First time today, was busy but we ordered the full English which arrived promptly and to our surprise was a really quality breakfast, the only let down was it was supposed to have mushrooms but ours were missing after asking was told they had run out , would have liked to have been told when ordering & offered a substitute item hence 1 star taken off. Staff could have been a bit more attentive and menus should be put on tables rather then in a basket hidden on a side counter. Apart from that good food & reasonable prices, the park itself is a beautiful walk.
Used to come here quite a lot and was never overly impressed, but there’s not much around the area, so settled for it. Last time I went, the salad came out black. Not wilted. Black and rotten. I asked to speak to someone and they said they would send someone over. Waited. Asked again. They said they were busy and would come over when they can. Everyone else finished their meals and I eventually went up to the counter and was met with the two most rudest young girls I’ve ever met. I pointed at the salad and said this is black and they said there was no problem. Dumbfounded, I said, ‘so you would eat that?’ And they said yes! Absolutely no way in hell anyone would eat rotten lettuce. I wouldn’t feed that to a pig and she was trying to serve that to my child! I said I wanted a part refund, because part of the dinner was inedible and they outright refused. I told them I wouldn’t be going back there and they said, ‘good, we don’t want you back’. Honestly, I’ve never been treated like that anywhere in my life. When an owner of a business refuses to take on board feedback and right a wrong, you know it’s a terrible business. They’re overpriced, rude, arrogant and their food is bland and disgusting. I honestly hope they go out of business for the way they treat people. They think they have a one up, because they’re a cafe in a park and they absolutely take the mickey out of people. I’d give it zero stars if I could. I’d rather starve then ever set foot there ever again.
Very friendly staff, Tilly is always friendly and welcoming one of our regular visits
Very pleasant tea and cake in this cafe. It is spacious with a glass conservatory area giving natural light and views to the outside park.
Extensive menu in basic but cute surroundings in Oaks Park. Dog friendly, lots of cute doggos. Friendly service and food was pretty quick and basic but tasty. The loos were not clean. If coming via the 166 bus from Purley be warned it is not pushchair accessible, you have to walk via a brambly footpath
Would have given them 5 starts. A very dog friendly cafe. However, since I have to park in the disable parking space. I’m occasionally, blocked by their staff cars or delivery van. Today was the worst! I had to wait for them to slowly clear the space for over ten minutes. I could not get out and was blocked for over ten minutes. Is this also a health and safe hazard too!? Eventually, after 10mins plus wait I got out.
Nestled between Mayfield lavender 🪻 garden and community farms, Oaks cafe is a good place to stop for a breather after a refreshing dog walk.
Regularly visit here after a nice walk around oaks park with my dog. Incredibly dog friendly, clean and welcoming staff. Highly recommend if you want a dog friendly cafe with good food and great service
We came to Oaks Park for a day out, and it’s a lovely park. We had the chilli con carne and a breakfast, and both were really good. The only downside was that the coffee took a little while to arrive because it was busy. We’ll definitely be coming back!
Had lasagne x 2, worst meal both of us ever had, has to both leave it even after smothering in sauce, chips okay though cold. Maybe sandwiches okay. Next time we will bring our own food.
Arrived early coffee very weak and l had to point out there was ants on counter and tray of dessert but she didn’t wipe the countertop down just moved food tray by coffee machines
Lovely café & gardens. Lots of places to sit. Reasonably priced. Shouldn't have to pay extra for alternative milk though!
Yesterday I visited Oaks Park Cafe and had a really enjoyable experience. The cafe is set within the beautiful surroundings of Oaks Park, making it an ideal place for a relaxing day out. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful walk, a picnic spot, or simply somewhere to enjoy a good coffee, this place ticks all the boxes. The atmosphere was lovely, with both indoor and outdoor seating available. Sitting outside was especially enjoyable because of the park views and fresh air, while the indoor seating was comfortable and welcoming. The cafe had a friendly and relaxed vibe throughout. The food and drinks were very good. I had a cappuccino and a cup of tea, both of which were excellent. The selection of cakes and desserts was impressive, and everything looked fresh and tempting. The cake I tried was delicious and went perfectly with my coffee. One thing I really liked was how pet-friendly the place is. There were plenty of people visiting with their dogs, which added to the friendly and welcoming atmosphere. If you’re out for a walk with your dog in the park, this is a perfect place to stop for a drink or a snack. The park itself is beautiful, with plenty of walking trails, open green spaces, and great picnic spots. It’s a wonderful place to spend a few hours enjoying nature. Accessibility is also good, with dedicated disabled parking spaces available, and there is a decent amount of general parking as well. Overall, Oaks Park Cafe offers great coffee, tasty cakes, lovely desserts, beautiful surroundings, and a relaxed atmosphere. Combined with the fantastic walking areas, picnic opportunities, convenient parking, and pet-friendly environment, it makes for a really enjoyable visit. Highly recommended for families, dog owners, walkers, and anyone looking for a peaceful coffee stop in a beautiful park setting. ☕🍰🐕🌳✨
Went for a breakfast. Shame that the roof had a problem and was water was pouring in. But the staff were still serving. Had the large full English, and it was great. Been a few times before, and also been good.
Good cafe in oaks park run by good people who do good food and coffee. We have our English breakfast here before walking our dog in the big open green space. There is plenty of seating space indoors and outside but it can get busy on weekends and holidays. I think the price is on the higher side but it's location and overall experience once you are here is probably worth it.
