After dealing with countless companies over the past 25 years, both big and small, Acorn genuinely stood out from the crowd. No pushy sales, I took several trips to the showroom before choosing what suited my needs and security requirements. From start to finish, the whole process was smooth, professional, and efficient. Even better, the installation was completed several weeks earlier than originally quoted. The quality of workmanship was outstanding. The fitters were highly skilled, knowledgeable, and took real pride in their work. After completing the job, they even fixed my porch door something no other company had managed to do in 15 years! Acorn has that rare combination of relaxed professionalism, ethics craftsmanship and genuine customer care, that is impossible to find these days. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

This has been the second time I have used Acorn windows and both times (at least 10 years apart) the service I've received has be excellent. We had two large bays, 4 smaller window and a front door fitted. The quality of the products are of a high standard. The two installers (Owen and Darren) were both friendly, helpful and obviously very experienced. They went above and beyond. They even spotted a problem with some of our guttering which we didn't know about. They advised and helped us fix it. Which was a great help. I would highly recommend Acorn windows. All communication has been spot on. Particularly with Garry who has an excellent customer service skills and a wicked sense of humour. Personally I wouldn't use any other company.

Changed the front door from an old, warped plastic to a solid composit. Very satisfied with the result, the installing engineer did a superb job. The guys at the head office were wonderfully helpful and professional too. The door itself is stunning, glass, colour, and all, for a competitive price. Highly recommended!

What a first class job all the guys from Acorn windows have done on replacing all of our windows and doors. With a special mention for Tommo and Adam who upgraded our conservatory with a new tiled roof, windows and doors. Acorn have done an exceptional job replacing the all of the soffits and fascias to our property, along with the jewel in the crown, our newly rendered and boarded front elevation (see photo). Throughout the whole project, James, Mick 1, Mick 2 and the team have been nothing short of exceptional with the quality of work and level of customer care. I've used Acorn for over 20 years now and wouldn't dream of going anywhere else for our windows, doors, and building work.

Just had our old kitchen window replaced with a new one from Acorn Windows. Not s straight replacement as we wanted a slightly larger window which involved the removal of one course of bricks. But as usual no job is beyond the capabilities of Acorn Windows and we are delighted with the result. The fitters arrived within their allocated time and were both pleasant and courteous. They worked tirelessly to complete the job which included replacing a double glazed unit in our conservatory. The product is excellent quality and the work was completed to a high standard. We have used Acorn to replace all our doors and windows. The quality of the work was excellent, the fitters and all staff involved in the work were very professional. Recently we suffered a spontaneous breakage in our patio window and after discussions with James and his the staff, the window was replaced. We would certainly recommend Acorn for all windows and doors replacements.

We had all our windows and doors replaced by Acorn several years ago which we have been more than happy with. We have just had an issue with one of the doors which was not locking correctly, I contacted Acorn thinking that they wouldn't take any interest after all these years. After speaking to them they sent a fitter to correct the fault, they could not have been more helpful ! Thats what you call service ,Thank you .

Avoid – Disorganised, Unsafe, and Poorly Fitted Products This company has been nothing short of a nightmare from start to finish. Appointments are frequently cancelled or delayed at the last minute, with little to no regard for our time or schedule. The quality of work has been appalling. We had both a window and door fitted—neither to a satisfactory standard. The door, fitted just six months ago, already doesn’t fit properly and poses a serious issue. When raised, the response and aftercare have been disorganised and unreliable. Even more concerning: fitters left razor blades and sharp tools behind, something we only discovered by chance. If you have children, I strongly urge you to triple-check the area after any visit. This company appears to hire anyone, regardless of experience or professionalism. There are far more modern, reliable, and safety-conscious alternatives out there—avoid this one at all costs.

From the initial contact with Acorn, to quote, fitting and after sales service, a great experience and would highly recommend hence the rating given.

