I'm late with my review of Sungift because I wasn't sure about the products they installed. Now that I know that the replacement battery installed because the original one was defective is also defective it's obvious that you should consider very carefully whether Sungift are the company for you, particularly if you are considering a storage option. First off if you have a slate roof I wouldn't recommend them at all. The installation took way longer than expected and they've had to come back a couple of times because of slates that were broken but were under the solar panels. The first battery started failing after about 18 months but it took ages to get the problem resolved. Sungift hid behind the manufacturer of the battery saying it was down to them and then when a replacement was agreed Sungift wanted to charge me the labour to swap it out. When I pointed out that I was protected by consumer legislation I was told they would waive the charge as a goodwill gesture. I actually didn't have to pay anyway and Sungift should be aware of this if products that they sell fail within a reasonable period. The replacement battery is now also defective so I would caution anyone proposing using Sungift to be very thorough in their diligence about what happens if the products fail. Goods have to be of a "Satisfactory quality and fit for purpose". That's not been the case with this installation.

Ross B helped us spec and design a system to meet our requirements within the constraints of our property. We are very happy with the products and performance (panels, battery, gateway and diverter). The preparation was painless and the installation was great. The team were super kind and friendly and even stayed late on a Friday to get us up and running for the weekend which was going above and beyond (Frazer?). They installed additional cabling for an electric car we don’t even have to future proof the installation. It all looks very tidy. Great job! Full confidence.

We are absolutely delighted with our solar installation by SunGift. From start to finish the experience has been very professional and the system is delivering what we hoped for. We have not yet used a Kw from the grid. We initially discussed our requirements with Jay who gave good advice, was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all our questions. The installation team were very friendly, polite and provided us with a good handover of the system. The project management team, in particular Jenny, were very helpful, and kept us well informed of progress. Sungift sell market leading products. I would not hesitate to recommend them I was provided slightly cheaper quotes by other companies but after analysis found they were providing inferior products.

Sungift solar installed a solar array and battery in a rental house and Phil was particularly good at keeping all of us informed of progress from design to installation and completion. Really happy with our installation of a 12kW SigenStor inverter, inc. 16kWh of battery storage, the EVDC charger and gateway by Dave, Meg & Zak, including integration with an existing 9kW heat pump. The whole process was managed start-to-finish by Jay & Simon with any questions/changes handled without issue. Highly recommended!

All the team were extremely professional and polite, they tidied up when they had finished so you could not tell they been in the building. The entire process was completed in a day, and we were kept informed about what was happening at every stage of the install. We have been delighted by the service provided by SunGift Solar when installing a new array, battery & EV charging point at our property. Phil Langdon conducted a very thorough survey of our property, which even included a video showing the scaffolders how to access the garden and the installation area. The installation was conducted professionally and although there were a few minor teething problems, these were quickly sorted without fuss. Phil has kept in touch throughout the process and after the install was complete. Of particular note was his observation that the output on our original array had been capped due to Grid restrictions at the time, which we had forgotten about. He had been monitoring our Metrics to ensure the system was working as effectively as possible, and noticed the cap. Thanks to him we are now getting this restriction lifted, which will make our system even more productive. We have no hesitation in recommending SunGift Solar.

Sungift Solar really helped us after we were let down by another company. Sam Rager understood the position we were in, needing a n urgent inspection of the solar panel system in a house we are purchasing. Sam was proactive and when an opportunity arose he got the inspection done 4 days early and the report was also just as quick. The report was explained clearly by phone before we received it so we would have a clear picture of the situation. We will definitely use this company to do the repair works and additional future works. We really appreciated the support and the extra mile Sam went to help us.

Sungift fitted our solar PV system some 4 years ago. I recently had an additional Tesla battery fitted by them and also wished to raise my export limit from 3.6Kw. We have dealt with SunGift solar for 7 years and have found them to be knowledgeable, efficient and always courteous. We recently had a fault with our Tesla battery, which was dealt with very quickly. The professional team explained and helped set up the Tesla App. We cannot speak more highly of the company and would not hesitate in recommending them.

SunGift added a battery, inverter and uninterruptible power supply switch to the existing solar panels previously installed by them during the new house build. The fitting was efficient and tidy, good quality work throughout. The battery works seamlessly as intended, we're currently using zero from the grid, charging the battery from the panels and once full, sending surplus to the grid. We've even had a short power cut in the area which proved the UPS works perfectly, all systems in the house switched over instantaneously with no appliances to reset and our alarm didn't trigger a false alarm as many neighbours' did, it just kept on monitoring as it should. We've had a minor issue with Internet connectivity, which SunGift have been very helpful in sorting. Very satisfied customers, happy to recommend.

