Highly recommend Neil. Our boiler wouldnt turn on after we switched the main house power on and off for a bit of renovation. Went to bed feeling dread. Found Neil on google and the reviews are quite accurate. I texted him in the morning, got a response and quick replies. Came to our house within the hour. Super friendly, and was very informative. Was thoughrough with his process of trying to find the cause of the issue, talked through everything, and ended up figuring out that we accidently temporarily disconnected the boiler from the power circuit when we disconnected a plug socket from upstairs. Would never have guessed it was something so silly and simple. He connected it back up, checked all was well, and even gave the boiler a "partial" servicing after i brought up our issues with the pressure being too high. Also provided lots of useful advice. He did not charge a fortune so it didnt feel like our mistake cost us too much.
Neil was superb, went above and beyond. Sorted the issue. Called back straight away and was round the next day. What more could you ask. Very honest and polite.
We had been suffering with our heating for over a year but after a visit from Neil everything is just perfect now. We had many faults but Neil has fixed everything. His number will always be on my phone for future problems. 100% recommended.
I found Neil after a Google search, as I needed my gas hob disconnecting and radiator removed for a new kitchen. After booking him in, my heating started to play up and I found a small leak on my very old hot water cylinder, so I asked Neil to look at this too. Neil was brilliant, heating fixed, cylinder replaced and kitchen ready for refit. All work was completed to the highest standard and Neil took the time to explain everything he did. Nick was great. He tried to help me by text when I contacted him late one evening about my broken boiler. He was very engaged. Ended up needing a replacement part which he sourced and returned to fit on the same day. I would highly recommend Nick. Professional, friendly and at a reasonable price.
First time using Neil's services, and we had a very positive experience. Text Neil in the morning about our radiator issues, he replied very promptly, and came later that day (with a phone call beforehand to let me know). Communication was excellent. Neil was very thorough, checked all the radiators around the house, as well as the boiler. Gave us some general advice as well. Would highly recommend!
Neil is a top worker. We have just moved into a new place to find out we had a leaky boiler which was added stress we didnt need. We had problems with our boiler. Found Neil Hammond ( Plumbing and Heating Engineer) on Google and read the reviews and thought he sounded like the right chap. He arrived, we found him extremely pleasant and well mannered and did an excellent job. In addition checking the flue and gas levels. He is a very clean worker and charged a very reasonable price. We have already recommended him to friends.
Absolutely brilliant, in need of an engineer I found Neil's details online and saw that he had very good reviews, so I phoned with an enquiry about my boiler pressure fault and was delighted when Neil said he would call the next day, he kept to his word and kept me updated as to arrival time. Neil is very friendly and professional and worked extremely hard to resolve a couple of issues with my boiler, whilst also keeping the cost down for me and avoiding the need to replace parts. He explained everything in detail and checked the safety and settings of my system. Neil is an extremely honest, trustworthy engineer and thoroughly deserves all his fantastic reviews. Neil has kindly put up with me several times now for various plumbing bits around my home. He has always managed to find time to fit me in round his other jobs and if he can’t do it that week will always let me know and keep in touch. He is always friendly and reliable and tbh I wouldn’t look to use anybody else at this point as the quality of his work speaks for itself.
Excellent service from Neil. As the other reviews state, he is a true professional who is highly knowledgeable, skilled and an all round really nice honest gentleman. I would highly recommend him to anyone. I called about a faulty diverter valve which was affecting my hot water and he came the next day to fit a replacement. Whilst he was here he also diagnosed and replaced my hot water tank thermostat (which had been previously missed by a different plumber). It is clear he takes great pride in his work. Neil took the time to explain and run through several tests on my system, ensuring that the issue had been fully resolved before he left. Thank you for the excellent service.

Couldn't be more impressed with N Hammond, from our initial phone call, he was advising potential faults and what can be done, I asked if he could attend my property to my suprise he offered to come immediately in-between jobs. Unfortunately no one was in, but even late into this evening he was still available to help me and my tennant over the phone and actually resolve my issue. 10/10 for knowledge 10/10 for customer service Would highly recommend
Not long moved here and came home to find no heating or hot water, called Neil on a Saturday morning and he came round shortly afterwards. Fixed my boiler really quickly and also told me how my system works, set all my timers up and showed me how to fix myself if it happened again. Great service, I was very pleased.

Our boiler locked out and refused to start. Found Neil's number online and he agreed to come by lunch time to take a look. The price he quoted seemed fair and transparent. Found him to be very methodical and detailed while diagnosing the problem. He is also very knowledgeable as he was explaining the problem with our boiler and also the fix he was doing. While he was there he also agreed to look into our radiators at no extra charge. I highly recommend him and would definitely be calling him in the future.

