We employed NB Contracts to construct a new block-paved drive and to replace a large area of rotten wooden decking in the rear garden with a new patio. Because we had another project booked to start the following week we needed the work to be completed in a week. They completed the work on time and to a high standard. They have a range of equipment and resources unequalled in the area and a team of skilled and experienced workers many of whom have been with the firm for years. We would not hesitate to recommend them.
After the bad storm, we lost our fence. After a friendly chat with Toni in the office, the fellas were round within 5 days and the job was completed in a day. Very polite and lovely bunch of lads. They worked their socks off and are a credit to the company! We are over the moon!
Joe has just power washed re sanded and applied resin to our block paved driveway- excellent job we are so pleased with the results it actually looks better than when it was first laid. Joe was professional hardworking and meticulous about making sure all debri and dirt was taken away- including making sure windows garage door etc were all clean after the power wash! I highly recommend this company from the initial quote, which was a very reasonable price for such a large driveway, through to Joe coming back on a Sunday to move our heavy plant pots back onto the driveway which was very much appreciated. Great company
We chose NB Contracts after seeing a driveway they had completed nearby. Having spoken to the owner to get their views, they highly recommended this company. We arranged a quote and the work has only just been recently finished following the recent heavy snowfall. The quality of work and hard work put by Samuel and Nathan, working in bad weather conditions was excellent. We are so pleased with our new driveway, door step and rear corner patio area. Great job! Further review added March 2024 Following on from our driveway being laid some 15 months ago, there were a few snagging issues that we raised in the last week. The owner Nathan contacted me straight away, I had someone round that evening and they did the work 2 days later (would have been the next day but it was raining heavy). Bert and Tom dealt with all the issues to put satisfaction and Toni in the office, who is always polite and friendly ensured that my email and photos of the issues were looked at and dealt with immediately. I cannot fault the service received. Thank you.
I chose NB Contacts because they had the most creditations as advertised in the local yellow advertiser. I'm in Chelmsford and needed an extension to my drive to match the existing block paving. They did a marvellous job and matched the new with the old perfectly. I've never seen workmen do the job while constantly cleaning up after them. They even made sure there was no mess left in the gutter or road. I can't fault their professionism and friendliness. I did voice a concern that the extension would result in a puddle by the front door. Don't worry was the reply 'we've already noted that and will make sure the fall matches in with the existing'. If on call, the following day was wet all day and no hint of puddles. I can thoroughly recommend NB Contracts.
We decided to use N B contracts as they have worked on a considerable amount of driveways/patios in our area. We were not disappointed. We needed a new, paved drive and the works went smoothly, all hard core from the existing drive was removed swiftly, the team were tidy and worked extremely hard, I cannot fault their workmanship. We visited the yard to choose our paving and received excellent service and information from the lovely lady (Toni) in the office. We are very pleased with the end result and highly recommend this company.
These guys worked hard to clean our driveway,repair it where necessary and resealed it. Did a great job.Recommended.
Requested a quote for a patio and the rep arrived at the appointed time. He said that he would e mail me a quote shortly. Nothing arrived and after 3 days I e mailed them a reminder. Never heard back from them in response to my e mail, nor with a quote. Wasted a week of my time! Never again! If they didnt want the job, they should have just said so. Waste of time!
NB finished my drive yesterday, Bert ,Lee, and the rest did a brilliant job fast with good workmanship I would not hesitate to use NB again and would recommend them to anyone, all day long cheers guys.
Nathan assessed our requirements and provided some good advice before giving us a very fair price. We accepted straight away, with an estimated 4-6 week start date, which they stuck to. Then, having said they'll be available to start the following Thursday, arrived 3 days early and asked if it was OK to get the job prepped. 70 square metres of block paving and a further 90 square metres of clearing concrete and roots, ready for our future veggie patch. The lads were all really friendly and courteous and they work fast! They always had time to answer questions and show me what was going on. We hit a drainage problem half way through the job, due to excess water from the driveway soaking away under the area they were going to pave. They explained the issue, gave me some options and once we decided the best course of action the lads were all over it. Installed drainage pipes, dug out all the wet soil and injected a concrete mix so everything was solid before the paving went in. Final finish was perfect. All levels spot on and we're really happy with everything NB provided. Would highly recommend. Once we manage to save up some funds for the front of the house, we'll be giving them a call.
Really impressed with the quality finish of our new drive, Sam and Tom were great to work with, and really worked hard to ensure we were happy. It was a 3-4 week project shared with my neighbour, and the lads minimised the disruption to access our shared driveway keeping us informed of the progress and when we needed to keep off the newly laid surface. I would highly recommend them.

We had the good fortune of having NB Contracts to give us a garden makeover. We had the ground levelled as it was on a slope. We then had a block paved patio laid with matching border around our shrub beds. We also had new turf for the new lawn shape. Our initial contact with Nathan went well as he listened to our requirements and gave us valuable advice. He came up with a very fair price and we agreed to give him the contract there and then. The work started within the timeframe discussed. Bert, Joe and Trevor, who came to work on the garden were professional, friendly and kept us informed through the different stages. They were also incredibly hard working. Bert had good ideas about the lawn shaping and retaining walls. Things that we wouldn’t have come up with on our own. We felt we could totally trust the guys to do a great job. A damp course problem revealed itself during the excavation stage. The benefit of having NB Contracts was that someone was sent straight over to solve the problem. We are not experts but it was clear that we had the correct depth and good quality layers of hard core, sand, turf and lovely dark top soil. At the end of every day they left us tidy and presentable which was something we appreciated. We also appreciated the promptness of arrival in the morning and the long hours they all worked. Overall they were experienced, professional, good communicators and the finished result was of an excellent quality. In fact, it exceeded all our expectations. We have just had our garden patio designed and finished by NB Contracts and what a great job and service we've had from start to finish. From start to finish we felt completely reassured with Nathan, Sharron and the team. After visiting their site, Nathan and Sharron showed us some samples of bricks and we felt completely reassured. Our driveway looks fantastic and even though there was a little snag after a couple of weeks, they came back to fix it immediately and we are now 100 percent happy with their work. We cannot recommend NB Contracts highly enough.
Our neighbours had their drive done a couple of years ago by NB and are still happy with it so we've just had ours finished by them. Really pleased with the work so far and will definitely get them back later in the year to do the patio.
Work commenced with replacing the ineffective soak-away that had been installed when the house was built with one of a size and depth large enough to overcome the clay sub-soil problem and ensuring future dispersal of intense rainfall. All existing surfacing cleared and removed from my property then excellent work in preparing and laying new block driveway with full attention given to every detail to ensure satisfaction and resulting in an outcome exceeding my expectations. The standard achieved speaks for itself and I have no hesitation in recommending the firm to anyone.