Fabulous cafe located inside Oaks Park, great for breakfast or lunch plenty of seating inside and even more outside, dog friendly and open seven a week from 08:00 with plenty of free parking
Usually good but today an unacceptable wait for a sausage bap with people arriving after me being served in front of me with more complex meals. I was eating alone. 🤷🏻♂️
Fantastic dog-friendly spot! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had such a lovely walk with my dog here! The park is beautiful and the atmosphere is great. The service was incredibly polite and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I tried the vegan burger and it was absolutely delicious—full of flavor! I’ll definitely be coming back soon. Highly recommended!
Newly renovated and now a much larger, brighter premises. Good menu and great coffee. Dogs made very welcome too.
Definitely under new management, already seeing big improvements, outside area much cleaner than before, patio & decking have been jet-washed, new canopy & umbrellas. Great for dog walkers, staff always welcoming & make a fuss of our dog when we visit. Excellent breakfast, visit most weekends if we can, it's my breakfast venue of choice.
Asking customers to pay for having a conscience is cynical. Oat or soya alternatives are 50p more, not a nominal amount, but an exploitative sum. And half of a mug of coffee is froth, just to add to the profiteering - see the photo.
The staff are friendly.it is clean, service is good. All of our dogs love to share a portion of cheesy chips. There is a lot of outside seating which is spread out in several places.
Good quality drinks and all the pastries I've tried have been good. The staff are all very friendly and very efficient. Good amenities. Dog friendly and in great location. Very good café.
Brilliant place to meet for food or just a drink indoor and outdoor seating caters massively for dogs fantastic woodland walks with plenty of parking
Free parking. Wide range of good quality dishes. Something for everybody. They even have a dog menu. Reasonable prices. Very good service from the staff. Lots of dogs. Lots of them! The only reason I marked this place down one star is because, while I don't dislike dogs, I don't really want to eat with them. Maybe to dogs should eat outside. There is plenty of room outside.
I would not rate this cafe at all as the owner is an arrogant rude man. He does not comply to basic legal measures to operate as a business, and how he is still operating as a limited company is beyond me.
If I could rate this 0 I would. The man who claims hes the manager here is extremely rude and aggressive, he speaks to customers very badly and is very arrogant. Its unfortunate as I've been coming to oaks park for a while however now I will never visit this cafe again.
I’ll always go a few weeks then come back and try a light lunch again, every time I’m more disappointed! Lovely location and fine for a cake and coffee but from panini to chilli to Turkish pizza to today’s scampi and chips it never tastes like the best quality, all done on the cheap, having been a deli cook and upmarket cafe in Devon cook I guess I’m biased, won’t eat here again nor the Beddington park cafe as now run by same owner! Shame and to top it off the best part of scampi for me is tartar sauce, of course they had none 😬
First visit despite being local to us. Lovely setting in the woodland, on the edge of the park. Free parking close to the café. Plenty of choices, both hot and cold and sensibly priced. Minor observation; coffee and tea is served in large mugs but there is nowhere on the table to put used teabags, empty sugar sachets, used stirrers etc. So maybe worth serving the mugs on a saucer or provide a facility on each table. It would make the table cleaner's job easier and enhance initial appearances when entering the café
"I wonder how the government doesn't monitor the quality and prices of the food at this cafe! I ordered a full English breakfast with a small coffee cup; they charged me £19! And what's worse is that their coffee cup, which they say is large, is smaller than a normal small cup😏😡 To be honest, the owner of this cafe is taking advantage of the fact that it's the only cafe in this area and charging too much...(Who is actually robbing customers).
We live oaks park, and it doesn't hurt that the café is great as well. Lots to enjoy here.
This spot is in a perfect location and tick all the boxed : Perfect outside sitting between the trees, super friendly service and good coffee, fairly priced!
£13 for an excellent, and massive, full English breakfast. It was very busy but the food didn’t take long to arrive. Also, despite being busy there were plenty of seats both inside and outside, as it’s a very large café. Clearly this is a café for dog lovers as there were dozens of dogs in the café, which is fine of course, apart from the few dog owners who think everyone wants to hear their dogs barking loudly and incessantly. There’s a little sign for the café on the road but it’s easy to miss. It’s definitely worth popping in.
This place is an absolute GEM. A stunning cafe in beautiful surroundings with extraordinarily good and varied menu for a café. E.g. Just for the burgers (let alone other food), there's a choice of 6 or 7 types, from vegan to meat. Whoever heard of THAT? And the food and service is EXCELLENT. With a drink, a meal will probably cost £9 to £13. Beautifully designed light and airy cafe where even the roof can be retracted. Lots of seating outside in lovely sylvan shade. Plenty of tables but not at all overbearing. The atmosphere is wonderful. V dog friendly. Doggie ice cream and even free (I think) doggie sticks. People love it, and I'm not surprised. Whoever created this has turned arun-downn little cafe into a little paradise. Good job 👏👏👏 And the park is wonderful too with shadey walks and open areas. Ample parking. What's not to like? This is my 2nd visit. Even though this place is right out of my way, I have just got to keep coming back.
Nice location, close to woods, lavender farm and on the London loop. Only ordered a paint and a coffee. It was OK. Took a while to come even though it was not busy. Dog friendly. Worth popping in if you are in the area especially if you are doing the London loop.
Great decent size café, lots of outdoor seating. Super dog-friendly 🐕 they even have a dog menu and sell dog staff.
This is a good out-of-town restaurant, it has open-air seating with indoor seating nearby there is also a convenient parking place Leisure days and sunny times usually have a lot of people garden feel gives me a quiet noon is a good choice
A great cafe lots of space.Portions are huge! Lovely to walk in the park and grab breakfast/lunch. good for dogs with dog treats.
Absolutely terrible fry up food. Nothing remotely healthy on my part this menu. Service average to poor. Seven pounds for 2 scoops ice cream. You come here more for the environment and potentially a poorly made coffee. Would I recommend for food no! For the atmosphere and spring time to chill yes!
