Kenwood recently completed a damp course treatment for us. The team lead by Cameron was very hepful and explained all the steps involved in the process. They were professional and friendly and ensured that the property was cleaned up completely afterwards. Overall we were very pleased.
We lived in a property that had a Kenwood ventilator installed in the bedroom. This was installed by our landlord prior to moving in to prevent mould. While the device worked well the sound it made was absolutely awful. During the first week we hardly slept at all. I rang Kenwood and staff were very reluctant to answer questions about their products to people who were living with them. Finally I pushed for an answer as to wether the device was working correctly, given the amount of sound being produced. I was told it was supposed to make the sound equivalent of a laptop fan - yeah, right. An engineer came out to inspect and confirmed that this was the correct sound. Rude service and their products clearly lack a review process that actually involved humans.
I reached out for some help with damp issues. The lady on the phone was quite rude. She said she couldn’t find my address on her system. I mentioned my house was built about 10 years ago and the address was created then. She became dismissive and said “we don’t do houses less than 10 years old”. My house actually is more than 10 years old but it felt like she didn’t want to help or she didn’t need new business. She hang up. Terrible experience.
Jim (Head of Sales) was incredible to work with - quick, effective. Kenwood have given me a great price on my quite urgent damp work. It really needs doing, so I appreciate them making it affordable for the working professional. I would definitely recommend their services.
Top quality service by Kenwood. Great quality work led by Abdul and his boys . Clean and tidy and good comms and consideration of elderly neighbour. Good advice from Jim and Chris in the office as scope of works changed once work and floor excavations began. One issue to improve would be re-decoration advice after wall tanking . Current advice does not clearly state you have to wait 6 - 9 months to re tile a treated wall and this had obvious impacts on my planned programme of follow on works , contractors availability and my ability to rent out . AI research still says much less time is needed but I'm sticking with Kenwood advice so not to invalid their 20yr guarantee. Will definitely use them again on the next project which is coming soon

I requested a free survey from Kenwood and was visited promptly by Jim, who was very thorough and professional in his assessment, as well as being respectful of the space (and my new cat!). Shortly after, I received a reasonable quote with options, as well as attentive follow-up calls to discuss further. I am very pleased with the service offered. I have not yet proceeded with the works but hope to pick up the process again in the near future. Kenwood Damp Proofing came highly recommended as the best around from a trusted source.

Heard about Kenwood from a friend who had condensation and mould issues which were solved by fitting a condensation control unit. Easily arranged an inspection survey which was carried out in a very friendly and professional manner. During the survey it was pointed out which items were essential as opposed to 'nice to have'. I received a very comprehensive report/quotation and decided to go ahead with the essential parts of the recommendations. This was easily arranged the work carried out within 2 weeks. The installation was carried out by a very helpful, friendly and efficient team with no mess left behind. Only 1 minor issue, the loft was closed up with the light left on and some of the insulation not replaced, probably a simple oversight, but otherwise would have been 5 stars. Won't know how successful the results are until the colder weather arrives but I am confident that all will be ok.

Kenwood attended my property but having been commissioned by our builder, who refused to share the report with us the property owners, Kenwood also refused to share the report. Total waste of time. Now we need to commission another firm independently to resolve the issue.
Troy and his team from Kenwood did an amazing job both with the damp treatment and getting the flat cleaned up afterwards. However the customer service from the office left a lot to ask for. We signed up for insurance backed guarantee and were mis-sold on it also being for 20 years whereas it only lasts ten years. James, who we dealt with from the office, never mentioned that at the time of the sale and when we asked for an explanation afterwards, we were just ignored. To get the guarantee also took almost 2 months, despite promises of around 3 weeks and getting updates from Chris in the office was like pulling teeth. The most disappointing thing is that if we had received an apology and promise to make the length of the insurance backed guarantee more clear on kenwood’s website and/or in written correspondence at the start, we would have just accepted that mistakes happen and Kenwood is making sure this won’t happen again. Instead, they just ignored our email querying the insurance backed guarantee, suggesting future customers will most likely also be mis-sold just like us.

Awful customer service.... We had damp treated at our property approximately 5 years ago, the wall is just under 3 meters. Kenwood treated half the wall then but didn't test the other half of the wall for damp. After asking for the original survey, which stated half the wall was not tested. Which I was told rudely by Jim that this was in fact our fault and we should have asked for the whole wall to be tested. After he tried to claim the people that lived there before asked for it to not be tested!! I am not a damp surveyor, which is why I paid for it to be done by yourselves. After this conversation, I asked other companies for quotes, to which they all advised me I should used Kenwood again as if there is an issue in the middle of the wall, it could be a problem when I've used two different companies. So after asking for discount as a returning customer, I now regretfully used their services again. It took 3 visits for a very small wall to be finished, this is after a pipe was drilled through when removing plaster. When the layer of plaster was added, the pipes were moved, which meant the radiator didn't fit. Which I only found out weeks later when all decorating work was completed. When emailing Kenwood to let them know, they did not want to accept blame. After multiple replies from them (chat gpt I assume as most of the replies seemed completely irrelevant to my questions.) They offered £120 gesture of goodwill for decorating work, which I am still waiting to receive, regardless of sending my bank details. The customer service is awful, wherever they can take short cuts they clearly do. Whilst also accepting no responsibility for bad workmanship. I would definitely look for other companies!

Kenwood installed a new DPC for us when we moved in - they were friendly, professional, and just got on with the job. I was worried that having the work done while I was working from home would be really disruptive, but apart from some noise at points it was like they weren’t even here. They kept me updated about when there would be noise and offered to stop if I needed to take any work calls - which I really appreciated. The job was originally meant to take one day, but the bottom of the wall wasn’t drying quickly enough - instead of rushing the work, they came back the next day to finish it properly. Overall a great experience and I’d definitely recommend them.

Do not use this company. The workmen who completed the damp works left two doors to our home wide open, allowing someone to walk in and steal our belongings. Despite having time stamped video evidence from our neighbours, the company refused to accept any responsibility. This not only demonstrates extreme negligence from the workmen, but als complete dishonesty and lack of integrity from the company, including the CEO. Do not trust them at all.

Worst experience I've ever had with a company. Workers left for the day with our front door left wide open, causing someone to come in and steal items from our home. Absolutely refused to take any responsibility or liability and were an absolutely nightmare to deal with throughout.

We contacted Kenwoods due to a damp issue in one of the rental properties we manage and they organised everything with our tenants and communicated with us throughout. Terrible customer service and unfriendly company. You have to pay £180 just to have somebody come and quote. On the phone, they refuse to guarantee that if they recommended a solution that they would guarantee that the solution would resolve the problem. If you are contacting a specialist company like this, you expect them to have more confidence in the service that they are offering, especially if they’re charging you £180 just having a survey. They were also incredibly unhelpful about organising a day of a week to visit. Told me that they only visited my area on a particular day, which unfortunately I couldn’t make work on any week with my work commitments. I was made to feel on the phone like my business was an inconvenience to them. Clearly, they have plenty of work if they are so disinterested in new customers. I always make the effort to recommend people when I get good customer service but this was really worth reviewing as being poor.
I am extremely pleased with the damp proofing work recently carried out at my property by Liam and Lee (Boss Man)from Kenwood. From the initial arrival to completion of the job, both gentlemen were punctual, courteous, and highly professional. The standard of workmanship was excellent throughout, and they took great care to ensure everything was completed thoroughly and to a high quality. Liam and Lee were respectful of my home at all times, clearly knowledgeable in their work, and happy to answer any questions along the way. On completion, the area was left exceptionally clean and tidy, which was greatly appreciated. Liam and Lee are a real credit to Kenwood and exemplify the level of professionalism and care that customers hope for. If all tradespeople worked to this standard, it would make a significant difference. I would not hesitate to recommend Kenwood based on this experience.

It was advertised on the website that there would be a free survey. Upon calling, I was told my area was not included for free surveys and charged £180.

We reached out to Kenwood when we required damp and condensation works done for four of our flats. The work needed was quite complex but James (Jim) and the team were very helpful and knowledgable. Appalling ! They do not necessarily do a free survey as advertised .. I was charged £168 only for their ‘ surveyor ‘ to find damp where 3 other companies didn’t and then to provide an estimate 3 times more than any other company . They may have slick literature and proactive sales but this is smoke and mirrors for their atrocious customer services . Really folks … DON’T ! Would never use or recommend to anyone
Would not use! We moved into a property where Kenwood 4 years ago did just shy of £10k worth of damp proofing in a room. Since then the damp has risen and Kenwood have taken no responsibility and we've had multiple surveyors, each with completely different reports. Where work has taken place and is now in need of repair due to plaster cracking, they simply have refused or not responded to the direct questioning. The reports are attached. The report of issues with plumbing was a complete fabrication and the next surveyor was shocked that they had said this was the cause as the damp is all around the room and not located near the washing machine. When asking for a full report from the surveyors on site they do not provide instead get a very brief report that generally says 'not our fault, but we can quote'. We have had separate work done in the flat due to damp and used London Waterproofing Company which was impeccable.
Had a condensation system installed in late September so it's too early to comment on it's effectiveness. However needed a letter for my managing agents to confirm the vent was sealed and fire proof, but for whatever reason they haven't provided this, despite numerous requests by phone and email. Would advise making sure you receive all assurances before making any final payments.

Avoid at all costs. A property I look after and was booked in by my team has had MORE damp issues since they attended. The quotes were also suspect but needs must at the time. We've since had another independent professional out and she said she's never seen such poor work. Be very very careful using Kenwood... in fact, avoid at all costs.