First visit great but then never returned to replace the pipe work he removed from the back of my house. Despite numerous texts and messages left on this website it was one excuse after another so no I couldn't recommend as not professional and unreliable.
When we received the keys to our new home our boiler was sadly showing a fault. We contacted Neil on the first working day after New Year, hoping that he would be able to visit sometime that week. Neil was able to attend, and fix the boiler the very same day. He checked the entire system over for us, making adjustments to the radiators, and suggested further work that may be necessary in future. We will definitely be calling him for our annual service, and if any problems arise in future.
100% recommended. Neil replaced our old clapped out Main 24HE boiler and replaced it with an Ideal Logic Max. He carried out this job in a highly professional, efficient manner and with abundant enthusiasm. I have used Neil over the years and can not fault the service provided. In December my heating system developed a number of faults, all of which Neil rectified. He ordered the parts, kept me updated and always kept an appointment, texting beforehand. Based on my experiences, over many years, I have no problem recommending him to anyone.

We had a massive problem with a leaking boiler. Phoned Neil and explained the situation and he arranged a time to call in the next day. He called ahead to confirm he was on his way. He quickly diagnosed the two faults and explained he needed to fetch a new part. On his return, he set to work and replaced the faulty part which solved the leak. He then identified yet another problem which he also rectified. Neil clearly explained what he was doing as he went along which was very helpful. Great job done! Would very happily recommend.

I had a radiator that wasn't heating up and Neil came out within a few days and fixed it. He also replaced a vessel that I was unaware had broken. I'd called a few gas/heating engineer companies in Colchester as we had no hot water and none of them picked up but luckily Neil did. He diagnosed everything over the phone so when he did come by, he knew exactly what needed fixing and so he can try to get any parts in advance. Once a time/date is agreed he confirms this via text/WhatsApp, then on the day he messages to confirm you still need the work doing and also before he makes his way to you so you know exactly where you stand at every step. It was great chatting to Neil while he got it all back up and running and he noted down any other issues we should keep an eye on as we haven't had the boiler serviced as often as we should, although I think that'll be changing after this. Overall, just a really positive experience with a professional, top marks all around.

Very honest and reliable person. He manage to locate the problem of my boiler for not having hot water. He change the flow turbine & hall sensor despite the difficulty removing it because of the lime scale buildup inside. Many thanks. Highly recommended!!!

Neil was very prompt to come and fix the fault on our boiler, I messaged him in the evening and he was round the following day. He even managed to guess what was needed to fix it and brought it with him. Always very friendly and quick.

Our boiler suddenly stopped working on Boxing Day morning. Neil responded promptly to my text message and came out the next morning which was a Bank Holiday to look at the boiler. He diagnosed the fault quickly and was very knowledgeable. The place he needed to get the spare part from wasn’t open as it was a Bank holiday, however he obtained the part the following morning and came and fitted it and had the boiler up and running again within a couple of hours. He was very helpful and friendly, and kept us informed of what was going on at every stage. I would certainly recommend him to others and use him again.
After being without heat and hot water over Christmas and finding most local firms were off until January, not only did Neil message us back on a Bank Holiday, but came out to us ASAP. It is rare to find someone so reliable and honest.

I contacted Neil because we’d had no heating or hot water for a couple of days and couldn’t reach my usual engineer. He didn’t answer his phone, but messaged me back straight away. He was absolutely brilliant, he replaced my faulty controller (I’d just bought smart rad thermostats and wireless controller) which, to be honest, stunned me with his willingness to go above and beyond. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Neil again and you should too. A rare find!
I can highly recommend Neil. I had a problem with my boiler flue which could have resulted in potentially dangerous fumes being released into my home. The issue was fixed promptly and with no fuss. I couldn't be more pleased with all the work that Neil has recently completed in this flat - he has installed a new, very efficient and user friendly shower, eliminated a noisy toilet flush, and got a radiator to work that hasn't worked for years. He is very friendly, professional has encyclopedic knowledge of his area of expertise, nothing is too much trouble. Also, after 4pm today (Saturday), he diagnosed the problem over the phone and talked me through fixing it. I can’t recommend him highly enough.

He identified the problem promptly, patiently explained the solution, a new pump required, which he acquired and fitted for us within an hour. Waking up with one day left before my wife is going into hospital to give birth to our baby we had the nightmare of no hot water and no heating After hopelessly hitting the reset button on the boiler to no avail I began trying to find someone to come fix it before the baby arrives. We lucked out finding Neil, he was with us in a couple of hours and was hard at work fault finding our system, he promptly diagnosed the issue and had us up and running same day. Me and my wife can now relax and concentrate on tomorrow's arrival. I would highly recommend Neil and we would definitely use him again in!!
Neil came to my assistance at very short notice to look at my boiler which was life expired. He replaced my boiler to a much more economical and quite one and I even got a great guarantee with it. He was even going to box the pipework in but I informed him to leave it as I was installing a cupboard. Whilst he was doing the boiler I also asked him to change and upgrade my immersion tank and a shower mixer tap. Nothing was too much troube for him. He was extremely friendly polite, knowledgeable and professional. He answered all my questions and needs and recommended various options and left it to my choice, not at all pushy. His workmanship is excellent and I will definitely be using him for all plumbing and heating works. He works very clean and tidy and I would highly recommend him to others.