Good food and great service. Was very busy on the Sunday morning I was there, and the 2 girls taking orders and making coffees were brilliant fast and friendly. Food ( I had Full English) , was tasty , well cooked and arrived hot- also good value. .
Food was delicious 😋 I come here 2-3 times a week, the portions food is great, the staff is very polite. Thanks 🤩
Found this cafe by chance. Proper dog walkers haven as dogs welcome and was full of all sorts of breeds with their owners. Service was quick and by very helpful friendly staff. Food was cooked straight away and was excellent as was the coffee.
Second time trying and great food. Would highly recommend this place. Very clean and lovely staff and atmosphere. The girl that served us was very friendly and a great laugh. Think her name was Helen. She couldn't do enough for us. Thank you 😊
Long dark hair in beans, put me off rest of breakfast, is a pity as was tasty produce and good ingredients. Staff apologised when pointed it out but no offer of refund or to change the plate. Won't be back
We were regulars here. The.last two times we have been, the food has been vile. First time undercooked poached eggs with runny albumen. Same again the following week. My daughter who worries about everything thought that they were trying to poison her. 😂 My lasagne was exceedingly poor quality and I would have been embarrassed to serve it. It was baked on to the edges off the dish and was small, tasteless and had the consistency of leather. Won't be going there again.
It was my first time at this cafe. It was a lovely location for having a catch up with a friend. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Family and pet friendly. Free parking. They make a fantastic breakfast!
Great cafe serving a choice of hot meals. Outdoor seating as well to enjoy the weather. On a rainy day the is indoor seating but can be busy. Easy to park near the cafe. Oakamoor Park is a good place for a walk popular with all ages. Feels like the countryside despite being in London.
Perfect place for relaxed coffee or lunch with my dog. Very dog friendly including a full dog menu. Seating inside and out. Friendly service.
Today asked for a cheese and pickle panni...came up couldn't see the cheese and there was red tomato sauce instead of pickle which was disgusting my.fault should have taken it back abd complained for my husband had eaten one half and said it was allful should have said it wasn't what.i ordered
Lovely cafe and beautiful setting. However, food quality changes wildly from visit to visit. Sometimes it's great, sometimes dire. Cake selections are often unusual flavours (carrot and pistachio) and often sold out. Ham sandwich for close to 5 quid turned up with a single slice of ham that didn't even cover the bread. Last week that same sandwich had salad with it and was loaded with ham.
It was lovely to sit in the shade (as it was a hot day) Milkshake was amazing and the paininis were tasty with a bit of salad and crisps on side.
Nice cafe, good food and reasonable prices. Very dog friendly way too much for my liking
First time visiting this cafe Hard working staff especially in the warm weather All good Great service 🌟👍🏾 Very much dog friendly though I don’t have one myself
Great cafe serving a wide range of meals for both humans and dogs from 8am. Thoroughly recommend the breakfast. They also sell dog toys and accessories. All the dog walkers s and dogs are very sociable. A lovely little park; for a longer walk you can head off on the London loop or on the footpath through the famous lavender fields.
Ordered 2 bacon sandwiches and to our surprise each one had a single piece of bacon therein. So for 5.50 pounds each truly ripped off Could not complain as long queue
Go here regularly and the food is excellent. Great service, very friendly. Can't fault the place
Lovely cafe with lovely, hardworking staff. The food is delicious with both spacious inside and outside seating suitable for any type of weather. Highly recommend!
Very miserly-thin sliver of a slice of cake there (20th June 2024), I did remark about it, & even the lady next in the queue behind me commented about it ! And expensive. Very disappointing.
Excellent venue since refurbishment. Currently undergoing further enlargement.
A class service and amazing smoothies too, Also they even have a dog menu 👌🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️
Nice café but hygiene will be impossible to rate due to the high volume of dogs passing inside the café. Then I suppose it's a dog café lol.
Managed to get a big table for a large group of us fairly well on a bank holiday Monday. There was a 30min wait for food which was advertised in advance of ordering. Everyone's food came apart from mine which they said was on the way. 15mins later I went to ask at the till as most people had already finished on my table at this point. I then asked where it was and they said I could have it to takeaway as the kids had already gone outside I agreed. When my takeaway lasagne came after waiting another 10mins. The waitress said here's your food and just left. I had just the lasagne without the salad and chips I had paid for. I waited at the till for another 10mins to complain and was just ignored by waitresses and staff. Left feeling disappointed by the service, upset I didn't get what I paid for and ignored as a customer. I had previously had a good experience but today left me not wanting to come back.
Love love love!! Our favourite place to come for a lovely dog walk and breakfast! They have spent so much money making this a great space no matter what the weather! Short walk round the park or a long one round the golf club and park
Lovely place to go and have some lunch. The food was well cooked and hot. I had an all day breakfast which was really nice and had some of the best sausages I've had in a long time. Came complete with two slices of toast too. Only drawback is that there are quite a few dogs around as well as the cafe also caters for dogs. However all the dogs that I saw were all on a lead. If you're not keen on dogs or have kids that are scared of dogs it could be a problem for you. Would definitely go back again.
Best cafe in Sutton. Wonderful fresh food. Super friendly lovely service. Very clean.
This cafe goes from strength to strength. It used to be a hidden gem, a little bit too much PVC for my liking, but with outdoor seating and great food and coffee. Now it's had a refurb, and it's actually really nice. Still has extras like ice cream, milkshakes, and lots of dog products, but also the seating area is bigger and smarter. It's one of my favourite places to go for a bit of a 'green break'.