Mould EVERYWHERE. We paid them thousands and they did a terrible job. When we asked them to fix it, they claimed we needed a service, which cost us a lot and did absolutely nothing. When we complained again, they said the unit they sold us was out of warranty, and tried to charge us more. What a joke. We ended up spending another £17K to fix a problem they didn't fix and refused to remediate. Never hire these people. It’s not worth it.

Kenwood did damp proofing in my flat. They came with a detailed plan and a very serious letter at the start, appearing professional and confident. But after a couple of months, the paint started coming off again. I spent around £2,000, yet the job failed quickly and has no long-term stability. We are both busy medical professionals with twin daughters, and dealing with them through endless back-and-forth emails was frustrating. Be careful, they appear serious, but in my experience, their work isn’t guaranteed, and they weren’t transparent.

Kenwood doesn't charge for quotes, which is fairly unique in this field. They understand damp and are able to sort issues out quickly and efficiently with minimum fuss leaving a good, clean job behind them.

Extremely efficient! I emailed, asking for a copy of a certificate of guarantee for work that had taken place a few years previously. I received the certificate within a couple of hours of sending my email. I can't believe how efficient this company is!!!!

We used this company for one of our managed properties and paid £1,900 for them to install two ventilators—one in the main bedroom and one in the smaller bedroom. Unfortunately, the installation made no difference to the issues we were trying to resolve. In fact, it made things worse: both rooms became noticeably colder during the winter months. I submitted an official complaint, but it was not taken seriously. They responded with laughter and then ignored a follow-up email entirely. We feel that we completely wasted £1,900. Based on our experience, I would strongly advise against using this company.
I sent a request and was called back immediately. After sending images, I got a call from Jim O'Malley who, after look v at our images, gave me some very helpful advice, advising that our problem probably isn't a damp issue and we need another professional. He could easily have come out, charged us a survey fee and then said the same thing but he didn't. Extremely helpful and professional and wouldn't hesitate recommending Kenwood for one second!

KENWOOD PLC carried out work for me installing 2 dehumidifiers to outside walls to my then property , cost was over £2000 , YES you heard me £2000 , to fit them ( noisy in the bedroom and I could not detect isolation switches to appliances ) My actual grievance which by the way I have discussed with Kenwood is the warranty that legally came with it . I have since sold the property which included the dehumidifiers as fixtures and fittings ( still brand new and unused ) I asked Kenwood to reassign the warranty to the new owners knowing there was a small administrative fee involved As a matter of courtesy most companies will transfer warranties free of charge within a time limit Not so Kenwood ,they are demanding a reassigning fee of £120 yes £120 ! As I am no longer the owner of the property I was only trying to help the new owners as a courtesy The new owners cannot afford this outrageous transfer fee. So to cap it they are left with two brand new appliances which are now effectively without any guarantee. As a former company Director with over 40 years dealing with selling services to the public ,good customer service is essential in maintaining relationships with your customers as after all they are your bread and butter. Some times it doesn’t hurt to be more flexible in various situations . Steve
I recently had a surveyor from Kenwood PLC, Mr. Marcus Ford, visit my property to inspect some damp issues. Unfortunately, during his visit, he accidentally broke the lid of my vintage Chinese vase that holds significant sentimental and monetary value. The incident occurred in the presence of my husband. Mr. Ford never offered a verbal apology, neither to me nor my husband and carried on with the survey as if nothing happened. I reported the incident the same day. After nearly a month and many chase ups, I haven't had the issue resolved for compensation. While I'm being inundated by marketing emails/calls, Kenwood failed to show the same urgency in addressing the damage caused by their employee. I am appalled by the whole experience and feel compelled to write a review to warn people of such ill practices by Kenwood PLC.
Kenwoods we're great at sorting out rising damp issue in our Victorian flat. Everything from the initial survey to the damp proofing was done professionally handled. 👍
Took radiators off the wall when doing the work and didn't do the valves up properly which meant our floors were completely flooded. They ignored us for months and refused to compensate us - it took so much time and effort trying to get a response that I gave up. The damp in the room is already coming back as well. Very disappointing service
I had damp proofing work carried out by Kenwood three years ago. At the time of quoting, I was assured that the warranty would remain valid even if I arranged my own plasterer, provided they used Kenwood’s recommended products and followed their guidelines. Due to a long wait time (over two months) for Kenwood's rendering service, I hired a reputable plasterer to complete the work as instructed. Three years later, a small patch has started bubbling, and it took over a month to get someone from Kenwood to inspect it. When they finally came, the issue was blamed either on the plastering (because it wasn’t done by them) or on an external gutter—without a proper investigation. Since then, I’ve received no response to follow-up emails, even if I mentioned that I will pay just to get it done. Additionally, the original team who carried out the damp work left my home in a mess, and did not complete the external injection, citing rain as an excuse and it's not necessary. This was supposed to be part of the job. Overall, I’ve been very disappointed with both the aftercare and the professionalism of the service. I would not recommend Kenwood, based on my experience.
I had to pay for a quote which came in at over £30,000 and came as a massive shock! This caused all kinds of problems with my exchange date and when inspected by 4 other specialists was total rubbish. I would advise caution when accepting any high price quote from this company.

Had a survey done by this company and they quoted for a massive amount of work... coming to nearly £30,000. I knew it to be rubbish and had another company come out who confirmed that the issues reported were a lie and that there was just one localised issue costing next to nothing to fix. Avoid. I also see what I can only assume to be fake 'positive' reviews here as they are not 'verified by Google'. I'll say it again: avoid. I'll be stating the same on their Trustpilot which, again, looks suspicious. IF you're not careful, they could take a lot of money from you for work not needed.

Do not use!! They are amazing when you call and come and do the work very well and tidy. Did an extended work on out flat. 2 years later all the walls are wet again, some with black mould. The company is completely ignoring us. They eventually send 2 guys that gave an excuse that it's condensation, which is not as the wall is cracking and water coming in. We are on out way to find legal advise as this is taking too much of out time nd we can't keep sleeping in this conditions

The inspector spent 30 seconds at the apartment. Report came back a week and half later as they said they did not have the correct email address yet i was already in email correspondance with them. The report was very basic and stated nothing was possible to alleviate the condensation as i have solid concrete walls. It's strange because there is already an old Kenwood PIV unit installed in the concrete wall (the inspector probably did not even notice). In addition, I have had the units installed in another flat of mine by a different company, that flat has solid concrete walls. Furthermore, I really was looking for someone the instal a bathroom fan in the glass but no mention of that. Altogether is was a pretty sloppy experience. I would have been v upset if i had paid for a report but thankfully i had this one for free. A waste of time still.

The 2 workers, Will and Dominic, took great care sheeting up my flooring and furniture. They were polite, personable, professional and worked incredibly hard, tidying up after themselves. The work itself, if carried out as specified by the very knowledgeable and patient surveyor, Michael, who answered umpteen questions, should last me 20 years, and I've paid extra for an insurance-backed guarantee. What's not impressive is being called 'mate' - I'm a female, and more to the point, you guys are professionals and I'm not your mate, nor is it a term I appreciate being called. I don't think many females would. Being asked to provide feedback on Jim, by Jim, before the job was even carried out, is just so wrong. Having to chase Jim, to then find out he's not looked at the email he asked me for, because he's gone on holiday, wasn't great. Having to chase a response to the email, which had to be passed to Travis, only for Travis not to come back to me because it hadn't been passed to him, wasn't great. Paying the deposit, being promised an email confirming this, but not getting this, so having to chase this, wasn't great. Being woken up on the final day of the works, by Jim, who asked me if I'd like to go ahead with the works was really poor management and incredibly unprofessional. Why on earth didn't he check his records before both disturbing me and looking unprofessional? Who does this? It gave a poor impression of the company as being money-chasers, not a company that actually cares about customers. I'd suggest Kenwood pls cuts out its middle layer of people who don't do what they say they will, arrange some customer service/customer orientation training for those guys if they're keeping them, and give their actual workmen a bonus, because the latter are the face of the company and in the customer's eyes, they're the ones doing the job and looking after Kenwood's customers.
Excellent service. I do not even know where to start with my gratitude to the company. From the first call to the completion of the work, I cannot fault them. It was easy to arrange an inspection and booking for the work. Survey and recommended work were simple to follow. The work was completed brilliantly and I could ask any questions I needed clarity on. When things needed to be rescheduled, it was no hassle. This company went over and above to ensure everything was completed. I would not hesitate to recommend Kenwood to anyone and I will certainly be using them again in the future! Thank you so much!

DO NOT go with this company. they said they gave a guarantee for the previous owners and not only have we received damp less then 10 years after they completed damp proofing, they were incredibly rude on the phone and they they refused to adhere to their guarantee due to one small clause. weren't open to talking about it and work purely on a fraud basis. avoid at all costs

Absolute bunch of crooks. A damp survey was requested by the mortgage lender and Kenwood’s report came back with tens of hundreds of pounds of ‘necessary’ remedial work. Luckily I sought a second opinion and the second company came round to take down most of the walls in the flat to prove that there was no damp whatsoever where Kenwood had marked as damp, for a fraction of the price. Don’t let Kenwoods scare you, I’ve since heard that this is often their tactic to create work for themselves where there is none. Because of their initial report the sale of my flat has been held up for more than a month now, and having to prove their report was a pack of lies by the removal of walls in my flat has been very distressing and intrusive considering there was nothing wrong in the first place.

buying a house atm and the property has had major works done in 2017 by Kenwood plc and then sold. They did the job and provided a 20 year warranty. However in the fine print of the warranty it says that the warranty is actually transferable once only and thats that - with the house being resold now - 13 years before the end of the warranty, it automatically becames void. We had to discover this as our survey exposed potential issues with the work. This now leaves the owners to deal with it and potentially slowing down the sale for months on a technicality. I see no reason the work guarantee being linked to the owner and non transferable but thats just me. Such a shame shady practices are still going on around :(

Excellence workmanship. The surveyor came in my house did the survey.The surveyor was informative and knowledgeable and a pleasure to communicate with. Next day I had all the recommended information emailed to me from the surveyor what work needs to be done for the damp.. I arranged with Kenwood for the work to be done ASAP. Within the same week they were able to do the rising damp on the wall. The guys arrived in time. Friendly and polite. They worked in an awkward position but the job was done absolutely great. They did a fantastic job on my damp proofing.They plastered the wall. Installed two fans for the condensation. It’s all done professionally. . I would recommend Kenwood PLC. Services. Work has a long term guaranteed which helps. Any damp problems I would certainly make them my first choice. No other. Workmanship time keeping courtesy tidiness . All round experience super perfect

Don't touch them with a barge poll! They come out and do a free survey with the intention of telling you the worst possible potential outcome. Completely biased and not at all true. They told me I had rising damp and it would cost £4,000 to fix when it was clear that it was penetrative damp from a broken gutter. Several other experts told me that you should fix the gutter first and then see if the problem persists. However, they just glibly told me it was rising damp. Their advice is completely to sell their services and not give good advice. Don't believe a word they say!!! I complained and they said they never received this. They chased to see if I wanted to go ahead. When I told Travis this he basically told me that I was stupid - great customer care I don't think!!!

