GreenStar Powerflushing, Gas, Plumbing and Heating

I booked Wellesley from Green Star to carry out a gas safety check, but after confirming three separate appointments, he let me down all three times. • Friday 3rd October: He confirmed he’d be round after 1 PM but cancelled on the day, saying “Sorry, my job is running over today, and I won’t be able to make it.” • Friday 10th October: I chased him several times with no reply until 17:14, when he finally messaged “Sorry, off work this am, recovering. Then had a carbon monoxide incident. Delays possible. ETA 30–40 mins if they are still free.” Once again, he didn’t arrive. • Saturday 11th October: He said “I think I may have missed them. I can be free tomorrow anytime if needed,” so we rearranged for after 3 PM — but he still didn’t show up. He said he would be round all three times and let me down all three times. Each visit was confirmed and then cancelled or ignored at the last minute, wasting my tenant’s time and mine. After three missed appointments and unreliable communication, I won’t be using Green Star again. And the response from the owner Response from the owner 2 hours ago I sincerely apologize for missing these appointments. What began as feeling unwell on Friday escalated into a complete medical collapse on Saturday that left me physically unable to move or communicate - a genuine emergency situation. However, I must clarify the contractual position: Our Terms & Conditions, which you agreed to when contracting our services, require clients to contact us directly before posting public reviews (Section 5.3) and to use our dispute resolution process (Section 8.1). Known Wesley since 2007, fitted and serviced boilers in many properties, no problem so far 18 years later, 5*

Wellesley is extremely knowledgeable and knows what he does. We recently had issues with our boiler and Wellesley sorted the it with his expertise and technical skills. 5 stars for his work and highly recommended!

Wellesley was great! Always responsive via text messages and never pushy. Very honest with his prices and a great worker. He replaced my dripping tap in only a few hours and checked the pipes, left the cabinet under the sink look neater than it was before. Will absolutely use his services again in the future.

One of the best plumbers I have met both in terms of competence and thoroughness. Wellesley is also very easy to deal which makes him the go-to plumber in Essex. I only wish I could take him everywhere!

5 star, highly recommend. Recently arranged Wellesley to come investigate a boiler issue and I was very happy with his services provided. He was very professional and has a wealth of knowledge / experience in the industry which clearly shows as an exceptional boiler engineer. He explained what was going on as he conducted checks and was very transparent / helpful to talk to about the issue. Will be booking him for future work and recommend him to anyone in the area!

Excellent 5 star work. Wellesley was very prompt in replying to my query and then coming to investigate the issue the following day. Extremely competent and highly knowledgeable, helpful and informative during the work covering electrical and plumbing issues with our hot water system and also very reasonable pricing. Wellesley was friendly and professional and I would not hesitate to recommend.

We have used Wesley’s services since 2020 for our restaurant He’s a very knowledgeable and straight talking engineer. Our Boiler broke down and he quickly identified the issue to a faulty switch. He Ordered the new part and got the costs for us Got our restaurant hot water for a busy Saturday service Would highly Recommend

Wes, thank you for coming out to have a look at what I thought was a leak, worked quick. Gave great advise and was very professional

Wellesley is very thorough and worked in great detail to diagnose the problem with my boiler, helped me source the parts and then came out late at night to fix everything and get it working and safety tested. He really knows his stuff and explains everything clearly, takes lots of photos so you feel confident in his work.

Wellesley was incredibly friendly and professional, and he did an outstanding job! He took the time to thoroughly explain the issue and successfully resolved it. I would highly recommend him to my friends and family!

I recently had the pleasure of working with Wesley for some plumbing issues in my home, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the service provided. Wesley has an incredible eye for detail, ensuring that every aspect of the job was meticulously handled. He was very clear and really informative throughout the entire process, explaining each step and making sure I understood what was being done. Wesley's friendly demeanor made the experience even better. He was approachable and easy to talk to, which made me feel comfortable asking questions. Most importantly, he made sure everything was running well before he left, giving me peace of mind that the job was done right. I highly recommend Wesley for any plumbing needs. His professionalism and dedication to quality work are truly commendable.

Very efficient and professional, Wesley took Lot of effort in replacing our heater. Highly recommended.

Just had Greenstar come over to fit some smoke detectors, and I couldn’t be happier with the job. He was professional, efficient, and clearly knows his trade inside out. From the moment he arrived, he worked quickly and neatly, making sure everything was installed safely and up to standard. No mess left behind, no hassle—just quality work done properly. If you need electrical or plumbing work sorted, this is the guy to call. Highly recommended!

I consider myself one of the last to leave negative reviews but once in a while you get let down to the extent you feel that you need to make others aware and let them decide for themselves. As a previous customer, we were contacted via email by Wellesley to remind us of our annual boiler inspection/service. After a brief exchange of messages, a date and time was set and I kept the whole day clear as I know his services can be protracted. Wellesley was due to attend at 09:30 and by 10:00 there was no show and therefore I sent him a text asking for an ETA........no reply. By 10:30 there was still no show and therefore I tried to call him but it went straight to voicemail requesting that the caller sends a text instead.........second text message sent........no response. Later that day with still no communication received, I sent Wellesley an email requesting that he contact me at his earliest. To date ( a week later ) I have had absolutely no contact from him! I merely present to you the facts and provide no personal opinion. Needless to say we shall not be utilising GreenStar Powerflushing Services again.

