Field & Field have just done a fantastic job building our garden room. They quoted reasonably and when we added new bits, they kept us in the loop regarding costs. They did a brilliant build, and were happy to discuss anything we needed to, as well as making suggestions on things we needed help deciding on. This is the second project we've used them for and we'd happily use them again. We are so happy with the outcome. Thank you Field & Field!
Field and field were excellent. My husband and I are doing a self build extension and we needed some professional advice and help with our concreting. Barry was fantastic giving great advice that went above and beyond the concrete. Jordan from his team did a top notch job helping my husband with the concrete slab. We will definitely be using field and field again for any future work.
Field and Field were superb throughout our project- they have done an excellent garage conversion for us, splitting the garage into 2 rooms. They expertly managed the project throughout, being very self sufficient, meaning for such a big project, we never experienced any disruption. Any questions or opinion they asked they always offered up expert advice or direction, which was very welcome. Everything has been finished to a very high standard, and they were incredibly professional. Would highly recommend, and if any further building works come up, we will very happily use again.
They did an excellent job of knocking down a non-structural wall, the work was done quickly and efficiently and they left things really neat and tidy. Managed to finish the work ahead of schedule. Communication excellent throughout and did exactly what I wanted. Overall very pleased with the work done, would definately recommend.
I cannot recommend Field and Field highly enough. From the quote to the final handover, their professionalism, craftsmanship, and attention to detail were outstanding. This isn’t the first project Barry and his team have completed for us and frankly if they couldn’t have done it we wouldn’t have had it done. How much do I trust them? - we gave Barry a key and went on holiday whilst the work was being done. Such a pleasure to come home to a finished project and a spotless house. Every step of the project was clearly explained, with regular video updates that kept us fully informed. The finish is immaculate - from the structural work to the smallest design touches, everything was completed to the highest standard. During the planning we went through a couple of iterations to get the price and the design right. They listened carefully to our ideas, offered expert advice, and went above and beyond to ensure we were happy with the results. Building work unavoidably involves disruption and dust - as an example of the level of service our carpets were wet cleaned even though they knew we are intending to replace them in the new year- Outstanding!. The pricing was transparent and fair, with no hidden surprises. For the level of service and quality provided, it was excellent value for money. The transformation has exceeded our expectations. Friends and family have been amazed at the results and we feel genuinely proud of the space we’ve created together. If you’re looking for a building company that combines skill, integrity, and a genuine passion for their work, Field and Field is the one to choose.
This was our first big house project so we were a little bit nervous when starting a large extension as you hear of some terror stories, but I can't recommend Field & Field enough. From start to finish, the standard of work has been brilliant. Communication from the very first visit until completion was superb, we knew what was happening on a daily and weekly basis which is what you need when juggling a build and a young family. Barry also added guidance along the way for small tweaks and areas that would make a difference which has taken the finished result up a level. Honestly couldn't fault them.