Very Friendly, very communicative company. They originally quoted works for six days, but onsite found out that our walls were apparently particularly thick and hard, and works would likely last closer to eight days. After a conversation with the site manager James he quickly sent round a second team and they finished up in six after all. They were also very understanding and open to compensating for some minor damages that occured during the works, fixing what they could and financially compensating for what they couldn't. Special shoutout goes to Hamza for being particularly friendly and communicative, aswell as Yordan, Troy and Rowen for getting the works done on time. Time will speak for the quality of the works, but in terms of construction, I am a happy customer overall.

I contracted Kenwood to carry out a survey and works to allay condensation on a rental property. All staff members with whom I dealt were highly competent and efficient and the work was carried out to a very good and acceptable standard. I would highly recommend their services!

Edited: Brennon and Tom were very respectful they talked me through everything and put a lot of effort in leaving it clean after. However, the wall isn't totally level after replastering and it is too far out for me to open my kitchen draw. I'm not really sure what I'm going to do about that.
Kenwood Damp Proofing came highly recommended to me and Iin turn would highly recommend this company and their services to anyone. I was in the middle of buying what I thought looked like an immaculate property and thought would need very little work. However after Kenwood had completed their survey, nothing could have been further from the truth. After a thorough and detailed inspection, Kenwood brought to the surface many flaws from the minor to the major and provided the potential costs in a detailed report. The survey ended up with saving me thousands of pounds. Needless to say I did not go ahead with the purchase of the property The cost of the survey was definitely worth it.

Poor damp proofing work and Kenwood don’t even honour their guarantee. Unethical. Response to Kenwood Reply: It’s interesting that you say this in public reviews, but don’t actually practice this behaviour in reality. I contacted Kenwood and corresponded with Christopher A. The fact of the matter is that your company would not take ownership of its poor damp proofing work and came up with every excuse not to. As such, I contacted two different damp proofing companies to do an inspection/quote and had one of them correct Kenwood’s faulty work that they would not guarantee. Do better for clients next time.
Okay work done. However, I don’t appreciate that the flat was left a mess including damaging some of our furniture as well as leaving their trash behind. I think it was mostly the fault of the electrician subcontractor.
Had Kenwood to carry out our damp proof course and tanking recently. If you get Dominic and Will as your workers, you won't be disappointed. These guys were so tidy, considerate, cheerful and did a fantastic job. Very happy with the job from this company.

Following a L2 survey, I was asked to provide a damp and timber report with cost estimates. After research I paid Kenwood to do the report. The report was completed within 3 working days following the visit. Although I had sent them what the surveyor noticed and what they asked estimate on, they completely ignored those. They provided estimate on 1 out of 3 issues. I had to call them multiple times. They said they will come back to me but they haven't. They missed the walls that had no airbricks. They also missed 2 rooms with high humidity levels on the wall. Overall disappointing service and waste of money.
Kenwood came out to our new home to do damp proofing, tanking, and installation of their heat-retaining ventilation system. They arrived promptly, worked efficiently, and operated with a good degree of integrity and attention to detail. They've left the walls perfectly re-plastered, and did a great job cleaning up after the job too. Phil was great throughout the entire process, explaining every step to me, and giving loads of helpful advice. They did not initially respond very promptly to a subsequent request to come out and service one of the vents which appeared to have developed a fault. However, on chasing them, they came out and fixed it, as per the warranty, and now it's working perfectly again.
Quick and easy service from start to finish. They came and installed the vents very quickly with hardly any mess. They respected the property and the issue with condensation was resolved within a less than a day. Would 100% recommend them
The worst company I’ve ever had to deal with. Communication with them is Dreadful, reports have been sent incomplete, work has been of poor quality ‘which one of their own inspectors said to us when we had them come assess some issues we were having with their work’, and they drew up a proposed plan of work for my home, messed up and didn’t include a specific area, saying it was “inaccessible” when it had been opened up specifically for them and try to get you to pay for further work and avoid acknowledging their accountability and dreadful work. What a complete joke. There are much better companies and I wish I’d gone with one of them.

Although there are lots of damp companies out there and I did get many quotes, I decided on Kenwood because they were the most professional and i trusted them . They turned up prompt on the day begun the work . The work was carried out brilliantly by 2 men . On day 2 Daniel came to finish off the plaster . He was super friendly and took pride I he’s work . What stood out wad Daniel was so clean and cleaned up to the house as spotless. I have another 2 weeks then I can decorate . I have had a damp problem for years . It has never been solved and Ive just thrown money at it with no solution . I asked for a surveyor to come out and support me in getting to the bottom of it. Apart from telling me that it had all been incorrectly fitted by his own company he did little else and the problem is still there x when I phoned tne office Chris who came over as totallyaggressive rude and virtually called me a liar and would not listen to me at all x do not go near them. They have no idea what they are doing. I phoned another company and they told me they are always solving this company’s let downs. The same product is also half the price.
Good quality damp proofing work. Tom and Cian were a good team who explained clearly when there was an issue (or just to ensure I knew the walls were not square!) and worked professionally throughout. It's a shame that they had to travel so far and there isn't a South London team as it meant the day of work started very late due to travel time. Hopefully all the damp is gone now so I won't have to use Kenwood again but would recommend their services.

AVOID at all costs!!! I would give zero stars if i could…. You will regret using them. Worst provider I have ever used. EVER! We bought a new house this year which had damp and wood rot and we got some quotes for repair. Kenwood came in at the most expensive but we guessed you get what you pay for, and they seemed reputable, so we chose them. And coming from a family of builders and construction workers I know it’s important to get quality tradesmen. I got it VERY WRONG with Kenwood. From the moment we stepped back into our house it was left like a complete bomb site. No care was taken to protect anything. From holes in the wall (where they removed the doors stoppers but obviously kept slamming the door which caused the handle to puncture the wall), to plug sockets missing from the walls, light switches missing (carelessly thrown out), to radiator brackets missing, it was a complete nightmare. My dad, who is 50 years in construction couldn’t believe how the house was left. “Absolutely appalling he said - never I have seen a home left in this condition”. And that was just the start. We paid for a concrete floor to be laid. The floor was very seriously uneven in many places with dips and holes along the edges of the walls. To save themselves money, they didn’t pour the concrete up to the same level as the previous floor. So now I have a fireplace that is not even with the new floor. Now I have skirting boards that don’t reach the floor. And even when I bought new skirting boards, the largest boards weren't high enough to cover the gap where the wall meets the floor as they poured the floor so low. I had many workmen come to quote laying a wood / laminate floor who commented on how poorly the job was done. Some skirting had to fixed at an angle due to the sloppy work along the wall. I emailed and called Chris Alum from Kenwood. He would ignore me, takes weeks to respond when I chased him. He never answered my calls. He completely ghosted me. When he did finally take my call, He sent out inspectors to tell me the floor was fine. These inspectors wouldn’t even bring any tools to measure the slopes around the floor. They were confirming the floor was flat by just “looking at” it. It was such an exhausting and stressful experience. After months of trying to get Kenwood to fix the issues I gave up as they took two months to give me a report after the inspectors came and the report said that, I said there were no issues. That took 2 months!!!! I cried with frustration. Why would I seek a report if I said there were no issues. I was heavily pregnant and defeated. I went ahead and got our laminate floor laid. The gentleman laying the floor said the floor was uneven and may cause issues. Fast forward to now — we have major bubbles in the floor. The company who laid the floor said this is due to how the floor was underneath. They have sent me pictures to confirm how this is the issue. I have now sent Chris and Kenwood another email. My baby is due in 4 weeks and I need my floor fixed. I have copied the people who did the floor so Kenwood cannot come back and say they are lying like they did before. I am hoping to get this resolved, but given my experience before, I am worried. Last thing I need 4 weeks before our new baby arrives. Take my advice - go elsewhere and save yourself money and heartache.
Great service from Kenwood, responded within days and had a team working on our house in a week! The team kept everything well covered and there was barely any mess. Kenwood even had all our property details from 16 years back when they did previous work.

We had a condensation/damp problem in two rooms in our property. From the moment we contacted Kenwood they were very responsive. We had the free survey scheduled within 1 week of our initial phone call, receiving a report of the survey and quote for the works within 2 working days of the visit. The workman arrived on time and completed the full works within 2 hours. We have noticed a massive improvement in the affected rooms already. I would highly recommend Kenwood.