My solar panels were installed 8 years ago. Solar Gift were professional, friendly and helpful. Since then, I’ve required 2 visits; one when one of the panels stopped working and again now because the inverter has failed. The first repair/maintenance visit went very smoothly. This time, the fault is more serious and requires the installation of a new inverter, which fortunately is under warranty. Although there was a problem arranging this, I have been very impressed with the way that SunGift have handled the issue. They have communicated via email and phone and did their utmost to ensure that a resolution was found. Their customer service is excellent.

Initially we had a 6kw pv array installed with an iBoost at the tail end of 2015. A few months back in 2022 we had a further 4kw of pv installed along with a Tesla Powerwall 2, and a selection of myEnergi products, Zappi, Eddi, Harvi and a hub. Everything is running as expected, any teething issues have been promptly solved and we ar now looking forward to our first full summer in 2023. Thanks to Jack and the guys from Sungift for your smooth, well organised installation. Will be back at some point for a further battery in the garage and some more PV, this time wall mounted. Got to say a massive Thank you to the staff at Sungift after having a few issue that had nothing to do with them a few years after they had installed it, they then did all they could to help with fixing the issue i had and to get me back up and running as soon as possible.

I was fortunate to request a survey & quote early 2020, the installation of PV Panels & battery was completed by mid July that year. We have been reaping the benefits ever since. Although a huge financial investment the increase in energy prices have only made that investment more worthwhile. I found all staff at Sungift helpful, friendly & knowledgeable. It is a shame that their current workload seems to have become a bit overwhelming - from my experience they are worth sticking with!

I too have been waiting five months now, since sending full drawings of our house and specific requirements, yet no quote still, despite chasing. We only live 12 miles from Sungift. I was recommended this Company by a friend who used them several years ago and was v happy, but now I wonder why I am bothering when I am inundated with ads on facebook with alternative suppliers..

Like Tracey, several web enquiries and a couple of phone calls has resulted in no contact. I am sure you guys do a great job, but you are missing out on business. As suggested by Tracey, not even an acknowledgement, appalling customer service.

Customer service is non-existent from this company at the initial contact stages. At the time of posting this have been waiting 14 weeks for a quote having provided all the information requested. Despite chasing for a response 9 and 4 weeks ago nothing has been received to either. The bounce back email states 10 days for response to email and 6 weeks for a quote. I appreciate the company is busy but I am left very disappointed having received recommendations for them. It does not take more than a few minutes to send a response which would have prevented this review. I have now gone elsewhere. If the company does not have capacity it should be stated when you contact them.

Cannot give a ‘0’ star otherwise I would. Contacted last December and as requested sent photos and other information. End of January emailed to see what was happening, silence. Emailed again April, again silence. They state after contact initial design within 6 weeks but it has been a lot longer than that. It only takes a minute or so to send a holding email saying they are busy. Asked them to let us know if they did not want to take on the job and the reasons why. Cannot comment on the work but communication is pants.

From start to finish the company was patient… with me especially when I changed my mind, then back again! There was always someone to help me decide. They were not pushy! At all But Professional throughout. They explained everything and gave advice where it was needed. The solar looks very smart on our roof and is working very well. The team involved were excellent.. no problems and a great Great service. I would highly recommend them. Happy for anyone to view their work.

Sungift fitted solar panels and a Zappi car charger for me. I had problems with the Zappi from the start and have now been offered a replacement. However, Sungift have still not arranged a date to supply and fit the new charger even after almost 6 weeks - poor customer care sungift!

Early last summer SunGift installed a 5.1 Kw photovoltaic system on the south and east facing rooves of our cottage in Devon. The black frame module 340Wp JA solar panels are sleek and unobtrusive on the slate roof. England was just coming out of lockdown#1 but even at this very difficult and uncertain time, everyone we dealt with at Sungift and every contractor who came on site from the scaffolders to the electricians, were courteous, considerate, knowledgeable and hardworking. Six months on is early days to say in detail how much of our electricity useage is now provided by the new system but it is interesting to note that even in the darkest days of December we generated 150 kwh and exported 36kwh. We would really recommend investing in an Eddi – a micro generation energy diverter, which even on dull days diverts enough generated power to provide all day hot water for the all-important hand and dish washing. In the summer, the tank is hot by 10.00am and you would struggle to use all the hot water. Very glad we went with Sungift. A small company with real commitment and in-depth understanding of their field – what is possible, what is coming soon and which products are available and represent both value for money and longevity.

