Janet Middleton

Could not recommend David Wassell enough, we were purchasing our first home and David was always on hand to support us through the process and responded promptly in a friendly manner. David made our experience of buying a home so smooth, I would recommend him to anyone, thanks again David!

Could not recommend David Wassell anymore! 🙏🏻He is a top solicitor who has demonstrated nothing but excellence since the start of our house buying journey. 🏡 We now consider Dave a very good friend and are very grateful to him for all of his efforts. ♥️ He promised to get us in our new house early in the morning and of course, he delivered. 🔑 Our estate agents & mortgage brokers were even astounded how fast the whole process was from start to finish. ☺️ Thank you Dave!

Janet Middleton was a very good solicitor she helped me though out a difficult time from the staff answering my call to making sure I received the correct help. I highly recommend this firm and thank you all for everything Elizabeth bagnall

As a third party, a very poor experience and lack of communication for us, Estate agents and solicitors who have reported that they were unable to get replies by phone or email. This has caused a lot of unnecessary delays in my opinion.

Based on a third party experience i would recommend anyone looking for conveyancing to look elsewhere. We experienced numerous delays, lack of communication and transparency even to their own clients and were persistently chasing to be met with days or weeks of silence. There are much better solicitors available guys.

Review by Ian Lloyd James Middleton is an exceptional conveyancing solicitor — approachable, highly efficient, and genuinely trustworthy. He explains everything clearly, manages every stage with precision, and makes the entire process smooth and stress-free. I was recommended to him by a friend, and I’m very glad I took that advice. His professionalism and support throughout have been outstanding. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

Very poor experience with conveyancing, difficult to get hold of solicitor, recurrent sudden annual leave, always “chasing” without any progress being made. Had to push for work to be done every day. Shambles

David Wassell was an absolute pleasure to work with during the purchase of our home. He was professional, incredibly efficient, and always kept us informed throughout the process. His speed and attention to detail made everything so much smoother. Truly an amazing solicitor—highly recommended!

Have just used James as our conveyancing solicitor. At first I was a bit sceptical but as I have dealt with him he is very approachable and efficient at his work. I would always recommend using a local lawyer to handle your sales and purchase of property as you can easily follow the progress directly, not through emails and telephone conversations where so much gets lost or misunderstood. This leads to lengthy delays in the progress of completion and exchange. Thanks for all your help James much appreciated.

Matthew has been so good through the whole process, he’s such a lovely man and extremely helpful. He made our process super easy highly recommend. Thank you Matthew and team. kind regards Rada And Gurdeep

Amazing, thank you so much for your help after being badly let down elsewhere

Janet and Matthew really helped me when I needed some advice and were able to do so last minute. I recieved a very warm welcome from the other members of staff whilst waiting for my appointment. I would definitely recommend. There is a small car park at the rear of the property, and parking on the road outside if necessary.

Excellent service,nice people.

This is the best solicitor I’ve ever used , extremely knowledgeable and quick!! 100% use them.

I honestly can’t recommend James Middleton enough! He’s helped me with every sale and purchase I’ve made since early 2000’s and he’s super helpful, kind honest and trustworthy. I’ve found him to be professional, reliable and respectful. The support and advice he has provided over the years has been exceptional and there is nobody I’d trust more. Thank you James!

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to David for all your help & support with my conveyancing. You have been by far the best solicitors I've ever dealt with -extremely professional ,excellent communication, great advice ,friendly & above all human,

Can't private

David @ Middletons is highly recommended he was a joy to work with . Extremely professional and kept me informed throughout the process!

Fantastic solicitors. Professional and friendly. Just what I needed

I had engaged Janet Middleton to deal with my late mums Will, accounts and the sale of her home. All I have is praise for the whole team, they are extremely helpful, compassionate, caring and very professional. I would not hesitate in recommending this business to anyone who required the services offered. A complete, smooth and excellent experience from the very beginning to completion. Thank you all!

David has been solicitor for several years now we have always found him to be incredibly approachable professional and thorough. We have purchased three properties with David and each time His knowledge has made sure that the conveyancing has always kept our best interest at heart. We consider David to be a friend now, and cannot recommend him highly enough.

Nothing to much trouble for them

The simple way to get an honest review is ring around all the local estate agents and ask them not who they would recommend but who they would avoid like the plague. The legal fees here are extremely low compared to other conveying firms but you need to ask why that maybe.

Friendly and helpful

Slow, incompetent. Would NEVER use them!

Friendly service and very helpful advice

David Wassell is thoroughly professional and an outstanding choice for any conveyancing matter: he puts his clients at the heart of everything he does; he responds to emails promptly and in detail; he has a meticulous attention to detail to ensure that clients get the best possible service from him and crucially, he's reliable. With many solicitors it feels like they will take every opportunity they can to inflate their time ledgers and therefore their fees, but Mr Wassell is a honest, decent and conscientious individual who is only interested in putting his clients first. Recommended.

