From first contact with Amy in the office at Allen's plumbing and heating , I knew this company was the right choice. The professional manner in which my enquiry was handled by Amy was excellent. Clive, the owner, turned up when Amy said he would, he was a pleasure to speak to and was prompt in not only the assessment of the works to be carried out, but I had three quotes from him for the work with 3 different price points depending on the boiler brand, all in less than 24 hours. Allen's were by far the best at this point compared to other's who'd not returned with quotes or not even bothered to turn up. When it came to have the work carried out, which was a new boiler install replacing my old and tired boiler, along with various new radiators fitted with new TRV's plus a larger towel rail and a hive heating controller, Dave and Robbie were again brilliant. They were on time, polite and well presented and before they even brought a tape measure into my house they'd laid floor protection in all areas where work would be carried out. They had their work cut out, my house is a 50's ex council house with old pipework added to older pipework and the brickwork is fairly tough to drill too, but they came in and cracked on and worked really well as a team and independently in what they were doing, the boiler and rads were drained, mess free, and outside within a few hours where they already had arranged for a local scrap collector remove them. We even sat in my garden and had lunch and a chat, nice lads! New boiler and rads all physically fitted by close of day1. Day two, again on time, got cracking and by 1pm the systemwas plumbed in and was up running for a flush through with cleaner before a drain and fresh water flush. An issue with wiring and voltages nearly put a halt to the work, but a nearby colleague and fault fixing guru, Dave H, arrived and between them, the two Dave's sorted it in about 15 mins. The hive wireless hub was easy for me to install, 1x power lead and an ethernet cable and it was pretty much ready and now I have control of my heating and hot water from the wireless thermostat and my phone. Some extra work was required to deal with the new boiler's condensation drain and a new gas pipe was required as my old pipework couldn't give the boiler the gas flow it needed, this was all handled professionally and without hickup. I also added two extra TRV's to the original job, again handled without issue as these lads are true professionals. I was originally quoted 2.5 days for the whole job, and they finished it in 2 days even with the additional pipework and add-ons. Boiler fitted wmis a worcester and its pretty quiet, unlike my old potterton. Dave registered it for me as part of what Allen's do, and informed me that they will contact me before its due its service to arrange and book them in for it service if I want to use them, which of course I will. To describe this company and their guys in one word, FANTASTIC!! I highly recommend them.
Wow what can I say! I have used these guys for years and they have never failed. Super customer service and response. It's lovely to have decent communications from a Trader! Seems like a rare thing these days! Air Con installed and running lovely! Supply them with Tea and Coffee and you can't go wrong!! They are tidy and great attention to detail! Clive, Dave and Andrew are absolute legends! Highly Recommend!
Clive Allen runs a professional and informed business. We have used him for a good number of years for several maintenance requirements and now for 3 split aircon units. Estimates were produced promptly (unlike competitors who did not seem to be that bothered). The estimates were fixed and firm for the required work and supplies. Michelle, on the admin side, was keen to ensure that I was informed throughout the process. This was especially important as aircon systems are in short and eratic supply along with the materials to install them. On the day, the fitting team, Clive and Dave, ran a tight programme There were in all four of them plus an electrician. Everyone had a role and all cleaned up as they went. I have found Allen's to do what they say, be generous with advice, and above all, the result is sound and stays that way. They are not the cheapest, but then I am not paying again to have the work re-done in a couple of years. I recomend them.
I cannot praise Allen’s highly enough. Amy and Michelle in the office were very efficient and helpful and Robbie and Andrew did a great job of installing our new shower, which was everything we asked for. Such a friendly, efficient team and we didn’t have to endure the long wait for work to start that you get with so many plumbers.

It was a brilliant service all round from Allen's. The office staff were very helpful and efficient when I first approached them for a quote. Amy and the team at Allen's Plumbing & Heating were fantastic from start to finish. The office communication was brilliant throughout. Amy kept me updated at every stage, from the initial quote right through to the final invoice, and nothing was ever too much trouble. Clive came out for the quotation visit and was really helpful, talking me through the options available at the time. David and Clive then carried out the installation of three air conditioning units, working carefully around the house (bringing dust sheets, being mindful of parking, and fitting in around my schedule). The units have completely solved the problem of working from home in the heat, and it's a brilliant bonus that they also provide heating for winter. The free annual service in return for a successful referral of business is an added bonus, which, given the exceptional experience I'll be talking about, will be appreciated. Very effective service. The lady in the office replied swiftly to e- mails and phone calls. The engineers who came to fit the air conditioning were very thorough and left the place nice and tidy. When I had a issue with the air conditioning the engineer came over very promptly to sort it out.

