BEWARE !! Sunlight may have an impressive web site , but their after service is woefully lacking. My company has a £30M (property development) pipeline so you would think they would give my personal needs proper consideration. WRONG - despite several calls before Christmas to rectify problems in my own home, they failed to call back- and I’m still waiting late January. My strong advice - look elsewhere.

Having been told by a competitor that our battery was dead and needed replacing, we decided on a second opinion from Sunlight, who successfully created new life in the existing battery, at a price just a fraction of the cost of a new battery. Sunlight Future were recommended to us by a friend as a solar panel installer who would do a good job at a fair price and that was our experience. From the initial survey through presenting the possible options, answering queries and then carrying out the installation we were impressed with their expertise and efficiency in carrying out the work. So, we had spoken with two solar energy companies, so far we’re not impressed, then we called Sunlight Future Ltd. Finally a breath of fresh air. James who took our call was extremely obliging and understood from the outset what we needed to do. We felt immediately at ease, especially with the complexities of solar installations. Over the following weeks the various staff, Jeffin and company, put together a plan. We undertook a survey, which was professionally conducted and very thorough. The two days of installation was conducted by a very friendly professional team managed by Rupert. Day two was primarily Rupert, who went beyond the call of duty and subsequently made a third visit several days later to thoroughly check a meter installation. Truly cannot fault the the work by the entire team. Extremely courteous, cleaned up as they went and left a very smart tidy job. It truly pays to seek out small local businesses who are competing with larger energy companies. Ten out of ten from us, thank you.

Having had an excellent experience 4 yrs ago having a Tesla Powerwall/Battery and solar panels fitted, it is with some dismay I share my dealings with the company over the past couple of months when requesting a quote for an EV charger to be fitted. After an initial consultation with Jeffin Mathew on the 2nd Jan 2025, I was advised verbally pricing approx £1k + for Gen 3 Tesla EV charger and £2K+ for My Energy Zappi, but a formal quote would be forthcoming the following week. After a couple of weeks I followed up with a reminder but still nothing in writing. On the 16th Feb, I spoke with James who apologised for the delay, a formal quote arrived the following day for both EV chargers, Tesla quote £2,028 fitted & Zappi £1,938 fitted. On reminding Jeffin that he had indicated to me the Tesla charger was approx £1000 cheaper than the Zappi in our conversation a month or so previous, and that his competitors were also charging £1,000 for the Tesla Gen 3 charger fitted, with out any real explanation, the price was reduced by £700, to £1,300 their final and best price, take it or leave it. Given their price was still £300 more than their direct competitors, I highlighted my intent to go elsewhere and my disappointment in their lack of apparent transparency and customer service. Given my previous custom of Solar and Tesla Power wall installation, I have to say I am disappointed with Sunlight Futures response to my enquiry, both in terms of having to both to chase up a response a month or so after the enquiry and then having to query the pricing being offered, it being close to double the final price offered. I emailed Oli & James the message below, but to date have received no further response. Oli / James I am surprised at the above, ‘the devil is in the detail’ as they say, and your business would certainly not warrant the 5* recommendation I would have given it 2 yrs ago post installation. My advice anyone using this company, do your due diligence or you may end up paying through the nose as I almost did.

I had a 6.3 kWp solar panel and 9.5 kWh battery system fitted. Sunlight Future provided an accurate quote (actually the cheapest too) with a detailed report. They were very helpful regarding our questions about the system and other options and they sent a surveyor to our house (43 miles away) to assess the installation. The work was completed on time, to schedule and at the agreed price. All of the staff/workmen were polite, friendly, hard working and helpful. After 11 weeks the system has worked well with no issues and generated 1298 kWh of power which is similar to the estimated power in the quote (bit less, poor weather though!). I would strongly recommend them.

