UK Alternative Energy have fitted my Solar PV system, Eddi and Zappi. From first contact through to installation and handover the process has been brilliant. I have used UK Alternative Energy Ltd, since we moved in to our new-build property for the servicing of our air source heat pump system and I can honestly say that they are an easy company to deal with and often go above and beyond, which now days is rare. The staff are so friendly and customer focussed. If an issue occurs they endeavour to assist as quickly as possible, even to the point of trying to assist via text or video call until they are able to attend. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anybody.

Great service from start to finish. They took care of all the necessary paperwork to gain approval from my local electricity supplier. The installation date was convenient, and the team arrived when promised. Due to the nature of my roof design, it took a second day to complete the installation, but I was kept fully in the loop. Unfortunately, again due to the roof design, the system did not work as advertised. I was not even aware there was an issue until the team turned up 2 days after installing the solar EV panels to reconfigure the wiring. Everything is now sorted. Overall I was very impressed with the whole process, from initial design review, installation and aftercare support. I would especially like to thank Ben, John and Bella for all their hard work. Much appreciated.

FANTASTIC. IF ONLY WE FOUND THEM EARLIER After an horrendous experience with another company ( not local ) we decided to try again but more cautiously. We asked more questions all of which were answered in a way we could grasp. We accepted the offer of a visit from Lee to talk through UK Alternative Energy’s role, costs, possible batteries and panel layouts. Lee followed up with emailed details regarding battery and layout options. There was no hard cell and no pressure to sign on the dotted line. We felt decisions were entirely ours to make. Having decided we went ahead with Lee’s hand on the tiller. Everything happened when we were told it would. Installation went smoothly and at the end of the installation day the system was fully functional. Our panels are spread over four different roofs and so was a little unusual but the installation team didn’t bat an eyelid, they were polite, took time to explain the system answering all our questions and they tidied up at the end of the day. Every email phone calls and text was answered. These days that’s a feat in its self. We were amazed at how fast everything happened, from the first contact to the finished installation. We had made a terrible mistake with the previous company in that we were going to be sold a system that wasn’t going to work for our house? that company had failed us miserably and not acknowledging so much of our roof is going to be in the shade. Yes, we ended up paying more, but we’ve got a system that is actually going to deliver on what it says. This company really knows their stuff. Before you think of going anywhere else, please give UK alternative energy a ring and if you know nothing about solar panels, but you know a lot you still will be served brilliantly by them. UK Alternative Energy recently fitted my new solar PV system, Tesla Powerwall and Zappi car charger. Brilliant advice from Lee their System Designer to spec the best system for our needs. Big thanks also to the engineers Ollie, Connor and Brendan who installed the solar panels in horrendous weather conditions. Most of the day (16 Nov. 2022) it was chucking it down with rain, freezing cold and getting very dark towards the end of the day. Nevertheless, they competed the installation perfectly. A few months later (24 Apr. 2023), UK A.E. fitted a Tesla Powerwall which is the icing on the cake for the system. Expert installation by Dave and John. Lee returned later to handover all the necessary documents, manuals, building regulations certificates, etc. Lee also briefed us how to get the best from the system, and left us in no doubt that we can call any time to get advice and support. Many thanks indeed to UK Alternative Energy for a really brilliant solar PV system and job very well done!

I was kept up to date with information on the installation and they have answered all my subsequent questions. Based on my experience I would definitely recommend them.

After contacting two different companies we decided to go with UK Alternative Energy partly because they are local but also their quotes were comprehensive and easy to understand. Very happy with our decision, having had the solar fitted first and seeing the quality of the work we called them back to quote for a heat pump. Although they were not the cheapest quote they got the job and again this proved to be a good decision, Bradley who fitted the system was very good supported by Sean their work is some of the neatest I’ve seen. They may be young but the pride in their work is easy to see and the finished job is better than expected. After supply issues we now have had the battery fitted to complete our new system again the work was completed in a clean and timely manner by David who’s attention to detail is very evident in the finished job. We are very happy with our system and the work that went into it and would recommend Uk Alternative Energy to anyone.