Lovely cafe in Oaks park. Dog friendly. Quick service. Doggy sausage is my dog's favourite.
I ordered my food for takeaway and had to wait along time. Yes granted they were busy.but every other order seemed to come out fairly quick. I actually waited about 30 minutes. During this time I did ask if they could see where my food was.
New extension installed is excellent. Good food / coffee and friendly staff. Recommend the bacon baps for a quick snack.
As there are a good many dogs, can be quite noisy. When I was there, one dog was particularly noisy as soon as someone moved. I think as the two women with the dog had finished their coffee they could have been asked to leave. It was very disturbing. Never had that problem before.
Lovely, friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. Great place to end a daily dog walk. Good food choices and dog friendly
Enjoy the food or a drink at the end of a morning walk. Friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere. Love watching the birds on the bird feeders. Having visited the cafe now for nine years it has been transformed by the owner. He has invested in the building and what it offers, especially to dog walkers. I remember freezing outside with my dog before he took over. Outside seating for, hopefully, warm days.
Great place to meet up and have a bite to eat and something to drink. And it's very dog friendly.
This is a wonderful community cafe. Always welcomed. Lovely staff, who are fast servers. They Help me with my barking dog. We brought 2 groups of older people last year for tea. They loved it.
Always a welcome coffee here after walking the dogs. Food always good and even when it’s busy not a long wait.
This cafe is lovely, very dog friendly. Really nice breakfasts. Nice seating outside.
Lovely breakfast here, i’d definitely recommend. Amazing service from Harry he accommodated to all of our needs, such a nice place for a coffee.
Friendly staff. Quick service. Nice bright spacious cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Decent coffee. Dog friendly and friendly dogs! Dog sausages highly rated by our dog.
Pleasant small café with extra seating outside. Good service. New covered seating area outside.
Amazed at how the revamp looks. Haven't been here for a couple years but it used to just be a counter, fridge and couple old tables.. looks real good now!
I believe they should have a dog area myself and friends could nor hear ourselves talk with all the dogs barking and not all of them were on leads !!
Wonderful cafe, at times gets very busy. Good selection on the menu. Friendly welcoming staff. Dogs well provided for too. Not sure everyone would feel comfortable with dogs roaming freely inside whilst eating.
I definitely recommend the omelette and chips with cheese, ham and mushroom. All food is delicious and always served with a smile. The staff work extremely hard, especially in the summer when food is served outside too.
First visit today. Plenty of room in the car park. Bright and airy cafe with very friendly staff. Had the big breakfast, yummy. Dog friendly with plenty of wagging tails.
I visit this place once a week for coffee after tai chi in the park. The staff are always super friendly and the coffee and cake always hit the spot. Lovely light, airy space to sit and look out on the park. When the weather allows, lots of tables in the sun, or beneath the shade of the trees, to relax and take in nature.
Love this place The staff are fantastic, very friendly. They love dogs. The coffee is excellent L love the garlic cheese bread. A very nice place to meet and enjoy the cafe and park.
Lovely egg and tomato sandwich, with 2 eggs! Delicious,, will definitely be back 🥚🥚
I was embarrassed to take a couple of friends here based on the reviews. Two of us had soup which tasted like watered down tinned soup with poor quality bread, the other had the panini but couldn’t finish it the bread was so poor, the coffee was ok but tepid. I think £10 for a small bowl of soup and a coffee is a scam. Won’t be returning
Food is always excellent at the oaks. We had a fantastic breakfast. They are incredibly dog-friendly. With great options for food for them. Ours loves chicken and rice. Always a friendly smile and excellent service.
I haven't tried the food yet, but the hot chocolates here are my absolute favourite! 😍 They also have tasty puddings.
Lovely place, but I was in shock when was asked £7.50 for 1 portion of egg and chips! Portion not even filing enough. Won’t be ordering food there again.
A nice place to meet if you’re a fan of dogs, had the food it was OK nothing special. Great for what it is, only thing I didn’t like is the staff touching dogs and then potentially dealing with your food.
Well priced tasty food. Good cup of tea with soya mill, think we had to pay extra for teh soya milk though. Clean and tidy, lots of room. Dogs are allowed inside, plenty of seating outside. I like that they have bird feeders outside.
Everyone with nut allergy: BEWARE. I, of course, should have asked at the time, but a tiffin bar from the cafe contained walnuts. I was very unwell soon afterwards, whilst walking in the woods, and was rushed by ambulance to Epsom Hospital A&E. I recovered there, but I had missed a chemotherapy treatment at the Marsden, so the consequences were doubly serious for me. I had checked and eaten tiffin at the cafe twice before, so I took this on trust. IF ONLY THERE HAD BEEN A LABEL BY THE SERVING DISH. Natasha's Law?
Beautiful sunny day, lunch inside next to the large windows. Ham, egg and chips and a chicken curry with rice. Very nice presentation and tasty food. The staff were friendly and smily.
Very nice location and atmosphere. Good if you have a dog! Food is a little ordinary, but relatively cheap. Coffee is machine and not Barista
Went for a walk through Oak Park and decided to stop at the café, had an omelette and chips with a latte, very good and now refurbished it is a delightful location, thumbs up from me, staff really pleasant.
First time we have been here since their refurbishment and what a difference! So much more room. Nice, friendly, helpful staff. Food was very nice.
Had lunch there today. Food cooked well and speedily. Good value also. Young servers are a credit to the cafe. They were polite, efficient and willing to help. Well done.
Lovely food, with amazing service! Lots of green space for a picnic and for kids to run around, the woods entertain the kids for hours and very dog friendly! Golf course and lavender fields nearby! Highly recommend!