Stan and Arron arrived promptly for the tanking job on our dining room, which was scheduled to take two days. They were both friendly and professional and got stuck into it straight away. They were also patient with my many questions about what we could and couldn't do with the wall afterwards, etc. My husband, who works at home, overheard them discussing the job and said he was impressed with how much genuine pride they clearly take in their work. It took slightly longer than it was meant to - an extra two hours on a third day - for which they were very apologetic, but it was totally worth it to feel such a good, thorough job had been done.

The team did a nice job of protecting the wood flooring. They explained the steps throughout the damp proofing project, and completed the project in a timely fashion. The work was just completed yesterday, so decorating will need to be done in 4 weeks. It's difficult to rate on quality because it is new and not decorated, but it comes with a reasonable guarantee, and they have been very responsive to questions, so I'm certain that if there are problems (which I'm not expecting) they will deal with them in a timely fashion. It was a pleasure working with the team.
Very disappointed with this company. I paid £125 for a consultation, they provided me with a report which has completely missed the main source of damp. When I called to address this, immediately I was told the quote has expired I need to pay for another one. The person on the phone was quite abrupt in her tone. I can see this is just a money making scheme and you're not really here to provide a service to customers on damp issues. Think 10 times before paying them!
Kenwood are incredibly responsive (booked a survey and they conducted it the following day; subsequent damp work was carried out on the first date I suggested). The damp work was of a high standard and they cleaned up properly afterwards. Good value for money in my opinion. Would highly recommend their services.
Danny and Matt came to install a device for damp issues in our bedroom which had a lot of issues with mould and damp. They came prepared and installed the device faster than expected. Overpriced and Issue Still Not Resolved. I am a property manager and have sent them to different properties all coming back with identical reports and recommended remedial works.
Whilst they're the leading damp proofing company in UK, they don't act like it! They're super quick to send surveyors round to quote for work and take your money, but they don't seem to care when you try to get them back out to rectify work or even re-survey against their guarantee. I've been chasing them on and off since pre-covid (2019) to get my walls re-surveyed against their guarantee, and they never call me or email me back. It's ridiculous customer service! I don't have the time or energy to continuously call them every day!

As a new homeowner, i was quite overwhelmed with the damp I had noticed in several areas of my home and put off the issue for quite some time. I wish i hadn't, because it was super easy to book in a survey with Kenwood and they immediately got to the root of the problem. After I had my gutters cleaned, Kenwood applied damp proofing to the worst affected area and I no longer have to listen to the rain with anxiety! The damp upstairs was diagnosed as a condensation issue, which could be managed with a dehumidifer - no unnecessary treatments were recommended. The duo who applied the damp proofing downstairs were speedy and polite, and helpfully covered up my furniture to protect it from dust. I would highly recommend enlisting the help of Kenwood!

Very pleased with the work carried out by Kenwood Damp Proofing. The team took great care in insuring that mess was kept to a minimum and protected the house with matting and dust sheets. Kenwood did work on my property. It was a complete disaster. They trashed my daughters bedroom, didn’t seal anything and the dust went through my entire home. Totally devastating. If you read their 5* reviews they seem suspiciously similar. My experience was horrendous. They then denied any wrong doing and even their own staff who were originally supportive and apologetic after inspecting the damage suddenly went quiet and denied any involvement once management were involved. They actually sent me the “before” pictures of my carpet after trashing it saying they had left it the way they found it. To make matters worse I am now having to get a re-do from another company where they missed the damp. Such a different experience. Careful and sealed everything. A surveyor inspecting that everything was sufficiently sealed before work commenced and then ensuring that I was happy with it. Kenwood put up a few flimsy bits of cheap plastic and the same cheap plastic over the floor.

We booked Kenwood for a wood treatment on the house we were purchasing. The guys arrived before the time as I mentioned I was caught in a bit of a pickle with movers, they were so friendly and very flexible. They were also done before the time I expected. All round great service and would highly recommend them.
Used Kenwood about 4 years ago, still got damp, had surveyor out twice given different reasons every time why it’s happening anr that it’s not covered under warranty. So don’t bother if you think you get a warranty

The lead time from order was quick but the job took longer than expected due to having to drill through thick concrete but the team persevered and got the job done.
Kenwood carried out some damp course work in my flat. Communication with the office beforehand was good. The on site staff were friendly, considerate and highly professional. They were careful to take measures to minimise the spread of dust and to clean up thoroughly after completion. The work done appears to be of an excellent standard.
Turned up on time and covered the areas well but that’s where the good work ended. Threw away skirting board without telling us, didn’t even leave a small bit so we could take it to be cut again. Plastering was awful - patchy, dried and cracked - not feathered into old plaster and created white efflorescence powder everywhere. It hasn’t rained properly yet but I have a suspicion they haven’t even solved the damp issue. Super expensive. AVOID!
Rude customer service. I requested a quote and they were unwilling to openly discuss their fees or provide any explanation of how their pricing works. Not a good sign.
I chose Kenwood Damp because although their quote was more expensive than competitors they offered a 10 year guarantee and their quote appeared to be comprehensive. However, once on site they increased their quote, and a short time after they completed the works damp appeared through the walls with bubbling and flaking paint, wet patches on the walls, and water on the floor. I requested Kenwood Damp to come back and reinspect. After a series of phone calls and emails (their customer service is terrible) they eventually came back for re inspection but said there was no issue (even though there very visibly was). As the damp has got worse and worse I requested another re inspection. After more delays and much chasing by phone and email and threatened litigation they eventually re inspected. The engineer was visibly horrified by the state of the walls and could not explain why Kenwood Damp had only recommended partial damp proofing and tanking and not full wrap around, as the water was now being forced out the adjoining untreated wall between two treated walls. Kenwood Damp has refused to fix this free of charge despite the 10 year guarantee they offer for their works, although I very visibly have damp areas and the tanked walls are bubbling and flaking with wet patches. I am currently in the process of suing Kenwood Damp for their negligent and poor works and failure to uphold the guarantee.
Could not have had a better experience with Kenwood. They were efficient, professional and went above and beyond (from the surveyor, to the customer service team, damp specialists). I spoke others companies; who over quoted me and over complicated the issue. Where as Kenwood were trustworthy, straight forward, value for money. I cannot recommend them more!!!!
What a fantastic service! My positive interaction with Kenwood started with an inspection which was booked for the next day. The post inspection report with recommended treatment was sent on the same day. When Dominic and Will came on Monday morning I was sure that our basement will get the most professional treatment ever. And it did. This company used personal information from a survey 5 years prior to try to extort money for works that were not required. There was a leak 5 years prior, which was repaired and the wall shows no signs of any damp 5 years later, but Kenwood sent a quote for over £2000 to rectify an issue that was rectified - they also used this information without my consent - blatant GDPR breach

Both employees worked efficiently without fuss, and with notable dedication to doing a job well. The team used their own bespoke materials for the highest quality render and finish. They clearly knew what they were doing. We needed to damp proof two walls and as first step they did a survey. The gentleman arrived on time as promised and he did a very thorough review of not only the areas suspected of rising damp but also other areas in the room and house (when asked). On the day of actual damp proofing they came on time and did cover the entire room and path to outside the house and did a very detailed work and explained the process to us. The entire service was professional and high quality and for the price I believe you get the value. Highly recommended

Kenwood Damp Proofing carried out a remedy for our condensation and mould issue by installing a heat recovery ventilation system. The system is working well and the mould has gone. Kenwood's installation team were prompt, efficient and tidied up when the work was complete. We were pleased with the work and service carried out.

We have used Kenwood a couple of times and each time from the very beginning of getting someone out to view the issue and provide a quote to the workmen coming to carry out the work, Kenwood has been professional, responsive and efficient. Although they may not be the cheapest, in this case I believe you get what you pay for. They were able to come and do the work in a very reasonable time scale, their communication was great (bad traffic caused delays but I was kept informed of this) and the workmen took such good care of my house/protecting carpets and walls as they came in and out they really did seem to treat it as if it was their own. They were a pleasure to deal with and I have no hesitation in recommending Kenwood.
Good customer service with Kenwood. Detailed report once a free survey had been conducted (others wanted to charge for the survey). The two young men who came on the day to do the work were very tidy and sectioned off the rest of the room (it is an open plan lounge/dining room) to keep the dust contained. We had damp for a little while and although we are still waiting for the walls to completely finish drying all looks good and we are very happy.

I had a real problem with condensation and mould around my property and I needed to fix the problem as it was becoming a real issue. So I searched online and called several organisations who offered solutions but I just wasn't sure it would work as you do get people who just want to make a quick buck! So I was very concerned to say the least. However, I came across Kenwood Damp Proofing so I gave them a call to talk through my problems. Now I don't tend to make reviews, but what a fantastic organisation! Great cutomer support from beginning to end of the process. They sent surveyor out to take a look at what was the problem with the mould and damp and guy went the extra mile and took the time to check out all the problem areas around my house. He was very informed, professional and new what he was talking about. Shortly after the visit I received a detailed report and recommendations about what was needed specifically some vents and a PIV unit installed. As you could expect I called the customer services department, several times, to talk through the report and they were nothing but helpful to answer all my questions. After that I knew I had the right company, so I went ahead with the work and I didn't have to wait that long. They sent a couple engineers out to carry out the installation, both were professional and done a very clean and great job. In summary, the whole experience was great and more importantly I don't have any issues with condensation or mould around my house anymore so there equipment works. Travis was professional and guided me through what was required and why, he explained timescales and was patient with my many question. Once the survey report was produced, Kenwood were quick to arrange a Kenwood contractor to visit to fix the damp problem we had, on a Saturday no less for no extra cost! On the day, he arrived on time, was polite and friendly, and prepped the area well and to minimise dust in the rest of our our apartment. Explained what he was doing every step of the away and once he had finished, took the trouble to call me and let me know (we left him to it and went out!). Great job damp proofing a wall in our house. very polite helpful workers. They put up lots of protection and dust sheets before starting and as a result no mess to clean up.. Thought it would be finished in one day (Friday) but took longer so a different team came on Sat to get finished asap. We appreciated this rather than having to wait until Monday. All round very happy with quality work and workers.

