Given we knew very little about what we were buying and the technical requirements, we were given excellent advice and the installation, which was not straight forward, was completed in a timely and efficient manner.

Disappointing and disrespectful experience Unfortunately, my experience with West Yorkshire Electric did not match their positive reviews. I contacted them with a clear goal: to install a Tesla battery +/- solar, and charger system. During the initial call, I provided detailed information and was booked for a follow-up telephone consultation with an "expert" the next day. Before that appointment, I was asked to supply further details, including multiple photos and videos of my property, meter, and consumer board—all of which I provided. During the call, the representative seemed more focused on asking whether I could source the Tesla charger myself than on understanding the work I needed. Only at the end was I told they do not install the Tesla Powerwall—information that could easily have been shared during my first enquiry. When I pointed out the wasted time, an apology was only offered after I raised the issue three times. This is not the professionalism or courtesy I would expect from a company handling significant home energy projects. I would not recommend them and will not trust them to do a job worth of your time or money.

What a wonderful local company that can compete on a national level. Had the pleasure of having an EV charger fitted at a time to suit me and without any problems. Josh the fitter, was courteous knowledgeable and clean and thorough in his approach. Jamie - Stef have wonderful communication skills and my expectations were exceeded trusting again that local independent businesses do a far better job than the multi national firms. In a few years I may return for solar panels.

Josh was so friendly and efficient in his work, immediately upon arrival asking where I would like the charger to be, he just got stuck in and got on with the work, no messing around. Was kind enough to rejig my meter cupboard to make everything fit nice and snug, everything looks so neat and tidy and he was in and out within 3 hours. How do you describe a top quality service, well first I’m a stickler for prompt customer service, calls, emails, text I think this is always going to show you what the company is like!. From start to finish I was given a 5 star service, the electrician that came was respectful not only to the work but me and my family, he was very approachable and chatty with left you with a positive feeling of the service being provided. From the initial call into West Yorkshire Electrics, the communications back were very clear and frequent. We knew exactly what was happening and when. Jaime called as arranged, and helped to guide us through the process, suggesting the charger that best suited our needs, and arranged fitting the following week. Josh came to fit the charger, and nothing was too much trouble, he did all the work quickly and efficiently, and with a smile on his face throughout. Whilst we didnt and up going ahead with this company. They responded to the quote request and actually spoke to me in detail. Jamie was very honest that the budget would be a struggle and took time to explain why. This advice has made me rethink the entire design for my mother in law. If their customer service is anything to go by the install I am aure would have been equally as good.

Had an ev charger fitted by Josh, he turned up on time got straight on with the job no messing, polite and knowledgeable, no mess and told me if I’d any problems he’d come back, this is not related to the job but I had another electrical issue and phoned W Y Electrical for some advice, there was no one available to give me any at the time, later in the day Jamie called me back to offer me advice, well spoken and knowledgeable, if I ever need any electrical work doing I won’t hesitate to contact them, thanks Jamie

I had no idea where to start to have a car charger fitted at home other than the usual google which I suppose most people do On reading west Yorkshire electicala info I contacted them I got a quick response with all my questions answered eg quality longevity price and the best cysteine to have with my electic supplier The charger was fitted soon afterwards at a convenient time there was very good communication from beginning to end All in all I'm totally happy with the professionalism and easy communication with WYE as this is not easy to find nowadays What impressed me the most is I was dealing with people both on email and the phone not just a website. A very efficient and personalised service. The original timetable for installing an EV charger was adhered to throughout.

I can highly recommend West Yorkshire Electrics! They installed our EV charger last week and right from the quotation to installation they were extremely efficicient. The quote was laid out in detail for each make of charger they provide and they were so amenable when we called them to ask about which might be the best charger for our needs. Terry and Jamie were able explain the pros and cons, to help us make the right choice! The installation was a breeze. Josh, the installation engineer arrived spot on time and within minutes we had discussed the best route for the cables and he started work. The installation took about two and a half hours and I was so impressed with how efficient the process was and also Josh's attention to detail throughout, even down to ensuring the boxes on the outer wall were fitted perfectly level! He tidied everything away afterwards, even sweeping up the brick dust from the outside of the house, before explaining in detail how to use the charger and the download and use of the app! If you want reliability for any electrical work, these are the guys you need! I'd definitely use them again if I needed any major electrical jobs!

We used WYE to help install the power at a customers location where we were installing an illuminated sign. The correspondence at all stages was excellent, keeping us fully informed. Purchased a home EV charger through WY Electrics. Price for unit and install was no more expensive than going through Octopus directly and they were able fit us in before Christmas. West Yorkshire Electrics recently fitted an electric vehicle at our house and were extremely efficient at every stage of the process. from the initial site inspection and the description of what was needed and what would be done to the actual carrying out of the work and the finished job was really very good and professional. I needed a EV Charged fitted quickly after being let down by Octopus after 6 weeks of waiting. WYE were able to do the job in a matter of days. The charger was fitted without any disruption and little fuss. I was taken through how it all worked and we did a test charge of the car. Would recommend and use again.

