Hats off to Allied Trades for being one of the few companies in Lothian prepared to take on the more complex plumbing jobs, in our case an internal replacement of our Edinburgh tenement lead rising main water supply. Unfortunately, because of a series of unnecessary delays caused by the letting management agency used by one absent landlord, the acknowledged need to replace the mutual lead rising main turned into an emergency, with the flat opposite being flooded. Following the initial emergency inspection which resulted in the water supply being turned off, Allied Trades rearranged their entire work schedule to prioritise replacing the pipe and restoring our water supply as quickly as possible. They then continued over the next few days to restore the floors and furnishings that had to be lifted to reroute the pipe. The standard of the mutual lead rising main replacement and associated works were excellent, as was a previous bath replacement in my individual flat, with the engineers being friendly, hardworking and informative about the work being undertaken. I am only sorry that the complexities of managing a mutual repair among several tenement flat owners led to a delay in validating and paying for the work on a timescale that Allied might have reasonably expected – all our fault, not theirs’ – and I really hope this has not damaged our prospective future relationship. I concur with the other 5* reviews and can heartily recommend Allied Trades to bale one out of a problem, the only difficulty being that they are so busy because of the quality of their work.

They fixed my kitchen sink today and my upstairs ensuite. Last year, they fixed the overflow pipe that was dripping outside. They are great and were very good with my curious toddler as well. A good recommendation for anyone in the Midlothian area. Thanks so much for everything.

Yesterday 24th Januray we had our Air Source Heating service. The guy that came did a great job and told us what was needed. He also was the only person ever to look at the big box outside cleaned it and checked it over. Thankyou so much. We will use you again

On 18th October 2023 a gentleman from Allied came to my house to estimate for a new bathroom. Since then I have heard nothing from the Company. I telephoned 3 times and was told that this was due to holidays etc. I actually spoke to the gentleman on one occasion and he promised that he would phone me back in a few days. During the last phone call I was told it was due to the Christmas period. Surely it doesn’t take 3 months for an estimate.

Very helpful and kind. One of the few places open on a Sunday morning - Had an emergency call out and they were happy to accommodate for a competitive price.

We recently used Allied Trade to install some new radiators and to remove an old one. They were professional, friendly and I'd highly recommend. An unexpected issue with our boiler was quickly dealt with - the part was ordered and fitted early the next morning which we were so grateful for. Will definitely use this company again 👍🏻

A 50-50 experience. Disappointing, as came highly recommended. Fabulous advice from a plumber over the phone on one instance ...100% effort. Grateful. ...but a subsequent call-out for an estimate from another tradesman resulted in nothing, no phone call to explain either way... and I don't like following up unreliable tradespeople! I'd try one more time, tbh...

Fantastic en-suite refurb by the Allied team. They were helpful & responsive, even from before the job started. So clean and tidy while on the job, you wouldn't know they'd been there when they left each evening. Great attention to detail which I really appreciated, as did the tiler they sub-contracted. Been great everytime we've used them.

I called them out for a boiler repair on a the same fault twice. However on both occasions they failed to correctly diagnose the fault (the thought it was a burner fault, when it was an EPROM fault) ultimately not fixing the problem, leaving me without hot water and charging me twice for not fixing anything. The boiler was later scrapped and replaced by another company.

Called for an emergency on a Saturday morning (water from the ceilings). Arrived within 1 hour, 10 minutes job, problem fixed. 150£ (I was made aware of the call fee that covers up to 1 hour).

When my boiler stopped working on a Very cold day, Cameron very kindly talked me through the process over the phone and helped me fix the problem. I am now warm again and extremely grateful! I would not hesitate to recommend this company.

We live in an old house and have not had our heating serviced in a while. ATP &H were prompt ,efficient , courteous and tidy! The job took longer than expected but they explained in detail all that was needed and we felt confident that we were in good hands. Have the warm home we have not had in years.
