We used AJ Taylor for installing a EV charger. From the get go - they were very response. Tom H, from the EV team, was very helpful in suggesting alternatives and options. We had initially looked at an energy provider to install this charger - their quote was not only higher but also more intrusive/ disruptive. Tom/ team kept us updated regularly if there was a deviation from the plan. The installation crew - Callum, Louie - did a good job, and also did a solid post-job cleaning. Thank you, AJT.

Unfortunately not a great experience with this company. 1) some of the work was left undone : plugs were left unscrewed without any screws at our disposal. The team didn't communicate it and had to come back to fix it. 2) one plug in the bedroom still can't be completely screwed back as the metal from the box doesn't leave enough space 3) the team had communicated about our electrical shower being too powerful for the wiring. We explained we were going to get rid of it within a month and it had been agreed (on two occasions, with the manager and the team on site) to leave it as it is. The team ended up disconnecting the shower WITHOUT letting us know and then offered to reconnect it with a full upgrade of the wiring at the cost of 400£. We will be hiring another team to fix what wasn't done properly and for any future work. We do not recommend going with this company.

An incredible experience from survey to install. Great customer service throughout. Offered a free visit. Then really quick to provide a very competitive quotation. Fast and thorough install. Great bunch of lads that completed install too. There was a slight error with the provided cable but rectified promptly and without any inconvenience. Would use for future work!

Did a great job on our solar installation (panels, battery and inverter) - friendly & professional staff who worked hard and left everything looking neat and tidy afterwards - you can possibly find cheaper if you shop around but overall they were really good - would recommend them.

Called this company on the first day back after Christmas break on 6th Jan ,after they were recommended , 5 x calls and 2 x emails later couldn’t book a simple quote for a full re wire over the phone had to be passed to a manager. 24 th Jan gave up all hope .Poor customer service and communication.

Excellent service from A J Taylor. By coincidence, we had two unrelated electrical issues within a week. Communication was very good. They answered the phone each time, called back as promised and were polite, friendly and professional. They were able book someone to visit very quickly, who turned up at the allocated time. Callum, the electrician, successfully completed both complex jobs and was outstanding. He was polite, very professional and carefully and sensibly went about the work to isolate and eventually fix the issues. (One of the jobs involving the sewage pump was quite unpleasant, but Callum fixed it undaunted!) In conclusion, highly recommend A J Taylor and electrician, Callum, was brilliant.

A J Taylor have just supplied and fitted an additional Tesla battery. Every stage of the installation went to plan, every one I spoke to was helpful, especially the installation team. So one happy customer.

Awful and aggressive drivers

Telephoned for a repair to an electrical socket connecting the oven. Very friendly service from office staff and as I work different shifts they accommodated my half days for Callum to attend to fix the electrical socket which was in a tight space. He managed to get the part required. We also chatted about football - Leeds here but soft spot for Brighton! The Chestnut Tree House is a Children's Charity and a very worthy charity having had a great neice treated/cared for there a few years ago. Thanks

AJ Taylor installed 6 solar panels and a Tesla battery to our home. The whole process was well managed and installed on time. The installation team, led by Matt, was very professional. In particular we appreciated the excellent communication at all levels of the firm. Very customer focussed with good post completion support. A really positive experience.

We had a complicated situation with a faulty cable in the ceiling leaving us with no lights in three rooms and Ashley patiently explored all the possible options and sorted out the problem. He and his colleagues were very polite and hard working - thank you.

Terrible experience. Paid £250 for a solar panel check, they came around for 30 minutes and I never heard from them again, no report, nothing. Complete waste of time and money.

An absolute disaster of a company. First, they sent an electrician who did not understand the job and came with the wrong materials. He also didn't have some altogether! Luckily, I noticed he was inserting the incorrect bulbs and had him fix it, but then he left for several hours to get the dimmers we wanted, only to come back empty-handed! He said he can't complete the job and left?? We contacted AJ Taylor, and explained the situation. Weeks go by and randomly, the electrician is at our door on a Friday night! No heads up, nothing. We were just leaving so we had to ask him to leave also. It was such a mess! Months were going by and the job was still not getting done! In the end, we felt so pushed around, dismissed and so unimportant that we asked to cancel the rest of the job and paid for what we had done. The company did not try to alleviate any of the difficulties we faced, nor amend the price to reflect the poor service we received. We felt like we weren't AJ Taylor's priority because it was a small job. If you have a small job, I do not recommend this company. The job is STILL not done in our home and we are looking for alternative electricians. Poor service and communication.