We noticed a small gas leak early on a Sunday morning...looked for a local engineer and saw that Neil had a string of excellent reviews. I can see why. Absolutely fantastic, came out after tarbin heating told us we needed a new boiler, Neil looked at it and fixed it within 30 mins, fully explained what went wrong and got the part, my mums going through chemotherapy so when our heating went down Neil definitely saved the day. Neil has installed the Hive for me. It was done efficiently. I called a few local gas engineers before ordering the Hive and Neil seemed the best person for the job as he came across as he knew what he was talking about over the phone. After checking his google reviews, I did not hesitate to book him for the job. I ended up asking him to fix another issue with one of the showers and he did that promptly as well. I can definitely recommend Neil.

I called Neil after asking for local recommendations. Our heating system was playing up. I had one radiator not warming up and the heating was coming on when it was switched off. Neil came round quickly to assess the problem. One thing I particularly liked and appreciated; was how Neil explained all of the issues and how he was going to fix it. He went through it so I could understand. He has been back twice and done exactly as he said. He has resolved the issues and had been very reasonable price wise. All in all I couldn't recommend Neil more highly and a very friendly, knowledgeable and professional engineer. An addition to the original review; Neil came back and serviced the boiler. Now all is working amazingly well. In fact I can't have the heating on as it works too well 🔥🔥

Boiler at work had broken leaving us with no heating or hot water. Even though it was a Sunday Neil came out within an hour. We needed a part which he couldn’t get until the following day. 8am the following day he phoned to say he’s on his way. All fixed by 8.30. I would definitely recommend in fact I am going to use him next time I need a plumber. Thank you X He got the job done and didn’t charge us stupid money like some of the other companies wanted to.
Got given Neil’s number through recommendation as had no hot water or heating. Called Sunday afternoon and Neil came straight out Monday morning,even texting me that he was in his way! Neil explained the problem and solved it very quickly. I found Neil very friendly and efficient. Even my annoying dogs didn’t bother him 🙈 Neil also text in the evening to check everything was still ok! Fantastic service and definitely will use again and recommend to anyone!

Impressive! Boiler persistently locking out and chose this company at random. I left a voicemail at 1pm. Neil Hammond returned my call at 1:25pm and 2 hours later he arrived at the house. He quickly set to analysing a complex range of potential causes and after a run to get spare parts, the system was up and running by 5:30pm. His attention to detail was impressive - he checked everything. We are left with a boiler and heating system operating far more efficiently than they have been for a long time. No hesitation in recommending this company and they are certainly now our 'go-to' heating engineers in the future.

Sunday 27/09/20 My elderley mothers boiler was not working she has dementia and is recovering from abroken hip i went on the internet and found N Hamond gas plumbing rang them at 09.20 to see if it was possible to repair today he text straight back and said he was on another job and would go staight after problem was found to be the pump he didnt have one so went away to locate then came and back and fiited it all working fine in my experience it is not often in these days you get that kind of service excellent and very reasonable would definitely recommend

Neil came and fitted a new Boiler for us in June, he had to re-route the flue and fit a remote thermostat. I was very impressed with all of his work, he kept the disruption to a minimum, cleaned up after himself and was especially good at explaining how everything worked. We recently had an issue with the remote connection between the boiler and the thermostat and Neil was able to assist in resolving the problem at very short notice. I have no hesitation in recommending his work for any gas or plumbing job and will definately be using him in the future.
Had a radiator moved back in January this year and was so impressed with his work then, that i didnt hesitate in calling him again to a get a replacement boiler installed. Neil is very professional, knowledgeable and promt as well as reasonable in price. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Very happy with our new combi boiler and radiator. We had multiple things go wrong with our heating and hot water, originally we had another plumber come round who said it would be a nightmare to fix and they wouldn't even know where to start & could cost lots of money🤔 But then we found an expert Heating Engineer (what a difference) as soon as I contacted Neil he practically knew what was wrong and how to fix by just chatting over the phone, always arrived promptly on time and was kept informed every step of the way, all the jobs were completed to a very high standard, if I could leave more then 5 stars I would, highly recommend!

I have had a problem with my Baxi boiler for some time. Other engineers were unable to solve the problem. Neil had an immediate grasp of the situation and was determined to fix it.
