The team at Spirit Energy was helpful and friendly from my first point of contact with Nathan who provided clear, unhurried explanations, discussed options and who seemed keen to ensure the proposed solution met my detailed needs rather than just to sell me a system. There was no sales pressure and lots of useful background information to help me understand. This was a refreshing contrast to some other companies that I contacted. Our system was installed in summer 2026 and has 25 panels and a Tesla Powerwall 3, which I wanted positioned in a secluded, inaccessible location requiring complex cable runs both externally and internally between these components and the Gateway, and yet when Justin visited for the site survey his helpful and collaborative approach demonstrated that he wanted to make the installation suit our needs with discrete cable runs and component locations, even though that would make the work of installing it more complex for them. I really felt that they cared about giving me the system that I wanted in its capacity, aesthetics and appearance and with which I would be living for years. On site, Ari checked we were happy with the final position of the panels before fixing them in place, similarly Matt and Dave checked the detail and appearance of the cable runs and calmly persisted in tackling the convoluted cabling, electrical connections and commissioning. Although there were some delays in scheduling the installation we are very pleased with the finished installation from Spirit Energy and I'm pleased to recommend their system which is already delivering the benefits they outlined in my first conversation with them.
Excellent service, highly recommended. Spirit provided good advice on the number of panels and size of home battery, even saying what would be too much or not worthwhile. Install team turned up exactly when they said they would, fitting was very neat and professionally done. We've now had the benefit of several months usage so know their forecasted solar generation is accurate. All necessary paperwork was provided by Spirit.
Thr initial installation was completed 4 years ago and was carried out to a v high standard. Unfortunately out powerwall 2 battery failed from a known fault . We contacted Spirit and not only did they replace it under warranty but we upgraded to an additional battery unit. This was all done in 2 weeks amazing service. I would highly recommend them

This was a rather unusual and challenging installation, for various reasons. As well as having a three phase supply, only one rather difficult-to-reach location was available for a single solar panel. (The rest of the installation involved three batteries plus supporting hardware.) Spirit Energy were very professional and helpful throughout. They listened very patiently to our requirements and concerns and went out of their way to address them. The work was done to the agreed schedule and budget. The installers did everything they could to ensure that the cabling and system units were as unobtrusive as possible, and everything was finished off neatly. Apart from the cardboard packaging, everything was taken away and the site left tidy. The installers were polite and respectful, and, once commissioning had occurred, the system was well explained. The after-care so far has been very good. I would definitely recommend Spirit Energy to other potential customers.
Re my pre-sale & design experience, Nathan was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He spent a lot of time explaining the technology choices and the terminology which was new to me and he compiled a comprehensive quote for our property.
Power wall 3 expansion pack with 30 solar panels. The enquiry through to the ordering went well with good communication . Once it was handed to a ‘project manager’ after an initial correspondence the information and updates were non existent unless i asked for an update or asked for clarification. On occasions this took days for a reply and i had to chase up. The installation team were brilliant, installation was neat, the team were tidy,and everything was explained to me.
The mark of a good company is that they provide a high-quality service from initial survey through to installation and commissioning. The mark of a great company is that they stand by their warranty when something goes wrong several years down the line, with no fuss or bother Spirit Energy is a GREAT company. Last week, my Tesla Powerwall 2 home battery shut itself down and after speaking with Tesla support, they told me it needed to be replaced. I contacted Spirit Energy who originally installed the battery in 2022, and they immediately sorted a replacement through Tesla. A week later they called me to arrange installation of a replacement Powerwall 3. Hats off to Galad for arranging everything and to Dave & Brandon who arrived at 8am the very next day and who had finished the install by mid-morning. Did I mention that Spirit Energy is a GREAT company?

Max Fogleman the Technical design and sales engineer from Spirit Energy has been outstanding. Independently verifying information and design specifications I have received from other PV - Battery installers. Max has answered my phone call and emails promptly and professionally in a friendly and helpful manner. His extensive knowledge of Solar Panel and Home Battery systems is very impressive. I can totally recommend Max Fogleman and Spirit Energy to anyone who is considering an installation. I have been doing so to my friends and family. Spirit Energy has a national installation service which is excellent. They also have excellent videos on their web site which answers a myriad of questions one has when going through the process of design, installation and commissioning a Solar Panel - Battery installation. A 5* company.
Absolutely brilliant service from the team at Spirit Energy. I had a 16-panel solar system and a Tesla Powerwall 3 installed, and the process was faultless from start to finish. Their technical knowledge is a step above the rest. During the site survey, Justin managed to optimize the roof layout to fit 4 extra panels, which has been massively helpful for charging my EV. Dimitrios managed the project perfectly, keeping me in the loop regarding a consumer unit upgrade and even getting the scaffolding and roof works scheduled earlier than expected. Because they use their own in-house teams instead of subcontractors, the communication and workmanship were top-notch. The system is now fully integrated with my Octopus smart tariff and working beautifully. Highly recommended to anyone in the Reading area looking for a premium, reliable solar installer!
Spirit Energy, are a very professional company, Mark Golding helped us novices negotiate our way round the whole Solar panel system and took time to explain the system that would be right for our house, with no sales pressure at all. I had an excellent experience with Spirit Energy. Looking at solar can be a minefield for the lay-person. I first went through Money-saving expert £250 referral money off scheme. This led me to 3 super big companies, one told me my house was not suitable for solar (total BS) the other 2 were super heavy on sales team and recommended systems that would have been completely under-powered for our usage. I was also concerned about the Trustpilot reviews for these companies as installations used subcontractors and seemed really hit and miss about the experience of installation. I found another 2 companies that were smaller independents one of which was Spirit Energy. Nathan designed our system. I was really wary due to the other experiences and the 'salesy' process and was initially concerned that the system was over-powered for our needs. I need not have been worried. The system they built us has been absolutely perfect. We are a big electricity usage household, 3 teenagers and an EV car. I have had the system for 4 months now and can honestly say it fits our needs like a glove. Our roof is predominately west-facing and gets the sun from 11.30 to 8.30 pm. We generate enough solar for our needs during these lovely sunny days of the 2026 heatwave but even when it was first put in in March - with 2 batteries we can import energy overnight that lasts us all day. I imagine that in the winter we will be paying for electricity again but at moment we are actually making money on on our electricity. I am thrilled with our purchase. So after a lot of my waffle - The design was great. The installation was great. The system is operating fantastically. I fully and whole heartedly recommend Spirit Energy. I went with SigEnergy rather than Tesla and I also recommend this system. The control app is intuitive and the AI for controlling buying and selling electricity works extremely well. A very happy customer. Thanks to Nathan, Justin, Dimitrios and the installer team.
Fantastic service from end to end! Spirit Energy installed a Solar PV + battery system almost 3 years ago and we had a very pleasant experience with them. From the initial pre-sales/planning stage through installation and post-install support. Got a 6.5kW solar array paired with a 5/20kWh myenergi inverter/battery system. I was very particular about cable routing and the installers had no issues with complying to all my requests! Ended up with a super-neat install. I had some issues with the myenergi batteries and the team helped us to resolve these issues. Utilising the first years' learnings, we managed to set up the energy management (though Home Assistant) perfectly for the second year and had sub-£0 electricity bills for 6 months! Currently looking at 11 years RoI, which is shorter than initially estimated. Shout out to Megan, Jana, Ryan, Alpar and all others who were part of our journey! Thank you!
2026 I've moved and wish Spirit could have installed my solar & battery - seriously they are fantastic - it's a shame they didn't cover Scotland. 2020 Fantastic service, battery back up installed and not used mains electric for 6 days & counting. Quote very competitive, tidy & polite workers, product exceeded expectation. Very Happy

Josh installed a Zappi EV charger for us and provided excellent service. He was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Although the initial charger turned out to be faulty, he arranged for a replacement the next day, and everything is now working perfectly. Highly recommended

