Square Face Carpentry

Fred re-did our kitchen and put in a stud wall for us. He was really helpful from the start, and came round to look at the space and talk through what we wanted, and made some helpful suggestions. He worked really quickly (and quietly!) and was just generally great to have working in the house! He made sure to keep us updated on what was going on and when and was always happy to talk us through anything or answer questions. The other tradesmen he arranged and brought in were also very good. Would really recommend Fred!

The work completed by Fred was great. Kitchen floor leveled and flooring laid along with skirting boards. He was tidy and considerate of our space whilst in our home too.

We had Fred at ours to remove and relay a floor, remove and fit skirting and supply two new doors. From the get go, Fred was brilliant, super professional, friendly and most importantly of all, great at what he does. Would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

Fred recently did some work for us. He is a wonderful carpenter who takes a lot of pride in his work. He is so accommodating and goes above and beyond to get the job done right. We are so happy with everything he has done. We highly recommend him.

Fred fitted 5 internal doors for us. We were very impressed with his professionalism, ability and the care with which he treated our home. He is a very personable guy. Thank you Fred.

First class carpentry. Fred fitted 10 Internal doors. Reliable, trustworthy and high quality. Great guy.

Brought Fred in to do a variety of jobs, despite the property being a 1920’s build with its challenges, he overcame them. Great guy, will absolutely recommend him and his workmanship. Will hire him again!

Excellent carpentry work carried out by Fred in our utility room and hallway, including a floor to ceiling cupboard, understairs cupboard plus numerous other carpentry jobs. He also renovated our parquet flooring which now looks beautiful. Looking forward to seeing Fred in the new year for our next project. Would highly recommend.

Needed some floorboards sorted out, did a great job. Professional and friendly. Organised and well priced. Would recommend!

I used square face carpentry to sort out uneven floor boards before new carpet was due to be laid. The job was completed promptly, to a high standard, and at a decent price.

Fred did an excellent job with our carpentry work! He fitted new skirting boards, installed architrave, and put in new doors on our landing, in two bedrooms, and the bathroom. His work is top-quality - everything fits perfectly and looks great. Fred was professional, punctual, and kept the work area clean. He communicated well throughout the project. Highly recommend for any carpentry needs!

Fred did a great job on our bespoke wardrobe doors. I’d recommend him to anyone.

Fred Came to see a project for understair storage. Was happy to quote and said it will be with me in a few days. However has ghosted me since. Have texted, whatsapp msgd and called numerous times but no answer. If you didn't want to do the job just say so.

I wanted to replace all 4 doors upstairs to oak from the existing ones, Fred was really quick to respond to the initial enquiry and to start the job. He was super tidy and considerate around the house, cleaned any mess and took away the old doors. Fred put a new sliding door on one of the rooms to save space which I’m delighted with. It took a bit of back and forth in discussing what was required and he had to come back to sort the gaps that showed after the initial installation, but once we agreed what was needed it looked fab. Fairly priced and good comms. Thanks Fred

Really pleased with the work completed and asked for further work to be carried out on a separate project. Thoroughly recommend

Fred built a new bannister and fixed some broken steps at my house. The quality of the work was excellent and he was very efficient to work with. Would definetly recommend Square Face Carpentry.

Fred fitted two pairs of alcove cupboard doors for us today. Fred arrived promptly and was both professional and friendly. He did a fantastic job and took the time to ensure everything was perfect before leaving (with the waste materials!) We are delighted with the results. We have a few more carpentry jobs that need to be done, so I look forward to booking Square Face Carpentry again.

Fred is an absolute knowledgeable professional, he showed up on time and provided a very reasonable quotation. Unfortunately i ended up giving the job to someone else due to availability and urgency from my end. However, I will definitely contact Fred for any jobs in the future. Thanks, Ahmed

I used Fred at 'Squate Face' for a number of carpentry tasks on a new project in Pontcanna, Cardiff. Flexible & proactive approach, trustworthy & a good price. Look forward to working with him again.

Fred came to fit two internal doors for me and did a great job. Very professional, did the job to a high standard but quickly too, would highly recommend. They look great! 👍

Very efficient service. Reasonable price. Recomended

Fred came to fix the rotting gallows bracket on our Edwardian terrace house. The bracket is decorative and as there is no replacement for such a thing, Fred made a replica. We are really impressed by Fred’s work, being unable to tell the original from the new. A true craftsman, we highly recommend his work.

Fred’s work is of a professionally high standard. He understands our needs and has done a great job. Highly recommended!

Interior door made and fitted to match original period doors. Quality work and great value. We will certainly be asking Fred to complete more projects for us. Highly recommended.

Fred fitted an external garage door for us with a lock to make the garage secure. He even fitted it on Bank holiday Monday and it was a perfect service. Would highly recommend him to anyone.

We asked Fred to trim down 3 solid oak offcuts that we had from our kitchen counter and turn them into a coffee table and 2 end tables. He did a beautiful job, and the tables look wonderful. Fred arrived on time for both the quote and the job, and he left absolutely no mess, even when hanging a new door for us upstairs over carpet. He had great attention to detail and spent a long time making sure he got it right for us. We love our tables, and we’ve also got a few other carpentry jobs around the house that we will definitely be looking to hire Fred for! Thanks so much.

Fred provided a great service and we are very happy with the high quality of his work. He is diligent and has an eye for detail. Highly recommended.

We had our rear garden fencing done from the aftermath of Storm Eunice! The price for the service was great for its quality of work. Fred was punctual, friendly and hard working. He removed the entire garden wall, relaid the ground level and set up the fencing - a really well done job and done in a day! Tidily done and cleared up well after too. Would highly recommend him to anyone. Already passed on his details to others! Thanks Fred, will definitely use your services again!

Fred Harvey-Love did an excellent job laying 2 wooden floors. He provided a competitive quote and turned up on the agreed date (no faffing or delay). He was punctual each day, was courteous and professional at all times, and cleaned up all waste materials when finished. He worked solidly doing full days with few breaks The floors looked great when finished, and my wife and I were very pleased at the standard and quality of work. We would have no hesitation in hiring him again and recommend him unreservedly.