I recently experienced a significant water leak late on a Sunday night and contacted Wellesley for assistance. Despite the inconvenient timing, Wellesley responded promptly and arrived quickly to address the issue. His professionalism and expertise were evident as he efficiently repaired the leak, preventing potential damage to the store. I highly recommend Wellesley for any plumbing needs, especially in emergency situations.

Came out to get my broken heating going late on a Saturday night. Did an extremely thorough job checking through everything and got me up and running that night for a really good price, as well as explaining everything he was doing and making suggestions along the way. Clearly very passionate and knowledgeable about the work.

Wesley is amazing the best plumber I’ve ever come across. These are very rare these days. Super smart, trustworthy and reliable. Can’t recommend him enough

I have never heard of greestar powerflushing before but i googled the gas engineers with most positive reviews in my area and there it was. I had very bad experience prior to that with at least few engineers coming to my house failing to find a problem leaving us in a cold house but still charged me. When Mr Ford visited my house that cold evening first thing i noticed was that he was very knowledgeable. He explained things as he was doing it. He gave me a diagnosis and a full report. Only chrged a call out fee. But most of all he sorted the problem. I never had to call an Engineer for a very long time. We have been getting heating and hot water. I found Mr Ford to be the very few genuine, professional Engineers still operating in Colchester as a woman running a home I have been taken advantage by so called 'reputable gas companies' but the truth is they were not what they seem. If you are in Colchester please do not waste your time and money on these rip offs. Take your time and read about people's experiences. It saved me a lot with getting the best from Greenstar poweeflushing. I could not recommend the company more. I am such a happy customer!!!!! Mrs Prince, Mile End Colchester

Super fast and super patient.

Wesley has once again come up trumps, my boiler was overheating and failing but the issue has now been rectified, thanks to him.

came very quick sorted problem in no time

I called up about a leak on Wednesday afternoon and was able to get assistance within two hours. The engineer was very thorough, transparent and knowledgable on plumbing, quickly resolving my issue and highlighting other things I should be aware of. I would highly recommend him to anyone!

Transparent engineer with parts and labour. We have been using this service, for a new hot water cylinder, toilets, taps, guttering and my bath sealant hasn't moved or gone mouldy in 20 years. You can watch the work so you can understand the process. Will call again

Wellesley is recommended without hesitation! He attended quickly after our gas was capped due to a (false alarm) carbon monoxide alert. He was thorough, professional and a pleasure to deal with. Reasonable rates too. We have already booked him for some follow up work.

Wesley came to the rescue when I had an emergency water leak. He was able to resolve the leak very quickly . Wesley is knowledgeable and has great enthusiasm! I recommend him wholeheartedly.

Came home at 8pm on Friday night to find a huge bulge in the living room ceiling due to a leaking pipe. Wes was here in 30 minutes, and fixed it quickly with minimal hassle. A very knowledgeable and personable guy and I will have no hesitation in using him for further work in the future.

My gas cooker oven flame failure device stopped working and I contacted several heating engineers and only Wellesley from Greenstar would take on the task. Wellesley arrived the same day to diagnose the problem I ordered the part he found online when the part arrived Wellesley fitted the part now my 53cm wide gas cooker works again like new. Full gas safe check was also done on the cooker which gives piece of mind. The alternative was a new 55cm 50cm or 60cm wide cooker which would not be ideal. Wellesley is a very polite, efficient worker who enjoyed the challenge to fix the gas oven, very tidy working with no mess and the bill was very reasonable indeed. Very highly recommended.

Wesley is a very good and experienced plumber/boilerman. He has been looking after all our plumbing/heating needs. We cannot praise Wesley enough!

I recently found myself in need of a gas safe qualified engineer to repair a 15 year old Rangemaster gas cooker. Searching on line locally I found several cooker repairers but none who were prepared or able to work on gas cookers. Eventually Wellesley was recommended and I called him, his instant and very welcome answer was "I can do that" I have since discovered that Welesley is a very knowledgeable gas engineer, and he works in a professional and competant manner, he fixed our cooker in short order and I'm pleased to say that it is now as good as new. Wellesley is now at the top of my contact list as first point of call for any future repair needs. I recommend his services.

I called Wellesley at 7pm on a Friday night as I had no heating he was here within 20 minutes. He was very thorough & did not leave until my heating was back on and he knew it was definitely fixed. He explained everything to me in detail. Very reasonably priced too. I would definitely recommend.

I have been having plumbing and heating work done by Wesley now for several years. Initially for an emergency boiler replacement and since then Wesley has been gradually working through the house resolving issues for me. The quality of his work is excellent and always good value for money. Wesley is my 'go-to' person for all plumbing and heating engineering work. If you're interested he will always take the time to explain the work that he is doing. Nothing seems too challenging for Wesley - in fact he seems to relish the more challenging jobs and continually amazes me with his expertise. He is very well qualified and has a wealth of experience and on top of this is a really nice guy. My dogs love it when Wesley arrives - they are top fans. I know if I have an emergency that I can rely on Wesley to be there to fix it for me.

Wow ! Called them and they were here within 13 minutes ! Amazing job and very good value. Would highly recommend!!

Brilliant Service. Efficient, Competitive on price and work was completed to a very high standard.