I had a very good experience with Spirit Energy who installed a Tesla PW3 + Battery Expansion packs and some extra solar panels. The installation was very well organised and completed on schedule. I would be very happy to use Spirit Energy again for future work.
I'm _very_ pleased with the service and installation I received from Spirit Energy last year. I'd actually given up on the idea of solar PV a couple of years earlier after two other companies had wasted my time (long stories!) and a third had proposed a pitifully tiny system. My sun-facing roof slope's modest size and chimney shading seemed to rule out the possibility of an array that would generate enough to be worthwhile. But last year I learned that having panels on the NNE side as well might not be as stupid as it sounded. I also came across Spirit Energy's YouTube videos and was impressed by their straightforward presentations of information and advice. Spirit's Web site too was more informative than many, gave realistic waiting times, and wasn't as awash with "Get a quote!" buttons as another site I checked out at the time. I decided to put last year's project on hold and ask Spirit to quote for a solar PV and home battery installation. The quote was a two-stage process, which seems to be normal with solar quotes. Spirit produced an initial system proposal and ball-park price based on a satellite photo and information I'd given them. When I remained interested, they arranged an actual visit to take more accurate measurements, inspect the condition of the roof and existing electrics, and fine-tune the quote. The roof turned out not to be able to accommodate all the proposed panels in portrait orientation after all (legally), so the lower rank on each side would have to be landscape orientated and three of the proposed panels would have to go. Ironically, this put the price _up_ a bit, apparently because of the different mounting requirements. But the increase wasn't a lot in the scheme of things and there were no other changes. It would be my responsibility though, before the installation date, to get the house's 1980s fuse box replaced with a modern consumer unit. Spirit took care of the DNO applications and MCS certification, as you'd expect. They also had a third-party engineering consultancy confirm the roof's ability to support the weight of the arrays and insured my deposit (and later the warranty) against the unlikely event of their suddenly going out of business. Their estimate of how long it would take DNO permission to come through was pretty much spot on. There was another visit nearer the installation date to work out various technical details. The scaffolding was entrusted to a local company in my area, but the installation was carried out by Spirit's own roofers and electricians, who brought everything with them the 70-odd miles from Reading and installed it in a day. The electricians stayed behind for a while afterwards to familiarise me with the system and help me set up the app. In the nearly a year since then, the system's been working well and decimating my electricity bills. It's overcome my roof's limitations even more effectively than I'd imagined and it's almost embarrassing how much electricity the panels are churning out in the sunnier months! The battery's come into its own more during the winter, but of course its software's managing the system all the time. Spirit has answered in detail a couple of minor questions I've had since the installation and has recently got in touch again to check that everything's still going well. "Spirit" here obviously refers to the several individuals who were involved in various capacities between my initial enquiry and the installation or who've answered my queries since. They all have my gratitude and I've no hesitation in recommending the company to anyone considering a solar PV and/or battery installation.
I contacted Spirit Energy regarding Solar and Battery storage plus EV charging after seeing their excellent You Tube videos. Spoke to Max Fogelman who was extremely friendly and helpful. He gave me very good advice and quickly put together a comprehensive design proposal. Unfortunately with Spirit being based in Reading they are a long way from my home so I decided to go with a local installer used previously by a friend of mine. Max was very good about not getting the business and said he was available if I changed my mind or needed to any further advice. I would not hesitate in recommending talking to Spirit Energy and Max to anyone looking to start their solar / battery storage journey.
Fantastic experience talking to Jordan, he actively listened the issues we have, came back to us with a great specification for our home and happily explained all to me, we thrashed a few ideas around and he was very receptive. Unfortunately we didn't progress to an order, but I was hugely impressed by Jordan, his professionalism and Spirit Energy as a company :)
Spirit Energy fitted 17 solar panels and a Sigenergy battery system in February and everything went smoothly. From the first contact with Nathan thier technical appraisal was first class and streets ahead of the so called big four energy companies who only gave generic quotes which would have proved inadequate for my needs. A professional installation team who were prepared to answer the many questions I had at the time. Full marks to Spirit Energy.

Had a great experience with Spirit Energy when they designed and installed our system. We have PV and a battery and we’re an unusual installation due to our house being listed. Good advice, thoroughly professional and the system is excellent. Have personally recommended to a couple of friends and happy to do so here electronically. Our install was in June 2024 and the performance from then until now has been flawless
An excellent company to deal with. We had solar panels already, but decided this was the time to add a battery. Having discussed the same with the guys at Spirit Solar we were able to do calculations with them to estimate the pay back time, which made economic sense give the installation cost and the absence of VAT on retrofits. We chose a Tesla Powerwall 3 and were delighted with the service and fitting throughout. From the guys in the office through to the site surveyor through to the electrician and his mate who did the installation. The only ‘drag’ in the system was the paperwork, but Spirit Energy helped us through it all making it as smooth as possible. All-in-all a seamless operation by a company who offers a 1st class service with people who know their business and are a delight to deal with.

The Wow Factor Experience I have always been fascinated by renewable energy due to lower running costs and reduced carbon footprint. So when I finally moved into my own house, I immediately did some research into it. I watched a YouTube video by the Technical Designer Tok from Spirit Energy about this, which was well presented and informative and this really interested me. I decided to get a quote from Spirit as it is a local, long established and experienced company. Whilst I did talk to more than one installer, once I had spoken to Spirit, I did not want to consider anyone else. I was very impressed with the Head of Residential Nathan, who took on my enquiry and who also undertook the site survey. This was due to his professionalism and passion, especially as he has got a relevant qualification. Spirit finally recommended 10 LONGi 490W mono black solar panels with a bird mesh and a Tesla Powerwall 3 and Tesla Backup Gateway 2 battery storage system, which was state of the art at the time of ordering in September 2025. This also included it being wired in such a way to allow the option of expanding the system in the future. They seamlessly navigated Payback Period guesswork given that I had only lived in my newly renovated property for just over one month. Spirit also managed to successfully overcome the challenge of using out of date internet satellite images and road footage for their estimate. They even did a Net Present Value calculation and recommended Octopus Flux to me! The Spirit technical and structural survey undertaken by the Senior Electrician Simon was very comprehensive and he was very punctual and knowledgeable. The Project Manager Dimitrios was very well organised and gave an excellent First Class customer service, keeping me promptly updated about my order at all times. The DNO approval for the full requested 11.04kW generation and 11.04kW export limit was swiftly offered, no doubt because I was only the third out of 27 houses on my 1960s street to install solar panels. Spirit also permitted me to change the colour of the solar panels to all black the week before the installation, as they were the most up to date. I am so glad they did - they look fabulous! To be quite honest I was completely shocked at the installation team of the Roofers Jozsef and Rob and the Electricians Dan and Brandon in March 2026. They turned up 23 minutes early (at 7:37am) and finished way ahead of schedule. The tradesmen were very polite, enthusiastic and efficient. There was great care and attention to detail with the handling of the equipment and the electrical cables, including putting the trunking on neatly and making the Earth Rod cabling obscure, and they even tidied up after themselves. Being direct employees of Spirit meant they could no doubt have higher quality control standards. I am extremely pleased with the result. In fact, I would say my property looks better with solar panels on it and so far the system has been very good. The scaffolding subcontractor JCR Scaffolding was outstanding. The scaffolding could not have been up for a shorter period of time, much to the delight of my neighbours. The issuing of the Handover Pack with all the relevant documents was given in a timely manner. Spirit’s time management is exemplary. I was also very happy with the Financial Assistant Fig, as he was very formal in his communication. Spirit genuinely takes great pride in its work, because two months later the Head of Customer Experience Ronnie got in touch to ask whether everything was working as expected, which it was not as it exceeded my expectations. Overall, Spirit went above and beyond to maximise the return from my roof space and give me the best possible value for money, to ensure I received the most beneficial long term financial investment. Spirit is the Rolls-Royce of solar panels and battery storage installers, and Spirit’s name certainly befits Rolls-Royce’s emblem. I was taken aback and astonished at how good Spirit is and I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone.
Amazing service from start to finish. Great advice, information and quote. Very speedy installation, completing in 1 day, including battery and mains going under the stairs in the middle of the house. The team were like clockwork. I was always kept informed about what was happening and they were neat and tidy. My neighbour regretted not having them to install their panels!