Very friendly. The cafe has been upgraded. It's very swish now. Like a National trust cafe. It's much bigger, lighter and open. It's still packed with dog walkers and other visitors to the park. The dog sausages are very popular. The park is stunning.
The review is focused on their new extension and the quality of the food, if you’re ordering the panini ask to omit the “salad” and “5 chips of nachos”, they will still charge the same price but at least you’ll safe yourself from disappointment. It’s our first time trying their food and I will stick to coffee in all future visits. The folks here are nice and we’re grateful for the cafe’s presence here at the park. The extensions have no soundproofing, so speech and dog barks will be heightened.
Nice. Food quality is good. Portions ok, not excessive so if very hungry maybe order the large portion not medium for the cooked breakfast. Seems very dog friendly, water bowls for them everywhere. Ice cream a bit expensive at £4.50 for two scoops but nice enough.
Such a cosy, lovely place. Having lunch or coffee with cake... An amazing feeling having meal in the woods, surrounding with birds, threes just beautiful. I need to complement good service (especially Ihan - great service - Thank you). Also, need to mention such a lovely people around, lots of dogs, good vibe
I've been going to this café for many years and it's always been good value. In recent times the premises have been improved greatly expanding its covered in eating area and the servery area has been modernised improving the environment considerably.
Good cafe. With limited food options but nice place to relax with dogs. Lots of sitting outside. And lovely ice-cream options.
Lovely for the dogs, shaded areas as well as areas where you can sit into he sun. New inside area, nice, light and airy. Service was impeccable. They do a menu for dogs as well as humans. Only one very small issue was the price (fairly expensive) BUT well worth it! Love this place.
Lovely cafe with delicious food in a dog friendly georgeous park. The service was excellent from friendly staff.Very much enjoyed being day out with family and friends at this park.Highly recommended.
Good options for brunch / Lunch. They do have kids menu and hot drinks. Dog owners would love this place as they are dog friendly.
Nice setting under the trees. Efficient. Clean. Lovely cranberry tiffin. Not pricy.
I'm a regular at this park n cafe as i walk my dog there almost every day. Service is fast, good and friendly. The food is very good, they bring it to your table. The place is very clean. It's a haven for dog owners as dogs are allowed in the main cafeteria, which is a welcome respite on a cold, frosty day. Coffee is good, and dog sausages are priced well.
Very friendly, served a good breakfast, would highly recommend- beautiful place for our fur baby 🐶
Amazingly beautiful cafe Great selection of breakfast and drinks Great ice cream selection (for dogs too) Lots of indoor and outdoor seating Price isn't too bad, supports the local park Would recommend to go here with a dog or for a gentle jog
Very nice surroundings and atmosphere. A really pleasant place to stop for a refeshment break on a bike ride. One gentleman working there was a bit rude when telling people where to queue, but otherwise highly recommended 👍
I love this place. Ideal to stop off for a cheeky coffee and cake after a dog walk. Very dog friendly too. Selling dog sausage and ice-cream too!!!!
It's a nice cafe with a simple but adequate menu. We enjoyed a nice scampi and chips. Dog friendly.
A visit on a recent dry sunny day with husband in wheelchair. All disabled parking spaces taken. We got husband out of car and into wheelchair then daughter who had not been here before went to find car parking space. Paninis and tea ordered in cafe but we chose to sit outside. Service very quick. Food tasty and served with salad garnish. Ladies toilets small but clean. A very pleasant visit and obviously very popular with dog owners. Dogs everywhere!
It was a really lovely day and most suitable for a bike ride with friends. The café has been updated since I last visited, but the service and atmosphere hadn't lost its edge, and was still great. I didn't eat anything, but a colleague did have something like ginger-cake which looked scrumptious.
Such a lovely cafe with great outdoor seating, food and polite staff. The park as well is beautiful all year round. Highly recommended 👌
Used to come here with my dog. Really nice place to grab a coffee and walk around the park.
Had to wait for food, but tbh they were full inside and lots sitting in the picnic areas
I thought it was all too expensive for what you get! I will bring my own flask of coffee next time and own snack.......just saying.....!!
Extremely dog friendly, food is nice, staff are friendly. Place is always busy. It has an internal seating area, a sheltered seating area and a huge garden seating area for summer, with bird feeders hanging on a line, so you can watch the wildlife. Excellent idea by the owner. Dogs are allowed in all areas of the cafe. Has a doggy menu 😍
Great cafe, the food is lovely (especially the home-made chicken curry!) and the staff are very friendly. Great touch having the bird feeders by the outdoor seating. Would definitely recommend
Came here today after arriving from New Zealand yesterday and it's just fab! The parks gorgeous and the Cafe is friendly with great food and great service. It's delightful sitting in the covered outside area watching the birds and squirrels playing and eating from the hanging feeders! Such a nice place!! Thank you..G from NZ
Smells of dogs, very unpleasant - wet fur and dog farts. Last time I went, my meal and I were sprayed by a dog and I had to go home to change.
Been going to the cafe for years so did my precious mum ...its a great place with friendly staff .. my only negative is ..I would like there to be some more Vegan food please
Really lovely walk around area, lots of nature and care of the animals and great customer service!
Went to Oaks Park Cafe today and was very pleased with the customer service that I had and they made sure everything was served well. I highly recommend it definitely will be coming again
Very busy when I went for lunch at 12.30pm, but food very good. Cafe much bigger than I remembered it from 5yrs ago
A really lovely cafe with great outdoor seating (inside seating too) sitting in the sunshine eating a vegan breakfast, very good doggy menu too 👍🏻
The prices here are absolutely ridiculous, where they get their prices from is beyond me £2.50 for a T bag!!!