We have had all new windows, front door and french windows from Acorn and we couldn’t be happier. From our first meeting with James when he came to look at the job to when the fitters came who were very polite and tidy we were very impressed. They kept us up to date with the process and found their customer service great with all aftercare.

We had a deeply disappointing experience with Acorn Windows, largely due to the substandard work of two unprofessional window fitters they employed. Honestly, some parts of the installation look like a 3-year-old could have done better. I’ll provide a detailed review below, but the photos I’ve taken speak volumes. I’d strongly advise you to review these before considering Acorn for your home. Background In February 2024, we had Acorn install six large windows and a bay window. Their mid-range quote, coupled with a friend's past recommendation and the promise of quality from the owner, convinced us to proceed. The owners letter assured us that if mistakes occurred, they would fix them promptly and to the highest standard. This gave us confidence, as we were spending a significant amount of money. The work was estimated to take 2.5 days, which seemed ambitious given the scope. Unfortunately, this timeline was the least of our concerns. Day 1: Supply Issues and Early Red Flags The fitters arrived but immediately complained about missing supplies from the storesman, including internal window boards and handles. When they returned with the boards, they installed the wrong size, disregarding the insulated boards we had discussed with the surveyor. Later, they informed me that lintels were needed—contradicting the surveyor’s assessment—but said they’d work around it. Day 2: The Real Issues Begin By the end of the second day, I inspected the work and was shocked: Window boards were poorly cut, not flush, leaving gaps filled with sealant that was dripping onto my carpets. Overhangs on boards were massively uneven and unsightly. Sealant was sloppily applied and not smoothed— literally straight out the tube and left. The bay window boards were appalling, as photos will show. Several windows had scratched beading and even damaged glass. They also installed the wrong handles. I contacted the office immediately. They agreed to send a manager the next day to inspect the issues. Manager's Visit: Dismissive and Abrupt The manager’s attitude was initially dismissive, sneering at me, suggesting I was overreacting since the job wasn’t finished. However, upon closer inspection, he conceded that the work was indeed poor—particularly the uneven window boards, sealant, and bay window installation. Subsequent Visits: Mixed Results A few days later, the same fitters returned to "fix" the issues but left more problems behind: The bay window boards remained poorly installed. The brickwork was mismatched (smooth bricks on rough surfaces and vice versa). External sealant was an eyesore. They also scratched a radiator, ripped a bedsheets and left screws all over my driveway. - Again a further phonecall to the Office and I advised I didn't not want the original fitters to visit again. Finally, Acorn sent different fitters who were excellent and resolved many of the problems. Acorn also agreed for them to fit more expensive window boards at no extra charge which looks great. Had these professionals handled the job from the beginning, I expect that my experience would have been entirely different. Ongoing Concerns and Final Thoughts While most visible faults were corrected, the experience left me with lingering doubts. Recently, I discovered a loose trim, behind this I have found that there is no foam or filler behind it—just a hole to the outside, causing a cold draft in my living room. This discovery confirmed my suspicion that the windows were not fitted properly, despite assurances from the manager. Acorn’s failure to meet basic standards, coupled with their dismissive attitude initially and lack of accountability or apology, has been infuriating. Although they fixed what they could within reason (they refused to replace some window boards or some external sealant), I am now left to deal with further snagging issues at my own expense. Buyer beware. It might just be our bad luck with this company but as I'm sure you can appreciate, I wouldn't want anyone else to experience this treatment.

I have used this company now for nearly ten years. Whilst we have had very few issues since installation of windows, doors and conservatory , if ever I do have a problem they are on the case immediately. This company have the best after sales service we have ever experienced. I would never hesitate to recommend them to friends.

This is the 3rd time we have used Acorn Windows over the last couple of years to develop one of the smaller bedrooms in our house by knocking through into the airing cupboard (Windows & Garage conversion the previous 2 times). Great service and quick turnaround time to complete the job for us. The job required 3 kinds of trade (joiner, plumber, plasterer), all of whom were very friendly and took great care with the work. Thanks again for the great work. Very pleased and should we need anything else doing in the future, you'll be first on our list to call.