I had a good experience with Spirit Energy from the initial proposal to the complete installation. Very professional and with clear communication. A special thanks to Harry Raspin for the initial sales work and to Rachel Brown who coordinated the whole process and was very responsive to questions and changes. Spirit Energy installed our 12 solar panels in three arrays of 3, 4 and 5 panels in June 2022. The Tesla Powerwall 2 was installed in February 2023. They also laid in a car charger cable for later use. We went with roof level inverters because that was the best way of optimising the system at the time. We initially chose Spirit Energy because of the amount of useful information on their website when compared to others plus the help and advice given by Mark when came to do the initial visit. They kept us well informed throughout the installation which went through without ant hiccups. The installation team were a dream to have round the house also. The system has operated faultlessly over the past 3 years save one minor hiccup when the Enphase Envoy lost the panels but this was only a reporting problem which Spirit Energy support team quickly got rectified. We are extremely happy with the performance of the system and it is doing exactly what we wanted it to do namely reducing the running cost of the house. We are with Octopus and are using their Intelligent Flux tariff which works well with the system. We would have no hesitation in recommending Spirit Energy.
After spending sometime researching I ended up following up with Spirit Energy and getting solar and battery installed. They had been recommended to me by a friend who had used them, which speaks volumes in itself. Very helpful, looked to help meet my specific needs and honest. I'd recommend short listing them if you are looking at a new or expanding an existing system.
My system was installed in January 2023 and has been running perfectly for 2½ years. It comprise three solar panels and 13.5kWHr Tesla Powerwall2. Given that I get electric car charging rates from Octopus Energy, I use overnight electricity to top up the battery (plus solar) and never pay peak time rates. Apart from car charging, I use about 7kWHrs a day to run the house which is perfect for my system design. Lat year my solar panels generated just over 1MWHr of energy which represented about a quarter of my total electricity usage (including car charging). I chose Spirit Energy through a recommendation from Tesla UK and had no previous knowledge of them. I feel I made the right choice as their performance in understanding my requirements and the design of a system that matched this was really excellent. The quality of installation and commissioning work was professional and I have experienced no problems since it was installed. We have lived though a number of electricity feeder issue in our road and each time the Powerwall has isolated itself and then resynchronised so we did not notice the outage. One small point to consider with car charging; Spirit Energy recommended that the car charger should be connected to the battery circuit and not directly to the grid connection so that I could measure my total usage and system performance. This was fully articulated to me, but in retrospect it has the disadvantage of not being able to charge the car in peak hours (which I rarely do) without draining the battery; in this case I must raise the Powerwall minimum charge capacity on the app each time, and then remember to swap it back to 20% after charging. They are a great company to work with and I am very happy to recommend them for their professional engineering and installation skills.
Spirit of Energy installed additional solar panels and 2 Powerwall batteries for us last summer. The installation went very well and the system has worked efficiently and very effectively ever since. Also, the help team have helped instantly when I have asked questions or wanted help in setting up the various options for charging the batteries. Highly recommend anyone interested in solar and batteries to contact Spirit of Energy.
An excellent experience. Spirit Energy have been good to work with throughout my install and will take into account any preferences you may have system-wise, while advising accordingly. Definitely not a one-size-fits-all approach. My system has been working well and meeting (even slightly exceeding!) expectations since its installation last summer.

Helpful initial engagement call to discuss various system designs, and eventually settled on a modified version of the initial quote for a PV only system. Good contact from the project manager, and excellent and tidy installation and follow up from the installation team. Have had panels in for nearly 6 months now and they are working very well. Would happily recommend, no complaints whatsoever.

Mark, Peace, Ben, and Simon (the electrical engineer) have taken excellent care of us. With our south-facing roof and the continuous rise in energy prices, choosing solar energy was clearly the best decision. Additionally, selecting the right system, ensuring professional installation, and having a variety of panels to choose from—along with securing batteries to be installed as soon as they reach the market, EV charger installation—are the reasons we decided Spirit Energy. This move also resulted in an impressive EPC rating of A.
I contacted Spirit Energy with fairly fixed ideas on what I wanted. I got a quote for exactly that with very good data on expected performance and how the roof would look with the panels fitted. The salesmen then suggested a much better optimised system and explained the advantages of this and it's better return on investment. I decided to accept his better proposal. During the survey I was guided through the installation and we mutually agreed the position of the components and the cable runs. The engineer doing the survey was very experienced and helpful throughout. A few days after the survey I was contacted by a lady who introduced herself as my project manager and she kept me well informed about progress and timings. Finally an installation crew were very efficient in their work and during the commisioning set up my control of the system using the suppler app on my phone. All of the people involved are directly employed by this family owned company and the only sub contractors used are the scaffolders. Everyone was efficient and helpful throughout the whole process. Now over two years later my system generates about 10% better than forecast and exceeds our consumption twice over. Overall I think I could not have chosen a better company to work with and highly recommend them.
Highly recommended! Excellent customer service and installation experience. I had my 5 KWh system installed with no issues, they were very honest and did not recommended a battery due to the potential to divert to my electric cars (I.e. I wouldn't make my money back).
Great experience from initial quoting to installation. The team adapted to an existing battery system and layered solar over the top which is a great addition. It felt like the process was fair with no surprises. The installation looks neat and tidy and I'd be happy to recommend them to new customers.
Spirit installed our Tesla Powerwall 2 a few years ago and it's been a game changer for us. We only have a small 3kw solar array (15 years old) which is still working well, but we mainly benefited when the Sun was out. With the Battery storage we can use the additional power anytime. (It also enabled us to sign up with Octopus for one of their superb tariffs 🙂)... We decided to get the gas capped, and went all electric because it was the obvious thing to do, our annual Grid energy consumption, and of course our bills, have plummeted to about a 1/3rd of what they were. And Spirit helped us achieve that. I highly recommend Spirit Energy. The Sun is a gift, shame to waste it ...
Just an update on my review from 5 years ago when Spirit Energy installed my panels. All has worked perfectly since and I haven’t had any issues, very happy. Original review: Very impressed by this company, installing panels on a new extension. They were very knowledgeable and not pushy at all. Fitted in with my timetable. Highly recommended.
We've had solar PV and later Tesla Battery system from Spirit Energy for over 8 years. Its all been SUPER reliable (zero issues), and has saved SO much money. It's SO good to effectively have 'an oil well' on your roof and a tank to save it. For every light day I get over 100 miles of EV range or 3+ days energy. The battery also allows importing low cost (7p/kWh) at night to use, if needed during the day which would otherwise cost 25p+/kWh

Had the solar system for about 5 years, no issues with the system or installation was all very professionally done. App that was recommended isn't great, seems to lose data and disconnect, so am having to go into the roof to reset the dongle all the time, have given up and use the meter instead.
A highly professional outfit with real expertise. Our solar/battery system was installed in 2021 and has worked well ever since with the exception of the Tesla battery which failed after 4 years. Tesla did eventually come up with a replacement battery under their guarantee and Spirit carried out the replacement as soon as they had received the replacement from Tesla. The battery/solar system is particularly beneficial as we effectively run the house mostly on night-time cheap electricity stored in the battery.
I had my install done in 2020, and I am so pleased I did. I had a Tesla PW2 and 15 solar panels.. I added a 2nd PW2 in 2023. Spirit were great at all stages of the planning and the install. Helpful and friendly to all of my questions. Also good value and I felt I was dealing with a trusted local business, and that was important to me..

