Came highly recommended from a friend, Alan text me updates and turned it around in a few days. The results are pictured below, couldn’t be happier. Fitted new Bosch internals and it looks better than new. So pleased thank you.

I felt compelled to submit this review in response to the negative one below as I was very surprised at the negative comments. I have been using AJW for at least 20 years now and most recently for a Subaru alternator rebuild this week. AJW has always been my ‘go to’ place for alternator or starter motor refurbishment and I can honestly say that they have never let me down. In my experience, their refurbished units are easily as good as new or exchange units and I have never had one fail on me. Alan and his family have always been a delight to work with. Granted, their premises are a little scruffy and unorthodox, but that gives them a certain charm in my book. ( As does the old Morris in the driveway.) It is very unfortunate that someone feels fit to ‘troll’ a small family business in the way of the one star review below, but I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion. My experiences with Alan and AJW are very long term and additionally very recent and I can find no way to fault the business from my own point of view, so I can only say they I will have no hesitation in continuing to use AJW and would thoroughly recommend others to do the same.

BEWARE. BEWARE. BEWARE. This guy may know his stuff but he is dishonest, disorganised and unreliable. Give AJW an inch and Alan will take a mile. Give Alan time, Patience, space, dont pester him too much and trust him to professionally deliver and deliver to his own targets and promises he'll let you down again again and again. A quoted three day job took over 6 months to complete (Non Covid impacted) - I offered Alan the benefit of doubt and foolishly listened to his many promises about progressing and prioritising my parts in good faith only to be let down repeatedly. In all I stopped by the premesis 8 times over the 6 month period and during business hours to chase progress; Five times I was advised by his Wife or Mother that he would get back to me and pass my message and number onto him (ignored as I was never called back) and on three occasions I spoke with Alan directly in person who promised me they would be done the following Monday.... always next Monday. Never have I or my buisness been shown so much contempt by a small business or have I been treated so badly by another human being after offering them my business. There are other local reputable firms offering the same services as this company with Genuine honesty, Reliability and speed that I would reccomend over this company such as JASM (just Alternators & Starter Motors) who have since provided me with a 24 hour turn around service for £60 which is 35% cheaper than AJW without any of the drama that Alan offers. Genuine review, Genuine experience, Genuinley let down. Still feel so betrayed and personally bullied by AJW electrics. Still awaiting an explanation and apology. Think carefully about who and where you choose to invest your business with.