I’m not a believer in the spiritual world in anyway shape or form, but on a Saturday morning on Easter weekend I find myself googling clairvoyants in my area as I’m becoming more convinced I must’ve done something truly awful in a previous life to have deserved having to deal with a property sale involving James Middleton. 12 months after agreeing our sale, and having actually completed in November (somehow on the day he managed not to be the worst conveyancer involved, thanks largely to PPL) we still find ourselves having to chase him to release a bond that we put up to cover a potential shortfall in management fees on our development. Three emails from our solicitor with no response, which I’d be surprised about if we hadn’t seen it time and time again…. Our solicitor had to send the initial draft contract of sale multiple times because it “wasn’t received”, phone messages were left but never passed on, emails not received. I appreciate conveyancers have been incredibly busy over the last two years, but our and our vendors solicitors (except for on completion, on an issue out of their hands) managed the workloads just fine. Our purchase was only 3 doors up from our sale. Which, you can probably work out caused an incredible amount of friction when you have to account for snail pace conveyancing. Our conveyancer was ready to complete after 12 weeks, but 6 long frustrating months passed by before we moved. It’s a shame really because looking at the other reviews all of the other conveyancers in the same company seem to offer a much better service. On the off chance you’re reading this - READ YOUR EMAILS, PLEASE - I’D LIKE MY BOND MONEY BACK!

David Wassell from Janet Middleton Law was recommended by my estate agent as one of the best solicitors with the best turnaround without compromise of quality of service and professionalism. My expectations were high as I needed such a service due to regularly working abroad. After having dealt with David Wassell I can certainly say that I would highly recommend using them for property law. From start to finish I was dealt with in such a high manner of professionalism making the sale of my property quick and easy. I shall definitely be using them in the future.

Very happy with my service at Janet Middleton solicitors. David was a delight. Made it easy. No endless emails like some solicitors (I moved quite a few times I know) job done quickly and informative. Definitely would use this solicitors again.

I believe that having a good doctor, dentist and solicitor make for an easy life. My doctor and dentist have always been very good. Now I am happy to add a solicitor to the list. Warm and friendly from the outset with a genuine will to help. Matthew was very thorough, doing the best possible work for us. Having stayed past closing time for us there was not even a hint that he was rushing. Well worth the time and money, I will certainly recommend to others. I will go back in future for any legal matters. Highly recommended. Ramman

I had been recommended to contact David at Janet Middleton to aid in a flat purchase. He has been professional, diligent and helped/advised more than what was requested throughout the whole process. His fees were very competitive. I would have no doubt in recommending him to others. Thank you David

David Wassell represented us for our house move recently and was amazing. He was very thorough, helping us through some issues that came to light during the process. He was always available, responding quickly to emails and by phone when needed. We would recommend David to anyone.

David Wassell dealt with the sale of our house, he was responded quickly to all queries and the sale went through without a fault. Definitely use him again.

David Wassell dealt with our sale and purchase earlier this year and we cannot fault him. We had delays with agreeing exchange and completion dates but David's communication was exceptional throughout and it was clear that he was constantly chasing the other solicitors involved in the chain. He even offered to cancel some annual leave should our purchase completion have moved earlier. Thanks for all of your help, David.

Excellent experience during a difficult sale, keeping me informed all the way, I’m selling another rental and using them again.

Second to none in Telford area

I am currently trying to buy a property whose sellers are represented by James Middleton at this firm. The experience has been extremely frustrating and caused me enormous stress, and delay to my purchase. James repeatedly responded to my solicitor's enquiries on the property without making any effort at all, simply sending things he had already sent and refusing to do any further investigation or communication with the freehold company or seller as relevant. Multiple very serious enquiries (involving issues of title) were left for months without being addressed at all. On having my offer accepted, we agreed that we would work towards a five-week timetable for the sale. It has now been closer to five months, with one significant issue still outstanding which could have been addressed months ago if Mr Middleton had addressed it at that point (and it's unclear what he's doing even now). I now face increasing legal costs due to the delay and complication caused by Mr Middleton. Do not use at all costs.

I have purchased several houses over the years and this was far away the best experience I have ever had with an acting solicitor. David Wassell was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Professional, responsive and thorough but also a really personable guy who made the whole process easy and very enjoyable. Recommend 100%.

Good lawyer and reasonable costs

Brilliant firm of solicitors! Always kept me updated and got the completion done in a professional and timely manner. James Middleton was fantastic! Will 100% be using again and highly recommend.

Calls these guys a million times, no answer, seems like a small comapny with 1 employee working part time, STAY AWAY!!

Excellent service. Really impressed

Fast, efficient, friendly and realistic fees.

Fantastic...friendly and professional service.
