After receiving conflicting advice from several damp surveyors and experiencing poorly carried-out damp work in our Victorian North London Terrace, we found Adrian to be knowledgeable, professional, and clear in his recommendations. He took the time to review the previous reports and explained the best course of action in a way that was easy to understand. We decided to go ahead with the recommended work, and we’re very pleased with the results. Janko and Mitko worked hard throughout all three days, kept disruption to a minimum, and were careful to control dust as much as possible. The 10-year guarantee also gives us real peace of mind. Contacted London PDP to carry out an inspection at my tenanted property. The surveyor visited the property and advised that there was an active leak that needed to be resolved before it could be properly inspected for repair. I was subsequently advised by the tenants that the surveyor that attended the property was in their words "a troublemaker" and kept advising them that the property was in a shocking state and they had a really bad landlord who probably lived in a property which is “nice and dry" while leaving them living with damp. The statements were completely unwarranted and he even advised the tenants to complain to the council so that I would have to rehouse them nearby during remedial works. Fortunately I have a great relationship with my tenants who told me how unprofessional the surveyor was and asked me to find someone else to come round to carry out the works. When I called up to complain I was told by the surveyor that my tenants had completely made this up and I was threatened that if I post a review on Google that he would respond that I have left my tenants with damp for years and that I am a bad landlord (completely untrue). I was not even present when he visited and only came to know about the surveyors ridiculous statements when my tenants told me what he had said. They had absolutely no reason to make any of this up and I have attached screenshots from the tenants evidencing this. Completely shocking behaviour and the lack of apology when confronted was ridiculous.

We could not recommend Adrian enough. London PDP came to do some work on rising damp earlier in the year. The work was completed efficiently and we had a good experience. Adrian has since saved us a lot of time and money when we were told incorrect information from another builder about condensation issues. He went out of his way to help us and we were so appreciative to find an expert so patient and kind!

Adrian took the time to talk through my ongoing nightmare following a massive leak. Finally I felt like I had found someone who really did know everything about damp. I have spoken to many 'surveyor's' who don't know more than how to read a damp meter. He gave me sound advice for general damp issues, and wrote an email to my insurance company to help me start to unpick the giant mess following the failed drying post-leak. He did all of this just to be helpful, not because I was a paying client, I wasn't, just because I phoned and he could help. I am so hugely appreciative, and hope many more people find Adrian and can utilise his practical and extensive knowledge.

Having had Adrian solve our damp problem in the basement 6 years ago, I called him when a separate problem arose. It was very easy to arrange a visit, and he came on time - not always a given! It turned out not to be a damp-proofing issue that he deals with, but he stayed to look at the problem and give advice as to who best to contact, which was so helpful. Adrian did a full refurbishment of our flat, and installed a damp proofing course, after significant fire damage resulted in the flat being uninhabitable. Another company had provided a high quote with lots of unnecessary work bundled in, however Adrian was very honest about what actually needed doing, did his own survey and quoted only for what work was necessary and what’s more, his quote was very reasonable.

London PDP were recommended by our estate agent when the property we were buying needed a damp and timber report from a PCA contractor in order to satisfy our mortgage lender. It was extremely regrettable that the report they provided recommended a treatment which three other independent (but non-PCA) sources had categorically stated would not fix the problem in the long term and would in fact damage a house of this age (pre-1900). The evidence in the report was not incorrect but the leap made to recommend such remedies was really quite fanciful and counter to every other expert recommendation we’d received. They knew we'd be unable to get the mortgage without their report, and they took full advantage to try and profiteer. In the end, this was the start of a chain of events that derailed the whole purchase. To add insult to injury, we only received an invoice for this slap in the face almost a year after the fact. Given the strong reviews for London PDP, this was a monumental disappointment. I’m sorry to say that it felt extremely irresponsible and I would highly recommend others in our situation to look elsewhere - both for a survey and a different mortgage lender. After all, a large part of our problem was the lender, HSBC, who repeatedly refused to accept independent, but non-PCA, surveys. EDIT: Whilst I appreciate the response from the owner, it is not fair to say we have projected any disappointment from another source. The contractor proposed a treatment that had been carried out at the property multiple times in the past, with no effect. With the same evidence (and more), independent sources proposed alternative treatments and provided ample evidence that PDP's proposals would damage the property. We clearly informed London PDP at the outset that our lender required us to enact any recommendations made in the report we received. To say "it is the client's choice" to follow the recommendations belies the fact that they had us over a barrel and acted irresponsibly. Our own records show that no invoice was received until over 11 months after the survey. It was settled with 24 hours of first receipt.