Allens Plumbing are just so easy to deal with. We have them each year to service our gas boiler and they are always professional. The office staff are lovely and the engineers equally so. I have recently had air conditioning units installed in our three bedrooms and I could not recommend Clive and his team highly enough. Not only was the installation 100% spot on but the attention to detail, the pure professionalism and care they gave to the works was very reassuring and comforting. Reasonable prices, excellent communication, impeccable work ethic are just some of the feedback notes I can make regarding my personal experience. What a very professional company to deal with.Had a problem with our boiler losing water, spoke to Amy who managed to get an appointment for me for the following day at 8am, Dave turned up who was very polite and professional, diagnosed what was wrong, explained what had happened and why,had the part available and fixed the issue, made sure everything was working ok.phoned the office and spoke to michelle who just like Amy was very polite, professional and friendly.From my experience I would definitely use this company again and would recommend them.
I have experienced excellent service from this company, both in terms of administrative contact with the office and in the remedial work carried out by engineers Robbie & Jamie following a water leakage. This required the complete dismantling of the shower, identification of the issue (more comprehensively than other plumbers who had been engaged previously), putting it right and reassembling the shower unit. Professional, hard-working and personable service of a high quality, completed within 2.5 days. Thoroughly recommended. I will definitely return to Allen's for their services when needed in the future.
Absolute 1st Class service from start to finish. Reservation and quotation all came very quickly from the office. Booking date was good, and they worked around my taking time off of work. Dave & Adam spent the day at our house installing replacement boiler, pump, radiators and other bits that I cannot remember. Very clean & tidy working team. Sorry that you had to keep stepping over the 'sleeping' Rottie, she was just watching what you were up to LOL. All jokes aside. Allen’s Plumbing & Heating are absolutely brilliant at what they do. The Engineers are all professional and competent and very friendly and they have helped me out in emergencies by sending someone immediately in the case of a leak when I couldn’t turn my water off. They respond rapidly to emails as that’s my only means of communication. Amy and the admin team are so helpful. Fantastic company to deal with - when our boiler broke I contacted Amy and was very impressed from the start. Amy managed to juggle their diary so that an engineer attended on the same day. A new boiler was required and was fitted a few days later. Very professional and honest - a great family run business.

I'm honestly shocked by the lack of common sense shown by one of the Allen's vans earlier today. Despite clearly posted tide warnings and an obvious buildup of water, the driver chose to barrel straight through the high tide on the Mersea Strood causeway — ultimately breaking down, most likely due to a flooded engine, and causing a complete standstill even after the tide had lowered. This reckless decision created a backlog of traffic and delayed dozens of people who were just trying to get on or off the island safely. Not only is it dangerous to drive through tidewater like that, but it also shows complete disregard for locals, other drivers, and basic road safety. If this is how Allen's train their drivers or allow them to behave, I’d seriously reconsider using their services. Do better.
Allen's Plumbing and Heating Services were excellent to deal with throughout the process of pricing and installing my boiler. Emails were responded to promptly and I was given the option of two prices to compare with different boiler systems which Clive explained to me clearly. They were efficient when installing the boiler and left everything tidy afterwards. Would definitely recommend.

Clive Allen gave us a 1st-class 5-star service from start to finish. His visit to assess our requirements and discuss options was useful and clear, the quote arrived promptly and covered everything we had agreed. Amy in the office was happy to answer all our questions and adjust the order to our amendments. The installation of our new boiler and associated parts was carried out in a fully professional manner, with carpet protectors and dustsheets laid before any work began and all areas kept clean and tidy during and after the work. The fitters told us what was happening at each stage, checking we understood and were happy with progress. After completion on day 2, Clive took the time to demonstrate and explain the features of the boiler and controls, and his manner has been friendly, cheerful and helpful throughout.

Great experience from initial quote to completion. Tommy and Daniel did an excellent job upgrading all our radiators and replacing old hot water cylinder. Job completed on time , everything left clean and tidy. Good communication throughout with admin team, no hesitation in recommending for all plumbing and heating services.

Fitted last week and used a few times due to the hot weather. Made such a difference with south facing room. Temperature is much more bearable and noticeable difference, compared to rest of house. Great communication to arrange and fitting was painless and professional.

I have used the services of Allen and Clark for many years both at my previous house and where I am now. Won't ever use another company again. I did once and what a mistake that was ! Clive and the team had to physically remove floor boards to find the leak that brought down my kitchen ceiling due to the poor workmanship of the previous contractor! It took 5 years to find a company that could replace our oil heating system without affecting a listed building. Allen and Clarke were excellent, solved a system no one else could work out how to replace (as it was a mess). We would certainly recommend Allen & Clarke after having them install and commission a new Central Heating Boiler for us. Used Allen & Clarke to replace our aging hot water heater with a newer, larger model. Service was excellent from the initial visit to diagnose the problem. The engineer who carried out the work was friendly, professional and was incredibly thorough in protecting all surfaces and ensuring he left no mess. Will definitely use Allen & Clarke for future plumbing and heating work!

Allen & Clarke recently installed a new boiler for me plus replaced a radiator, the whole process from first contact to completing the job went very smoothly, the actual job was carried out to a very high standard, dust sheets & stair protection being used, left everything neat & tidy afterwards, thanks to my neighbour for the recommendation, excellent.

He was very professional friendly and helpful. Fully serviced and checked the safety of the boiler, checked all radiators and explained our thermostat and the best way to use it. Highly recommended.