A lovely cafe to compliment a lovely park. Very reasonably priced with lots of choice, with very good food quality. The staff are friendly, polite and their service is quick and efficient. Dog friendly, with doggy ice cream and dog treats as well as dog toys.
Only had ice cream at cafe but appears nice enough. With shaded seating areas outside if needed. Shame it doesn't open earlier, especially in these summer months as would love to get a breakfast or coffee at the end of a dog walk but probably being self centred tbh.
A lovely cafe in Oaks Park. It's very large with lots of seating both indoor and out. They have a great menu as well as hot drinks. The cafe is especially friendly for dogs and they sell a large selection of dog accessories. The staff are very friendly and the cafe was immaculately spotless and clean. I had a full English breakfast for £7 which was very reasonable and came quickly. My dog enjoyed the water and a few scraps of bacon. I would recommend this cafe for anyone in the area or anyone coming to visit Oaks Park. The views and atmosphere make this a wonderful place to enjoy the afternoon with a nice cup of tea.
Cafe has been updated with two new outdoor seating areas, better organised serving drinks, food and great cakes and ice cream.
This place is a real jewel in the park, it is always as busy as it deserves to be, the staff are always pleasant, the food is always good and hot and diverse and even if you only fancy a coffee, your sure to find one that'll suit. Also they sell a fantastic range of dog supplies ie leads, harness, pop up water bowl and even a tennis ball launcher, so your dog will have a treat too........our dog particularly enjoys the dog sausages
Food was okay, the ice cream was incredible! Definitely recommend the ice cream.
lovely place to eat dog friendly aswell very over priced and breakfast was not as hot as I expected.
Lovely cafe, very dog friendly. Food was good, should invest in a pager system to deal with food orders.
We love this place. Friendly staff, delicious food, fast service, tranquil surroundings. A real gem.
Lovely ice cream and food staff very friendly and dogs allowed even have their own menu. Great place!
Very nice cafe with friendly staff and good service. Not overly expensive, good food choices and very dog friendly.Pleasant to sit outside if the sun is shining.
Friendly staff in cafe, nice food and improved outside seating with lovely cover. Perfect for eating outside if it rains.
Great variety of food and drinks (even has a doggie menu). Staff very friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.
A wonderful place, lovely food, and the best thing is you can watch the bird feeders( which there are many) while having your coffee. Friendly staff. I love this place.
Lovely place for a cuppa. Cycling nearby. Parking Nice walks. Lots of space and tables.
Excellent food amazing so clean and tidy. Staff really friendly. Recommend it to everyone xx
Really enjoyed lunch today very pleasant atmosphere and tasty food. We will be back after another lovely walk.
Good basic food and drinks. Service very friendly. Outdoor seating in nice setting. Worth a visit
Extremely popular place serving a vast selection of food. Excellent seating in and out and ideal for a drink to take away whilst walking around the grounds. Highly recommended
A lovely place for a drink or food after a walk around the park. It's a good place to meet up with friends. Great omelette!
A warm welcoming cafe on a cold day. Lovely hot drinks, food and exceptionally dog friendly too 👍🍰☕
Opens on time every day with polite and caring staff , good food , fresh and liked by many people including my friends who come with me , lots of open space to sit under cover for Social Distance , the owner really cares about the park and customers of the cafe , a decent hard working team . Come up and spend some time visiting the grounds and spend time having some hot food & teas n coffees .
Fabulous lunches and not too pricey. Quick service. Only point to make.... please provide nicer sausages....
Would highly recommend 5⭐ Fantastic place, great services and lots of open space and woodland trails, one word of warning watch where you park as the company that runs this will ticket you at every opportunity (£100.00) 🤬
Good coffee, very friendly smiling staff and good food portions for the price with nice atmosphere and seats in the garden. Could get really busy during weekends so expect long waiting times for food during brunch times up to 45 min.
Plenty of seats, both indoors and outdoors. Fresh food and cakes. The cheese omelette was delicious.
Sunny day enjoyed delicious ice cream with my friends at Oaks cafe friendly staff nice place to relax after a long walk
Very busy today, but cheerful staff and delicious food. And most importantly a good cup of tea in a china mug!
Good, honest cafe food in lovely surroundings. Gets very busy if the sun is out so sometimes have a bit of a wait for food orders (not excessive) but that just goes to show how popular it is ! Staff are all friendly and helpful. Popular area for dog walkers so might put some people off if they're not too keen on "man's best friend".
Nice place, well run and decent food. The staff are lovely. Would be even better if people didn't litter pointlessly (there are bins!)
Staff are lovely but don’t bother wasting your money on a flat white as you just end up with a white Americano!
Staff on the counter were great, kitchen staff were more interested in ensuring their friend was served his food promptly. Left after 25 minutes and went to McDonald’s.
Had a great experience, go there again. The plus is it's dog friendly in the eating area's
Very pleasant two hours spent. Especially as somewhere to have a drink . Also dog friendly.
Beautiful cafe at rear of oak trail. Friendly staff, good food and delicious ice creams. Also has a huge park for picnic on sunny day.
Absolutely lovely place to relax... staff are all brilliant and friendly...Absolutely love it
Really good Quality food..panini was delicious, very lovely cappuccino and reasonably priced
Very busy cafe. Food was lovely and coffee. Seats available. You could walk across road. If to busy.
Like the refurb which was probably inspired by Covid. Only problem is signage, other than some arrows on the floor once you have entered ,nothing to tell you what entrance to take and what to leave by.
Nice cafe with good choice of food- would have been 4 stars but for the ear-piercing shouting of order numbers by the loud blonde waitress every couple of minutes which somewhat spoils the peaceful vibe.