I used Kenwood to tank a room in our lower ground floor flat. They had done another section of the flat 10 or so years prior and we've had no problems since so I was happy to use them again. Unfortunately the work was carried out to a poor standard and the damp problem was not resolved. Furthermore Kenwood are refusing to take responsibility for it and dealing with their apathetic service team who keep fobbing us off is a nightmare. Would definitely not use again.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - attended our property which was in the middle of refurbishment and left holes in the walls in every room in order to test for damp without any warning whatsoever. This will require us to redecorate significant portions of the property a substantial cost. Absolutely no warning of this at all even when we discussed with the representative before he started that the property was being redecorated. He then arrived at the conclusion that expensive and extensive re-plastering is required very quickly without a look outside at the external of the wall or considering what the actual cause might be - which was a very different conclusion to that reached by the qualified building surveyor who also used a damp metre and did not do the same level of damage. DO NOT USE.

Atrocious plastering , level of cleanliness appalling, items went missing, I could list more problems. They had to come back and do the whole job again. I would never use this company again. I was even given compensation for the shocking standard of plastering to fix my rising damp.

I was recommended Kenwood by my builder for some damp-proofing in my kitchen and have been so pleased with their work. It’s never nice having chunks of your plaster taken off, but they were so careful and respectful of my existing kitchen. They spent ages prepping the area, covering everything very carefully. They kept me informed of progress and the replastered walls are really neat and well-finished. My dealings with the surveyor and head office have also been excellent, being both efficient and helpful. If I ever needed damp-proofing again, I would definitely choose Kenwood.
Kenwood spent 3 days with us. There were various issues, outside of Kenwood's control, that resulted in delays, but we were kept fully informed throughout. The team were incredibly clean, tidy and courteous and a special mention goes to Phil who was fantastic.

Our booking was rearranged at the last minute because the company had too many staff on holiday, then when works did take place the contractors didn't turn up the next day, leaving our flat a total building site! We tried calling the company regularly to understand what was going on with no response. Would not use again

We had considerable condensation in our house so we asked Kenwood to install humidivents and the passive ventilator. The humidity has now dropped by at least 20% which is a vast improvement. I would recommend the products and Kenwood to friends and family.
We had damp proofing undertaken in the ground floor of our flat and it has completely removed the issue - no more condensation, mould or damp. The free survey was really useful and the works were completed in about three days, so was great to get everything done quickly and effectively.

Kenwood were able to quickly survey and provide the work to damp proof a property that we live in. They have provided a report and advice for the future and the problem has not returned.
We had a condensation problem and therefore had the following items installed by Kenwood. -1 x Passive ventilator -1 x Condensation control positive input unit -1 x Kenwood humidivent system We also had our loft sprayed for woodworm. The installers arrived on time, were wearing masks and were polite. After the installation the condensation units needed adjusting and Kenwood responded promptly to our emails and sent someone over quickly who was again on time and made the necessary adjustments. The condensation problem has now improved.
Had a surveyor come, and insist that we needed 2 air ventilation systems installed, at a small fortune. Once agreed, we got the works booked in. The workmen when they arrived at the property, immediately stated that the property was not suitable for air ventilations. Apparently this happens time and time again, that the surveyors suggest somewhere for the air ventilation to be fitted, which is not fit for purpose. Wasting everyones time and your money. Do not go with this company.
Our experience was both good and bad. The quality of work was very good however there were hidden costs that we did not expect. They were in the fine print but we would have appreciated them highlighting them at the time of the survey so we were not taken by surprise.
Everything has been great so far. Kenwood were very responsive and quick to do the job. They even came on the weekend as we wanted to problem solved asap. Hopefully the damp proof course we had installed works and reduces the damp in our fireplace.

I had a damp issue that I initially got a tradesman to deal with, but much to my dismay, there was still dampness detected. As I was selling the property, I then got Kenwood to redo the work and know that the problem is definitely sorted and comes with a 20 year guarantee. The work was completed on time with walls made good and area left clean. Excellent communications throughout and polite and pleasant staff. My only regret is getting my tradesman involved to begin with as I could have saved myself unnecessary expense. Would definitely recommend Kenwood.

Kenwood were recommended to us by the estate agents managing our flat purchase, and we were very happy with their service. They carried out a free inspection to estimate the cost of the damp works that were required, and after the purchase they carried out the job over three days to a high standard.
Despite timing being critical due to the commencement of a tenancy (which was made clear on instruction), they told me after the first day that the whole job was delayed and would take much longer than planned. I had to pay for my tenants to stay in an airbnb longer until their work was finished. When they left the skirting boards in the affected area were put back and left in the most atrocious / shoddy way, with big gaps and cracks - so unprofessional. I had a quote from another contractor to redo the skirting boards back properly and wanted to deduct this amount from final payment (and was prepared to swallow the consequential costs of their delay with the tenants airbnb) but this only resulted in an aggressive refusal. I was shocked how quickly the customer service turned on me, under the initial friendliness to get instructed really there was no care for customer service at all.
They get the job done quick and clearly explain what works need to be completed. You get a fully broken down quote. Lead in times are not very long either.

They were very fast and efficient. Our builders found more damp in a different area to the original scheduled to be done. Kenwood immediatelu surveyed the area and carried out the works along with the original works This stopped delaying the refurbishment works.
I engaged them for damp survey in early December 2020. The (guy) Kenwood sent arrived late ( I was given a 2 hour slot ). Not only the employee from Kenwood was late, rude and just started working around the house as his own property (seriously?) - no manners (for the record, in one of the 3 bedrooms my cousin was still sleeping) and he did not asking / nor knocking on doors - can we please have some manners? Additionally, when they do a damp survey, expect some wholes in your plasterboard ... they claim that is part of the survey, so they do not fix it for you... I am sure Kenwood is a big company, and I read good reviews thus I called them - but I definitely would *NOT* recommend Kenwood Damp Proofing PLC to any of my best friends or family. Happy 2021!

We used Kenwood for damp-proofing on our flat in NW2 area. I have to say they were excellent! Very responsive and knowledgeable. We called them out for a secondary survey to double check which walls needed doing, which was no bother at all. Fantastic experience with this company, I tried several others for quotes and never even received a call back. By contrast I had a call straight back from Kenwood, a free surveyor on the day after, a quote the day after that and an offer of a Saturday appointment the same week. Well if you want more than that I don't know what to say ..... The guys turned up on site a little early so no waiting about, they were fully briefed on what needed to be done so no need for me to walk them through it. They covered everything in plastic to protect the furniture carpet etc. The Job was done in good time, they tidied up, where polite and professional, the house was left clean and they explained how everything worked. Kenwood are brilliant. The survey and free quote for work was informative, and transparent. They charge a fixed rate for works, which is very reassuring. Customer service is excellent - they clearly have a great system for managing jobs. I never had to explain what was happening to anyone when I called the customer service line - someone was assigned to my case and had all the information in front of them. The professionals that came to do the work were exceptional. They did exactly what was promised. They were careful with floors and put down protective covering. They put a polythene curtain at the top of the stairs to prevent dust getting upstairs. They were knowledgable, friendly, informative, worked diligently, arrived on time, and were communicative throughout. I love that Kenwood doesn’t subcontract. Workers arrived in a Kenwood van with Kenwood sweatshirts on, which was very reassuring. If you have damp proofing work that needs doing, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. Working with Louise at HQ was easy and efficient and she was more than happy to answer any queries or help with the financing services. Our contractors, Carl and Sev, were amazing! Overall, I felt confident choosing Kenwood as they were recommended by the Estate Agents. From start to finish, I was happy with the guys who carried out the damp proof repair wall. I was kept informed throughout the stages and when to expect them on the scheduled date. They covered the surfaces upon arrival where they worked and kept their 2 metre distance which made me comfortable. I have still given them 5 stars but had some initial issue when booking the actual appointment with the customer service due to the vendors availability.

What a great service! We arranged an inspection some time ago but were unable to carry out the work until now. On very short notice Kenwood sprung into action. Arrived early and completed the job swiftly with minimum disruption - clearing the site as they went and leaving little trace of their labours save for a fine looking finish to the work they were contracted to do. We could not be more pleased.

About 5 minutes ago, one of your Kenwood employees crossed the road from the house where he was working, walked along a bit to a drain on the other side of the road - Then poured a large volume of liquid down it i.e. I imagine chemicals to block up someone else's drain. He then stood up, looked around to see if anyone was watching him, and walked back across the road and along a bit back to the house. I took photographs. Nice ethos that your employees have, to consider the environment & other neighbours.