AJ Taylor undertook a domestic solar PV installation for us. From quote to completion every communication and interaction have been professional and timely. The site team left no mess and all the controls were installed neatly and to our expectations. We have already commissioned AJ Taylor to add a Tesla Powerwall to the system to allow us to use the excess solar energy we make in the day after the sun sets. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them or use them again and already have given their details to a colleague who is looking to add solar PV.

Attended an emergency call out on a Saturday morning after electrics tripped repeatedly in a tenanted property. Quickly established the cause of the issue and isolated the appliance so I could arrange its repair/replacement.

Outstanding firm. We had a charger for our car and powerwall fitted the workmen were friendly and really knew there stuff. We had two small issues spoke to Ashley in the office he was really helpful . 20min later the owner of the firm called me back to settle any dispute and gave us his personal number if we had any more questions. Great firm great staff and a great price🙏

Always offer top service and make every effort to work around my businesses needs when carrying out installations. I have used them on multiple occasions.

I needed to fit some new light fixtures and fix a switch that was simply isolated, it turned out to be a regrettable experience. The guy they sent me came unprepared and seemed very incompetent. He messed around with the switch for an hour and managed to link the cables of two different rooms, since then the lights in the lounge don’t work properly anymore. After wasting all that time he came out saying he needed another two hours of work to figure it out, so I just asked him to stop. I had to call them to explain the ridiculous situation and after a couple of days, they sent some guys who at least managed to fix the lights in the corridor. They weren’t impressed by the job done by their colleague too. I obviously refused to pay for the time wasted even if they tried to add it to the invoice. In response to your false statement: The lights fixtures and the LED bulbs don't have anything to do with the isolated switch which is in a different room. The lights fixtures are in the lounge and they were flickering and buzzing because the module was not dimmable. Your "qualified" electrician didn't change any switch, he just changed the module which I provided. The isolated switch is in the corridor just behind the lounge one and it was isolated by another electrician because we had a leak from the flat upstairs while he was working on the fixtures in the lounge. I contacted you because I didn't like how he was doing the job. I don't do DIY, how did you come up with the idea I did the wiring? Your "qualified" electrician did the incorrect wiring, I had to take a video of him. The second visit shouldn't have been charged at all because they simply did what you were supposed to do on the first visit.

Had two electrician's and both saying different things that need fixing which are working fine office staff like to address you by first name even though they didn't ask if that was okay. Of all the firms I contacted, this one was the ONLY one to send out an expert in advance to check out the installation before giving a quote. All the others asked me to take and send endless photographs and asked questions to which I didn't know the answer. The installation was done quickly and neatly. Can't ask for anything more.

These guys were excellent. I went with them because they did a site visit before giving me a quote. I got great advice and the guy they sent out do the installation was very helpful

AJ Taylor look after all my schools electrical repairs/ scheduled servicing , fire safety checks and extraction/air handling servicing. The office staff who manage the call outs are efficient and response time is quick. The engineers who attend are reliable, courteous and friendly. I've never had cause to complain or query any work that AJTaylor have done for me in the past 2 years. I'd have no hesitation in recommending AJ Taylors.

I Contacted this firm by email following the failure of the meter to record the input from my Solar panels. I received a response within half an hour and after explaining the situation an appointment was made for an Engineer to visit my property a couple of days later who would be here at 8 am. to assess the situation. Promptly at 8 am to the dot the Engineer arrived and having examined and assessed the equipment, he switched it off and isolated everything. He then removed and the old meter which was faulty and replaced it with a new one. Having switched everything back on he checked that all was operating correctly and having the inserted the required "seal" he completed the paperwork which I signed and he departed. Arrived 08:00hrs, departed 08:19hrs. I COULD NOT HAVE ASKED FOR BETTER SERVICE. As far as I am concerned would recommend A.J.Taylor to anyone. Polite Engineer, All in all what I would call CUSTOMER SATISFACTION on all counts. A.J.Taylor 10 out of 10 and CUSTOMER 100% satisfied. THANK YOU. from R Beckett

Having used AJ Taylor in both my business and at home I will say it would be hard to beat their professionalism.

The electricians who came were good, polite, on time and efficient but the administrative side was lapse, I recieved my invoice 5 days after it was issued via emailed to my correct email address, with 2 days left to pay I was told initially I could pay via a link that would be sent to me. Instead I had to chase invoices and rush to the bank. My email was taken incorrectly to begin with. I spent a lot of time ringing the office to ensure I had been booked in. Never got called back.