I have recently had my house fitted with new windows from Acorn, including bi-fold doors and encapsulated glass. The end product is great and the fitters were fantastic. I would love to give a better review, however the customer service from Acorn was terrible. The job was supposed to be completed in December and has only just been finished in March. I was told that the fitters would start upstairs so cleared every room. When the fitters arrived they started downstairs. I was then asked to pay for scaffolding that wasn't required. When the fitters started, after one day I was told there had been a mistake and the windows would not be ready for a few months.In that same phone call I was asked to pay for the windows, which I refused to do until the windows had all been fitted. I finally had the windows fitted over Christmas. After the fitters had left I noticed lots of dents and marks on the new windows. I had to organise for these to be looked at and cleaned up. When the man came to do this he said he had only been told bout three dents when there were 10 plus. He did a great job sorting them, but it was another hassle and left for me to deal with. I then waited over 11 weeks to have the encapsulated glass fitted, even though I was told 6-8 weeks. I was given a date for the glass to be fitted and when I phoned the day before to find out a time, I was told they weren't coming any more and it would be another few weeks. I think I would have just been sitting waiting if I hadn't phoned to check. No real apologies or anything from Acorn. Sadly I couldn't recommend, even though I have used the company before.

This review is for Acorn Windows Nottingham, located in Wollaton. Had a patio door installed at a reasonable price, the guys did a good job with insulation but after they left noticed the door heavily scratched on the inside pane of glass, needed a replacement, not a good start. Replace in 2 weeks, glass was fine but the installer scratched the guide rails when fitting, should really be a two man job, again disappointing. Ordered a glass canopy at the same time, delayed by 5 months. Insulation was ok, but after a downpour the was a severe leak down one side. Had 3 further visit to fix, usually just added more sealant, didn't work, still leaks today. The glass installed was pilkington self cleaning, after 1 year they are filthy, rang up to ask why and staff were rude and told me to ask pilkington or just clean it. When the installers told me not to clean it, clueless. In the end very dissatisfied and disappointed with the quality of product and service, would I recommend, no.

Was recommended to Acorn Windows by the chap we use to replace blown double-glazed panes. Acorn came back with the best of 3 quotes to replace 4 windows and we are very happy with the outcome. Fitters were incredibly punctual, polite and tidy. Very happy to recommend.

I have recently had Acorn windows replace a glass conservatory. The whole experience has been fantastic from start to finish. James had some great ideas and the quote was prompt and competitive. The fitters turned up on time, were very polite and left every very tidy at the end of each day. I couldn’t be happier with the end result, it has completely transformed the space! Made an appointment for price for 3 doors at home address , salesman never turned up when called to see where they was and still coming he was still sat in office it sounded like he had forgot if this is how they run a business I don’t want them fitting products on my property also was looking at future things at home to be done in very near future also . We had our drafty conservatory converted by Acorn in to a wonderfully cosy sunny room with bi-folds opening in to the garden. They were absolutely excellent and it looks great. The work was complete just in time for Christmas 2023.

I’ve just had a replacement conservatory supplied and installed by Acorn, I can’t recommend them highly enough, from my initial enquiry with James then Mick, both listened to our requirements and offered great ideas and solutions to us, we then had the pleasure of Tony and Andy who did the initial alterations groundwork and the building element of the project, I can’t fault anything they’ve done, we have since had “Thomo” and Adam to install the replacement conservatory itself, these guys are first class at what they do, all the guys who have been on site have worked to a really high standard and are respectful to our property and my family, you can tell these guys enjoy their work and take a great deal of pride in what they do and who they work for. Just had a conservatory installed in my bungalow after having four windows and a door fitted the previous year from Acorn Windows, they are a dream to deal with very efficient and professional, the quality of the product coupled with the skill of the fitters makes for a fantastic end result, James the MD did the quote and though they did a couple of extras which were not on the quote the price given was what they charged, Mick who does the measurements and goes through how the end product will look is at the top of his game, everything fitted perfectly and was exactly as described, the bricklayers were superb and Steve (Tomo) the fitter and his workmate Adam worked like Trojans in foul weather to deliver a superb conservatory. If you are thinking of having a conservatory this company is well worth employing.