Right from the start Kenwood were very responsive. They came & gave a no obligation quote - which i decided to proceed with. The two guys that did the work at my clinic were both very friendly & professional. I had to leave them to do the work & gave them a key to lock up with. They called when they were leaving & safely locked the door & closed the window. Kenwood expect to damage your paint during survey. I booked a free damp survey with Kenwood as it appeared from reviews and their website that they are a reputable company, and we had clear signs of damp on one wall in particular in the front bedroom of a two bedroom flat. The surveyor attended and began to use a damp testing device against the walls to test for damp throughout the flat. I noticed at the time that he was making quite a banging noise when he used the device against the walls, but I assumed that he was a professional and he knew what he was doing, so I foolishly let him get on with the job. He then told me he would send me a quote by email and left. It was when he left that I noticed that he had left tens of viable snakebite-like marks all over the walls of the flat. These marks were on almost all walls throughout the flat, even solid brick walls which show no signs of damp. We recently had the flat redecorated (some walls with dark pain) and the marks are deep enough to had gone down to the white primer on most, and on some to the plaster. We are still finding more places that marks we made now. I called Kenwood regarding the damaged caused by their surveyor, expecting to get an apology for the inconvenience caused and an offer to make good the issue. Instead I was asked what I expected would happen when testing for damp, and that it is surely to be expected that damage is caused to walls and paintwork when carrying out the free survey. They basically told me that this is part and parcel of having someone come to do a free survey from Kenwood. The staff members I spoke to were very rude and condescending, and basically told me to get over it. I then reached out by email with pictures of the damage hoping I would get someone with more empathy or logic, but I was ignored. Next, I took to Facebook to see if I could raise someone with sense this way, again I was ignored (although I can see the message was read). I was never informed that damage to my walls might be the outcome of a free survey, I am unable to see it written anywhere on their website that it is suggested that a visit will result in the requirement to decorate. The ironic part is that when I received the quote the wall I called them about, and spoke to the attending surveyor about was not included in the quote. I was later told that it's because they couldn't tell what's behind the plaster on the external brick wall - even though the prongs of the damp testing device made it most of the way into the brickwork. After the visit from Kenwood I am worse off. I still have damp, and now I have to get someone in to repair the paintwork throughout the flat.

Shocking lack of understanding of the problem. Installed their noisy 40db 'humidivent' directly next to a bed in a bedroom to combat an issue of rising damp occuring only on an exterior wall at floor level. Humidity levels in the flat had never reached above 55%, which is insufficient to be causing damp by condensation. No communication, and the vent has been hard-wired into the mains so no switch can be used to prevent the noise at night. Very concerning that as a specialist they cannot recognise different types of damp, and fix the root problem.
Very efficient service from Kenwood and their advice proved invaluable. Had a ventilation system installed on their recommendation and it's made all the difference.
Don’t use Kenwood plc! They left my house in a state after completing the work. Terrible customer service. If you question anything they are very aggressive. They will also find ways to avoid get out of the guarantee by refusing to accept that a problem relates to it. AVOID THEM! In response to your response below - I have corresponded with you through my email. you worked on my place in Oct 2019. I have photos of the thick dust across my house and mess left which also affected my neighbours.
0 Stars, Rude and obnoxious customer service. Was given false information. They were not willing to help check and reassess the damp area. Wasted £3000 on having work done that was not required. They had no sympathy and tried to make me pay for another survey. Called and spoke to several people , none of which were willing to listen and try and resolve the situation. I am 8 months pregnant with horrendous Damp in my front room that they are refusing to help with unless I pay them. The Guy on the phone actually had the cheek to say. '' why would you even want us to come and look again if we gave you wrong information the first time'' I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMED AVOIDING TO USE THIS COMPANY AS THE SERVICE IS SHOCKING. The 1st photo shows the Damp when it was checked by Kenwood. The 2nd and 3rd are after the work that was recommended to be done was completed. The initial consultation gave us a good idea of the work that needed doing and they answered multiple queries by email and phone in a very responsive manner. Worst experience, wouldn't recomend. After a day waiting indoors they failed to show. I've called them and I've been told tha the "guy" its sick and can't do the work on the day. For next appointment they haven't been called just show up at the door. The work mens went inside with their boots dirty on my carpet and if this wasn't enough when they brought their tools inside these have just been put on the carpet without the protecting plastic underneath . If this wasn't enough on the bedroom the wardrobe door was open (I remember closing it)and they drilled ot top of it and a generous amount of dust ended up on my clothes . To top up all this I have noticed some things missing from one of the bedrooms , as I have no evidence I can't say more. Wouldn't recomend .

I have used the services of Kenwood Plc twice, in November this year (2019) for damp proofing a wall during a refurbishment, and in December - for installing an air re-circulation fan in a Victorian property to assist with managing condensation/dampness and prevent mold growth. I was very impressed with the service both times. We had an initial (free) visit from a qualified surveyor, who explained in great detail the origin of the problems we were having , and outlined several management options. There was no hard sell, just professional advice. We took time to choose one of the options. Then came a quote for the work that we chose, then completion of the work itself. Both times the work teams were corteous, experienced and tidy. The service guarantee arrived a few days later. No pressure to spend money, no gimmicky offers, just good quality service that we were only too happy to pay for. Can't recommend them enough!

I've just used Kenwood to repair the damp proof to the side of our house, everyone who has been in contact with me has been friendly and professional. Quote was given in a timely fashion after the guy had done the damp survey and the job was booked in within a couple of weeks. The guys who arrived to complete the work, worked quickly, efficiently and considering the nature of the work left the place looking extremely tidy afterwards. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company and the people who work for them again.

Now the work is complete I cannot get Kenwood to respond with my guarantee paperwork which I need urgently as a condition of my mortgage. Additionally, damage to my property was sustained during the job - Kenwood deny any wrong doing even though they were literally the only people in the house during the period. Up to the end of the job the experience had been good but it's taken a complete nose-dive now. Wish I had done more research and read all of the reviews before selecting them - poor customer service is not a experience unique to me it would seem. E7 9DP if anyone is reading this..
Horrible! Late for the appointment and therefore leave the work undone and didn’t even show up for the next two, without any notice. A complete waste of time and strongly advice everyone to avoid.
Nice guy from Kenwood gave me good advice but their free report isn't a report, it's just a quote. There is no overview of condition or details. "We came to your property and this is the work that needs doing" Not a free report, just a quote.
Kenwood are one of the most expensive around and I was willing to pay the inflated price as they had a good reputation. However I wish I hadn't. They have managed to get plaster everywhere meaning the whole room now needs re-paining rather than just the one wall which I can accept given the work they are doing however what i cant accept is that Two weeks after the work has been done there are cracks in the plaster which they refuse to look at despite the fact that they are bigger than what I would consider the "hairline" cracks which they mention in the report. the gentleman I spoke to was incredibly short and rude with me and completely dismissed my concerns basically implying that I don't know what I am talking about, despite the fact that a professional painter/decorator has refused to touch the wall while it is like this because if he does anything to fix the cracks it will void my guarantee with Kenwood to which the response from Kenwood was "get a different painter". this is a company with no concern for its customers after the money is in the bank! Avoid using them

The men were very professional and accommodating and took great care to protect our furniture while the work was progressing. First and foremost, the team did a great job tanking part of our basement and treating existing damp. I very much appreciated the efforts they went to in order to protect our carpets and soft furnishings and exposed shelves and counter tops. There were some minor issues around communication with the team and the job took a few days longer than initially anticipated, but the managers at head office were quick to rectify these issues when they were raised. I would have them back.

Kenwood visited the property very soon after I contacted them, advised on how best to address it and subsequently treated the house. The whole process was timely and done to a very good standard. They also provided good advice going forward regarding laying carpet and painting the areas they had worked on. They were thorough in their efforts to keep the house clean and put up lots of protective materials over shelving, the floors, and things on the wall. When they left everything was tidy and clean. Comprehensive survey followed up by quick install booking of one week and very quick and tidy installation work.
I needed a survey done in relation to penetrating damp coming from the roof, in 3 different locations. Consequently as Kenwood could not do the work they refused to generate a survey. When discussing this with a man called Steve who is the biggest bell end in the world. Kenwood could have just sent me a two sentence e mail which could save me lots of time and grief. He refused to do it was rude and laughed down the phone. Steve is a complete idiot and maybe one day he may get a life.

I had a situation over a year ago where i thought i had damp in my extension and Kenwood Surveyor came out and checked it and told me it was not damp and gave me their opinion on of what it could be . The workman ship is ok but I am fuming at the state the house was left in. I had arranged for the works to be completed whilst I was away. Assured that the dust covers would be used etc I was content in knowing I would have to have a clean when they were finished for the floors etc. But didn’t expect all of my clothes to be in need to re- washing, many shoes ruined with dust, the vaccume cleaner to be used then just returned to the cupboard coated in dust. We have a large dry cleaning bill, and after a 28 hr flight and travel back home, we did not expect 4hrs of cleaning, including re making the bed again and washing all the clothes we originally sorted to avoid the stress upon return. DO NOT USE. Not trustworthy, and bully as per the other reviews.

Kenwood were highly professional, telling us when they would turn up and completing both bedrooms quickly to a high standard. They were even quicker than the overall time estimated and the whole administration was seamless from booking through to completion. They left us with a neatly installed solution in both of our flat’s bedrooms to combat damp and ensured the work area was left clean and tidy.
This Company let me down not once, but twice. On the first occasion they were due to arrive between 1 and 2pm and when they hadn't arrived long after 3, I had no choice but to phone them and ask them where they were. I was told they had broken down but they were unable to give a reason why they had not phoned to let me know. I was annoyed but couldn't cancel them because I had already paid a deposit so I made a new appointment for the following week for the same time in the afternoon. When the day came, despite their assurances that they would ring me on my mobile if the time changed, they arrived at 9.30 in the morning with No prior warning. As mornings are not possible for me I had to send them away and tell them to come back at the time arranged which in the end is what happened. Because of these issues with lack of communication within this Company I could never recommend them, they caused me a lot of inconvenience.
just had a condensation system installed, due to damp and dark marks over all rooms on top floor...very good, clean and professional workmen. treated them to a tea, and that got them whistling while they worked. electrician followed soon after and job was complete within 3 hours on first contact..very good..

Friendly but totally disorganised and messy. Booked a consultation, called to confirm, and they had no record of the booking. After a lot of moaning managed to get the same slot. Got quote and booked works. Work due to start on the Monday, get a call Friday evening saying they can't do it. Rebooked for Tuesday and had to give them my keys as could not work form home again. Got home Tuesday night, house left filthy, damaged skirting and scuff marks all over the walls all the way down the hall way to the front door. Took me 3 hours to clean up. Called to complain, still waiting for their email. 100% will NOT want recommend to anyone.

