SOL POWER RE LTD is described by customers as a friendly local firm, with Alan and Ben named repeatedly for solar, battery and EV charger work. Several reviewers say the team gave clear, honest advice and realistic expectations, and that the work was done tidily and to a high standard. A few mention continued support after installation, including export applications and choosing a tariff, and one says the system has worked as promised. One reviewer found the firm costlier than other quotes but felt the reliable local service was worth it, and another says the equipment was not the cheapest but rated its capabilities highly. No significant complaints are reported.
Although Alan and Ben didn't install our original solar panels and battery, the work they've carried out since has meant we've fully optimised our system. Extremely knowledgeable, patient and responsive to questions, continued support after installation - all delivered with a friendly, trustworthy service. Incredibly happy we found them and would highly recommend their services to anyone looking to improve their home solar system.
Great experience from start to finish. The initial consultation was clear with a realistic prediction about what we could achieve and the various options available. The work was carried out on time and to a very high standard - with particular care paid to minimising the visual impact of the installation. The system has worked flawlessly since and Alan has given us great post-installation support in handling the necessary export applications and checking the system is working as expected. On-site Alan and Ben were always friendly and happy to answer any questions about the current state of the project. Highly recommended; hire with confidence.
Excellent service by Alan and team. Very knowledgable and panels installed and working well
Alan and Ben have done a really neat job fitting solar panels, a battery and a car charger to our 1930s semi in St Albans. We got 5 quotes from various large and small solar companies, and although Sol Power was at the higher end, it’s been well worth the extra for the ability to have a reliable local team who are happy to work alongside other contractors and fit to our schedule. Service has been great throughout, and the team has carefully thought through every stage of the installation process, taking our needs and preferences into account. V highly recommend.
I got 3 quotes for going solar - 2 from big national players, and 1 local one from Sol Power. Whilst this was not the cheapest option, I went with Sol Power for 3 reasons: 1) the product quality of the recommended panels and battery was clearly superior (there are lots of youtube videos and AI summaries out there to help you do a bit of your own research); 2) With Alan I quickly realised I was getting a local personal expert Energy Consultant compared to the prospect of trying to get help from a national call centre, and 3) the responsiveness and speed with which Alan, Ben and Charlie turned it from concept into reality was superb. So if you are looking for quality friendly service rather than pushy sales, face-to-face rather than over the phone, and a product set up you feel confident will last and deliver savings in the long run, then look no further. Just be ready for the addictive nature of the app when your system is up and running and the sun is shining!
Really helpful, efficient, quick and competitvely priced job from Alan and Ben at Sol Power, when the inverter for our Solar panels on the roof stopped working. Would absolutely use again for any of our solar needs, thanks chaps!
Fantastic! I have been considering Solar for some years, but have never found a contractor or system that I was happy to use. From start to finish, Alan and team gave great, honest advice. There was no oversell of what to expect the system to do, just a realistic detail of how this would work. The install team were clean and tidy, the work is wonderfully well installed. I wish I had found Solpower years ago. The system they use is not the cheapest available, but what it can do and how it can be added to makes it by far the best I have come across. The smart app makes it very easy to use, and even has AI working to save money and optimise the system. Looking forward to Solar cooked Christmas Turkey this year. Well done Solpower, cannot fault you
Alan did a wonderful job in designing and installing a comprehensive solar and battery system whilst also co-ordinating the installation during significant building work going on at the house. Alan was helpful and engaging throughout the process. The performance of the new system is in line with what Alan claimed too. Very happy with the installation process and the products themselves.
Really pleased to find an excellent local business, and I highly recommend Sol Power for PV panel installations. A great team who completed our removal, reinstallation and the addition of new panels. We received good advice on what actions we needed to take and how best to meet our requirements. Alan kept us up-to-date on timings and the team were incredibly diligent, offering great advice and guidance throughout. The finished installation was done efficiently, tidily and certified.
Excellent people who have done an impressive job of sourcing and installing my roof full of solar panels, Tesla Power Wall 3 and EV charger. I got sound advice on what to choose and upgrade to meet our requirements, promptly followed up with a clear proposal. Alan, Ben and Charlie always kept their promises on logistics, when they would be doing work, and what would be happening. Alan efficently dealt with the (myriad) paperwork required by Octopus on our behalf. The finished installation is super tidy, certified, and documented. I continue to get pro-active support to check all continues to work as expected, and help on how to navigate the switch to the correct Octopus tariff (there are many!) for a good return exporting the sun power and stored battery power. A pleasure to find a high quality local business.
We have had excellent service from Alan and Ben. The problem with our solar generating system was identified and fixed quickly and efficiently. Strongly recommended.
I cannot recommend Alan and his team highly enough. There are sadly a lot of cowboys in the solar industry, but Sol Power are a breath of fresh air. Highly knowledgeable, helpful, fair and transparent pricing and a pleasure to work with.

I was very pleased with my experience of Solpower. I received a very clear survey and plan of work. Work was carried out efficiently and to a high standard. Communication was excellent and I have been supported in signing up to the most relevant power supplier and tariff. Good hand over of relevant paperwork and certification. Highly recommended.