Acorn windows have installed quality windows and a door and were extremely quick to sort out an issue we had with one window. They were very efficient with our request for various options before we made a decision. Their commitment to customer service is extraordinary and exemplary. We will be needing more windows and doors and without doubt we will be using Acorn again.

We had our windows fitted in 2016 but two of them have recently developed problems with the handles. I contacted Acorn Windows and they were brilliant - they responded in minutes, they booked in a service engineer to come and sort them out (under the guarantee) and today, they turned up as promised and fixed them. They were fantastic when they fitted the windows and their willingness to sort out any problems (even 7 years on!) is testament to what a great company they are. It’s so refreshing these days to find a company that actually lives up to its promises and the guarantees it offers. Thank you.

Acorn Windows Nottingham has made a superb job of our Orangery. From planning, building, fitting of the lantern roof, windows and bifold doors, all the work has been done to a very superb standard. Finishing the exterior with render blends the new extension perfectly with our period property. Couldn't be more pleased. We have since asked Acorn to replace our old porch door and fit a new front door and side window for another family member. Would highly recommend.

After having our new bespoke door booked in since the middle of October, and paying a deposit, we had the installation cancelled twice, just the afternoon before it was due to take place at 8.30am the next morning. Being a several times returning satisfied customer, we have now cancelled our order due to their unwillingness to offer any discount or compensation for the inconvenience this has caused us. Originally they even told us that we were still obliged to pay for the door, due to it being made to measure, but after involving the Managing Director, he 'decided' they'd use it in their showroom, sooner than offer a reduction! All in all, 6 months wait and still NO DOOR! Very disappointed that Acorn are no longer the customer satisfaction orientated business they were … :(

Booked a appointment for Acorn to replace and fit two blown double glazed units. Acorn got back with quote and fitting day the following week. The day before fitting I recieved a text from Acorn saying they are now unable to undertake the work and ank you for your interest in thier company. I was taken back at the latter and former. What about an interest in customer service and communication Acorn!!. I recieved no feedback as to why they are now no longer to do the job or apology. An apology at least would have been the decent and orderly thing to do. I recieved no feedback what so ever. Very disappointed.

We needed to replace our front door during the lockdown period and after making several enquiries Acorn Windows stood out as being head and shoulders above other companies. They were super friendly, accommodating and able to react quickly to our needs. When their fitters turned up, (on time) it was clear they had taken all the precautionary measures to operate during the pandemic. The door was fitted without any issues and no mess was left. We chose Acorn to replace our 1.4m sq uPVC porch in July 2020. This is composed of 7 varying sized glazed uPVC frames and 2 composite doors. No roof work required. 2 steps needed rebuilding and retiling along with the floor. We had to supply floor tiles. Unfortunately the experience was very poor from the outset. It was months of delays, mistakes and very poor communication from start to finish. Even allowing for the pandemic the experience was bad. We saw full extensions and garage conversions completed around us in less time than it took to get our porch finished. An initial start date was cancelled then our August fit was cancelled on the morning of the fit due to a damaged door. Further cancellation ensued due to lack of fitters. September subcontractor fitters arrived but because they were not properly informed that they needed to rebuild 2 steps didn’t have the equipment to start. Unfortunately the new steps were not built wide enough and the levelling out of floor next to steps was poorly executed - this does not become fully apparent until tiled. We were told the glass frames along the side of the porch had to be installed with beading to the exterior instead of a more secure internal fit but after doing this the fitters then told us they could have been installed the correct way after all. The 2nd day of installation fitters dismantle the old porch then discover one of the new frames is incorrect so will need reordering. In demonstrating this problem they break another good frame. They partially reinstate the old porch, board up rest and leave saying someone from Acorn will contact us. But they don’t. Again we have to chase Acorn to find out what is happening. We ask to be kept informed but end up having to repeatedly call the business. Mid September - installers turn up and install remaining frames and door however the door they fit is again damaged. They leave the porch unfinished with no trims. Eventually a builder turns up to widen the doorsteps.  Some trims are still missing and others only half silicone sealed. At this point we decided to finish silicone sealing ourselves. Again no communication from Acorn. We had to chase up to find out when we could expect a tiler to finish floor and the replacement door part would be fixed.  Acorn was apparently unaware of tiler requirements. Meanwhile following rainfall the porch is found to leak at the corner. Tiler turns up but informs us he will not be able to do the tiling for another 2 weeks. He returns to do the job but the jointing of the step tile trims are poor and the unevenness of floor to the side of steps becomes apparent. Fitter returned some weeks later to finish fitting trims but with incorrect replacement for the damaged door.  He reorders then leaves trim behind. Promises to return with another replacement molding and also silicone around the base of the porch to stop leak. After 3 weeks and no contact from acorn we fit the coupler trim and repaired the hole left in the wall where they removed original steps. Month later Acorn returned to sort out the damaged door but leave not sealing around the porch base. They return but the seal fails to stop water ingress. On a third attempt Acorn end up taking off the trim and pumping the gaps full of sealant. By mid December we were still chasing a missing rain deflector cap. Acorn charged a premium fee for this porch replacement.  Our recommendation is to avoid this business.