I've just had 17 PV panels in 2 arrays and a Tesla Battery installed by SunGift. I'm very happy with the service I received from SunGift through the pre-sales and delivery process and with the resulting system that they've installed. Ollie in particular was very helpful during the presales process. I felt no sales pressure. Ollie took time to properly answer all my questions and was genuinely interested in ensuring that I was happy with the final proposal, and that it delivered what I was looking for and needed... and at a decent price. The delivery and installation team also seemed knowledable, competent and keen to see that I was happy with the installation. I have no hesitation in thorougly recommending Sungift to anyone looking to install PV and or battery storage.

Installed our 16-panel domestic solar PV system in December. Excellent experience all-round. Would have given a 4.5 on account of a slow post-installation (and payment of balance) support so I could apply for the FiT. But in fairness this was all around the Christmas period. Otherwise though, couldn't fault the quotation process, survey (although needs jargon-busting a bit), pre-installation communication, installation process itself and the ease of paying. We got a quote from one other supplier and Sungift were well under. But I have no other direct comparison to say how good a value they offered, but seemed reasonable based on what others have told me. All those I dealt with were professional, knowledgeable and happy to help. Would happily recommend.

The whole service from SunGift was excellent. The installers simply could'nt have been more helpful, they went over and above what they needed to do both on the roof and with the electrics,leaving the site clean and tidy at the end.

I saw three companies before choosing SunGift. It wasn't a hard decision. Not only did SunGift come across as the most expert they were a pleasure to deal with. Not once did I feel I was being pushed into a decision and I always felt they were focused on delivering the right solution. The install was trouble-free and I won't hesitate in going directly to them again.

REPLY TO OWNERS RESPONSE to the original review: Dear Owner, when I've received a revised quote with fuse board pricing on it, I've told to your surveyor (the next morning) that I would like to go ahead with the installation and then I have not heard anything back from you for almost 4 weeks. The numerous e-mails and voicemails you left were made after only 4 weeks of silence when you realised that you might loose £5.5k job. And I did replied to your surveyor firs e-mail, but after that since I had a "great" treatment from you where you did not bothered to get in touch with me in the first 4 weeks I didn't see the point of answering anymore of your calls or e-mails because you have wasted enough of my time. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Had these guys come round in mid October to do the survey on my house for solar pv. Everything went ok, the surveyor said it is very easy job because of how easily everything can be accessed. The quote was for £5,5k, we have exchanged several e-mails with the surveyor where I've asked for insurance documents, data sheets etc and everything was provided to me, no problems here. In my last e-mail, beginning of November, I made a decision and said that I would like to go ahead with installation because I was happy with the quote and all the documentation provided. Never heard anything back. (Luckily I had another two local companies quoting for the same job.) After almost a month (beginning of December) I get a reply form SunGift asking if I had any thoughts about the installation? well... yeah I did but you are a month late and no way you can install solar pv without missing Feed In tariffs cut off. I can not comment about their workmanship but since they can not handle the initial communication with the customer, I don't know... does not look promisning.

I used them as they are local to me, but frankly knowing how good the service is I would use them again even if I lived much further away!

Right from the outset Sungift were professional and friendly - from the office staff, and surveyor to the guys that did the installation. They even fixed a couple of roof tiles for me and when we hit a snag they dealt with it efficiently. There had been an oversight during the survey, which meant an extra cable had to be run which they did at no cost to me. I think the measure of a company is how they fare when things go wrong. And in this respect SunGift could not have done better. Its great to find service like this. Their price was competitive and I would have no hesitation recommending Sungift. They are a local success story because they care about their customers and their reputation.

Sungift Solar came to our rescue in june 2016 our installation company had folded up and our system seemed faulty with nowhere to go i made a call to them. They advised me to keep daily meter readings also arranged an inspection date their engineer arrived on time and checked our system thoroughly even the fixings on the roof.The generation meter was indeed faulty and we had lost quite alot of money a new meter was fitted and instantly we could see the difference,the engineer also checked all our paperwork to make sure our system met all regulations.Sungift Solar surpassed our expectations their customer service over the telephone and their engineer was the best his knowledge was impressive a BIG THANK YOU AND WOULD RECCOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

Our system works perfectly. It is so good to feel that we are doing our bit for the environment and also getting a good return on our investment. The installation guys were cheerful, efficient and tidy. Since the installation, we had a small glitch, caused by my husband inadvertently disconnecting the TP link , which meant that although our solar earnings were still being paid, it was not showing on our monitoring software. Sungift sent out a very knowledgeable techie who fixed the problem in minutes - no charge! While he was here he also fixed my husband's computer - though this did cost us a cup of coffee! The monitoring system is wonderful - you can see how much power you are generating as a 'gift' from the sun. We cannot recommend this company highly enough.