It would be easy to say how great Field & Field were and how pleased we are with the end result, but that wouldn’t do them justice. Field and Field were brilliant from start to finish. Barry and his team ‘lived’ with us for nearly a year as they built our large extension. Working with limited space for spoil, material storage and deliveries, everything was highly organised for a smooth running and tidy site. Barry’s team were punctual, polite and friendly and were always on site when they said they would be. They took great pride in their work, which they produced to a high standard. We appreciated the discussions to check everything was as we were expecting. We loved the end of day video summary of the work accomplished that day. The project did have its moments, but because of the relationship built between us these problems were quickly resolved to everyone’s satisfaction. Barry’s input to the design was also very helpful and improved certain aspects of the build. Any changes to the budget were always discussed before any work was started, so the build was completed on budget with no surprises. We are extremely happy with Field & Field and have no hesitation recommending them.
The whole team were so professional throughout. All the work has been to a very high standard. Barry had suggestions and solutions to both improve the project and to fit in with changes we asked for mid project! Very accommodation, friendly and hardworking. Everything completed on time and great communication throughout. Daily updates when we were at work showing progress for the day.
I cannot recommend Field and Field enough. Across a complicated and dynamic building project which changed in scale dramatically, the Field and Field's service remained first-class on all fronts. Barry, in particular, has been a constant source of pragmatic and positive counsel throughout the process. Despite a relentless list of problems early on with dynamic changes to the scope of the project, he was always able to offer practicable solutions and communicate his ideas clearly in laymen's terms without appearing patronising . He also provided sound advice during the planning permission process, helping to keep exceptions grounded. In the context of a highly stressful period as the plan changed, Barry's professionalism and expertise provided the necessary reassurance to keep up momentum! Field and Field provided daily update videos with a detailed description of all progress on site. Given this communication method reassured us of the speed and dynamism of delivery, they started to become one of the highlights of our day! We are now well into the construction phase of the project and the results so far have been first class. Every 'department' within the Field and Field team have worked tirelessly to meet our sporting deadlines, without compromising on quality. I AM HAPPY TO RECOMMEND FIELD AND FIELD WITHOUT RESERVATION. We had an excellent experience with F&F from start to finish. The guys were always friendly, communicative and helpful and we found their staged invoicing really helpful. The team were always helpful and gave us great advice, making practical changes without complaint through the process. Highly recommended, a fantastic team!
As Field & Field were recommended to me (by several locals) I now can in turn can recommend them, without hesitation. They have built a beautiful kitchen extension and shower room. I was a little nervous starting out on this project, but the project has been well coordinated by them from the start– the work has progressed well and the various trade professionals well-coordinated. I’m really pleased with the standard and the high level of expertise, precision and professionalism by everyone in the team. Barry’s team are close-knit, hardworking and cheerful – they just wanted to do a good job for me and have a happy customer. They have been approachable, respectful and take time to explain. They’ve created little bespoke flourishes and any areas of complexity (as found on all building sites) have been solved quickly and without drama. They were very punctual each day and worked quickly and took pride in tidying up! Lisa in the office was always responsive, on-hand to signpost, and facilitate communication within the team. The good communication set up from the start by Field & Field, such as the WhatsApp group, to the ‘end of day’ video feedback was really welcome and enjoyable too. I’m so pleased with the team and the work that they have completed that I’ve requested they come back undertake another project.

Third time using Field and Field and we couldn’t fault them! This time was reconfiguring the annex of our house, removing walls, upgrading electrics, installation of sliding doors, all carpentry, plastering etc. I couldn’t believe how quickly they turned this project around. A great team! Now thinking what else we could get them to do……a roof conversion perhaps! 😃

We used Field & Field to install our new kitchen, which involved knocking down walls, inserting lintels, adding windows and building all aspects of the kitchen. We only have good things to say. The quoting process was quick, the price was fair for the work done, and all those who worked on the project were very professional, respectful and communicative throughout. They always turned up when they said they would (important as we were not living in the property at the time of the work), and they were always very responsive and helpful with our queries. Barry is incredibly knowledgeable of his trade as well as an excellent project manager, and has been a delight to deal with. And not to mention that the finished kitchen is fantastic. We would not hesitate to recommend his team to anybody looking for reliable and quality building work.