Excellent service throughout including installation and a great product. I have just had a new composite door fitted from Acorn and I cannot speak highly of them. James was very professional leaving me and my wife with advice and a brochure to consider and choose the design. We ordered the new door with side panels and the glass to match the rest of the house. Acorn keep in contact to advise when the door was in stock and booked an installation date. On the day as promised the installation went ahead and was very thorough - all cleaned after and excellent experience.

Had new windows fitted throughout this week,Dave and Andy the fitters were excellent tidy polite and nothing was to much trouble. Acorn give you a price and that’s it don’t be put off that they don’t call you to see if you want the job done they leave it entirely up to you to call them so no pressure at all off the team and no hard sell. Went with them due to recommendations from people whom we know had used them in the past ,and so glad we did. Would recommend to anyone,you won’t be disappointed.,Well done Acorn.

I was worried choosing a firm to do my Windows . Because it's a lot of money to spend. But Acorn Windows did everything they could to reassure me, and the price was very good. Staff excellent. Thank you I love my Windows and door .

Phoned for a quote for roofline work. Representative turned up two hours late. Didn’t seem all that interested. Promised a quote the next day but it didn’t materialise. The quote was finally received after 7 days. I got back to the company to accept the quote and asked for the original rep to ring to organise a date. I’ve heard nothing since after three months. Very poor customer focus. Disappointing to say the least. Avoid.

I had windows and doors fitted. Great service. Good quality. Would definitely recommend Acorn Windows. They come with a guarantee which Acorn uphold. I had a seal go on a window around 5 years after it was fitted. They contacted me back straight away and arranged to replace the unit, within a week, with no hassle. So if in the unlikely event something goes wrong, they sort it out with no hassle.

Hi James et al I would like to add my thanks again, some 10 years plus after installations. First was our soffits and fascias, followed by all windows. The work undertaken was exceptional and led to our 70 cubic metre conservatory, to replace our old “lean to” as I used to call it. As you know, over the years there have been the odd niggle (water in the underground electric run in the conservatory - a mistake made at build time), and yet again, NOTHING was too much trouble for Acorn Windows Ltd - you seem to own the problem and eradicate very quickly, no mess, no interruption and at a time and date that suited us, always. Lately, 2 bathroom windows (first installed 2005 in bathrooms), because of where they were situated, had “blown”. In comes Terry, no prior measurements as you still hold all details on file, replaces within 20 mins, and then re-hangs the front door on his way out!