Takes cash. If you use card you need to spend £5 or more. Coffee lovely and food was ok.
This is the third time I have been here. Lovely walk but in the cafe the staff wasn't wearing masks. Even saw the staff behind where they prepare food having their masks on their chins. I walked out as didn't feel this was right.
Nice cafe, friendly staff, good selection of food and beverages at reasonable prices
This park is very big. We walked around one part that took 45 minutes. Really lovely views. Cafe with outdoor seating and toilet facilities.
Visited on Tuesday 13th April. The food i ordered was very high quality and good for the price. The staff were also very welcoming and friendly
Really lovely fresh sandwiches, good choice of drinks. Staff very welcoming and efficient.
Very pleasant place to go for walks. Cafe has been refurbished and enlarged ready for lockdown end but does takeaway and the coffee is much better than before
Good social distancing seating options. Great white chocolate and cranberry (?) Tiffin. Yum yum. Also check out the local artist displaying inside. Lovely prints
Staff have done so well to keep walkers supplied with take out food and drinks
Very quick and efficient service would be handy though if the way in was signposted and not over the door round the corner other than that minor problem excellent.
pleasant walks. Wear wellies as quite muddy. Nice benches as memorials to loved ones.
Serves hot and cold drinks and snacks, including treats for dogs. Covered outside seating plus seating uncovered.
New management have improved the service. Food well prepared. Loads of outdoor tables. If you love combining breakfast and walking your dog, you'll be in heaven!
Food was okay and service was prompt but lacking in customer service. Staff were not wearing their masks.
Nice small cafe, great place to get a coffee in the winter and an ice cream in the summer.
As it was a lovely day and lots of familiesand dog walkers enjoying the weather and exercise. Cafe quite busy but social distancing in the queues and one way system. Tables and chairs no longer available outside during current lockdown but plenty of benches nearby if required.
No option to buy coffe by card, minimum to spend £5. Waste of time to stay in the queue, and find out that you can't buy coffe.
I met my son for a socially distanced walk and lunch for my birthday and needed somewhere midway Oaks Park gave some delightful walking and the prawn and avocado baguette with cherry cake was fabulous (but no candle! ) Thank you - we'll be back xx
Great little cafe and setting. Various hot and cold drinks and fabulous cakes 🎂
The park is lovely and the cafe would be nice too. It was my favourite stop for a coffee during a stroll. But they are only pretending to follow covid rules, the masks are hanging from they ears and are not wear. The lady at the counter was coughing insistently and when I kindly ask if they could wear a mask they replied very rudely. It’s a pity because it was a place that I enjoyed.
Very friendly and following Covid guidelines. A welcome stop after an enjoyable Autumn walk.
We finished an afternoon stroll ,and then had teas and coffees ,which were like nectar .Thank you
Renovated since last visit, good covid distancing and rules, good menu, nice ambience rather a lot of dogs barking!!!
Nice friendly staff, quick service, vegan options, and sheltered outdoor seating. Great option for locals.
Fabulous. Well prepared for awful weather. Food was lovely, service brilliant well organised as always. Very Covid secure. Staff friendly efficient
Lots of parking. Alongside a lovely dog friendly park. Nice cafe with outdoor extension. What's not to like? Opposite lavender field too.
Met up with friends in the park, then stopped off here for an icecream. Staff friendly, even when it's busy.
Love this park and the cafe makes it a all round lovely walk with the dogs.. cafe is clean and covid friendly ! The menu is great for us and the pooch ... will return again and again
Wonderful cafe! Lovely to see such an animal friendly place! They even have a dog menu!
This is my go to dog walking park and the staff are friendly. Have a good selection of sandwiches and ice creams, tea and coffee. Outdoor seating areas. Also dog ice creams and treats sold in the shop. Only reason for not 5stars is could be cheaper! £2.50 per scoop of ice cream
Lovely food, coffee, and icecreams are yummy. Even see doggy icecream my dog loves it. Xx
A day of highs and lows. A beautiful park, a good selection of lovely ice cream, but unfortunately the worst coffee I have had in years, it was so bland, all I could taste was the milk. For £5 I would like two decent coffees. We're coming back soon but bringing our own coffee.
A great setting in the park and a great park, too. This cafe has kept things going during covid19. The staff are friendly and welcome you with a smile. Lovely sandwiches on soft fresh bread. Plenty on the menu to choose from, and very reasonably priced.
Beautiful surroundings in the park, the coffee was good. But the level of cleaning was zero. We sat there for over an hour having two rounds of coffee and sandwiches . Not once did someone come to clean tables. Nothing. Staff serving food without any covid precautions. Such a shame. Tables, seats and trays dirty!!!! Not once did we see anyone wiping down tables after people left. Staff not wearing masks when serving food. Anyone at risk should not use this cafe.
A great shame. Their coffee is amazing, pretty silky smooth....but Social Distancing & Coronavirus rules are NOT being implemented? They have 2 meter stickers on the floor, & a perspex screen, but that’s about it. Managers (2 I think?) both delivering food to customers without gloves, or masks. When I suggested it, they brushed my comments off rudely. No hand washing at all by any staff, or anyone wearing gloves when handling cash. The customer hand sanitizer was out of reach until I asked for it. Then, when you are waiting for your order, the next customer is asked what they want & approach the screen & are too close, so no system in place for that? Toilets dirty & no system or sanitiser available? Needs addressing ASAP.
Waited 45 minutes for some very unimpressive food. We were there at a busy time and staff were apologetic, but still, it was a totally unrewarding experience.
Busy at the ice cream counter but no social distance marking or queue system whatsoever. Please put some signage out and maybe a one way queue system like other businesses have.