Field and Field came to quote, when they said they would. They gave the best detailed quote we got. They stuck to the quote and the only additional costs were those we added and were always at a reasonable cost agreed in advance. They also advised on a couple of bits that saved money. All of the guys they used were sound tradesman. They were all polite and hard workers - no half days with this team, even some quite late evenings as well! Barry and Nick were great to work with and when there were tweaks or minor problems, there was no debate and it got sorted straight away at no extra cost. Completely recommend them.
We had a great experience with Field & Field and would definitely recommend them. We wanted a two storey extension to give us a bigger kitchen and more space upstairs along with re-configuring all the other rooms upstairs to give us more bathrooms. Barry, Nick and the team worked tirelessly to get our project finished in super fast time. Barry always had great suggestions - which were always right! We were very pleased with the standard of the work and the whole team always went the extra mile. After the build was finished we had a small problem with one of the showers losing a bit of pressure - Nick and Lee came round as soon as we called and were able to resolve the issue very quickly. This is the second time we have used field and field for an extension. We had no doubt that they would do as fantastic a job this time even with the complex foundations that were required. Barry suggested a number of alternatives to our design that were excellent. Barry and Nick have a great team working with them. All very hardworking and trustworthy.
Barry and his team take great pride in the work they do, which is evident in the end result. The speed at which they work is very impressive, while maintaining a very high quality of workmanship. Barry gave guidance and advice during the build which helped greatly in making decisions during the process to achieve the result I was after. For this build, there were no drawings, the brief given was one picture from Pinterest. I am so pleased with the results and grateful to have had very skilled workmen on the job. Thank you!
All the work that Barry and his team carried out was to a very high standard and two years on it still looks great. We were amazed at how quickly and efficiently the build came together, and the speed of completion was something we were not expecting but were very happy about. Every one of his team was friendly, considerate and polite, and we felt they really understood us and how we were going to manage living in the house while the work was being carried out. The communication throughout the project was excellent and we felt as though we were always kept up to speed with everything. We have already recommended Field & Field to friends and will continue to do so.
Field and Field undertook alterations to our kitchen after which we decided to employ them to build a step to the front of our house. The new step has been completed to a very poor standard and the end result and making good is in our opinion an eyesore. This work will now have to be cleared and undertaken by another contractor. Very disappointing that despite promises to come and view in order to rectify, months later there has been no contact. In response to Field & Field Reply: All Invoices received from this Company have been paid in full, promptly and without question. To imply otherwise is a lie. A full kitchen renovation was not completed by them, it was purely structural alterations, electrical and plastering work with which we were satisfied. The step was discussed with Field & Field and was always to be completed with bricks to match the house which we were supplying, as per the quote. To suggest that I helped in building the step by passing bricks one by one is absurd. Why would we want a step made from a brick which would not match the house? It is general practice to lay engineering bricks below ground level to help avoid damp problems. This was not carried out. We sent two emails and had one telephone conversation regarding this work, but Field & Field have not bothered to come and view relying on a report from the bricklayer that it had been carried out to a high standard despite the fact that the step was not constructed in accordance with the quotation and making good of the paved area is ridiculous inasmuch that odd pavers have been used which do not in any way match the drive, and the finished levels are poor. It is also interesting to note that Field & Field have never apologised or made any reference, despite having been advised, that the workmen when packing up at the end of the day switched off the power to our freezer in the garage resulting in the contents being ruined as it was not discovered for a week. It is upsetting that Field & Field have been economic with the truth in their response in order to justify their poor approach to this matter.
Barry, Nick and the rest of the excellent and friendly team carried out a garage demolition and large extension for us early 2021. We were amazed that despite lockdown restrictions during Covid and general supply issues in the building industry, Field & Field managed to keep on going and we had no significant hold up at any point. They provided great advice at the point of quotation, provided a detailed itemised quote which they honoured at the final invoice and worked incredibly hard. The project was carried out in less than 3 months to a very high standard and we are delighted.
Thanks to the Field & Field team for being incredibly patient with me during what has been a very challenging build. Everything they have done has been done to an extremely high standard. This is the second time we have used Field and Field in the last 4 years and again they did not disappoint! Barry and his team worked with us and their structural engineer to produce a scope for our techincally difficult project and the end product is stunning. The atention to detail and final finish is exceptional. They stuck to the dates they originally advised, worked quickly, always cleaned up after themselves and were always very curtious. I would highly reccomend them for any type of project.

Rear Single Storey Extension Barry, Nick and the team have been superb, work on a rear extension was completed in just six weeks. The quality of workmanship has been of the highest quality, extremely satisfied and pleased with the speed and final outcome of the project. Would definitely recommend them for any building work you require.

We brought Barry and the team in to build a garden room/office when my husband and I needed a new place to work. The process was very quick and the space was built around our needs. The finished product we have ended up with is much better than the prefabricated builds we were looking at. Its now winter and takes very little energy to heat it. We’re really pleased we got Field and Field to build this and would thoroughly recommend them.