Amazing service, nothing was too much for Wesley. Very professional and a credit to your company. Would definitely recommend 100%

Wellesley is an exceptional boiler engineer. He provides a proper professional service with all parts checked, cleaned, tested and fully reinstated to manufacturers specification. He is also courteous, knowledgeable, and able to clearly explain what he is doing as he does it. I can highly recommend him for boiler servicing and won't using anybody else going forward for plumbing issues.

Fixed toilet cistern... doesn't leak anymore, thank you.

Wesley came highly recommended via a Facebook post I made. He arrived on time, showed his ID and quickly discovered the fault with my boiler. He effected a quick fix and then provided a parts list for me to purchase (so no mark-up from his end). I fully trust him, his knowledge and ethics are superb. I'm very happy to recommend GreenStar!

5 star service to repair a massive leak coming through our ceiling! Came out on a Saturday to make safe and stop the flood then came back once part ordered even though he was fully booked! I would recommend to everyone! Thank you!

Fast, efficient and very knowledgeable

I've requested an emergency call out twice now and Wellesley has been very response and really helpful. He is very hard working and clearly loves his job. He takes the time to explain in an understandable way about what is wrong and what he needs to do to fix it. I trust him and recommend him to everyone

Wesley is a very knowledgeable, reliable and trustworthy plumber. We had a pipe leak and he was able to fix it and explain what the problem was all for a very reasonable price. There have been no problems since. I will definitely use him again A+++

Just had Wesley come to have a look at our shower and boiler ready for gas certificate and service. We are a family that live on showers and he has managed to work the shower for us temporarily until the landlord replaces it. He's extremely knowledgeable and fantastic at what he does and thinks outside the box. Was a pleasure to have in our home.

Thank you for your very prompt reply to our call for help when we found ourselves without hot water or central heating due to a boiler fault. Friendly, knowledgeable and above all, kind & helpful.

Done a top job serviced my back boiler and fireplace !! Very please with his work would recommend him to anyone looking for a decent Plumber....

Wellesley arrived in decent time and performed the diagnosis and repairs/replacements perfectly, on the first visit. Will be our first contact for any future jobs.

Used this company for multiple jobs, Wesley is super knowledgeable and always very helpful. Great service, sound advice. Highly recommend!

Excellent plumber - Came in odd hours to help on a short notice when I was siphoned off by another plumber - Really knowledgeable and genuine guy. Highly recommended

I found Wesley very knowledgeable and good at what he does. He went above and beyond to give me advice on safety and best practice and the work was completed quickly to expectations. Highly recommended.

Thank you so much, Very responsive and helpful. Stopped the leak and gave a very clear diagnosis with videos! Highly recommend!!

He is very professional and efficient at his work, he came to my house many times to ensure the work has been don properly. He is very kind person and I strongly recommend him ;)

Wellesley has done lots of work for us since 2014. He has amazing knowledge of the heating and plumbing world. He recently did a wiring fix on the airing cupboard, which was in a messy state. Fantastic job, and it worked very well after the fix. Super helpful and go-to man.

I am so grateful to find Wellesley in my hour of need and desperation. He was quick, responsive, affordable and fixed the issue in no time. I have now found an engineer who takes such pride and due-diligence in their work, he went above and beyond. His report after the problem had been solved was extremely thorough and saved me hours of work. I would never use another plumber going forward. 5 star service and extremely highly recommended. I wish every problem had a Wellesley to solve them! Thank you for everything

Wesley is always thorough and works to the highest standard

The single best tradesman I've ever used: On time, available for emergency stunningly reasonable prices. I've called Wellesley a couple of times now and I'll never use anyone else. Highly recommended doesn't even come close. Top notch.

Would highly recommend this plumber, worked hard to fix the issue and in good time.

Once you start using his service, there's no going back. I repeat, there's no one else I will choose other than Mr.Wellesley himself. He's done several different jobs for me and he's excellent in every single job. I've had him do the plumbing, heating, hobs and boilers and I couldn't be more happier. There's always a sense of relieve if he's coming over to fix things. He knows this stuff, he thinks 10 steps ahead and he has solutions to every possible problem he encounters. Oh did I mention, his advice could solve you problems that you could have in years to come thus saving you money in the long run.

Wellesley has done lots of work for us over the last eight years or so. He has an amazing knowledge of a lot more than the heating and plumbing world which he brings to the job. He recently did a water softener installation. Fantastic job, not only top work, but he came round at short notice to help us out. He also did all the relevant paperwork for registration purposes. Top notch and super helpful.

Recently had the pleasure in meeting Wesley, such a Lovely Guy, Knows his Stuff, Very knowledgeable. Explains everything you wish to know regarding the job, from start to finish. Helped me work out the Materials I’ll need for the job, that’s if you wish to source them yourself. He even worked out the size of Radiators needed, So so Helpful.. couldn’t recommend Wesley enough. Any time or day you can call on him and he’ll, make it his priority to get to you As Soon As he Possible can, same day if needed.. he’ll be my first port of call when ever I come across any Plumbing issues.