The installation of an ASHP was the second project by UKAE after installing solar PV four years ago. Same slick process from proposal to install to handover. A professional outfit to the bone.

I have had an Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) fitted and the whole experience from beginning to end has been amazing. New radiators fitted and care was taken to position them where I wanted and make them look right. ASHP was up and running and has performed brilliantly to keep my home warm and provided the hot water needed for us at a great reduced cost compared to my old LPG . A great company that takes care of it's customers and offers good pricing. Very knowledgeable in the alternative energy market and I am pleased to have had solar PV, EV car charger and Tesla Powerwall 2 from them.

We used Alternative Energy UK some years ago to supply and fit our solar panels. They did an outstanding job then, so it was logical to use them again when we were thinking about installing an air source heating system to replace our all electric heaters. Everyone we dealt with was friendly, approachable, professional and reliable. The guys who actually did the installation were clean, tidy, considerate, punctual and incredibly hard working. They kept the upheaval to a minimum and everything was completed in 4 days, right on schedule. They have been great to deal with and I would thoroughly recommend them. The system itself is great and for the first time in 20 years our house is nice and toasty throughout! Very happy indeed.

We have had an air source heat pump and full central heating system fitted. This proved to be a 5-star+ friendly and professional team. From advice, full disclosure, help with grants, choice of the right kit for the job, fast and clean installation, excellent problem solving and consultation, and more. A delight to deal with in an age of mediocrity. After two months we cannot yet comment on after-sales but expect it to be as good as the service we experienced during installation.

I fully recommend UK Alternative Energy, they have been very helpful and polite from my initial enquiry right through to the installation of my solar panels and Tesla Powerwall. Nothing was too much trouble, I had plenty of questions for Derrick, either by email or over the phone, which he always found the time to answer clearly, whether it was technical or on installation procedures. The quotation was very competitive, set out professionally and in an easy to understand manner, which was very reassuring. The installation was also professionally carried out by Dave and Tom and they were more than helpful throughout the day, keeping me informed and discussing any positional choices. It's a month now since the install and everything is running fine, I even received a courtesy call from Derrick last week which was nice. Overall the whole experience was pleasing and worry free, so a big thank you to Derrick and his team :-)

Panasonic TCap Air source heat pump Installation. I apologize for not submitting a review before but I really wanted to get a full months worth of energy figures which I now have. First however I would just like to say that from start to finish it has been a very positive experience with no pressure exerted and workmanship to the highest standard and so far a saving of nearly 50% on my electric usage.Which is much better than anticipated. Admittedly it's early days but I think it's realistic to expect excellent energy savings over the whole year.. I would wholeheartedly recommend UK Alternative Energy and will be contacting them soon for a PV installation the next stage of of my quest to do something about my carbon footprint and energy costs. Good company to deal with, came to visit property (many companies don't!), discussed the options. Came on date promised, installation was quick and efficient. Only slightly let down by scaffolders not removing the scaffold promptly but this is a common problem with scaffolder! System working well with no problems. Update - had a problem when the eddi hot water controller failed. UKAE came, identified the problem and organised the replacement quickly and with no problems coming when they said they would.

They've been great from the start, always happy to help, friendly and clearly know their field well.

From start to finish UK Alternative Energy have been spot on. Answered every email or phone call promptly. Thoughtfully answered every question we had and walked us through the process of having air source heating installed. The team that did the installation were also excellent. Very professional, knowledgeable and we cannot fault their workmanship. Afterwards they’ve walked us through the process of applying for a RHI payment from Ofgem which would’ve been tricky without UK Alternative’s guidance. All in all we are thrilled to bits with our new heating and with the service we received.

I would heartily recommend this company if you are looking for a good supplier for renewable energy installations. Their sales people are more engineering consultants than horrible pushy sales people. They really know their stuff and were VERY helpful. They guided me through every step of the process including getting the RHI rebate from the Government. The installation was also very smooth and well managed with frequent visits from the company to make sure the work was proceeding as planned. The electrical and plumbing work was all done to a high standard with very well mannered, competent technicians. Having the company relatively local to me is also a big plus. I really cannot fault them and I'd be happy to speak directly to any prospective customers.