Great install 4 KW solar panels and Powerwall. Have had the system up and running for approx. 6 years no problems and making enough energy to power my house, cook, heat water, and charge my EV its a no brainer to install solar and battery i would defiantly use Spirit again
Spirit Energy installed our 13 x 470w Photo-Voltaic panels, Solar Edge Optimisers & Inverter and a Tesla Gateway in June 2021. The Tesla Powerwall 2 battery followed in November 2021. Their engineers arrived on time, worked hard and carefully and in a very tidy and considerate manner. The 1st stage installation was completed and commissioned in 2 days. Their commissioning engineer gave me a detailed run through of the system and ensured that I had the system monitoring App working on my phone and PC. I specifically chose Spirit Energy to supply and install this system, as I trusted their reputation and wanted the superb associated monitoring software. I had Solar Edge Optimisers included as 3 of the panels would be shaded in early morning and late afternoon, even though my roofs were South facing. Bird proofing was fitted while the scaffolding was on site. I recommend this to anyone considering a PV installation, the extra cost was only 5% of the overall system. When the Tesla Powerwall 2 battery came back into stock, Spirit Energy engineers returned to install it. Once again, their engineers arrived on time, worked hard and carefully and in a very tidy and considerate manner. The 2nd stage installation was completed and commissioned in 1 day. Our electricity contract is through Octopus Go, with Outgoing Octopus to pay us for our export to the grid. Return on investment time is hard to quantify, but consider that, to date, the system has generated approx: June 2021 to Dec 2021 2MWh 2022 5MWh 2023 4.5MWh 2024 4MWh 2025 4.5MWh Jan to April 2026 1MWh So that represents 21MWh we have used that, without the PV system, we would have paid approx £5,800 for. Even in the wintertime, the Tesla Powerwall 2 battery has been beneficial, by charging up overnight on a cheap rate and powering the house for most of the following day. We have also had 2 short power outages since the battery installation and the battery cut in to power the house seamlessly, without even a flicker of the lights. I would definitely recommend Spirit Energy and the system they installed for us.
Spirit Energy installed solar panels with a battery and EV charger for me. I found them highly professional and a pleasure to deal with at every stage of the process from initial discussions through to system design, installation, and commissioning. There was a two-month delay after the solar panel installation before they could install my EV charger but it was purely down to the DNO taking their time to authorise connection to the grid. Their quote was not the lowest I obtained but I felt they were worth it. I would highly recommend.
Initial consultation to add a battery to an existing solar panel system through to completion of work, even during lock down was great. System has been in operation for a few years now and works really well for us. Needed some help with a wiring diagram which Spirt provided almost immediately so no complaints from us. Great installer
My solar installation was completed yesterday, and have to say the whole process from initial quote to installation was incredibly straightforward and simple. The whole team were super helpful and happy to answer any questions I had. On installation day there were a few delays due to illness which meant the installation was a day longer than it should have been but this was communicated by the project manager on the morning and everything was smooth from that point. The electrician did a very in-depth handover of all the components, and all trades were very neat and left a tidy finish. Overall I would happily recommend Spirit Energy to anyone interested in solar power.
I used Spirit Energy's online DNO application service, filled the simple form in a couple of minutes, paid the very reasonable fee and less than a week later I had a G99 offer from the DNO for up to 7kw. They answered any questions I had by email and I have had absolutely no other "sales pressure" to use their other services. Very positive experience.
Following recommendations from friends we had Spirit Energy install 18 solar pv panels, a Powerwall 3 and DC Expansion pack at our home in Reading. The fact they were a recommended local installer, using exclusively in-house technicians, was a key part of our decision. Throughout they have been a very straightforward and proactive company with whom to work. Their advice has always been very sound and fully and clearly explained at every stage. They did all of the background preparatory work, making the whole process seamless and simple for us. Our initial solar plan for 12 panels on roughly south-facing roofs of the garage and house came in under-budget, so we added an extra 5 panels on our west(-ish) facing roof for a final 8.3 kWp system. The actual work was completed towards the end of March 2025 to a very high standard, with a minimum of disruption and mess, by a team of very friendly, polite and thoroughly professional installers. By fortune of the amazing early April weather spell, the system is producing seriously impressive amounts of energy. We have no hesitation in highly recommending Spirit Energy to anyone. Edit: Spirit’s estimated solar generation for our system was 7040 kWh per year. This was within 1%! With the Powerwall 3 and DC expansion pack, the result has been a near £0 nett energy bill for 12 months despite having a heat pump and EV
I had 20 solar panels and Tesla Powerwall plus expansion and Hypervolt home pro 3 EV charger installed by Spirit. The whole process from initial contact through design and install was faultless. Having an electrical background, after researching, I had a good idea what I needed. The design department and installation team were open to discussion on all aspects even minor details which I was very particular with such as the neatness of cable runs. I can’t fault a single aspect of the installation or the team involved. They set up the App and the system has worked faultlessly since installed two months ago.
Excellent work from Peace & Karin in the project team through to the video’s Tok has posted on You Tube that first introduced me to Spirit. Then Nathan in Residential who works the numbers and configuration of the Tesla/PV set-up through to Justin who did the site survey and finally the commissioning engineer, Dan who got us up and running with the set-up and apps. HIGHLY recommend the team and company.
I recently had to contact the Spirit support team regarding 'gaining proof' of ownership of my Tesla / Solar panel installation. 4 years on Peace (a project manager) was able to supply me sufficient proof of installation to enable me to change electricity provider from Octopus energy to UW. Great Company, fitted our system last September, turn up on time and when there said they were coming. We had an issue due to a product recall and the support department got us booked in for the with in a day. They also added two more batteries for us at the same time as the fix and we were back up and running after 3 more day. Thank you for all your help.
Spirit Energy installed Tesla powerwall 3 battery into our home in near Fareham in July 2025. From first contact with Nathan to the installation process - the team kept us informed, Ryan & co turned up early at 8am and worked efficiently and professionally through the day and ensured everything was working before leaving. They explained, suggested improvements and came back to install the correct length link cable. They answered our questions with honesty and integrity - not for their benefit but mine. Very easy to deal with, great price and super helpful pre the install of my battery system. The engineers fitting it were brilliant and did a very tidy job with a couple of really good ideas to make it neater. The system works great and all I've got to now is save up for the solar panels that will make me mostly not reliant on the grid. Sadly I've got a weird roof which makes the fittings more expensive but we'll get there soon I hope.
My interaction with Spirit Energy has been a positive and upliftng experience. The company that initially installed my solar panels many years ago is no longer in business but when I contacted a number of solar installation companies to ask for help, Spirit Energy responded to my request in a timely and helpful manner. Understanding my needs they did their best to help me and in this day and age that is something that cannot be taken for granted. Spirit installed my solar and battery in June 2025 and now I think its fair I write a proper review of this company after living with their install for a period of time. I found them via youtube, as they produce some very good and informative videos where I learnt a tonne about the technology while I weighed up whether to go ahead with a solar install while I re-roofed my house. Figuring they'd be just too big and lead times would be incredibly long for a popular company, I approached various other companies and was pretty horrified at the prices for some pretty basic setups, misleading generation data or outright silence if I asked a question. I then approached Spirit and the response from them was leagues apart. Since my power went out, twice, while trying to write them an email, I decided to ask for a premium system with powercut protection et all. The price came back higher than the others, but the system was way better. It was good value, and they communicated well and came out to survey to provide a proper, firm quote. Nothing seemed to be too much hassle for them and they happily answered and checked thoroughly to see what the best setup would be. No other company at this stage was matching how Spirit handled this. The install itself was smooth. They arrived on time, and cracked on without issue. The sparky went above what many would do, ensuring cable runs were neat, discreet and penetrations through walls were sealed up rather than being left open. I was walked through the system and app for the battery, and the system was generating instantly. It was bright and sunny and it was generating at its rated max output. Not long later, I received the commissioning paperwork and it was done, the system was set up. I spent 14 days disconnected from the grid, using nothing but solar to see how well it could do, and only reconnected to start exporting. The tech itself has been great, the panels generate even on miserable days, albeit not much. Sunny days I have more electric coming in than I can use. The battery + inverter is intelligent and I never have to use peak electric, saving our house a small fortune every month. Payback period looks to be around 2 years less than Spirit estimated, depending on electricity prices and export rates of course. I cannot rate this company highly enough. In my view, these are the professionals, these are the elite of the solar industry. From their educational youtube channel, their office staff, their install teams, everything about them speaks professional. And in a industry which is unfortunately full of chancers, this company stands proudly high.

We were very impressed with the installation of our solar panels & batteries by Spirit Energy. From start to finish communication has been excellent. The scaffolding was put up just before the installation started and taken down again as soon as the roof work was completed. All the personnel from both the scaffolding firm and from Spirit Energy themselves were polite and friendly and the work was carried out with care. All packaging was removed at the end of each day and the site was left tidy. All in all one of the best experiences we have had with regard to work being carried out here.

After having solar panels and a Tesla battery installed, I experienced two technical queries relating to scheduling the battery to import and our smart meter. On contacting Spirit Energy support department both these queries were resolved completely. It is very reassuring to know that this support is available.
We couldn't be more delighted with the solar system Spirit Energy have installed at our house and how the installation has gone. From very first contact with Spirit's sales team, through to the system finally being handed over, the company has been a pleasure to work with. Within days of us making first contact with the company, Archie, from Spirit's Technical Sales team came to our house to carry out an initial survey and suggest what kind of system would work best for us. The sales process was highly professional and included the production of a detailed quote, including estimated cost savings we could expect to make and how long the system would take to pay for itself. The initial visit by Archie was followed up by a more detailed technical survey by Justin, Spirit's Head of Installations. Throughout the sales process, we always felt entirely confident that Spirit were experts in their field and were making the best possible recommendations. We ended up agreeing to buy a 40 panel system with two Tesla Powerwall 3s and a myenergi Zappi EV charger. The entire installation was overseen by Peace, Spirit's Project Manager, who did a great job of keeping us in touch with what the next steps were and when they would be happening. She was also our first point of contact for any questions or concerns. Without exception, everyone in the team who carried out the installation did a great job in quite difficult weather conditions and were a pleasure to have at our house. Now that the system is live, it's very satisfying to see that even though we’re in the depths of autumn/winter, the system is already producing and offsetting enough energy to make us almost fully independent of the grid. We can’t wait to see how it performs in the summer, if it’s this good already! We're very happy customers and we'd have no hesitation to recommend Spirit Energy to anyone else considering installing a solar energy system.
Arrived promptly at 8 and worked really hard throughout the day. The crew were really helpful and communicated clearly with us throughout the day. The roofers did a fab job with the solar panels as we have a difficult roof layout and even cleared the gutters afterwards. The electricians were also really helpful in placing the equipment where we wanted it and putting cables in difficult areas to the point that one of my neighbours who had had a similar installation was impressed by the quality and detail Spirit had gone to compared to his installation. Very happy customer. Thank you.
Extremely professional from first contact to completion of the installation of our panels and battery. I was referred to Spirit by an existing customer and I can see why they were confident to do so. I'm sure their post-sale support will also be excellent but hoping to never need it!
After being impressed by Tok’s excellent YouTube videos Spirit Energy were the only company I approached for a quote. After one encouraging email reply from Nathan Lau where he did suggest it may be easier to phone although also said ‘let me know if you have any questions’, as the questions were specifically to do with the design and included drawings I felt it better to send them via email prior to speaking. I specifically added my phone number to my email sign-off so that he could contact me by phone as suggested. He then never responded to any of my 3 further emails or phoned me. I eventually gave up and have just spent £16k with another company. I also have solar to arrange for my two siblings, but unfortunately wont be asking Spirit for a quote. I appreciate that this isn’t necessarily a reflection of the company as a whole or the quality of their work, but there’s a limit to how much chasing I’m willing to do to spend my money with a company. I’ve upgraded my rating from a 1 as my experience probably isn’t usual.

