Voltstead Electrical

Jay arrived promptly on the day of our appointment and installed our new EV charger. His work was neat and tidy and he was a really lovely guy. Explained everything in detail throughout the install and helped with the set up before leaving. Knowing that Volstead to other electrical work, I won't hesitate to use them again for other things. Quotes and purchase support via Sam before today was also great. Highly recommend Jay and Sam, thank you both very much.

Jay and Vinnie were great, punctual helpful polite. Did the job well and left the place clean. Ps my son loves the mug :-)

Jay and the crew were fantastic, punctual, hard working, polite and friendly, installed new fuse board and EV charger, cleaned up after, brilliant work highly recommended.

Fantastic service from Voltstead, right from the initial enquiry. No pressure or upsell just genuine, honest advice. Responded quickly and fit my EV charger within a week (was quoted 4-6 weeks by other national companies!) Vinnie came to fit the charger and was incredibly helpful. He really listened to what I wanted (even though it wasn’t the easiest thing for him), again no pressure, gave me sensible advice and we had great banter whilst doing it. I don’t leave many reviews but I can’t recommend Voltstead highly enough and will definitely be using them for any electrical needs in the future.

Having used this company previously we were over the moon to have them back in and fitting our new Hypervolt charger for our first Electric car Jay was brilliant, friendly and neat we would recommend them to anyone.

So pleased with our EV Charger installation. Kieron was very professional, friendly… kept us updated on what he was doing & how the job was going. It wasn’t straight forward but he did such a great job & kept everything tidy & it was like nobody had been. Thoroughly recommend Voltstead Electrical 5⭐️ from me.

Absolutely brilliant Kieran as good as gold

Great experience coupled with a a first class neat and tidy install by Jay. Highly recommend!

After dealing with one of the large EV installers for the last 8 weeks and getting no joy it has been an absolutely fantastic experience from the moment I reached out to Voltstead to take over the project. Sam has been attentive and brilliant to deal with from the start followed up from a superb install by Dan and Vin (which was not an easy job for them) but they were polite, courteous and had amazing attention to detail. 100% you want to use Voltstead for your EV charger installs or any electrical work for that matter. Thank you all

I’m very pleased with my EV charger installation today. Jay did a wonderful job—he was polite, courteous, clean, tidy, and extremely knowledgeable. Before starting, he double-checked the location with me to make sure it was exactly where I wanted it. Apart from the charger now being neatly on the wall, you wouldn't even know he’d been here. I would rate six stars if it was possibl. Highly recommended!

My original enquiry was on Saturday. The EV charger was fitted Wednesday. Great service, efficient and great to deal with. I would highly recommend.

Both Vinney and keiran were extremely competent, friendly and professional. Exactly the experience we wanted for our new car charger install. Being that the job wasn't the simpleist (going under the floorboards, run in a channel and discreet wiring) we couldn't be happier with the result. We would look to use Voltstead electricals many more times in the future after this experience.

Excellent company. Filled in a form, got a quote and got an appointment sooner than I expected as they were happy to help me. All the big companies told me two to three weeks (boooooooooo) Jay just finished fitting it, explained everything, asked where I wanted the charger, and the fitting was all done neatly and exactly how I wanted it. Excellent job Jay. Excellent company, I will definitely recommend. Use them with confidence, I am pretty sure you’ll be happy with the service. Thanks Jay, thanks Volstead

Would highly recommend him and his team for any future work.

Thank you so much to Kieran who arrived promptly, worked all day and did an absolutely fabulous job. Clean, tidy and explained what he was doing and asked questions to make sure we were happy. Thank you again and will definitely be recommending.

Absolutely flawless service from Volstead Electrical and the installation of my EV charger. Vinnie was superb. I was a little worried as the cable run had to go via an access hatch under my floor and out of a tiled step, but Vinnie was excellent, really taking time and care. A really neat and professional job. I highly recommend.

Our fitter Kieran did a marvellous job. Very polite, tidy and a real good fit. Sam who came round to quote was very helpful and a good price

Lovely people to do business with, Sam examined our set up, explained our choices and provided a clear complete quote for exactly what we needed and wanted. The installation was very smooth and neat. Everything was explained and I had plenty of opportunity to ask questions. Nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend Volstead Electrical and will use them again should we ever need their services. Thank you.

Spoiler alert: 😊 We’re extremely happy with the service we received from Voltstead. We had an EV charger installed, and it was a big job. To give you a sense of the scale: The cable had to leave our apartment through walls almost three feet thick, pass beneath a private pavement through a custom duct that Voltstead installed, and then run approximately 70–80 feet to our parking space. We also needed a top-of-the-range charger to give us the best weather protection possible. They handled everything….. Of course, that was their job…. but the pride, dedication and sheer tenacity they brought to it were exceptional. After more than 30 years in IT, I know that the real test is not whether something goes wrong—because something at some time will 😊—but the test is how a supplier responds when it does. Long story short, there was an obscure fault in the equipment—the first of its kind Voltstead had encountered with this model. After connecting remotely, the supplier quickly agreed to send a replacement on the next working day. It arrived 24 hours later, and Voltstead were here just 12 minutes (seriously) after I texted to say it had arrived. Everything was up and running that same day. Sam, who runs the company, was determined to get everything sorted. He and his team clearly take enormous pride in what they do. I’m terrible with names, so forgive me, Sam, but Kiran, Dan and Vinnie came here several times: for the initial installation, to investigate the problem and then to carry out the second installation when the equipment was replaced. On top of all that, everyone was friendly, approachable and skilled, and they cleaned up after every visit—something I can’t say of all the engineers I’ve encountered over the years. Sam also pointed me towards a government grant that applied to our exact circumstances, and we successfully used it to help with the cost. Our charger is working very well, our car is fully charged, and charging it is now cheaper and greener. Voltstead were excellent, and we would happily recommend them. They are a team that takes pride in what they do and what they do they do very very well.