They installed a new circuit board and relocated it, added new circuits for solar panels and installed the batteries , several external lights etc. We were very pleased with the work, professionalism of the team and work done to the dates agreed.

Our solar panels stopped generating so I looked for a local company to offer advice; WYE diagnosed that a new inverter was needed and we asked them to do the work. I chose this company for a quote for my EV charger to be re connected after a re wire and my meter being moved. They had been highly recommended to me, and their web page advertises not only installations but management of EV ect!..Disappointed! I called and spoke to an engineer about my requirements and as I’m disabled it was really important and I wanted to get it right. He told me not to worry, they would deal with it and would happily quote me. I gave him the phone number of the surveyor overseeing the re wire job and I thought it was all in hand. The next day the company receptionist called me asking for information I was unable to speak due to an appointment but directed her to the engineer “Terry” I think he was called and said he would give her all the information she said she would speak to him and the surveyor. 2 days later I called after not hearing anything and the phone was answered by the same engineer who basically said he couldn’t understand why I was calling..I was baffled as I explained I was still waiting for my quotation. He said he would have it to me within the hour then changed it to by lunch time. I waited and didn’t hear a thing. I received a further phone call from the receptionist “Tara” I think her name was she said they needed pictures of the EV charger and of the whole of the outside of the house where the cable was. I couldn’t believe it, I repeated I was unwell and disabled and said I didn’t think they needed all this but she said the engineer requested it for the quote. I duly sent the photos. A day later I called to see if she had received them she said she had not as it’s on wattsapp, this was never told to me I ended up sending again on email. I waited for the quote….and waited….!! By the Monday I had still not had a quote so I sent an email to the company, the manager responded saying he apologised and that he had been away and had some stuff to get through but would get my quote to me that day….it never arrived. Over 2 weeks later and still no quote. For a company that was recommended I’m appalled to be treated like this. They could have just said they didn’t want the job. I would never recommend a

I've employed West Yorkshire Electrical for two jobs, one replacing an induction hob, the other installing an outdoor security light, and cannot rate them highly enough. Everything from getting a quote to the finished job was done efficiently and the customer service was excellent. Josh even hung a mirror for me in the lounge after he'd fished installing the light! Jamie and the team at WYE have completed both a Solar panel and battery install for us (Giv-energy system) and previously an EV charge-point (Myenergi Zappi charger). Both these projects were handled very professionally from the quotes onwards and all the work completed to a very high standard. The team have responded promptly to any queries I had and any issues with the initial set up of the solar & battery system were dealt with quickly to ensure everything was working correctly. If you are looking for an installer for a Solar system or EV charge-point I would strongly recommend them. I can also recommend them for smaller electrical jobs too as they changed a number of internal light fittings for us very efficiently.

These guys are amazing - Jamie was in constant contact whilst having difficulties getting technical support from GivEnergy, they had to come back a few times for troubleshooting but the issue was with the supplier and Jamie stayed on it until everything was completely sorted. Would recommend to anyone and will definitely be using them again! The guys were all very knowledgeable and professional, excellent service from start to finish.

Simply excellent. In my experience there’s two types of certified electricians: those who love their job, take pride in what they do and do the right thing, every time; and those who have the certificate and are going to do the bare minimum. Jamie and the team at wye are definitely old school (on a good way) pride-in-their-work electricians. From the neatness of the wiring - even inside consumer units which no one will ever see - to the care and thought taken when running cables to minimise damage, they are simply first class. We contacted them on a recommendation for a solar install, and they handled everything, working with our roofers and being flexible around their progress too. Whilst they were here they also did electrical work on our new dormers which was impeccable. I’m not often impressed by electricians - my father in law was an electrical superintendent for a university who had very high standards - but the team has surpassed them. Whether it’s solar (and the seemingly endless admin that goes with that) or new install or remedial work I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending them. 10/10. I like the way they treat and develop their employees too: all in all a cracking company.

EV charger install with another RCD box install + wire upgrade. I had been speaking to a few different electricians and company's regarding an install and WYE were by far superior in taking the time to answer my (many) questions and concerns. They gave me a fair price and did the job a week later (most other company's were several weeks or a month + to wait). Jamie was especially great with answering all my initial issues and concerns I had been having with my house fuse/DNO and helped me with the options I had been pouring over. Guys that came were great and friendly, and sorted a few other things at the same time for me as well and were just in general really accomodating. Last but not least, got to give a shout out to Tara for taking my many calls! Will certainly be recommending and using for any/all my electrical needs going forward. Couldn't ask for better service.

Jamie and the team at WY Electrical looks after the power at Ascensor. We have a large building that requires a lot of maintenance and we can't have week-day downtime. Jamie and his team are flexible, working on weekends to maintain our systems, can't recommend them highly enough!

We are a small Junior School and we had an EVC charger fitted in our car park. This is to allow staff who have electric cars be able to charge their vehicles during their working day. The work was carried out quickly, efficiently with no disruption to the school day. Jamie was a pleasure to work with and he is very intelligent in his field. The communication with the administration side of the busy was also clear, precise and everything went with ease. I have booked to have a second charger installed and would highly recommend this company if anybody is thinking of having an EVC fitted.