I've just had the pleasure of working with SpiritEnergy. They installed 77 x 480w panels on my house roof (top, north, south, east and west facing) and 3 x Tesla Powerwalls. Even now at end of October I am able to run my house fully off-grid... In particular I would also like to mention Ari (the site supervisor) who kept me informed throughout and found space for an additional 12 panels which I was very happy with. Also, with Dan who was the senior electrician. He did an amazing job of the wiring and making me feel comfortable. It was also good to work with Ben, Jo and Will. I would highly recommend this company if you want Solar and/or Battery for your house. It feels very nice to have low (-ve) energy bills...

Fantastic customer services. Installed our panels over 7 years ago. Fixed a small issue with readings quickly when under warranty. Now we are selling, they have been extremely quick to respond to queries and still have relevant paperwork on file that we need to help progress the sale.
After a very successful and professional install of Solar and Battery in March this year, I decided I needed additional battery capacity before the winter. Spirit's quote was very competative, and I placed the order Tuesday. I was contacted by Proj Manager Wednesday asking if I was available to install Thursday morning. This morning (Thursday!), the install team arrived and took just over an hour to install and test the battery. Everything went very smoothly. While I may have been fortunate in that they had had a cancellation so could install very quickly, I'm very happy with the speed, price, and quality of the install, and I now have 27KW in time for the dark season!

I have been really impressed with Spirit Energy team. I had 18 panels and Powerwall 3 installed two weeks ago. From design to commissioning the process has been smooth, overcoming complex challenges which has resulted in a neat install with minimal issues. - No issues with scaffold - No issues with mounting and installing panels. I was worried about cables under the panels and bird mesh on some of the corners not flush to tiles but have been assured these are not issues - Powerwall 3 install and wiring in the garage is neat and hardwired to my router - Wiring from garage to the utility, on the other side of the house is neat. - Wiring of the gateway in the utility is neat. - Commissioning and handover was thorough with all the documents post install received prior to paying remaining 10% of my invoice So far, no issues with wind, rain and the system is running well. Can't wait to export! BIG THANKS to Tok, Matt, Sam, Ari, Harry, Peace and Justin for being patient with all my questions. Matt especially took care to understand my concerns and step me through every inch of the install. Thank you
We’ve been really happy with our whole solar installation experience with Spirit Energy. When we started investigating solar we compared the council scheme, national installers as well as a few local installers. From the initial talks with Spirit Energy and going through our requirements of what we were after, they quickly moved to the top of our list due to their recommendations and knowledge, so we signed with them. As we have a slate roof, the roof works took a few visits to complete, and high winds didn’t help, but all the work was completed to a high standard and now have 26x panels and Powerwall 3 all connected and generating just in time for the good weather! Happy to recommend.
My overall experience has been pretty much first rate. Design process was thorough, site visit was informative and installation and commissioning professional. Email communications have on the whole been good however I have had to chase replies a couple of times. Now, over 3 weeks after the system went live I haven’t used a drop of electricity from the grid. Hopefully it won’t be too long before the remaining paperwork including guarantees and DNO authorisation to export to the grid finally arrives on my doorstep. Happy to give a 5 star rating
Long term review ;) In 2011 Spirit Energy installed a 3.8 kW solar system with inverter on my house. The price was competitive. The installation process was well co-ordinated and hassle free. The system has performed flawlessly for the last 14 years with no issues. I recently contacted them to obtain some paperwork dating back 14 years and got a helpful response the same day. I would thoroughly recommend them for both their systems and the level of service they provide.
I would like to record my thanks to Spirit Energy. I was struggling to understand a proposal that I had received from a competitor and asked Spirit's Technical Team for assistance. Acknowledging that Spirit were unlikely to be engaged on this project, they were still prepare to spend time running through the capabilitie of a Powerwall 3 and identifying areas where improvements to the proposal I had received might be considered to match our objectives more closely. Their help without expectation of reward was exceptional - as is the extent of the knowldge freely available on the website. Outstanding culture - thank you
Really impressed with the team at Spirit Energy. They know their stuff inside out and take a super honest, no-pressure approach — which is rare in the industry. You can tell they genuinely care about doing things properly. If they’re installing your solar, you’re in very good hands. Great people, and a business with a solid track record.
It is rare today to find a true 5* company but Spirit Energy live up to this accolade. I first asked for a quote when I realised I was using their website and videos to help explain other companies claims and quotes; solar can be a bemusing overload of new terms, claims and counterclaims but Spirit Energy said it plain, and compared products rather than big-ing up one in particular. I therefore was surprised I hadn’t actually asked them for a quote even though they were a local company! From start to finish I cannot fault their service and knowledge, they offered solid performing products with good warranties, matching workmanship warranties and handled everything quickly and efficiently. The quote was bang in the middle, not the cheapest not the most expensive but the best for the good-looking quality Aiko brand panels and high end Tesla battery. The survey was a double check and the installation date was booked. The scaffold guys came a few days before and within a few hours had erected half a house, they were polite and showed respect for my property. Then followed the installation crew, wow, they worked like an oiled machine. The banged around a bit, going in the loft, up the scaffold and working on the electrics…I kept the kettle on and biscuits flowing. Then they set up my app on my phone and said all done! “Can’t be”, I said, it was so quick and without a fuss, I even went to check they’d actually put the panels on the roof, yep perfect, 16 panels and a Tesla battery all up and functioning in less than a day. When they left the only sign a crew of men had swarmed over my roof and house was a couple of zip ties on the patio. By the weekend the scaffolding had come down just as it had gone up. Spirit Energy even have made it sunny since February…it’s now June, what a service, …even with a northeast facing roof I have only used 3KWh grid electricity, the rest has been solar and the battery. They were even happy to help me a month or so after installation (once my smart meter was installed), to suss out the tariffs and set my app to start selling back excess solar to the grid. I highly recommend Spirit Energy as company.
I strongly recommend Spirit energy - from my first contact they have been thoroughly professional and never too busy to answer my questions (some probably very silly). Originally they fitted solar panels & battery - all went in on one day! and I have subsequently had a second battery installed. I have referred then a number of times and they continue to deliver very high standard work - from communication & documentation to sweeping the gravel back off the patio after works
I discovered Spirit Energy through the very informative articles in their website Knowledge Bank, which I highly recommend. Sam was then incredibly helpful and knowledgeable in talking through the options and recommendations for our particular circumstances, even though it turned out that we are outside their installation range. Our 85 Year old father placed a large order for a solar panel and Powerwall system. Surveys were done and he placed an order. Unfortunately he didn't consult his family and when we realised that he had paid a large deposit we were worried as his mental and physical health is not good. He decided that he no longer wished to go ahead and I spoke to Mark at Spirit Energy and told him of the situation. He was very understanding and very quickly forwarded a cancellation form for my father to sign. He is refunding most of his deposit and I am extremely grateful for his help. I would recommend Spirit Energy for this customer service alone. Thank you
Excellent, very happy with the installation of Aiko panels with associated Enphase microinverters and a Tesla Powerwall 3. From the initial review and discussions with Nathan through to the survey by Justin and the installation by Ben, Jozef, Klem and Dan, managed by Peace, the work undertaken was of the expected high standard. Late customer changes were competently managed by Peace without affecting overall schedule. Some issues identified during commissioning were equally competently managed and resolved in a timely manner by Peace and Ryan. Another mention must go to the scaffolders. Blue Scaffolding, based in Reading, were efficient and courteous during the installation, paying attention to the restrictions defined during the survey. The subsequent removal of the scaffolding was completed on schedule. Such a difference to some other scaffolding companies we have experienced. Overall, we highly recommend Spirit Solar in terms of competitive pricing, attention to detail and work of a high quality.
My experience with Spirit Energy started with no response after my first enquiry which had promised an indicative cost for a solar + battery system. I enquired again and there was apparently no record of my initial request but Nathan provided good information on the size and cost of a scheme. Then he stopped responding to my questions. I called and he promised a further iteration of the scheme but this never came. My scheme will cost £30k + but its clear that they are not interested and they had decided to drop me. Shabby treatment in anyone's book. I have subsequently had a good experience with another provider.
Outstanding service from start to finish. I’m not one for doing reviews unless the service I receive is exceptional or diabolical, I’d rather spend my ‘review time’ contributing to Which? consumer association surveys. I found Spirit Energy from the Which? Trusted Trader website following an enquiry with a different supplier who told me my roof was not suitable because it faced NE. Spirits website is jam packed full of detailed information, very useful to me as this was my first foray into Solar/Battery for my home. After several phone calls to Tok I felt it was time to get serious, he visited my home and produced a couple of proposals. At no time did i feel in the least bit pressurised, however I needed to be sure how the system was to be installed so an on-site survey was carried out by Justin for us both to agree the cabling route from the solar PV to the Gateway & Battery. I had found other companies were only offering desktop surveys with the offer to agree location of equipment and cable runs on the day of installation which I did not feel I could accept. The roofing team had the 18 panels installed on my roof in little more than half a day with the electrics installed a couple of days later (about another ½ day) and the system commissioned on the same day. The guys were all very courteous and friendly with the standard of workmanship, as i had hoped - first rate. After commissioning a cosmetic issue became apparent with a few of the panels, Vishal worked with the manufacturer to resolve my concern and organised replacement of the panels in question before the scaffolding came down. I’m now really pleased with my system. Halfway into the month of March 2025 and i am now generating more than 95% of my power needs with my Solar PV system. I wanted to get this right first time so like me do your homework. For that you are going to need a company with a proven track record. Spirit Energy went above and beyond in helping me future proof my home.
Highly recommended family-run business for anyone within 2 hours of Reading who wants a quality solar/battery installation. The technical sales people are technical first and very knowledgeable. You will get advice and a system design that works for your needs and not a sales pitch. Unlike many national installers, Spirit employ in-house roofers and electricians, and everyone on the job was polite, cheerful, highly skilled, happy to answer any questions and were clean and tidy. The scaffolding sub-contractors they used for us were also excellent. Scaffolding was erected 2 days before the installation and removed the day after. The system is working brilliantly already. As I write this, it has been commissioned for over 24 hours and we haven't needed to pull a single watt from the grid - the power generation on a cloudy March day is impressive and we should easily make the savings outlined in their proposal. With a dedicated technical team for any post installation issues, plus a workmanship guarantee, I'm confident any problems we may have in the future will be dealt with quickly and effectively. I can't recommend Spirit highly enough and suggest you call them for a chat and advice if you've ever contemplated solar. They won't give you any hard sell but will give you no obligation advice that could well save you a lot of money!