You never really know how good a company is until something goes wrong! Just over four years ago I purchased a 4 kW solar system from Sunlight Future. The whole buying experience I have to say was excellent, they were professional in their presentation, professional with regard to installation, fair pricing and very courteous. I had no complaints. I discovered recently that I had a problem with one of my solar panels, which was well below its normal efficiency. Looking at my paperwork from Sunlight Future I can see that I have a guarantee for the panel. I phoned up and spoke to a gentleman called Ollie who explained to me that the manufacture of that solar panel has gone bust. He said he would have a look around to see if anybody had a panel the same and if not come back to me with a solution for the issue I had. A week and half goes by, nothing! No call from Ollie, so I phone up and asked to speak to Ollie and left a message with another gentleman. Another week goes by, nothing! No call from Ollie. So I send a lengthy email reiterating my concerns. A week and a half goes by, nothing! No call from anybody. So I pick up the phone and ring again, and get to speak to another gentleman who knew about my problems and did see the email, but could only apologise for not getting back to me because they have been busy. I had a lengthy chat with this gentleman who explained my options of which there were three but couldn’t really advise which was the best to take. Also the full cost would be down to me which could be reduced if they tacked it onto another job when they were in my area. He was very indecisive as to what the best action was to take and to the cost. So we left it that he would do some further investigation and we would speak the following Monday to make a decision of what to do. Monday came, nothing! No call. So after a couple of days I rang and spoke to Ollie, he said I knows the other gentleman is dealing with it, he is on the phone and I will get him to call you back. A week and a half later, nothing! No call. I even said to this gentleman, the worst thing you can do to me is ignore me or not phone back, and so it seems that this company are extremely proficient at ignoring you or not phoning back when there is an issue. I am a realist, and understand it is not a perfect world and know it is not Sunlight Future’s fault that the maker of the solar panel has gone bust. I can take bad news but not rudeness or the arrogance of ignoring me. When you have specialist equipment installed in your home the only place you can go to when something goes wrong are the experts, i.e. the company that installed it. I don’t think it is too much to expect help. Or if they cannot help, have the decency to say so. So my experience of Sunlight Future was good at first but I can honestly say I would not recommend them to anybody now, as they clearly do not want to know you when something goes wrong. I am sure there are many more reputable companies out there, who understand that looking after customers is how you get more business and recommendations. Even if it may be inconvenient or cost them a little. I have subsequently found that the company that went bust still exists, (Sun Edison) albeit in a tiny format compared to its former self. But I cannot find out whether there are any warranty honouring from the remaining company. This is the kind of information I hoped sunlight future would have come back to me with.

I really liked the fact that each individual who dealt with me had real expert knowledge and understanding of the solar systems. From beginning to end, I liked this company and the people who work in it. I was provided with comprehensive information to enable me to make a well-informed decision and at no point was I put under any pressure. The system they have installed for me is really high quality, looks great, and uses cutting edge technology. As a result it is now performing in an impressive and clever way, with the solar panels working with the Tesla Powerwall to reduce my reliance on grid electricity as much as possible (almost totally so far). I also love the associated apps for my phone that let me monitor the performance of the system very easily. I am very glad I made this choice.

Extremely efficient and professional team from the outset. I needed to do hardly anything right from the quote stage to complete installation. They completed all my paperwork, signed me up to correct tariffs, so all i needed was to sign the forms! Everything was completed on time and as to spec. Their pricing out of 3 quotes was middle of the road, probably about £100 - £200 (not much in the grand scheme) more expensive, yet I have much more comprehensive monitoring of the systems when compared to friends system that did not use these guys. Additionally I felt much more assured by Sunlight's competence and willing to go the extra mile. Would more than happily recommend these to family let alone some stranger on the web!

I had received a couple of cold calls concerning PV panels from other companies and also a couple of quotes which weren't too great. I found and contacted Sunlight Future and was pleasantly surprised that all of the survey work could be achieved using the Google map image of the house. They then provided three quotes for a range of products, costs and optional extras. Again, this was far better than other companies I could mention. Whole process was very quick and well executed. Some initial teething problems with the Owl monitoring system but this was satisfactorily overcome. Overall a good installation and a very nice company to work with. No hard sell at any time. I would highly recommend the Immersion Heater controller option to anyone fitting PV cells and has a hot water tank (with electric immersion heater). Free hot water most of the year, you will just need to top it up during the winter months. The Owl monitoring unit provides up to the minute system performance information if you are into that sort of thing! Highly recommended - especially as energy prices can only really go up and the cost of borrowing (return on cash investments) is so low.

I had a 4kW - 14 panel system installed in December 2014 and would happily recommend the Sunlight Future team. I got three quotes and Sunlight Future were not cheapest but only £150 more, but the extra freebie was compelling (I got a Watson energy monitor that I really like). Oli was really professional, helpful and friendly at first visit so that made me feel inclined to use them. The guys doing the installation were also very friendly and i felt happy to have them around my home. We had a couple of snags during the install. We ran out of sun on the day so could not fully test the system (it was December!) but Oli came round at awkward times to ensure the system was running. System is now fully operational and I can view output via the web. I would easily use Sunlight Future again and recommend them to friends.

We chose Sunlight Future because they were clearly knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the technologies and products. We received good advice and a couple of alternative quotes with the differences being well explained. The installation was on time and performed with minimum of fuss. The whole team were polite and helpful. The system has been performing well against the estimates in the proposal despite some awful weather in the first six months of operation. After sales service has been good and we have received help in getting a PC connection working from the inverter so that we can monitor and graph performance of the system.