UK alternative energy solutions provided a great service, from initial survey to prompt installation they were excellent.

This year we moved into a 3-bed semi-detached property (1950s build) off the gas grid and fitted with only a solid fuel back boiler and electric storage heaters. We clearly needed to upgrade to become more energy efficient and more sustainable but the challenge was - could we retrofit? Other suppliers quoted similar prices for a Thermaflow system and an oil fired boiler with tank (both close to £10k). After discounting ground sourced heat pump options on the basis of cost and land available, I began researching air sourced heat pumps. Warning: Don't dismiss this technology based on complaints posted to internet discussion forums back in the 2009-12 era... the technology has matured a lot since then. I requested a quote for an ASHP, new radiators and re-plumbing from UK Alternative Energy and one other supplier. UK Alternative Energy's quote came in under £10k but the other supplier was more than 50% more expensive! We wondered whether a cheaper price would sacrifice the quality of the pump and service provided - but this was definitely not the case. The assessment of our property was professional and the communication about various technicalities was very clear. We were even able to visit a recent, local installation of an ASHP to see one in action and speak with a recent customer not far away. All of this enabled us to make confident decisions. The most persuasive element in the whole equation was that once we qualified for RHI we would recoup more than 50% of the cost of installation over 7 years, guaranteed by the Government. In order to qualify for RHI payments, all we needed to do was to check our cavity wall insulation and top up insulation in our loft space. UK Alternative Energy were very informative and helpful with regard to assisting our RHI application and ensuring we passed eligibility checks. When we factored in no fuel costs and none of the fumes you would expect from an oil-based system, the decision was an easy one. We now have an unobtrusive ASHP unit in our garden occasionally purring away almost inaudibly when you are sat within a few metres and are considering switching to a green electricity provider so that the lower amount of energy we do now use can be a lot more environmentally friendly. Our RHI payments will amount to £583 per year for 7 years paid quarterly in arrears based on the current 7.63p/kWh tariff but this should soon be increased in line with Government plans to 10p/kWh. Note: RHI payments are based on a number of factors relating to your property including energy usage, but those above can act as a good ball park figures for a similar installation. Since the successful and professionally executed installation we have received our 5 year warranty and have enjoyed an excellent performance for both space heating and hot water through both cold spring days and warmer summer days. Operation is very straightforward with no need to know how to do anything other than program your own (wireless) thermostat. We are expecting our first RHI payment on 9th September. The myRHI website hosted by Ofgem is very easy to use and holds all the information you need to see. This was our biggest additional expense on buying our first house and it needed to be the right decision. We're greener, we're much better off and we're happy we made the right choice.

Good service brilliant air source system no more to say

There was a slight mix up in communication, mainly due to me losing my phone. It was sorted well and we were very happy with the service and the people who carried out the Ours was not a straightforward job - panels on three sides with scaffolding over a garage and conservatory and they were not phased by this. Derrick is very good at explaining details, and took time to fill in all the paperwork on completion. The whole team was very good. We wouldn't hesitate to recomend the company

Very friendly helpful service and a very clean tidy job that was done in a professional way . The pipe work was very neat and we are really pleased with the air source heat pump and our battery storage that we had installed.

UK Alternative energy installed our solar panel system within the day. The engineers installed the main components of the system within the loft space and have routed the cables very neatly along the internal walls. It's was good to see that the minimal amount of mess caused during the installation was cleaned up and furniture etc returned to their original locations. Good job 👍

We had a PV Sysyem fitted in Jan and we couldn't be happier about a subject seemingly so dull (yep...they're just Solar Panels!!). They took the time to make sure that we understood how the Feed-in-Tariff worked, the fitters were polite and their work was neat and tidy. We're now using a lot less Electricity than we used to and we received our first payment the other day for just under £300 for the juice that we've fed back in the system - happy days.

I have had both Solar and Photovoltaic panels installed by UK. Alternative Energy [at different times] and on both occasions, the work has been carried out quickly ,efficiently with the minimum of fuss , dirt and disturbance. Furthermore, the company principal is very knowledgeable, patient , polite, and not in the least bit pushy. A pleasure to do business with this company, and I would have no hesitation in recommending them.