The information and advice I received from Tok was really helpful and even after I decided to go with another installer Tok remained available for advice and support. If I expand my system I will definitely use Spirit Energy next time.
My Spirit Solar system was installed way back in 2010, Since then it has worked perfectly - no breakdowns (inverter and panels working 100% and zero maintenance required) and wonderful output numbers. Just had a PV and Home Battery installation made at my mother’s property in Hartley Wintney using Spirit Energy. Extremely impressed with the handling of this mini project from start to finish. Mark popped round to evaluate the property and was very professional and knowledgeable in his field, which in turn gave us the confidence to go ahead with the project using Spirit. After much research, and three companies quoting we selected Spirit Energy (not the lowest quote) because of the in-depth response, knowledge and advice. They also offered the products I wanted to buy. We needed an onsite survey due to the size of the system we wanted, this was then executed in delivery with updates over two days. Very nice installation team, no mess, friendly and efficient even though it was 30C outside. We took 10.5Kw system with a Tesla Power Wall, in fact just ordered another one now we have experienced the first one of course via Spirit Energy. I would recommend them, knowledgeable, not just trying to sell you PV but a solution at a reasonable price. Update Jan 2025 - Post Sale Service - Had an incident with our Tesla Gateway 2, the mains incoming overheated the switch within the Gateway and it caused it to arc, which caused considerable damage to the device. The point here is the issues started at 21:30 on a Monday, I contacted Spirit Energy as this was urgent, the main supply was now , Telsa batteries would run out off power by 18:00 on Tuesday. By 9am Tuesday AM I had a call from Spirit Energy, they had an engineer being diverted, he arrived by 11am, and Simon informed us what he was going to do, he had all the spare parts with him, he kept us informed all the way to the final resolution which including registering the new Gateway 2 with Tesla, checking my Tesla App was fully working was approx. 4 hours onsite in total. The point here is don't just look at the price of an install, but the E2E life / support of the solution. PS: 2nd technical issue, I had a similar experience with our 3 year old Solar when the Inverter went faulty again great service through Spirit Energy to get that replaced and reconfigured. Maybe these have been bad luck, but things break, just think what you do when they do fail.
I cannot say enough good things about SpiritEnergy Reading. From design, to installation, perfect, and well priced, how often does that happen in todays world? Today (12 months after installation) I had an issue that turned out to be a national grid problem, despite that the support was superb, helpful and even looked up who I needed to contact.
I had Spirit Solar install my solar panels in 2011 and have enjoyed a very good service from them then and since. Most recently they installed a new Inverter. The installer was very professional and patient regarding a connection problem that occurred in the installation. I should strongly recommend them.

I've been very impressed with Spirit Energy, from the start they were attentive and thorough. The Technical Sales guy, Tok knew his products, was careful to understand my requirements and patient as I learned what I really needed. We went through a few designs during which there was no sales pressure, just an honest quote at a good price. We had a few extras to get the aesthetics we wanted and these were accomodated without fuss. The technical survey was done by the install manager, Justin and agains, a friendly no nonsense chap with excellent technical knowledge taht helped tweak the final details. Tok then provided a final a price, whiach was competitive and we agreed. Installation was promised before Christmas and that's what happened, Natasha the project manager was very good, things were a little disjointed as weather and the holidays intervened, but we got regular emails telling us what was happening, what was due to happen and how the job was progressing overall. Weather and wind intervened a little but again, we were updated and so this didn't bother us. The install was completed on time and the scaffiolding removed promptly, all before Christmas as prmised - it was a trouble free and professional job all round. I can thoroughly reccommend Spirit Energy - it was really nice to experience a local company offering such good service. Thank you Spirit!
Selecting a reliable installer for your Solar Energy is not a simple task, it can be fraught with disaster for the unwary. Therefore finding one with the right credentials is so important which is why my wife and I opted for Spirit Solar, primarily on a recommendation from our next door neighbour. His panels have been installed by Spirit since 2014 and are still working faultlessly today. With this in mind, and with three other companies' estimates at hand we chose Spirit Solar. It must be said they were not the most expensive nor were they the least. . Our initial contact with Spirit Solar was with Sam who put together the package which was to be 16 solar panels on the roof together with the inverter and a Tesla Powerwall 3 battery in the garage. After accepting the more detailed estimate, Natasha, our allocated project manager, swung into action arranging a visit with the Technical Engineer Justin, where we agreed the final cable routes. Next came the scaffolding erection. Two days later the installation team arrived. Jo Ari, Klem. Matt positioned the roof panels, Battery, Tesla backup Gateway 2 and interconnecting cables. On completion of the final commissioning my wife and I had a short demonstration of the installed units and explanation of the controlling Tesla App on the mobile phone. All in all a very slick and efficient operation, moreover at a cost that was not overly expensive. Thank you so much Spirit Solar for a pleasant hassle free solar energy installation.
Overall disappointing. In some areas partial lack of competence (e.g. planning) and transparency is lacking at times. Requesting customer to make final decisions before in depth location visit is not acceptable. Occasional condescending behaviour is unhelpful.
They were just brilliant. From start to finish, I was informed and updated, and the install was performed when it was supposed to be. Scaffolding erected and removed promptly. Honestly, terrific all around - from the office staff to installers.
The ‘Spirit Energy’ team and in particular Justin, Ben, Don and Sam were very knowledgeable, responsive and professional. I obtained three quotes and although Spirit wasn’t the cheapest, it was the one company that gave me confidence. My choice and judgement of using Spirit Energy to install Tesla Powerwall 3 has proved correct. The system is up and running and even the sun is shining. Great experience working with them. Quote came in relatively quickly. I liked how they knew that I was looking for, so once they found more efficient panels, they were quick to update the quote and add them. They also adjusted to changes. One panel could not fit after all, so they were quick to adjust the installation.
I highly recommend Spirit Energy for their exceptional solar and battery installation services. All the members of their team we interacted with, from the pre-sales support to the panel installers and electricians were professional and knowledgeable. Spirit Energy went above and beyond and arranged additional scaffolding to allow chimney pointing before the installation of our solar panels. Their scaffolding subcontractors did an excellent job creating a safe platform for our builder and then reconfiguring to allow the solar panels to be fitted by the highly competent team who installed the panels. The electricians were super professional and managed to easily run the cables under our floor space thereby avoiding the need for re-decorating. Our battery was also installed, commissioned and demo-ed to us with the same knowledgable and professional approach as the rest of the installation. We have used Spirit Energy for a Ground Mounted Solar Panel System. We have been well supported and guided by them throughout the whole process : grid permission, planning permission, technical survey, installation and commissioning. This has been ably overseen by Natasha our project manager who has kept us up to date at every step. Every member of their team who has worked on site has been friendly, experienced, knowledgeable and efficient. We are delighted with the system and would thoroughly recommend this company.
I had tesla power wall and charger installed. Very good work, good installation and communication. I would recommend them. I have now had a second Power Wall installed which was quick and easy. Now can use cheap charging at night and be off grid all day! Saving a great deal of the day time electricity. Powerwall has been faultless and the app on the phone works really well .