Exceptional level of service. we have had so many different plumbing and heating engineers out, and they were unable to give us a prompt breakdown of their works, with a decent price without overcharging. He exceptionally busy and has been our heating engineer since 2003. Attentive and answered all of our questions intelligently, and simply, without any fluff like we've experienced presently. We have been left with an intermi system for ages... Our current issue seems to be an overheated 3 port valve, and he electrically tested it and the cylinder and room thermostat, and checked the heat output of the boiler. He also mentioned that we have no pump over-run, and the pump keeps cutting out when the boiler gets too hot. He correctly diagnosed it by limiting the boiler to 59'C, tested the bath and basin outlet temperature on the taps for compliance, to ensure the aqualisa shower didn't get too hot. He used the cylinder thermostat to control the pump and used the programmer to act as a pump over-run in the interim, within the timer programmes. No other heating engineer figured this out. If I could give 11 ✨, I would. Amazing.

Leaking toilet 5 stars I called wez out to fix my leaking toilet one evening he gave me a time of arrival and he was on time he was polite and efficiant and done a great job and was clean and tidy and left the home in a nice condition I would always use this guy again

I recently moved to Colchester and I've been so lucky to have come across Wesley. He was able to test and repair the advanced air source heat pump system that is installed at my property, without any trouble or excuses. He also went to great detail explaining how it works and how to use it properly. He is also very responsive, knowledgeable and clearly has great passion for his work, which means its always reliable and done properly! Simply put - Wesley is a fantastic plumber, a needle in a haystack Would recommend to anyone and rate 10 starts if i could 👏

Absolutely useless service. Had a boiler installed by WW, took over 24 hours in my building to change a like for like boiler and still wasn’t done correctly. ended up having to get someone to sort out all the mistakes WW made. Eventually had to get someone to replace the boiler as turns out it was hooked up all wrong. Wouldn’t bother wasting your time or money on amateur work at best.

I have used Wesley a few times now with issues to do with our boiler and fixing the bathroom. We had issues with our boiler last night and he was very responsive and came to have a look at it , he managed to resolve the issue and advise on the things to buy in order for it not to happen again. Would definitely continue to use Wesley again in the future.

I am very happy with the service. I asked so many questions to understand the system and he explained everything in detail and with patience

Excellent service, serviced my boiler thoroughly (an older Aristan) and has given us invaluable advice, one time early in the morning @ 1am - my boiler decided to shut down one night, I messaged Wellesley for advice as it was -3 outside and he got back to us within 10 minutes and the problem was the sorted via messages. The next day he corresponded with us and we managed to realise what was going wrong and all was fixed.

Great service from Wesley. I had leaking taps quite late on a Sunday night. Wesley came over to fix my leak and get me through to the next day. He then returned the next day to complete the job with some extra parts. Also my extractor fan broke in the kitchen and he happily repaired that too. Great value and Great service.

Outstanding service by Wesley, his knowledge and service are by far the best around!

A brilliant trustworthy gas and plumbing engineer, does the job and does it well. Will come out any day any hour to sort you out, very open and informative 👍

Wesley is best plumber we’ve met, really helped us out in an emergency with reconfigured pipe work for building project we are doing. Great with problem solving with a real passion for what he does, we cannot recommend him more highly. Thank you Wesley from Ed & Aruna

Very nice man and was very helpful. Highly recommend🙌🏼

Wesley provided a great service. Was quick to call out after getting in touch. Highly recommend if you need plumbing work done!

I have been using Greenstar for just over 3 years now and can’t recommend them enough. Wellesley is very courteous, knowledgeable, friendly and a true professional. In the last 3 years he has attended 2 emergency call outs and provided a solution/fix. On a recent occasion he serviced the boiler, taking time to explain various aspects and giving me an honest feedback on the condition of the boiler. The service provided was at a reasonable fee. He isn’t one of those traders who charge extortionate prices for emergency call-outs. He has been completely transparent and took the pain to list all the parts needed for a future boiler and hot water cylinder replacement, getting me a quote for the same so that I can plan this for future.

An exceptional standard of customer care. Employed as an emergency call out for leaking toilet, which was fixed swiftly. He gave quick and true quotes for the work which was required. These didn’t vary. Meticulous in his execution, delivering constant images and videos giving me, the landlord, assurance throughout the time he was there. The aftercare was above standard, no waiting for invoices he emailed it within mins of completing work. Very efficient.

Wes has been our plumbing engineer (so much more than just a 'plumber') for five years. Wes works until the job is done. He takes huge pride in his work, scrupulously records all of his work and seems incapable of taking advantage of our total ignorance! He is the most decent and straightforward man I know. The fact that he is also a qualified electrician is great because he does not need to sit around waiting for lesser professional to start sucking his teeth and bemoaning whatever it is he is looking at.

Wesley fix at my house my broken gas valve on my boiler, and my commercial gas cooker, It is very efficient gas work A1

Absolutely brilliant and genuine person. Completely focused on customer service and satisfaction, would certainly recommend. Thanks for the sound advice to get things sorted..

Very pleased with the job that GreenStar Powerflushing has done absolute 1st class plumbing service Wellesley couldn’t have been more helpful and reliable he come when he said he would and he works to a very high standard. Definitely will use him again couldn’t recommend anyone better to do the job

He is very nice person and good quality

Excellent service from Wellesley. Very knowledgeable and honest about what needs doing. Reasonably priced.

Wesley attended to a leak that I had in my home. Thorough in his work and checked to make sure it was in working order before leaving. I recommended him to my neighbour.

Wesley was very thorough. Leak fixed and I had another problem that I had trouble with for some time, Wesley diagnosed the problem and told what part to order. Excellent stuff, fantastic value.