Very disappointed. We paid £100 for a tiny piece of blockage in our utility pipe and our biggest problem was the toilet cistern in our cloakroom which wasn't touched. £100 for a 20 minute job. Not impressed.
My existing electric shower broke and decided to go with a much simpler direct water fed shower as I had a new pressurised hot water boiler. Dan was extremely prompt in arriving and made sure that everything was exactly how it should be. He also arranged a tiler to tidy up the tiles that had to be removed with the old shower unit and his choice of tiler was spot on and did a superb job. I've used this company for a few years (to service my hot water boiler) and will keep returning to them. If only all trade services were as professional as this company. Thank youi

I would highly recommend Allen & Clarke, who provided a fantastic service when my 10-year-old combi boiler suddenly started leaking and needed replacing. The office team was brilliant, providing information and responding promptly to any queries I had. The whole process, from initial breakdown/diagnosis appointment to completion, went very smoothly and they somehow managed to fit me in despite a very busy schedule. Appointments were confirmed by email and the engineers arrived within the allocated time, keeping mess and disruption to an absolute minimum. It felt very reassuring to deal with such a professional and knowledgeable team of engineers, who took the time to answer my questions, discuss pipe upgrade and explain what they were doing. Once the new boiler had been installed Daniel showed me how to set the programmer and top up boiler pressure if needed. Highly recommend this company and will definitely be using them again in the future.
I have known Clive Allen for years and he has installed new heating in my old house which was excellent. I have since moved to another part of the country and called Clive up about a broken boiler and advice. I thought i would have to replace it but Clive gave me advice which has saved me £1000's and my current boiler is working perfectlyu from his advice. Keep up the good caring work guys!

We have just had a complete new Gas central heating system installed by Clive and (young) Dan and we are over the moon with the results. I applaud their hard work, communication and professional work. Each day they left the house as they found it which was a tall order considering the amount of work that needed to be completed!! The house was turned upside down with minimal disruption, I continued to work at home throughout the 6 days. 110% recommended Clive and his team.
These were employed to update our shower room. New heated floor and updated fittings. They also completely retiled and refitted the bathroom and both rooms now looking just wonderful! A great team and a real joy to have them working for us, always cleaning up each day and totally trustworthy, we were able to just leave them to get on with the job. On phoning Allen & Clarke within a few days Clive arrived to do a survey and quote for a new boiler, tank and two radiators. We were immediately impressed as he listened to what we wanted and made recommendations that would improve the heating. He was also very conscious of my husband’s disability and reliability on a stair lift. He reassured us that there would be no problems at all. The 16th November came and Clive and Dan arrived promptly and immediately layered a covering on the stairs, hall and landing. Dust cloths down they commenced work with no fuss or bother. By the end of the first day boiler, tank and additional piping were installed. The second day the radiators, wiring for timers etc. They left with an assurance that all the registration work would be carried out for us and if we had a problem just give them a ring. Considering this work was carried out during lockdown, we always felt very safe and they both carried out the work in a Covid secure way. We would recommend Allen & Clarke to anyone who is seeking to have any heating work carried out, no matter how large or small. IF WE COULD GIVE SIX STARS, WE WOULD.
Dan arrived on time, as previously notified and was very professional throughout. He explained all the checks he had carried out and rectified an error the previous installer had made from a previous company. Customer service was excellent from start to finish and I will not hesitate to use Allen & Clarke again in the future.
The engineer was personable, professional and went above and beyond what I had asked, picking up other issues that I was not aware of. All carpet was covered and protected and all rubbish taken away. Very impressed. I would recommend Allen & Clarke to friends and family.
Sent an email via their website with my requirements and can't comment on their work as I never heard back from them! Sent on 25th Aug I am looking for a quote to install a new shower tray, screen, wetwall boards, sink/cabinet, towel rail, extractor with light. I have put a shopping list together and the room has been completely stripped. Not sure if it needs new plaster boards but will need some ceiling and skimming. I am waiting for another quote to come in and thought it would be a good idea to get a couple more. We are ready sooner rather than later as only have a hand held mixer in the main bathroom . Very responsive company in a very difficult national situation with Covid19 lockdown placing extra strain on the project. They undertook the project with full Covid19 PPE in place and we felt completely safe.The team managed the whole en-suite project from start to finish, including all sub-contract trades. We didn't even know there were tradesmen in the house on some days as they were so quiet and we were self isolating away from the team. We trusted them enough not to keep interfering with the work. A good job well done.

I have known Clive Allen for a while now as he services my boiler every year for me. However I discovered a fault with my boiler yesterday morning which left me with no heating or hot water. I phoned Allen & Clarke Plumbing Ltd and managed to speak to Clive over the phone. Clive explained and took me step by step over the phone telling me what to do and within a matter of minutes had my boiler up and running again and heat to all my radiators......It was such a great relief!! When our boiler broke down recently, one of his engineers came a day later and two days later our new boiler was fitted within a day! Wonderful service from start to finish. Initial enquiry via FB messenger was answered almost immediately on a Saturday morning. Were able to attend Monday lunchtime to repair and service our boiler.