Excellent experience working with Spirit Energy. Communication was great from enquiry to completion. Surveyors, installers, etc were all very professional and required minimal input from me. The system they recommended works fabulously. Overall I’m very satisfied with the whole experience. An opportunity for further improvement in the service could be cleanliness after the work has been done. They did some cleaning, but didn’t clear everything. I still found residues of brick and dirt from the roof that I had to clear myself, but not a deal breaker IMO.
Excellent from quote to survey and installation. We had our system installed late September. It reduced our electric demand immediately and since April our energy bills including standing charges for gas and electric have been negative. When I have any questions they respond immediately. Especially getting connected for the feed in tariff. Great service and very happy to recommend.
Having previously been through the process of deploying a PV system, I was much better informed when planning this project. The whole process of fitting PV solar panels with Spirit Energy, from the beginning to the completion, was superb! Starting with wise sales engineer Sam, superb project manager, Natasha, effective surveyor Justin, fast & careful scaffolders, hard working diligent roofers & finally The great, neat & precise electrical installers who tied up all ends & made the system work perfectly well ! And also customer support Ryan & Charles from accountancy - everyone had their part in successful delivery of this project. In time, without substitutes & in budget ! My PV panels are facing East & West (almost) and now in summer BOTH sides manage to produce equal amount of electricity even from ambient sky at 5.30am, thus before East side gets lit directly with sun! And this output at 5.30 am is sufficient to power my whole house needs at that time! So, East & West orientations work well too!
Recommended by neighbours, Spirit Energy did not disappoint. No hard sell, instead Spirit Energy deliver carefully considered and informed customer service from quote to survey to install. Spirit provide a personal point of contact for the project which was a nice touch. Installers were efficient, thoughtful and friendly. We were kept very well informed throughout the process, and our questions were answered with a high degree of detail and competence. So, this house is now cooking on solar! Given a few hours brightness in the day our daily electricity bill is zero or dramatically reduced. And perhaps we have done a small bit towards tackling climate change. Yay! Lastly, Spirit are local to Reading, so supporting a local business can only be good thing too! Go solar, go Spirit Energy :-)

This was my second Tesla Powerwall - so I already had the gateway. So key point is Spirit Energy were the only supplier who quoted for just the battery installation - others quoted for a full system again - clearly they understand and advised to wait before placing my order so I gained VAT exception. Next, the installation was neat and tidy and done by a professional and knowledgeable pair of technicians. We informative and supportive of my needs. They gave practical advice as to the best set up for my needs and updated the quote as required. The installation was completed efficiently and has been working well since. Spirit Energy A simply outstanding service! They were recommended to me by a person who had used them and what a great intro it was. An initial site survey was carried out with no commitment and once this was carried out realistic estimates were provided with realistic payback times detailed. The options of panels and Battery were discussed with no pressure sell - indeed I suggested more panels to be told they would add little benefit due to shading. Once agreed we were assigned a dedicated project Manager Peace Kokoricha who ensured everything went seamlessly , from scaffolding to commissioning. We are now realising savings (albeit small due to winter months as we were told) and looking forward to greater savings in the summer. The best bit? We are supplied by overhead power lines and Storm Henk caused power disruption. The Battery cut in seamlessly during the outage and bridged the gap until power was restored - perfect!. If you really are considering installing Solar Panels I strongly suggest you approach this company for an estimate and do consider the Battery - that's what makes the whole thing brilliant! I am very happy to share my experience of dealing with Spirit Energy. As a naturally cautious person, I spent a long time investigating solar energy and after an initial review I decided that I wanted to use a local company and I settled on a short list of 3 companies. Throughout the sales process Spirit, in particular Tok, proved to be knowledgeable, helpful and extremely responsive and as the price quoted was comparable to one other company, I chose Spirit for their service and knowledge. The surveyor, electricians and installation team were all fantastic and were genuinely a pleasure to deal with. I am very happy with the finished installation and the quality of the workmanship has been mentioned by several people who have visited to see my finished installation. A small hiccup with my app set up, meant I had call for some assistance, and although there was an initial delay in getting a response, when this was resolved, a next day visit from Justin (brilliant) cleared everything up in less than 10 minutes! I have today received my handover pack which will take time to read, however, the handover documentation is very thorough. A great company to deal with – highly recommended.
A good experience from beginning to end with Spirit. Tok and Sarah kept us well informed and the installation assessment and then the actual installation was smooth and quick. The PowerWall has worked well since it was commissioned, we don’t need to do anything but enjoy cheap electricity.

A very good timely service. From time of appraisal visit to installation, approx a month. Admittedly it was a basic 6 panel, no battery installation but it was all done and commissioned within half a day. The scaffolders put up and took down the scaffolding in a timely fashion too. It was up less than a week. The only issue was that they moved my water butt and disconnected the downpipe and didn't replace and reconnect it.
Very knowledgeable and experienced company. Helpful, good communication and generally on the ball. They are not the cheapest, but you get a first class job with full financial and guaranteed warranty protection. They are MCS accredited both for solar PV & Battery installations which is worth checking if you decide to go with a cheaper quote from another supplier. All in all, I would not hesitate to recommend them.
I dealt with Mark Golding. He is personable, reliable, well informed and knowledgeable about renewable energy. I initially order solar panels and an "Eddi" hot water device to connect into the solar energy. Mark found a good solution for placing the solar panel which worked well for my house (made slightly more difficult by our loft conversion). This has worked very well for me for over a year. I then ordered a Tesla battery which has just put in and is working well with our system. We had to wait a while for our solar, but we were kept informed, and it was a busy period as energy prices were rising rapidly. The battery (once there was stock from Tesla) happened very quickly indeed. The installers were efficient, knowledgeable and professional. I can wholeheartedly recommend Spirit Energy.

Tok did different models so I could choose the most cost effective option and explained everything clearly. Sarah who project managed the installation also explained step by step. A company with a good detailed knowledge of the equipment they install. and their web site offers many data sheets explaining pros & cons of varios inverter & battery systems etc. A good installation of GivEnergy inverter & battery solar system. Working well so far, since installation on 05/09/23 Looks good for the future.

We have had a solar PV and battery system designed and installed by Spirit Energy. From initial consultation with Mr Tok Charles to the feasibility assessment to the installation we found the whole team at Spirit Energy to be both professional and knowledgeable. We had our own ideas of what we wanted, but were guided by the team to make a reduction in the number of panels we had wanted to what we really needed. Knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Spirit have been knowledgeable, helpful and friendly throughout my solar journey. Spirit didn't just throw whatever they had lying around on the roof and run. They designed a system around my needs, and installed it all as quickly as they could. Parts delays and availability did slow things a little, but that's outside Spirit's control, and when they arose they did offer alternatives that might be available quicker. When it came to fitting the team sent were just as helpful and approachable as the sales team, working to solve problems that arose and discuss solutions as we went. They left everything working, and carefully explained to me how it all worked, and how to use it. There's nothing I could ask more of Spirit, any delays/problems have been outside of their control.