Reached out to Wellesley late Saturday night with a broken boiler and he was at my home problem diagnosed by half 10 Sunday morning. Very thorough and knowledgeable won't be going anywhere else from now on

Absolute 1st class plumbing service. Wellesley is extremely knowledgeable and works to a very clean high standard. I can't recommend him highly enough. If i could give 6 stars I would.

Wesley came round to identify the problem with our boiler and hot water. He’s extremely professional and knowledgeable so looking forward to hiring his services for all our plumbing needs.

Contacted via whatsapp, video sent, able to identify problem straight away. Came in, fixed the leak, managed to fix the sizing problem of the new part. Need to monitor the leak but as far as I can see, its a job well done

I’ve been using Wellesley for about 7 years now and once again he’s just done another brilliant job for me. He’s probably the most knowledgeable and capable engineer and his work is always immaculate. I would 100% recommend Wes and wouldn’t use anyone else.

My boiler system suddenly stopped working and i reached out to Wes who's been servicing my boiler for a while now. Though immediately unavailable, he responded promptly via text and offered to visit out of hours given we had no hot water. He attended the following day and was as efficient as always identified the cause of the exact cause of problem and returned/refunded costs for unused parts. Wes was professional, friendly and thorough, couldn't really ask for more.

Awesome! Great guy! Highly recommend! Really honest and knowledgeable, a very rare find in today's time. Once the jobs done you won't regret it 😉

5th visit tonight by Wesley. Brilliant as always. He’s the best!

Wellesley came out to repair my shower within half an hour of me calling him. He was very friendly, and prices were very reasonable. Would definitely recommend👍

[Edited]

My awkward bath with faulty taps and broken drain. The bath tabs changing process was not an easy job. Wellesley took the job and it was painful to seen him go under the tub to gain access, changed the old rusty pipes and fixed the drain. Hats off to him 👏 for fantastic job. Very reasonable pricing.

VERRY good really recommend

My boiler had an error code come up on Sunday and I had no heating or hot water. I waited until Monday and called Wellesley and he came out within 30mins. He was able to get the boiler back online by replacing a value which he ordered from a local supplier and gave me the number to pay for while he picked it up to keep things transparent. He said didn't like other tradesmen who charge you extra for the parts. He made sure the pipe the value attaches to was fully clean and had special tools to fix this and clean the threading on the value. Would definitely use him again as was so helpful coming out so quickly and getting it fixed (was surprised this close to Christmas to get anyone out). He also done a great job and offered some recommendations for getting and fitting a new boiler as mine quite old and could do with replacing. Overall great job and service, thanks Wellesley!

I'm no expert in plumbing and I'm so glad I called Welsey at Greenstar! He was quick to respond, provided so much insight and a number of options I could choose to solve our problem. I had a leaking hot water pipe alongside a leaking tap and Welsey went above and beyond to make sure our system was in a good place before he left. The previous plumber left an atrocious botch job on our pipe work!!! A week and a half later, we are so impressed with the difference his work made. Would highly recommend and hire again.

Wesley is a professional plumber, I had him come replace and reposition my radiator, he gave attention to details, took pictures for records as he worked through every step of the process. Explained every detail that I needed to understand, worked with precision and neatly carried out his job. He willingly helped with other areas not included in his invoice. I would recommend him any day.

Wesley installed two new water tanks in my loft as the previous ones had been extremely badly installed and there were no overflow pipes which meant water was getting into my brickwork and soffits. It was not an easy job and very time consuming but Wesley’s attention to detail and professionalism was second to none. He also used the best of materials and undertook his work in a clean and tidy manner at all times. I would not hesitate to recommend Wesley and willl certainly use him again should the need arise.o

Fantastic service - professional, thorough and full of care. Wes is very passionate about his job. Always takes lots of pictures so you can see how the process went and explains everything in great detail. Highly recommend!

Wonderful service, brilliant communication, and generally I highly recommend!

We found Wellesley on Wivenhoe forum. He is an absolute pleasure to deal with, both because he he is a very nice person, but more importantly because he knows his trade inside out. Wellesley takes Gas Safe Regulations very seriously, which is precisely what you want when you have your boiler serviced. Many boiler services are in and out, miss important safety checks, and fail to complete the relevant records. This is not to be taken lightly as poorly serviced boilers can lead to major problems which cost a lot of money to fix. Wellesley is very thorough. He checks everything and documents it photographically. He completes the boiler log correctly - our previous service had not done that. Moreover he makes a point of checking every gas appliance in your property - a legal requirement which many boiler engineers ignore. I cannot recommend Wellesley more highly; his is a little more expensive that the average service but well worth it, and better value for money considering the care and attention he provides.

Does not come when he says he will. Arrives 90-120 minutes late. Has to be chased. Takes ages to do any job. Previously at beginning of the year was in my house till nearly 3 am!! ( twice ).Appears oblivious he infringes peoples homes & privacy & because he does not seem to require sleep no one else needs to either. We gave him a second chance on another job in all he was in our home for nearly 9hours over 2 days!! AND job not done because he cannot sort it!! Has reduced me to tears with the stress of it. NEVER AGAIN!!

Very quick service, very nice and helpful. would definitely recommend.