I called Adrian after having a damp problem in storage space in my house. He gave me advice over the phone when he could have said I'll need a survey with a call out fee. He gave me honest advice saying any damp proof work won't really work (due to some structural challenges). I know some other companies would sell me the damp-proofing (and I would have been naive and just gone ahead with it). Responded very quickly and was honest and professional! Great company!!
Great service by Adrian. Was shown a very high quote for damp proofing from a better-known competitor and used London PDP for a second opinion. Adrian surveyed (with higher quality equipment) and explained that the majority of the works previously proposed would not be necessary. Really appreciated the honesty, he could have easily convinced me to carry out unneeded repairs and proofing. If only all providers were like this! Would recommend.

I rang Adrian as we had a basement leak followed a blocked sewage pipe. He very helpfully gave me some initial advise after i sent him some pictures of the affected area. Following an on site assessment Adrian was very candid in stating that the work that they could undertake would be very labour intensive and that the benefits that we would derive versus the cost would be questionable. This was incredibly refreshing in that he could easily have just suggested undertaking the costly works. In addition, he made some very useful suggestions on how we could still use the basement by looking at different storage solutions. Adrian not only provides high quality, specialist advice but also prioritises value for money for the customer.
Saw one of their workmen in Saunders Ness Road (Isle of Dogs) take a new roll of tape from the van, unwrap it and throw the plastic wrapping on the pavement. Nice... Response to owner's response: The van in question was parked on the opposite side of the road to the property you were working on. The plastic wrapping was left on the pavement next to the van (across the road from the property). I'm glad you understand how unacceptable it is to litter on the street. I have had recourse to PDP on two occasions. In one they undertook tanking work. Throughout the process, from diagnosis through to completion of the works they offered an exemplary service, not least in their efforts to limit the disruption that such a process necessarily entails. In the second, I needed advice on water leakage/accumulation in the basement of a property. PDP assessed the situation, and put to me various options to address the matter. The option suggested by PDP was one where no work would accrue to them. In effect, I received independent advice not tied to the subsequent purchase of a service or product from PDP. The process of briefing me and examining the options was, once again, exemplary.
Adrian and his team provide honest appraisals, put in hard work and create a minimum of fuss in what can be a stressful situation. They also won’t charge you for work which isn’t necessary - unlike some of their competitors. I truly cannot recommend highly enough.

From first contact to completion of works London PDP have been excellent. Adrian efficiently surveyed a property we were purchasing, identified areas that required treatment and provided a clear quote. The team that carried out the work were considerate, professional and efficient. In a household with two small children their approach was very much appreciated. The work took exactly the length of time we were told it would and the space was left spotless when they finished. Adrian also offered practical advice on other areas of the house I had concerns about. Hopefully we won’t need their services again on different areas of the house, but if we do we would not hesitate to request their services again.

I was told that some Damp Proof companies could find water in the Sahara Desert but that wasn't the case with Adrian from LPDP! We booked a survey with him and not only did he come round and diagnose that the problem wasn't damp. He then spent 50 minutes giving us general advice before telling us at the end it was free and he wasn't going to charge us for his time! Don't think i need to say anything else after that but we were really impressed with his professionalism and it is nice to know that there are good/honest people out there!