We've had an 8kW (flat) rooftop solar array, EV charger and battery (powerwall) installed recently: the PV and charger in December 2022, with the battery arriving April 2023. The communication with Spirit Energy has always been excellent, clear and responsive. The pre-installation side of things (surveys, paperwork etc.) all seemed thorough, which gave us confidence that we had selected a professional company. The installation work too was friendly, efficient, thorough - and tidy (for example with cabling carefully routed and hidden as best is possible, which was important to us). Most importantly, it all seems to be working well, with no problems so far. All-in-all, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Spirit Energy.
From start to finish Spirit Solar delivered an exceptional level of service in getting my full PV system in place. From providing sensible and occasionally challenging advice, they guided me to the most appropriate configuration to meet our needs. I am absolutely delighted with the solar, battery storage and EV charger installation project that was specified, planned and managed by the team at Spirit. Great communication and subject matter knowledge was demonstrated by everyone I dealt with. Also the hardware was sourced in super quick time, during a period of supply chains challenges.
This is the third system Spirit Energy has installed for me. Two are battery storage and one is a large 24.85kWp ground based PV and battery system, with a third battery system pending and a planned upgrade of the solar in the pipeline. These people are first class.
Filled in all the required information for a quote on inverter and battery installation, after taking the time to do that I had an automated response saying they received my quote request and that they'd get back to me. It's been over a month now and no quote has been made my Spirit Energy. This has been my personal experience.
Decent installation but have been found wanting when it comes to support with a system installed a few years back.
There is a long delay on Tesla batteries but Spirit Energy did the best job possible once the product was available. Worth the wait.
The guys from Spirit Energy installed the Tesla Powerwall 2 and got it up and running with no dramas. Very pleased with the results.
I originally called Spirit Energy on 01/02/22 for a new Solar PV, Battery and EV charger quote after being let down by a previous installer. Unfortunately my experience with them has been pretty poor. During the initial call, the sales rep seemed knowledgable and he assured me that whilst they were busy at the moment, he would come back to me with a quote the following week. It has now been 6 weeks and after calling in to chase again, I was initially told to re-submit my quote request online. After questioning why I had to do it again, the sales rep said someone had recognised my name and they would get back to me in a week or two. Another week or two after already waiting 6 weeks? For what is a very straightforward residential installation I find that pathetic. Whilst this review is obviously not based on the quality of Spirit's installation since they haven't even deigned to give me a quote, it does show their poor customer service and I am therefore no longer interested in using them. If you are looking for a reliable firm that actually does what it says it's going to do - keep looking.
A great team technically and smooth installation but let down by poor communications re order progress poor and project management. Despite these 'hiccups' I am very pleased with the system now that it is up and running.
Spirit Energy were recommended for my solar PV installation by many people in my area, and I've been very happy with their work. Everything was explained clearly throughout the process and all work completed on schedule. The sales team were extremely helpful from the start, but I didn't feel pushed into buying anything at any stage. In fact the opposite - I like to research and learn about things where I'm investing money, and Najey took the time out to call me to explain why in my case a simpler (and cheaper) specification would be more sensible than the more complex setup I had imagined. When it came to managing the project, Stephanie arranged everything very efficiently and all the work was carried out on time and to a high standard. If you are looking at options for solar PVs, battery storage, EV charging solutions etc, I would highly recommend giving Spirit Energy a call.
For a while we were thinking on getting solar panels with battery storage but we never set the step, it stayed a wish. Once we contacted Spirit Energy the dream became a project. The whole process was very smooth; from initial assessment to full completion. We were kept constantly up-to-date in regards with next steps, staff was very helpful to explain the new technology. As a retired IT consultant I was really impressed by the work of Spirit's project manager Stephanie Smith.
I cannot fault the service I received from this company. My fairly modest installation is generating a considerable amount of electricity.

Great service from Spirit Energy throughout my initial enquiry, through the site survey, and installation. All the work was completed quickly and without issue. My installation of 13 panels, inverters, and gateway connector to my mains supply was completed and fully completed within one day. The installation team made sure to clean up when they had finished, and explained how to operate the system. Really impressed with the knowledge of the team, and the recommendations that were made during my site survey made sure that I was not over ordering equipment that would not deliver any real benefit. As part of the Mayor of London/LB Newham Consortium our Solar Panel System was installed on 3rd June 2020 by Spirit Energy and has been working hard during this sunny summer generating our domestic electricity supply, heating hot water and exporting surplus electricity via a storage battery back to the grid. As a result our electricity bill for July was a mere 17p ( +standing charge £6.11) . Gas charges for July were 76p now our water is heated from solar energy! The installation by Spirit Energy went very smoothly inside x2 days, the electrician and fitters worked swiftly and efficiently observing safe distancing etc during this time of Covid19, they were very helpful friendly and polite at all times. A big recommendation for Spirit Energy on cost too for anybody thinking of installing Solar Panels! We look forward to many years of generating this green energy supply, helping reduce carbon emissions to save Planet Earth and saving money too!

Spirit replaced a solar inverter for us. They were professional and easy to deal with. The tech who came out did a nice tidy job and again, was professional, he turned up on time and took all the packaging etc away. We flat Spirt offer good value and it was great to find a local company to do the work.
It was a job efficiently done and went according to plan. The only niggles/complaints I would have is that the scaffolding remained up for what seemed like and a long time and I have had to chase for post installation information - which seems unfair in these serious times - but it did delay my application for Smart Export Guarantee
From initial contact, through planning the system and installation found Spirit to be helpful and competent. Installation delayed through shortage of chosen panels so Spirit sourced higher spec panels, at their expense, to ensure completion before FIT cut off. Installation completed on time with minimum disruption and no mess. Have no hesitation in recommending.
Spirit Energy designed and installed (onto our domestic roof) a good quality PV system at a competitive price. They always turned up when they said they would and all of the staff were friendly, helpful and knew what they were doing. We invested in two Tesla powerwalls, and Spirit Energy fitted them. They did a clean job (even if the scaffolders didn't!) and the system works amazingly well given the weather we've had since Sept 2017. I would definitely use them again.
I had my solar installation by this company and I can't rate them highly enough. The install was quick and efficient and as I was their first Power Wall 2 installation remarkably problem free. They still keep in touch with questions regarding how the system is running and have I got any problems. Lydia deserves a special mention as she is the main contact point to the company and she really try's hard to resolve any problems you might have. I wholeheartedly recommend them to any one is thinking of having a solar installation of any kind.

I have found Spirit Energy to be willing, helpful and professional. They made a very tidy installation of a Powerwall2 and have usefully advised on a number of other technology projects.
We had solar panels installed in 2011 but our supplier has since gone out of business. Recently, after a squirrel chewed into our loft we decided to get a vermin guard fitted to the panels to avoid any rodent damage to the wiring. We contacted Spirit Energy and they fitted a guard including arranging the scaffolding and also cleaning the panels. They also suggested doing an electrical check and found a problem with the original installation wiring which they have corrected. We found them very efficient, helpful and friendly and will certainly use them again if we need any further work or advice.
Spirit installed my Solar Panels in 2010 and my Tesla Powerwall in 2017. They did a very professional job both times as well as being competitively priced. I've already recommended them to my friends and wouldn't hesitate to do so again.
A professional company who fulfilled their contractual obligation, in our case due to the age of our building there were a number of unforeseen issues. These issues were professionally absorbed by the company who amended the initial pre agreed plans to ensure that the end result was in compliance with regulation and our requirements. The Spirit Energy team installed the LED lights for our commercial building, which comprised of lighting on 4 interior floors including and the external private car park area. The entire team is professional, friendly and subject matter experts in each of their fields. We took quotes from a number of competitors, but this company stood head and shoulders above rest in terms of knowledge and price. Highly recommend.
I had east and west Solar PV arrays and a Tesla Powerwall installed by Spirit Solar and I have to say that every part of the process was exceptional. I have a technical background and have managed Broadcast installation with complex power requirements so I asked many more questions than the average person would probably ask. In every case the responses form Spirt we fast, knowledgable and informative. I was also looking at other installers, however Spirts responses were significantly better. The instsallion team was prompt and courteous. They did an excellent job and kept us informed throughout the process. The project manager delivering our installation even helped with making sure that I had filled in the tortuous SSE Feed In Tarrif (FIT) form correctly. I would certainly recommend Spirit to my friends and family.
Second to none as supplier/installers of tailored or bespoke solar PV installations in my view. They were the only ones prepared to find the best solution for me including all my available roof spaces. They supplied the Tesla powerwall for me as well when I expressed an interest. I think mine was their first, and they worked with me to help me get the best out of that too. I am really happy with my system and what it does for me and I don't think I could have got better value for money.

Good service, good price. I had my domestic solar panels cleaned. It took a bit of time getting a date in the diary, and the first appointment was then cancelled a bit last minute due to an engineers van breaking down. Their communication around this was good, though, and the end product exactly what i wanted. Their price was the best of the ones i checked too
Spirit Solar installed our PV array about 4 years ago. They were selected on the basis of price and the very good impression made in the selection process. The installation was very well managed and was completed on time. One small problem after a year or so, as much my fault as anything else, was quickly resolved. A more serious problem last year was resolved with a minimum of inconvenience. Other post-sales contacts, not related to problems, have always been quickly handled. I am sure that we made the right decision and recommend Spirit Solar to anyone who is looking at PV now. We have already formally recommended two others who are also satisfied customers now.