Hi, we have used Wesley many times for lots of different aspects around the house, he is excellent, really professional, tidy and explains everything. Highest recommendation!

would not recommend !!

Wellesley was efficient and very good value for money. Always quick to respond via message and was professional throughout the whole process. Defiently reccomend!

Wesley is great find. He understands the interface between plumbing and gas boilers and is a pleasure to deal with as well. He is helpful, calm and most importantly reliable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him for any plumbing or gas problem.

We were very grateful to Wes for coming out to us on a Sunday afternoon to fix a leak. He arrived within half an hour of our call and then spent several hours fixing the problem - all for a reasonable price too.

Wellesley came to see us for an emergency gas leak and boiler issues we were having. The insurance company had sent 4 engineers - all of whom had failed to fix the issues. Wellesley visited us on the same day and worked until the job was done, fixing all the issues first time! He is very meticulous in his work and works by eliminating issues. We would highly recommend his expertise and service and will be using him as our regular engineer for all future jobs!

I might have been unlucky seeing all these positive reviews. Wellesley did not turn up for our boiler service. He eventually got in touch & said he was an hour away (2 hours later) - but still did not show! Very frustrating as I had taken a day off work. There was no explanation or apology. Very unreliable service.

Excellent communication, thoroughly methodical, totally committed to doing a good job. We are warm and comfortable thanks to Wellesley.

Wellesley really knows his stuff. He's very thorough and goes above and beyond expectations. He's also very caring - he turned up on a Saturday evening and stayed until late to fix my boiler to ensure that I had my heating restored on a cold wintry night. I would have no hesitation in calling him again.

Sadly there aren't 6 stars in the rating. Wellesley takes no shortcuts to success, great attention to detail and excellent advice. Cannot recommend harder, we will be returning costumers.

Wesley is a force of nature and lives for plumbing. Totally trustworthy and manically committed to sorting out your system! If he isn't there on time it's because he has been dealing with somebody else's emergency, or been working till the small hours to fix it. You can believe all the reviews!

Wellesley was really great. Helpful and ,knowledgeable. Prompt arrival

Brilliant job getting my heating to work. Talked me through his diagnosis and gave me confidence in what he was doing. Friendly and honest with his advice – decent man.

What a fantastic knowledgeable man sorted our problem would highly recommend. Keeping his number

Legend and hero. Worked till midnight to find our gas leak and repair making our home safe, liveable and warm. Super-knowledge and professionalism. And has identified how we can heat our home more efficiently. I’m off to buy a star to turn this five star review into a six.

Best plumber we have ever had. Hired based on Google reviews for a gas leak. Arrived at 8.30pm for our emergency and stayed until gone midnight to find the problem. Got everything working and fixed another minor leak we'd had for years that two other plumbers couldn't find. Amazing!

Absolutely exceeded every expectation, a great plumber who really knows his stuff and took the time to explain what he was doing and why. He arrived very quickly after my emergency call and didn’t rush or cut corners, I couldn’t have asked for a more thorough plumber. The leak was stopped within a short amount of time and problems with the boiler resolved. I would absolutely recommend this man! What a life saver!!! Thank you so much!

I had a leak from the loop valve to the boiler, Wesley was able to come to our help late in the evening and get it all sorted out, cleanly and effectively, and a at a reasonable price for such a call out too. Will be using him again to sort out further plumbing problems!

Knowledgable, professional & entertaining. Top of my list if anything goes wrong again

Called Wellesley, he showed up within hours on a Saturday to get the boiler diagnosed. We never get such a response from British Gas. Top engineer, fast response, informative and effective. Definitely recommend this company and Wellesley. Thanks a lot!!

Wesley is right man for right job. He is hard working and punctual with professional skills. I was looking a plumber for long time and he is the one. He turned out on time and did a job within few minutes, i am really impressed I will call him again and highly recommend to anyone

Had a boiler that gave up Sat night and needed urgent assistance. Wellesley was out within half and hour and had it sorted in no time. Polite, very knowledgeable, and tidy workmanship. I would definitely recommend him and will be asking him back to price some more work. Ian M Colchester.

Wellesley is just simply amazing...such a nice, honest guy and he certainly knows his stuff, we found him by chance and he’s a ‘forever plumber’, there doesn’t seem to be a thing he doesn’t know. 5*

Wesley helped me get my heating system up to standard, replacing radiators and valves and doing a power flush. He also installed proper connections for my dishwasher and washing machine and provided me with a garden tap. Throughout this he was very professional, clean and hard working, and clearly interested in doing a proper job. He'll stay as late as it takes to finish the job if needed and he'll listen to your concerns. When a sudden leak appeared on the ceiling on a Sunday Wesley came to the rescue again on the same day, working late to get it fixed. He is also very knowledgeable in other areas and very helpful, a top professional and great guy. I can only recommend him.

Great guy, great service.... He really loves his work and wants the job done correctly! I would recommend him to anyone

Bird trapped behind gas fire. Contacted Wellesley Fri afternoon and he arranged to come out Fri evening. Arrived at arranged time, took care in covering room with dust sheets and making a path for bird to get out. He explained everything as he went along, taking photos. Bird was freed with very little mess and fire replaced. Wellesley is very knowledgeable about his trade, considerate, polite and reasonable with his charges.

Fast and efficient service, phoned on a Sunday afternoon as neighbour reported gas leak, turned up less than 15 minutes later and checked my entire system. Really thorough.