Ice cream was good but service was awful! Ordered a tub ice cream and it was dropped on the counter face down. He just picked it up and gave it to me! No apology! Asked for a new one and said that's not exactly hygienic, and the other lady behind the counter rudely said "it's clean". What! Especially in the time of coronavirus thats totally unacceptable!
Got a free 2nd scone with my cream tea! Don’t like the polystyrene packaging. Still giving 5 stars in the hope they can switch. Had oat and soy milk 👍
The ice creams are nice but it is quite expensive. Also I find it really odd that in a busy dog walking park you can't take your dog inside to order. So if you want to grab a coffee on your walk you have to leave your dog outside and you won't have eyes on them because of the layout. I understand that some people won't like to eat in with other dogs there but maybe staffing the ice cream serving hatch so lone dog walkers can order coffee would be an idea.
Excellent coffee and Turkish Pizza served by friendly staff, very clean and pleasant atmosphere.
Lovely cafe and great friendly staff. We had a yummy Thai chicken soup and a vegan breakfast. Just one thing guys; add a vegan spread for the toast and then it would be perfect. I'll be back soon :) Thank you.
I walked past the cafe the other day. I can't comment on the food or service because I didn't go in but the outside has definitely been cleaned up. Before there was a lot litter, uncleared tables, unkempt gardens & generally uncared for. All that appears to have changed & now looks very presentable & welcoming.
DO NOT READ GOOD REVIEWS I seriously don’t believe this is under new and better management. There was one girl running between two tills and the wait for food advertised was 40 minutes. We asked if we could go for a walk in the park while we wait for our food and she said this was fine,be back in 30 minutes to be safe. We arrived back after 25 minutes and sat and waited for our food. 20 minutes after that still no food so my mum went in to ask. They said they brought the food out after 30 minutes and we weren’t there so they threw it in the bin! No apology and tried to suggest we were wrong about ours times. She then asked her colleague “did she tell you she was going to be wandering off?” in a very rude manner. My mum replied “no, we went for a walk as we agreed”. We luckily got a refund but wow. Shocking. I am amazed some people work in retail/customer facing roles and I feel sorry for the staff that probably get a lot of abuse due to the poor management here. Girl at the till made a nice mocha which can justify the 1 star!
Filthy dirty needs a good clean very over priced staff not interested until their kids come in for a free feed
Reasonable price, good food, staff is helpful enough. Like the changes, as we haven't been here for a few years.
Have been regular customers for years now and always enjoy coming here as a good atmosphere with excellent food and very pleasant staff, especially Debbie.
Tea and cakes nice but staff are the most rudest I've ever come across unwelcoming and unfriendly!
Visited with my mum today who is coeliac (allergic to gluten) and asked if there was any gluten in the frozen yoghurt. Seemed like a safe option but staff were unable to tell me if there was gluten in it or not. Having worked in cafes before, I know from experience that it's vital to have access to a list of ingredients and potential allergens for any products being sold. Instead, they laughed in my face when I asked for the tub that the yoghurt comes in that would have listed the ingredients. Had to ditch the frozen yoghurt as they couldn't get me basic information and did so in a very rude and sarcastic manner. To top it all off, they forgot my cake. Will not be going back.
Visited today and to be honest we found the tea rooms to be overpriced, staff not friendly one in particular very rude and made us feel uncomfortable and as for the food well let's just say they really need someone in the kitchen who knows what their doing you just get the feeling that the general public who visit there are only a means of making money and not valued as customers which is a shame bearing in mind the location and lavender fields are very close by with the right people running this establishment it really could be a little gem but unfortunately the staff at present really are not up to the task of making it work.
Doesn’t do soya milk, kitchen shuts really early, coffee is bland and their “specialty” tea is just twinings.
Great little place to stop at for food or drink. They have water bowls out for dogs too.
Ordered two bacon sandwiches on a realtively quiet Sunday morning. They were ok when they arrived nearly an hour later. No warning when ordering or apology when they arrived.
An amazing little cafe/tea room. My breakfast was so tasty and the excellent service by all the staff made me feel so welcome. I will most definitely be returning with the family. Highly recommend to anyone.
Great little cafe in lovely park. We were well fed and the staff were wonderful.
Lovely place to eat and beautiful park for the dogs. Doggie meals avalable to for our pampered poochie.
Big disappointment. Had the vegetarian breakfast.. Hash browns were soggy not crispy... Asked for bread got toast and worst of all plastered with margarine... Sorry I don't want cancer I want butter! Worst off all the mushrooms were swimming in fat that had clearly been used before as all the fat contained black bits.. Apart from that I'm happy to give 1 star as the Victoria Sponge was okay...
Worth a stop in for the all day breakfast. Regardless of other reviews we have returned several times and found it clean and fur free.
Nice spot to stop for a snack, or in our case a quick ice cream. Varied menu and close to the lavender field over the road which is with a visit in summer.
All change at the Oaks Park Cafe Friendly service and they let dogs in at last. I always thought it strange that a cafe where most of the customers were dog walkers didn't let dogs in. Now it looks like they've seen the light. We'll done to the new owners
Very disappointing food, ordered two full English Breakfasts, both were cold and the sausages only just cooked through. The service was terrible bordering on sarcastic, staff smoking at the entrance when you walked in didn't look great. Coffee was average. The only reason I would go back would be for a hot drink on a cold day when going for a walk in the beautiful surroundings. This place could be a little gold mine, but the staff need to get their fingers out.......
I can't tell you what the food is like as I never got any. I waited half an hour for my food and then they told me they'd run out of what I'd ordered. So I left (after getting a refund).
Good place to stop in for a coffee and a bacon butty after a walk. Very dog friendly.