Had work completed Thursday 16 August 2018. Credit given to Tom and Luis who worked efficiently together to a high standard. The work area was kept clean at all times and they made every effort for us to be able to access the kitchen safely at the end of each day . Affable at all times and any concerns that we had throughout the two days were answered. Overall happy with the completed works and would definitely recommend Kenwood as a company with the two great chaps Tom and Luis we had to do our damp proofing. 🙂

With Kenwood the survey to check for areas of damp was free and the quote was presented clearly and professionally. They were able to do the work on the dates requested in the time frame they had said. Nervously left Kenwood the keys to my recently purchased house to undertake damp & timber work!! Popped in twice to find the house covered in sheets, all left neat and tidy. The work was done well, I would recommend them.
Of the 5 damp proofing specialists I contacted to arrange a quote 2 said I was not in their coverage area and advised against using Kenwood? 3 agreed to survey my property and provide a quote. The 1st company didn't show up, the 2nd was Kenwood who produced a full survey and provided a reasonable quote, and the 3rd and final company quoted £700 more than Kenwood and advised that they would not be able to the wall under the stairs. So the the third company would charge more for doing less work? So naturally Kenwood got the job, they were onsite within one week of the survey date. Kenwood provided clear instructions on how the site needed to be prepared and also clearly explained risks associated with site difficulties. I am very satisfied with the speed and the care taken whilst working at my property. The team also cleaned up really well. So five stars are well deserved. I would advise to always get at least three quotes as you might be surprised by who provides the best value for money despite preconceptions.

I was happy to proceed with the damp proof course needed at a reasonable price. The work was carried out efficiently to a high standard. I recently had Kenwood Damp Proofing undertake a damp proofing course for us. The guys were extremely efficient, from booking in a survey to starting and finishing the works. From first contact with them to finished works, it was one week. The guys on site here were very friendly, gave me regular updates of how things were going and did a great job of re-plastering after the damp proofing was done. It was also very helpful being able to pay per month with no interest for these works. Definitely recommend Kenwood.
It's proved almost impossible for Kenwood to get keys from the surveyor. Every time I spoke with Karen she was rude and really has no sense of customer service. Always talking over me and other who spoke to her. I dont know how Kenwood expect to grow / maintain there customer base with such rude staff. Welcome done Karen you received 1 star for your company.

I would highly recommend Kenwood's based on the damp proofing work undertaken at our house on 28th/30th June 2018, From the start when they undertook the inspection to the completion they were very helpful. Spoke with the company leading up to the work to clarify some issues regarding the work and helpful advice provided. The original team booked to conduct the work could come but Kenwood's rang the day before to explain and said another team would be diverted. This team, Phil and Kane, arrived on time and did a brilliant job. I have been around plastered a long time and Phil's work, ably assisted by Kane was outstanding. Covered all wooden floor before commencing the work and cleaned up after. What is a very messy job (three rooms) was done to a high standard.

Continued failure to deal with ongoing problems under the guarantee (as their original work failed to fix the issues). Terrible communications. Failed to show up to appointments. I have nothing good to say about them I'm afraid. Having spent literally about 5 years trying to get these issues addressed, I am seriously considering legal action against them. I suggest you avoid them.
Don't touch this company, or any of the other timber and damp companies. They are cashing-in on the ignorance of us homeowners. We had them look at our house and what they recommended was removing plaster, injecting chemicals, applying cement render and replacing lots of good timber, and they quoted £1000's to do it!!! Other similar companies, also offering 'free surveys', wanted to do the same sort of things, but there were differences in their recommendations which made us suspicious. So, we did some research. In the end we paid an independent RICS qualified surveyor who specialises in timber/damp and historic buildings to look at our house. The difference with what Kenwood's were recommending was like chalk and cheese!! All we had to do was lower the outside ground level, replace some rotten timber, sort-out a rainwater ingress, replace some cement render (that someone had put on the inside walls) with lime plaster, and basically allow the house to breathe and dry out, which it has now done!! We have had no more problems, no chemicals were used and it ended-up being so much cheaper.
They are happy to take your money the damp will prob come bk worse . You will get the run around it will become your fault that damp has returned . Get second qoute . I personally recomend a dehumidifier as thats what they will tell you to use after you pay the best part of ten grand
Seriously some the most shambolic service i have ever come across. Rude staff and shoddy contractors, they sent workmen who are totally careless and incompetent of my belongings. i would avoid them and go with a company that actually cares about your business and belongings.
Kenwood completed damp proof work to the property. I can't comment on the effectiveness of the damp proofing as yet however the service and the workmen are very professional. The workmen kept a very clean site and cleared up after the work was completed.
It is was possible to give no stars I would. We had a severe condensation issue and Kenwood recommended the installation of an active vent in the loft and passive vents in 5 rooms. If I had known at the time that their definition of a passive vent would amount to a hole in the wall with a £2 vent cover glued to the inside I would have never agree the £1500 price tag. Looking in the vent we can see the house across the way and all it does is allow light, noise and howling wind into the rooms. Due to issues with the sourcing of white pipes despite me confirming this prior to the installation, it took them 2 days to install the passive vents and the work was done poorly with the pipes too short and showing the brick work. So far not very satisfied with the customer service. They keep saying they will call me back and I have to keep chasing them. I feel sick that I have spend £1500 on what I would estimate to be a £200 solution and thats on a good day. I would recommend you take your wallet and run as fast as you can. Avoid at all costs. **Update to Kenwood Thank you for your feedback but I really think you need to check your facts. You stated that the open vents were what was shown in the quotes, this is untrue. Attached is a screen grab of the vent shown in the quote. The one in the quote seemed to be more of an actual vent and could be closed and as you can see area exposed is also a lot less than the vents you installed. The one you installed a £2 vents cover with nothing behind it. Secondly the replacements vents are fractionally better but can not be closed. This was confirmed by your team that installed them. I was also left with significant damage where they needed to rip off the plastic vents covers you installed the first time around and since these new vents are smaller and round the damage is really obvious. Also when you installed 5 vents how is this the smallest part of the job. So overall still not happy.
We have used Kenwood for the second time on two different properties. Both times they have been professional, efficient and work carried out to a high standard. Would definitely recommend them.
From the moment I called the office the service has been great. After initial inspection and a second - I had more questions, everyone was very helpful and arrived when they said they would. I was happy with the quote which I thought was reasonable. The team that carriedout the work were very polite and tidy and did a great job.
The team from Kenwood did a great job damp-proofing; arrived on time and finished on schedule doing the work as set out. The company was always very communicative and prompt in dealing with any questions I had and also good at following up to make sure all was OK.
SHAME ON THIS COMPANY... All they care about is getting your money, they do not care for there customers or for the work they do - which results in complete bodge job which needs to be rectified by another tradesman! DO NOT USE THEM!
Don’t ever use this company!! They don’t deserve any stars. They are disgusting the way they have treated me and tried bullying me because I’m a young girl. The works they have done are awful and will now have to pay for the works to be re-done. They take ages to reply to an email and then threaten me to make payment within 7 days or be taken to county court! Surprising as their builders don’t even turn up on time and even the project surveyor after my complaint couldn’t be bothered to turn up on the date booked!
Terrible. AVOID. Guarantee worthless. Damp coming through 6 years after work done. I am a career property developer and have dealt with damp many times. Surveyor first patronised me by introducing me to the “clever little box” (it’s a damp meter, thank you, I’m a woman, not a child) Then tried to tell me the wall was dry by measuring it with damp meter too high. I made him do it again at the bottom of the wall and it read 40% moisture. Not to mention it’s also wet to the touch and dark in colour with salt stains. He told me I was being argumentative because I didn’t accept his evaluation. Two other independent surveyors have confirmed that the joint between Kenwood’s tanking system and adjacent wall does not overlap as it should, and thus has failed. This is logical and sensible. However, Kenwood surveyor tried to tell me that the problem was not their tanking system, but actually my plaster coat on top. He actually said that it’s ok for their tanking to be wet because “tanking is not designed to be waterproof”, and actually “plaster is what keeps damp out”, rather than the tanking. Therefore if there is damp coming through it is because my plaster has failed, rather than their tanking. Because it’s ok for tanking to be wet. ??!? It’s just rubbish! Simply not true. What is tanking if not a water proofing system? Their tanking behind the plaster is soaking wet to the touch. And if plaster does damp proof then why did you install tanking in the first place? It’s just rubbish and trying to complicate and distract from the real problem. Also told me their guarantee on their tanking in another part of the flat is null and void because it has had dot and dab plasterboard put on it. Never mind the fact that their tanking underneath is full of cracks and salts and is blown. Of course it’s the plasterboard to blame!!! Ridiculous. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. ps to the administrator- you may not find my name on your system because I have purchased the transfer of guarantee into my name from the previous owner of the flat. I paid Kenwood £120 for this. I would like this to be refunded please because the guarantee is worthless. I have also contacted trading standards and will be writing a formal letter to request compensation due to breach of contract.
Really pleased with the level of service that we received and the quality of the work. Everyone I spoke to throughout the process was very helpful and the guys that performed the job clearly respected our property, making sure everywhere else was well protected. Would happily recommend them.
Terrible experience using this company. They suggested we get a ventilation system installed to tackle condensation. It was really poorly installed by their electrician and so noisy that had to be removed. It was a total rip off. Beware using this company.

