From call to fix, Ian explained the breakdown of costs and what he anticipated the fix to be. Radiance Solar installed 20 solar panels and a 10kWh battery for us in March / April 2026. The professionalism of Ian, Luke and Alex was outstanding throughout the process; Ian did a thorough survey, ensured the proposed installation was suitable for our needs, and drew up 2 slightly different specifications for us to choose from. Luke and Alex did the installation work, making steady progress in such a way that we could see they were taking care to make sure everything was exactly right. They also fitted mesh to stop birds from nesting under the panels; this was included in the price, although not all installers do this. I think it’s a sign of the care taken that mesh was included as a normal feature to help protect the investment for the long-term, rather than being considered as an ‘extra’. There was also good aftercare to ensure the system was commissioned and working correctly, everything was explained, and all documents were sent in good order. We are heavy electricity users and we recently got our 2nd EV, and air conditioning + fans have been on daily for hours due to the heatwave, and the solar panels are helping massively. The screenshot shows only a small net import since April compared to our production and use, and the export of course helps to offset the cost of the installation in addition to the cost saving from using less power from the grid, and I mean a LOT less. For context about us using a lot of electricity, I just did a quick Google search which told me the average UK home uses between 2.5 and 2.9 MWh per year, and the screenshot shows we’ve used 2.1 MWh in just a few months - and all of it a lot cheaper due to the solar panels. Choosing Radiance Solar was 100% the right decision and I strongly recommend Ian, Luke and Alex if you’re thinking of making the switch to solar.

I’m writing this review following the successful completion of a solar installation at my property, consisting of 11 panels and 20kWh of battery storage. My journey began a couple of months ago while researching my requirements. I reached out to Ian, who visited my property, carried out a thorough inspection and took the time to carefully understand our needs. Shortly afterwards, he provided a very detailed and comprehensive specification. We refined this over a couple of iterations, as I decided to include additional battery storage and a system to divert excess electricity to heat our water. Once we signed up, the process moved quickly. Scaffolding was installed and Ian’s team, Luke and Alex, spent several days on site preparing the roof and installing the system. Both were tidy, hardworking and highly knowledgeable throughout. Ian remained available at all times and was actively involved, even spending a day helping to lift and secure the panels on the roof. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Ian and his team for solar installations or any kind of electrical work. We were consulted throughout, particularly on placement and any aspects that could affect the aesthetics of the property. The end result is first-class. As I write this, we’re enjoying the benefits of solar for the first time and I can honestly say that both the installation and the level of energy generation have exceeded our expectations. We’ve found a contractor who genuinely cares about the outcome as much as we do, if not more! Thank you, Ian, Luke, and Alex!