Very professional, efficient and transparent. I could not recommend him enough. Great guy.

Wesley did a fantastic job of fitting a shower at short notice on a Saturday evening, for a very reasonable price. He is a committed, professional tradesman with excellent attention to detail and a friendly approach. Would highly recommend.

Wes has repaired a number of plumbing and heating faults for me, including work on a warm air/ gas heating system. He is always professional and diagnoses issues quickly.

Great guy, professional, honest, friendly. Explained everything which is wrong with the boiler clearly and answered all questions. Given us clear options of what to do next with no pressure. Genuine guy, great advice, clearly passionate about what he does. Would definately recommend.

Turned up. Fixed the problem with the leaking sump, with a friendly and honest attitude. Left me with a fixed boiler, at a fair price!

Fantastic service. Stayed on the job till it was finished. Really helpful and friendly

Fantastic service. He came out on a Friday evening knowing it was important to us, and was super professional, friendly, and did an impeccable job. It's great to see someone who takes real pride in their work and is committed to giving the best service possible. Will definitely use him again and recommend to others.

Called out on a friday night last moment to save me from a half flooded flat and scum everywhere, Wesley was polite and did a top quality proessional job i will be recomending/using again if the need arises.

Very knowledgable and quick to respond! Knew the problem and then did some root cause to identify the specific fault. Once the component arrived, was very quick to fix. Would definitely recommend and use again for further problems!

Great work!! And worked till early hours to fit me in. Thanks again

I used Wesley's service for the first time recently and was 100% satisfied. He is very knowledgeable and did a thorough job when he serviced my boiler. I have since then recommended him to my neighbours who were also happy with his work. Will definitely use again in the future.

Wesley, thank you for troubleshooting and repairing my leaking (flooding) boiler at 7pm on a Saturday night. You are evidently a first rate, honest, highly experienced central heating specialist. 6 stars out 5... Can't recommend you highly enough.

The Abbey Arms, Colchester would sincerely wish to thank Wesley for coming out to look at our heating system (that wasn't working) on a Sunday evening at 9pm. He obviously has a passion for his trade (taking photographs and videos as went), and talked us through everything he was doing to diagnose the fault, which he eventually found. He got the boiler up and running that evening, and replaced the necessary electronics the following day, all for an extremely modest price. We would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone. Thank you Wesley.

Brilliant job efficiently done! Can't praise Wes enough !

Fixed my old boiler really quickly and provided really useful advice on getting a new replacement.

This must be the most hardworking person we have ever met. He could not be more helpful. He kept us informed at every stage of the work on our plumbing system, enabling us to make choices on moving forward without being pressurised. He sorted out our problems quickly and got our system back up and running before we knew it. He will now be our first choice of plumber. If you require a knowledgeable, reliable and honest tradesman, give him a ring.

Wesley has done numerous jobs for myself over the past 10 year's. Very professional, honest, hard working guy. Nothing is too much trouble regardless of the time he'll get the job done the price quoted beforehand remained the same. Would highly recommend

Wesley is highly recomended, good customer service.

Wellesley was super quick to reply to a query about a non-functioning radiator. He came around the same evening and solved the problem immediately. Wellesley gave us excellent advice on the health of our system overall and we will be booking him to replace/add some other radiators and perform a Power Flush in the very near future.

Highly recommended this gentleman managed to get my hot water back on after me phoning him during the evening over the phone with step by step instructions. Would not hesitate to use in the future plus he's local which is a massive bonus. 5*****

Cannot recommend Wellesley highly enough. An expert problem solver! Faced with a non functioning boiler over Christmas I was worried about the normal scenarios when trying to find somebody to repair it: - People don't turn up - You are told various new parts or even an entire new system is needed and these always turn out to be very expensive - Even when parts are replaced, you don't really understanding what had caused them to fail for future prevention. The typical bad experience I was expecting is literally the opposite of the service we received from Wellesley. We called him in the morning to explain the problem and he came out, ordered, collected and fitted a new pump all on the same day. I am very glad to have found someone who is genuinely interested in the systems he works on and who understands and can explain the faults he finds. He is very reasonably priced and lets you pay for your parts directly, at cost, so you know you are not being overcharged for them. We had previously been told by another firm that we would need to pay £200 to replace an expansion vessel which had apparently sprung a slow leak, despite the system only being a few years old. Wellesley identified that the part in question was undamaged and that the leak was caused by another part having been incorrectly set up. He was able to fix both problems and he also showed us that a new expansion vessel only costs £30, rather than the £200 we had been quoted! This was a bonus fix he fitted in whilst he was replacing our burnt out pump. In the course of his visit he fixed our heating, gave us a wealth of useful information and even worked out the cause of the low water pressure which has been a problem since our house was built. I am so glad to have found somebody we can trust. I would thoroughly recommend him and he will be returning to us soon to fix our water pressure.

The service provided by Wesley when my boiler broke down on new years eve was second to none. I cannot recommend him highly enough and will certainly use him from now on!

Called in for a problem that another engineer couldn't fix. The job was done on time correctly and on budget. Fantastic service thank you for getting my heating fixed.

Can't praise Wesley high enough. Called out in an emergency. Clearly explained everything he did, clean, no mess no fuss. He will be top of our list of tradespeople to call in future.