This company does not deserve even one star. It did not fix the problem and just make the damp goes higher. Their warranty is useless as you will never be able to speak to everyone. I tried calling, writing letters and emails and got no reply.
Only 1 star as Google will not allow me to give any lower. We arranged a "fast free damp survey" following which Kenwood's website misleadingly states that they can provide a full report. After the surveyor visited they flatly refused to provide anything in writing at all; ignoring our emails to their customer service department and when we rang them, saying that as there was no further work to be done they would not provide it. Avoid these time wasters at all costs.

The company doesn’t even deserve a star. We’ve had problems in our back bedroom. Two cold external walls. When they said they could fix it - great. My sons clothes won’t be damp anymore and he won’t need to sleep with loads of layers. Apparently fitting a vent to an outside wall was to cure the problem. There is no insulation to the walls. Now it is winter. The room is an iceberg and I am forced to move my son into another bedroom. They will not come and have a look until 3 weeks time!! The staff on the phone are rude and have a don’t care attitude. Saying that when the vent was installed. Making a hole in the wall- they said they would fill it in the next day!! Also telling me it would make no difference to the temperature in the room- are you really telling me having a hole in the wall won’t change the temperature any different?? I had to basically beg them to finish the job so my son didn’t have a hole in the wall!! Get other opinions from a more professional company. !

As an independent firm of chartered surveyors, we are constantly approached by people who have had quotes from Kenwood and other PCA members offering damp proofing. In almost every case, 'diagnosis' is made within minutes with a damp meter (which does not measure damp and which 3 British Standards say cannot be used to diagnose moisture levels in building materials). False 'qualifications' of CSRT and CSSW are used which are meaningless - they have no academic status. Many quotes are for upwards of £10,000. In EVERY case, we find there is no 'rising damp' and a variety of solutions which usually include fixing broken drains, gutters and downpipes, together with better ventilation. NONE of those quoted by Kenwood and others ( and we hold these quotes on file as evidence of the fraudulent nature of the quotes ) needed any damp work undertaken, and we have helped these home owners and purchasers to achieve warm dry buildings without any recourse to damp proofing. The use of damp proofing companies 'accredited' by the Property Care Association, which is a chemical sales group, should be avoided. As surveyors we have NEVER, in many thousands of surveys, needed to damp proof a building - every single case of 'dampness' is easily diagnosed and solved without recourse to chemicals. Google 'the fraud of damp proofing' to learn more.
Prompt service with good workmanship and cleaned up after which is helpful. My only negative was when they 'destroyed' the skirting board and told me that it was plastic and not wood so it wouldn't be suitable after.....as I'd specified the definitely wood skirting board in the first place when we renovated the house a few years back...... felt like the 'silly female'. Anyway - job done.
The two teams of men were both easy to communicate with, and both made a good clean job of the damp proofing. The area concerned was left in good condition, and a guarantee given within a few days.
Be careful with a quote from this firm... we instructed three companies to quote for the same work. Kenwood quoted the job at over three times as much as the other companies. We gave Kenwood a chance (before they respond on here and discredit my review). We called them, explained the discrepancy and explained that we wanted the correct information and we wanted the work doing properly, so if they could talk us through the detail and why their experts understand this better than others then we were ready to listen. We were told we could either accept the quote or leave it, no clarification from an expert and they were not able to answer the specific questions we had from their report... hardly peace of mind for that much money. Perhaps I got the wrong person on the day - I can think of a lot of responses they may give - but just be aware and I think that sometimes a few quotes is a good starting point!
Do not use.....we were told we had rising damp within 10 minutes using a damp meter and no external inspection, at one point the surveyor diagnosed rising damp in an area from looking at exposed plaster that wasn't tidied up after a boiler installation. Completely incompetent surveyor at which I can not list everything. we then paid for an independent damp specialist who confirmed we do not have rising damp! I've reported them to the property care association.

We spoke to Kenwood on the phone to get a quote when we bought our first home and everyone we we spoke to was brilliant and professional, even helping give advice on helping us get the order of certain DIY aspects right for the work that needed to be completed by them. Scammers. Con men just trying to sell you damp course treatment. Salesman goes around with damp meter and determines we have rising damp within 2 minutes without looking at the property. Had to get a specialist in who confirmed it was a condensation issue. Avoid at all costs
Expensive, slapdash work, no communication between office and workforce and 'team' (only one of them actually did anything) turned up with too little material to cover the job. The walls are still damp and the person who came to check the work thought he could prove the walls were dry by not switching his damp meter on. My guarantee appears to be worthless and I complained, but Kenwood are far too big to care. I suggest you try a smaller firm with higher standards and a reputation to build.
Extremely poor, had to give one star to post this but otherwise I wouldn't have given any. I had a quote and was told the job would be 2 days, starting on a Friday, finishing Monday. Not great as it included the kitchen, but accepted anyway. In the week work due to start was delighted to be told it could start Thursday instead, so accepted. On Wednesday had a call to say I had to pay another chunk of money. Didn't get round to this that afternoon as I was clearing out rooms and Thursday morning had an aggressive phone call to say money not in their account, so duly paid. Thursday evening I went round and cleaned, vacuumed the dirt that they left; noticed that they had badly damaged some plaster on the other side of a wall where they had removed plaster. Friday evening vacuumed and swept outside (where they had mixed plaster, splattered liberally all over my patio) and found two socket covers in the flower bed ... other socket covers (all polished steel) were badly scratched as they didn't protect them. Damaged threshold strip on French doors; carpet was left unprotected and splattered with plaster. Job took total of 4 days and plasterer said that Kenwood should have known this by the style of property. I eventually asked them to vacuum their mess and got the response "but the cleaner is in the van". Told them it was not doing any good there, they had to bring it in. Told them to repair damaged plaster. When they finished, they had not removed blown plaster further up the wall from the existing damp; I found that another damaged socket could not accept a plug (next to where they removed plaster) and the french doors no longer closed. I have since had to jet wash patio to remove signs of their mess. I called Kenwood and they sent someone to have a look. He came 2 weeks ago and admitted that they had made mistakes (said this job would be used in their future training); that the blown plaster should also have been removed (which is what I was originally told when the guy came to quote) and he managed to force the French doors closed. However, it is now 2 weeks later and I have heard NOTHING from Kenwood. Called them this morning, they said they would get back to me. The French doors will not budge, the key even broke, but the doors still do not open. Called again to inform this. The guy who came to review the job is still out on site ... my patience is waning, I told them I would take to twitter to report this and that is my next stop. In short, do not use them, they don't care, they will trash your house and the whole point of using them is to eradicate damp and the signs of it. I have glaring signs of blown plaster and various damage to prove that they were here. I will post an update if I get a satisfactory response, but the signs don't look good.

If you want damp proof work undertaken late with damage to your property Kenwood is the company for you. If you want to be blackmailed into receiving the damp proof certificate then kenwood are for you. workmanship is poor, communication boarderline criminal. Steer clear of Kenwood damp proofing!
Post customer care is shocking. Spent over £9k and the job has been completed but we are have issues with the job Kenwood need to resolve. Now they have our money they are not returning calls to respond to the issues we are having.
Quoting process was quick, friendly and professional as was the process of booking in the work. Completed to a satisfactory finish and for a fair price. Not the most professional and slick contractors I've worked with on site before but only for little things, and it wouldn't completely put me off using them again.
I recently had a damp proof course done at my new house - I was very anxious about it as I'd never had any work done like this before. From start to finish I was blown away by the reassuring professionalism of the entire team at Kenwood - both in the office and on site. Troy and Jake who worked on site were extremely professional and their attention to detail was superb. Even though my house currently has bare floorboards and is in need of decoration, they swept up every night and left the entire place immaculate. The have done an amazing job and I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Kenwood to anyone else needing any such work done.

I cannot fault the service we received from Kenwood. From the initial phone calls to the surveyor coming out to assess the problem everything went smoothly and the company themselves were 100% professional and nothing was too much trouble. We've had a rising damp problem for several years now, and have had at least three builders in who have tried to fix the problem, but within a month the rising damp has gone. We, therefore, decided to go for a specialist damp proofing company and called several companies. Kenwood were by far and away the most accommodating and professional. On the day that their workmen came round to actually do the job, they were absolutely brilliant. We hardly knew they were there. They tidied up and took everything away (again previous builders have left the detritus for us to clean away); they did a first class re-plastering job, and completed the work on time. Most importantly there has been no recurrence of the rising damp since the work was done, so that alone speaks volumes about the quality of their service. I would highly recommend this company for anyone who has problems with rising damp.
Great organisation to deal with, product seemed to work within a day so very pleased so far. My only criticism is the wiring installation could be less bulky but a small price to pay if the condensation is cured and can always be retro fixed anyway.
Work was carried out to damp proof two walls which had rising damp. After cancelling on me for the first appointment they did the work on the second appointment however left with me not being able to close my bathroom door as the door frame had warped. After I told them about it they returned to fix it a week later. I left the new treatment to dry out for 5 weeks before painting the walls and the door. After two months the rising damp reappeared so called them to claim on the warranty. A person came over to inspect it and said yes it looks like the treatment wasn't 100% sealed and that is while the damp is still rising. He left to write the report. Next letter I got was from another person in the business to say that there wasn't a problem with the treatment I painted it too soon after the initial treatment. This was a clear lie as they did not even ask me when I painted it but only wanted to get out of doing the rework. MY ADVICE, AVIOD THIS COMPANY.
Absolutely terrible customer service. I have been waiting for a proposal for over 3 weeks and have had nothing through. Took time off work to meet the surveyor (who was over an hour late), spend nearly an hour talking to him about the issues. Was told by the office I'd get the report at the end of the week. That was over 2 weeks ago now (so 3 weeks since Kenwood visited) and still nothing through despite several chaser emails. I've had work done by them before and their plastering was slightly better than other damp services. I was keen to see what they would do on this property as I have found them knowledgable and competitive but I have had such a bad experience this time round.
