The bathroom in the property I purchased was not suitable for disability access! A step up to the cubicle but the step wasn't wide enough to put a whole foot on, so Brad and his team have built a large shower cubicle and tray, floor level so I don't need daughter, son, daughter--in-law and random neighbours to get me into and out of the shower. The tiling is exceptional, and the grab rails were placed with me sitting on the shower stool so that I was able to state where they were most needed. How wonderful to have a shower and wash my hair without help from all the assorted family and random passers-by!!!
I FOUND DAN VERY APPROCHABLE. HE CAME TO SEE ME AND THEN SEND ME A QUOTE, EXPLAINING EVERYTHING THEY WOULD DO. HIS BOYS ENTERED MY HOME AT 8am, WORKED NON-STOP AND FINISHED AT 2pm. INSTALLED WIRELESS THERMOSTAT WHICH IS COOL AND USEFUL. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. MAN FROM COLCHESTER
I can very happily recommend the excellent services of Thompson-Smith (Colchester) Ltd. Brad and his team catered specifically for our needs for our dream bathroom from the start of the project to the finish. Unforeseen complexities arose during the works due to the discovery of Asbestos, however, Brad quickly organised removal by a specialist and minimal time was lost. We are extremely happy with the result !
I can’t recommend Thompson-Smith enough - every aspect of the project was done to the highest standard. They have completely updated the downstairs of my house and the end result has exceeded all expectations I had when I first started planning. Brad and his team are brilliant - they are very reliable, communicate well and keep everywhere tidy as they go. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again in the future.
Brad and his team have been excellent on a number of occasions. Completing larger projects such as bathrooms and installing boilers. Quality of work has always been top tier. He has also been kind enough to pop over at short notice when I have had urgent issues. Pricing has always been very reasonable and such a friendly team. Would recommend their services to anyone.
We had the pleasure of having Brad and his team totally redo our dated bathroom. From having the floor up to redoing the pipes and sort out the squeaky floor, to plastering the walls and all the finishing touches. Such an experienced and professional company throughout the whole process, they were all very helpful, especially John who was on site most of the time throughout the project. Nothing was too much trouble. It's the little things like putting carpet protector down and even have someone clean the bathroom before it was handed over to us fully commissioned. Having Brad project manage the whole thing took the stress away from us, all we had to do was say where we wanted specific things put. This is the second time I have trusted Brad and the amazing team with a project on my home. It is also the second time I have been absolutely wowed by their work. They have been exceptionally accommodating to me and my family while having to reshuffle for the work to be done, as well as a good laugh and always trustworthy. Brad and his team refit a bathroom for me in a rental property after flooding from an upstairs neighbour, not only did they deal with everything to do with the refit to a fantastic standard they made the whole process as easy as possible, and since then they have done our yearly gas checks and any emergency works including a call our recently so our tenant had their hot water and heating fixed withing 12 hours of a phone call. Can't fault the service and will always recommend to friends and family
Fantastic service came out the same day as call Diagnosed the issue and Brad sent his team in .very polite trustworthy crew i was more than happy to leave the house key.when i returned from work heating working no mess as if they had never been. Brilliant company and very reasonably priced.
We phoned Brad on the cold Sunday when our boiler failed, which turned out to be beyond repair. With only a slight delay a new boiler was ordered an installed. I was impressed by Brads quick response and concern throughout the process and the professionalism of his team during the installation.

Brad and his team identified a potential carbon monoxide leak on our boiler. After consideration of the age of the boiler and costs to repair we decided to renew. Brad recommended a Vailant boiler, sourced and replaced within 4 days. Fantastic honest opinions and excellent workmanship. Tidy, efficient and highly recommended. Can’t recommend Brad enough. Had a new bathroom fitted and I am over the moon with it. Over the last four years Brad and his team have completely replaced my two bathrooms and kitchen. Before starting on each room I explained what I wanted and Brad sorted all the trades required to achieve the finish I wanted. He gave me suggested options on materials and retailers where I might choose products and materials, be this flooring, instant hot water taps, worktops or tiles. Where a wall had to come down or plumbing had to be moved his team sorted all the internal and external work. What I really liked was both Brad’s ability to listen to what I wanted and his preparedness to solve issues that arose. All three rooms have received multiple compliments from friends and family who have seen them. Brad runs a great team who understand the quality of workmanship customers expect. Both bathrooms and my kitchen function just as I had hoped. If you want a quality finish I highly recommend this building firm.
We had our old boiler removed from the boys bedroom cupboard and a new boiler installed in the loft a few years back. Brad and his team did a fantastic job and left the place clean and tidy after their work. Brad continues to service the boiler each year and we have also used Thompon-Smith for other plumbing needs that we have had over the years. Brad and his team ripped out and installed our downstairs toilet and I can highly recommend their services. They turned up on time, delivered what he said he would with great communication and great price. Highly recommend.
Brad come to us to help with a kitchen I was installing. Initially it was just to cap off, then re instate the new sink with a waste kit and new pipe work, however when I ripped the kitchen out a lot of the pipe work, the outside tap feed and waste pipes were in an awful state, I was tight on time but Brad sourced all the parts, and stayed until it was all renewed. He and his team was so polite, honest and accommodating it really saved us from a stressful situation.