Wesley came to our rescue without delay and went that extra mile for us. Very knowledgable and helpful. We are booking his services again, as soon as he is available and would definitely recommend him

Wesley attended a call at 10pm after one of my bath taps snapped. He was brilliant and so helpful. He was very knowledgable and determined to get the problem sorted for me which is exactly what I needed. Would certainly recommend him!!

Outstanding. Friendly, personable, talented engineer. Would recommend 10/10.

My review as a satisfied customer..... He is exceedingly, exceptionally, especially, tremendously, immensely, vastly, hugely knowledgeable about all things to do with heating, boilers and wiring controls.... please call him NOW

Always on call. Our boiler stopped working and we were given Wesleys details by our by our neighbour at midnight. We called him the next morning and was seen by 8.10am. Part ordered and the boiler repaired by the next morning. Expecting minus 4 and snow this weekend. Thank you Wesley.

We have used Wellesley at Greenstar three times now. Each time he has been friendly, efficient and explained and solved the problem promptly- and at a good price. Great service, Keith

Really prompt response. Excellent customer service. Highly informative and listens to what you are looking for as well as explaining all the different options. Thanks Wesley!

Excellent customer service. Quick response and extremely helpful and goes out of his way to solve the problem. Very efficient and courteous too.

Came out first thing this morning to fix and service a non working gas fire. Wellesley painstakingly took the fire apart, cleaned all the parts, tested and retested, refitted and Bob's your uncle, fire works perfectly and looked as good as new after cleaning and respraying the coals and surrounds. Fantastic professionalism and care, which is rare in this day and age. Recommended highly.

Top job from Wes - really helpful and knowledgeable and efficient

You can trust Greenstar to do all your gas\plumbing jobs with absolute confidence , Wesley is a very skilled tradesman and truly cares about workmanship , he installed our boiler and has just given it it's yearly service and he even fixed our shower and checked our radiator valves while he was here so thanks Greenstar another job well done .

1st class service. Wesley was totally thorough with the service. Checked and calibrated everything. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again.

Very professional and really cares about his work. Looked a long time for an honest hard working guy and I finally found one. Came out to help late Friday afternoon so really appreciated it. Couldn't ask for a better person. He is also very honest about pricing and takes great pride in his work.

Popped over for a consultation as I was having issues with my boiler. He gave me some fantastic information and really helped me when I wasn't sure what to do. Would definitely recommend!

Can highly recommend Wesley had a huge problem with my fridge and he came out even out of hours to fix for me. Also good prices

Visited us very quickly and diagnosed the problem effortlessly

Great service! Used Greenstar for a few times now. Always friendly and helpful.

Wesley was friendly and informative and was happy to explain all what he was doing in checking our boiler system. He also fixed a simply aged old problem where two previous plumbers had not. He ensures he takes pictures of every step to clarify what works were undertaken. He also supplies the pictures to you for your own piece of mind. True professional and we wish him well. Les & Karen

Wellesley was exceedingly thorough and dedicated much of his time to finding a fault with our system. Thank you

A very thorough and professional job. Takes a great deal of care to get the best results.

Wesley was brilliant.....really helped us out in an emergency which meant extending his working day until 9pm. He was so thorough and talked us through all that he was doing. On top of all that at a very reasonable cost. We would thoroughly recommend him. Thank you again Wesley.

Had no hot water and rads upstairs not working Very methodical and efficient work done by a friendly guy who really enjoys his work If you can't get him right away - it's. Is he's busy - because he knows what he's doing Will recommend to others !

Be aware Wellesley is very unreliable, tuns up hours late. He finds problems that have previously not existed. His pricing is not clear and up front. Because he charges by the hour the job takes 4 times as long as it should. He also hovers over you whilst getting you to make a positive review.

One of the best plumber anybody could ever have ..very thorough, reliable, punctual with friendly nature.. excellent service, strongly recommend him ..x

Wellesley came promptly after calling to fix two taps. Very calm, logical and thorough. Would definitely recommend.

Awesome! What more to say :-)

Amazing work replaced my electric cooker to gas hob, very happy with work, very happy, highly recommended gas engineer!

Wellesley is a very thorough and conscientious guy. His attention to detail is very high and he gives you best practice advice and/or what is affordable in your budget or situation. We used him for adjusting pipes that were not put in but the original tradesman properly. We also got him back to finish commissioning our boiler (which the last guy didn't do and wasn't interested in coming back to do!) and to do a power flush on our system. Will be using him again.

It is rare to find a tradesperson as passionate, hard-working and committed as Wesley. We have used him now for a variety of plumbing jobs around our home and cannot recommend him more highly.

I LOOKED FOR 3 COMPANIES AND FINALLY THIS ONE FIXED MY BOILER!!

I have just watched Wesley carry out the most in depth and thorough Gas Safety check and service of my fathers boiler. So now I have no concerns about this ageing boiler still being used. Highly recommended 10/10 S.H. of Colchester.

Wellesey's the man. Had a blocked drain and he came round and promptly fixed it. Very pleased with the service.

Wesley was incredibly helpful & really went the extra mile to help us with a number of problems we have. He came highly recommended by my work colleague, now I know why! If you need plumbing work, I really don't think it's possible to get better service than we received from Wesley.

Hot water is working again, job was done quickly and he explained everything he was doing very clearly.
