When all our downstairs sockets failed, they came and quickly identified an unusual problem with the fuse board. They did a temporary fix and came back a few days later to fit a new board and check everything over. This was done cheerfully and efficiently, with everything left neat and tidy. Could not have been more pleased.
Borden Electrics have twice attended my house, the first time to repair my underfloor heating and fit new lights. Great communication from the company meant I knew when the work was taking place. The second was an emergency call out for an overheated transformer. I made an early morning call in a panic to Dave Borden and a few mins later I received a text confirming that Neil would be round to fix the problem. All the work was carried out expertly and without fuss. A have no hesitation in recommending this 5 ⭐️company.

Prompt response from Borden Electrics on a Friday afternoon, efficiently tracking down the cause of the problem. Who knew that slugs can squeeze into a power socket and cause a short circuit!
There was good communication from Dave about when the work would be done, and the electricians came when they were supposed to. We had a socket fixed and 1 replaced, 3 fans fitted in our bathrooms, a light fitting fixed and our gas meter earthed. All of the work was carried out to a good standard, particularly the earthing as this was a tricky job. They have also agreed to honour the manufacturers guarantee on the 3 fans, so if they break during the 2 year warranty they will be replaced by Bordens free of parts or labour charge. Overall I was very satisfied with the job. As Bordens are a company rather than a one man band the cost was more expensive but Dave told me the per hour charges in advance, and the guarantee and the standard of workmanship justified the extra costs.
Bordens were efficent and proffesional with their work , using ppe during work done at my home . Very pleased with their service , will definitely use again
We used Dave and his team when we moved into our current property.They installed a new fuse box and checked all the wiring ,updating where required. All the work was done with great efficiency and everything clearly explained.Later,when we needed extra sockets in our new extension we used Bordens again. Very tidy and conscientious we would have no hesitation in recommending for any electrical work and would certainly use again.
Dave Borden and his highly professional team did an excellent job rewiring our whole house. The work was interrupted by the Corona virus lockdown, and when the team returned to finish the work in July they were very careful to follow all the safety guidelines, wearing face masks at all times and wiping down all surfaces before leaving each evening. Borden Electrics came to my house for a few jobs and were extremely thorough in their approach. I had full confidence in their ability and work, and was grateful that they found a number of hidden issues that did need fixing that I wasn't aware of. I'd highly recommend - I wish I'd found them sooner!
The Borden team worked hard and long for us to sort out the original work, and then a variety of safety problems and faults they tracked down for us (including a large nail through a floorboard and into a mains cable, just under the carpet in our daughter's bedroom!). They kept mess and disruption to a minimum (even though a partial rewire was required), and explained all the issues and work required really well. Highly recommended.

We needed a new light fitting installing, which required the removal of a plaster ceiling mould. This was done, holes filled and the rough edges sanded so that a coat of paint will do the trick. Neil and his colleague were polite, explained what they were doing at each stage, and tidied up afterwards. Job done ! I certainly recommend Borden Electrics and will use them again if the need arises
What started off as a seemingly small job opened up all sorts of issues which Dave Borden steered us through very professionally and we ended up with a greater understanding of our electrics and the knowledge that our installation was at least safe although in need of upgrading. I can thoroughly recommend his firm and will definitely call upon him again for future work.
My home in Sheffield needed a full rewire to rectify dangerous DIY wiring by previous owners. Borden’s came and started the job almost immediately, did a thorough job to an extremely high standard, finished on time, cleaned up perfectly and were thoughtful and considerate throughout. We have been impressed with the work of Borden Electrics. We have used them for a variety of different jobs. They have completed all the work well and have efficiently sorted out any problems which have arisen. They are very polite and understanding in all their interactions. We have no reservations in recommending them.
I can thoroughly recommend these guys. We have an old Victorian house with wiring of varying ages and quality which needed upgrading without wrecking the place. Dave and Neil worked hard and well over the course of a week to install new wiring and consumer unit, working within the bounds of what was possible without leaving us needing to redecorate. They are skilled, efficient and they clear up after them. We were happy to leave them with the key to the house to finish the job while we went away. I don't think you'll find better.

I highly recommend Borden Electrics. From the first telephone call to the cleaning up, they were clear about what needed to be done and what it would cost. We had old wiring from the Fifties. Dave and Neil pointed out the possible dangers. For peace of mind we decided on a complete rewire and didn’t have to wait long for work to begin.
