Reviews
4.5
Several people describe Heatfactors Ltd as friendly, responsive and knowledgeable, and say appointments were kept and callbacks were quick. One reviewer says Darren serviced a boiler thoroughly and checked the radiators, while another says he fixed underfloor heating while being polite and professional. One review says Scott and the team replaced a boiler and arranged extra work such as a shower replacement and boxing-in of the flue. One reviewer describes an engineer called Andrew explaining tests and keeping them informed while fixing a gas boiler, and another says a large, fairly complicated job was done very well. One reviewer reports a flat renovation that ran over three months instead of eight weeks, and says some joinery and plastering were poor, rubbish was left on the stairs and a shower leak later appeared because the wall was not waterproofed; there is also a single complaint that a complete mess was left and a separate complaint about an aggressive driver.
Did a terrible job left a complete mess
Friendly, responsive and accommodating team. Got the work needed to be done well, efficiently and for a reasonable price.
Large and fairly complicated job done very well. Guys are super responsive and knowledgable. It does not come cheap, be aware, but it is worth it.
The most professional team / company that I use for holiday lets in Edinburgh - the cottages are busy so not many opportunities for a space to get maintenance jobs done, and so it’s really important that appointment’s are kept otherwise rescheduling can take weeks - with Heat Factors we have never been let down once! It’s quite unusual for this level of service standard; just now we rang to check all was planned for today - prompt answer, prompt confirmation that our man was on his way - technically competent and professional in all aspects of the job. Highly recommended
Darren came out to do a boiler service. Arrived on time, nothing was too much hassle and did a thorough service and also checked radiators. Really pleased with work.
Darren assessed an issue today with water pressure, arrived promptly, very knowledgeable regarding the issue , explained everything really well would highly recommend
Great job fixing my underfloor heating by Darren. Polite, professional, quick and a good price. Highly recommended.
Attended when they said they would. Extremely professional. Sorted the heating system and gave really knowledgable honest on a gas fireplace. Can not recommend enough
Great service - prompt and friendly and reasonably priced.
Came when they said and serviced my oil fired heater at a reasonable price. Happy customer!
Professional and reliable local business. Highly recommended to many people already
Very pleased with the boiler replacement work done by Scott and the Heatfactors team. Scott coordinated additional pieces of work such as shower replacement and boxing-in of the flue, and we were very pleased with the work. Heatfactors kept us informed throughout, and did the job swiftly, and in-line with the timelines we were initially provided. We'd be very happy to use Heatfactors again!
I got Heatfactors contact details from the Worcester-Bosch website. Scott and Stewart were quick to respond, and to arrange a date and time to visit and look at my gas boiler. Andrew, the engineer, was excellent. He listened to what the problem was, provided me with a range of tests that he was going to do to find and isolate the problem, which he did rapidly. As Andrew fixed the fault, he kept me informed throughout the whole process, which was brilliant. I’d definitely use Heatfactors again, should the need ever arise. Thanks for such great service and for restoring my heating and hot water.
Good plumbing service
Heatfactors carried out a complete renovation of our flat 2 years ago; this involved the creation of an ensuite bathroom, rewiring, replastering, tiling, flooring, creation of a kitchen with structural work involved, etc., a big project... In terms of value for money, I feel that Heatfactors is a competitive company. They provided us with a fair estimate and did not charge extra money, so nothing to say on that. The communication side of the whole experience was also rather positive: they were easy to contact and responsive (particularly at the beginning). Said that, much more could have been done during the works; for instance, they could have informed us that they were running behind schedule, and updated us on the new timescale. The timescale of the work has been, in fact, a major issue. They told us that the renovation was going to take 8 weeks, and took over 3 months. After a good start, we became the last job on their list, especially for the joiner who carried out work in our property mainly after 6pm and weekends, for the great joy of our new neighbours! The delay caused us several problems, as we were living at the time in a shared flat with our newborn son, and had already given the notice. We had to pay an extra month of rent, and lived like sardines for 1 month as the new flatmate had to move in. I could say much more on the delay, but let's leave it at this... While the quality of the plumbing/ heating/ electricity-related works was ok, some of the joinery work was not great (especially in relation to the fitting of the kitchen and skirtings). The plastering was also rather poor: the contractor did not seem to care, he left us with many airline cracks which he did not bother to fix. These cracks became even more evident after the painting of the walls was completed (note that the painting was carried out by another company). With regards to the fitting of the kitchen, I would like to point out that the joiner, probably due to sheer laziness, did not put any flooring under the kitchen, leaving massive spaces. Due to this, we have now a mice problem, which is an expensive one to fix as we will have to remove part of the kitchen to close all gaps he left and put the flooring in place. Cleanliness during the works was also an issue. Heatfactors somewhat cleaned the flat, and a bit of the stairs once the job was completed. However, throughout the duration of the renovation (around 3 months) very little was done, and debris and dust from the site cluttered the stairwell. As you can imagine, I had numerous problems with my neighbours. I could not say much to them as they were right to complain. After the works were completed I had to apologise and pay for a professional cleaner. However, what prompted me to leave a review after 2 years is the leak we recently had under the shower which has caused some swelling in our bedroom floor. We called another contractor, recommended by a friend, to fix the problem. After an inspection of the shower cubicle, he noticed that several tiles were moving. He removed them and the wall behind was wet. The wall of the shower cubicle was not waterproofed before the tiling. Furthermore, the shower douche was not sealed with silicon - probably someone forgot - and we had water entering from there, a mess! We were lucky to notice the bump on our floor and were quick to intervene, preventing the damage from spreading to the neighbor's property. I informed Heatfactors about this. They said I should have contacted them instead of the other contractor - why would I? - so they could have assessed the damage. They also said that as someone else did the remedial job they will not take responsibility for the leak now. Finally, they argued that, as the job was carried out 2 years ago, the leak was likely to be caused by a small hole in grout/ silicone; of course, they did not comment on the fact that the shower douche was not sealed at all (I provided them with a pic).
We have used HeatFactors since they were first established. Their work is of excellent quality and perhaps equally important is that they always reply to any questions or requests for help quickly and honestly.
I have used Heatfactors in my previous and present properties. Between the two they have replaced the boilers, plumbed in kitchen and bathroom fittings and fitted radiator thermostats. Very satisfied.
Very satisfied. Good and quick response to request for help.
I have used Heatfactors for more than 10 years now both in the property I let and live in. Always very reliable, knowledgeable and good on price. I am happy to recommend them to both landlords and occupiers of property.
Terrible and aggressive driver. Completely unapologetic too. If they go about their work anything like their driving, I would be very wary.