Excellent service , installed my EV Charger, definitely recommend.

Brilliant service from Jay. He was professional, friendly, reliable, and very knowledgeable. He answered all my questions, was really helpful, and took the time to explain everything clearly. Thanks again!

My Heroes! Desperate emergency when my poorly husband flooded the bathroom whilst having a shower. Water pouring into the living room and the celling light crackling and loud bangs. In no time at all Daniel arrived ( no cape) just an everyday hero - kind, patient and had it sorted in no time he even put a new fan together for me which was desperately needed in this heat. I have even spoken to Sam, Daniel’s boss on another matter and he was equally as helpful and patient. What a lovely company!! Such wonderful service, very fairly priced and cannot recommend highly enough.

We have worked with Voltstead for over 10 years, they are by far the greatest electricians locally. Our business would not be able to run affectively without their help. Thanks.

He was very friendly and professional, and explained exactly what needed to be done. Answering all of my questions as we went. He promised to send me a quote within an hour, which he did. This was on Wednesday last week, and I was booked in with Kieran for the install today (Monday) after accepting the quote online. Kieran also arrived exactly when promised, was also polite and professional, and recapped the work before going ahead with the install. The job is very neat, works exactly as it should, and was completed in record time. Very pleased with the service, the price and the finished installation.

I'm really impressed with the team at SG Electics. After finding out we had quite a severe ventilation issue causing damp in our property we were glad to find out there was something that could be done. We had a quote where they advised us on the work needing to be done and even came out a 2nd time when we had to go through things a bit more. The work got done over two days with minimal mess and disruption. I also found them very reasonable. Rachael the office manager was extremely helpful and replied to emails in some cases almost immediately. The fans we had fitted have been working brilliantly and were worth every penny. Excellent service from Sam and his team of electricians. All work carried out safely and thoroughly. Many thanks. Paul

5 STARS - Efficient, friendly and priced well. SG Electrics team spent several days inside our home and were nothing but absolute professionals. They wore shoe protectors from the beginning, very tidy workmanship and cleared up what little mess they did make. Compared to the other tradesmen we have had, the contrast really is night and day and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Sam was quick to price, arrived when he said he would with his colleague (sorry cant remember name) and did the work with no hanging around. It was a pleasure doing business with both who conducted themselves in a friendly and professional manner. I will definitely be using them again.

It's so hard to know who to call when you need a tradesperson. I googled and ...SG had great reviews so I gave them a call. *First good sign: Sam offered to come out the same day (he's the owner, but he has a team of electricians), I couldn't make it due to work, so... **Second good sign: He offered to come 9am the next day, Saturday morning. I'd been without power for 2 days. ***Third good sign: He quickly identified the problem and fixed my consumer unit. ****Fourth good sign: He was bang on time. ***** Fifth good sign: Really nice, intelligent, switched on guy. ...So, On time, great job (fixed it!), great reasonable price - what more can I say. Highly recommended, I've asked him to now do a full audit on my household electrics and then look after the rewiring of my new kitchen. Look no further, someone you can rely on. Thank you Sam, top man.

Great guy, really helped me out. Last minute call out but came fixed temporarily same day and then rectified next day. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic service!!! Spoke to Sam who was extremely helpful and professional, about some electrical work that needed carrying out and not only did he carry out the job on the same day he also txt me to let me know the job had been done!! Highly recommended!!

Amazing, helpful and reliable. 100% recommended.

Always brilliant service, whole team are great and always do a fab job in a reasonable time frame and for a good price. Best in the area!

Very helpful guy and great work, used him many times now and by far the most reliable and honest contractor I have used for ages! Genuine family run business and a great one!

Sam has done quite a few jobs for me, putting in an extractor fan, smoke alarms, door bells to name a few. He's always punctual, friendly, does a great job, and a very tidy worker too. He knows his stuff, I can't recommend him enough.

As promised on the website, Sam was polite, tidy and on time. He installed a new electrical radiator in no time leaving the kitchen clean and tidy. Highly recommended - Thanks!

I'm a landlord and SG Electrics was recommended to me by a local estate agent who uses them a lot. They carried out an Electrical Safety Check for me and changed a few light fittings and switches. They offered a very friendly and reliable service and I am sure I will be using them again soon.

We had an electrical fault on a Sunday and this company was the only one who would help and not charge an absolute fortune. Can not recommend them enough!
