JC Decorators

John did a superb job sanding, repainting and finishing my exterior porch canopy. He did a thorough job and was meticulous with the detail, and he was very tidy. He also gave me advice on best type of paint to use for the job. I would highly recommend and will use again. 2026 update: I got John back in to paint my landing stairs and hall (as he did such a good job before). I'm thrilled! Super job and he is very tidy (did full clean down and vacuum after as well as rehanging my mirrors and paintings!) I highly recommend John if you want a reliable and meticulous painter. 👌

Job well done. John is extremely helpful and has excellent attention to detail. I'd recommend him as a decorator to anyone

After reading previous reviews we asked John to paint our exterior 5 bed house and was definately not disappointed. He organised the scaffolding for us with another efficient company and then painted all four elevations, soffits, lower fascias and garage door frames. This involved preparing, sanding and applying 2 coats of Zinsser satin all coat paint as well as washing all the guttering, garage doors and bays and window sills. He even checked and unblocked all the downpipes for us. A proper first class job by a proper first class tradesman. We can fully recommend his services. Thank you again John

Great job, on time, quality finish

Very glad we called John to come and do our painting for us, was an excellent final result, was very professional and can see his experience in his work! Can definitely recommend.

John decorated my office and has worked for several clients of mine as well. He is easy to work with, kept me informed of timescales and did a top quality job. I highly recommend him.

We recently hired John to decorate our large hallway with very high walls and ceilings, and we couldn’t be happier with the result. His extensive experience and expertise were immediately apparent, particularly as he had to correct a significant amount of poor work left by a previous decorator. He carried out an exceptional level of preparation, especially on the extensive woodwork, which includes eight doors and frames. He also stripped back dark paint from our wooden railings and restored them beautifully with a natural varnish, completely transforming their appearance. He was punctual, friendly, and extremely clean and tidy throughout the process, taking great care in our home and clearly taking pride in his work. The finish is excellent, and the hallway now looks fantastic. We would highly recommend him and would not hesitate to use him again for future work.

John is a pleasant person who is really passionate about his decorating. John painted our lounge this week. This is the first time we have had a decorator paint our lounge as we had always done it ourselves. The difference is amazing. Everything feels smoother thanks to Johns meticulous preparation. His timekeeping was good and he cleaned up afterwards. All the furniture was protected with plastic sheeting. John is full of useful information regarding decorating and I learnt a few tricks of the trade that I will be implementing when I start my next job in a much smaller room. Thank you John.

We recently moved and were looking for a decorator to paint most of the interior of our new house. After researching online, we found John and saw the positive reviews from previous customers, so decided to reach out to him and so happy that we did. We are thrilled with the work he has done! John was passionate about the job and it clearly showed. We needed most of the walls painted, wallpaper removed, and many holes patched up. We are incredibly impressed with the high quality of his work. He was professional and a joy to have around for a few weeks. He took great care in the work he did. We would highly recommend John as a decorator!

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to John . I needed some painting and decorating doing at my house and I had the privilege of using John, he is a exceptional painter and decorator with a wealth of knowledge and experience with a meticulous eye for detail, takes pride in his work with attention to detail that ensures a flawless finish. In addition to completing the work that I had agreed , John went above and beyond by assisting with additional tasks around the house at no extra cost ( which I could not do myself) This level of dedication and integrity is rare and greatly appreciated. I would have no hesitation in recommending JC Decorators to anyone seeking a reliable trustworthy and highly skilled painter and decorator . I will certainly be engaging and using John again on future projects and will be sharing his details with family and friends. Many Thanks Bill

Recently John decorated the outside of my house. He prepared and decorated long neglected render having arranged for scaffolding. He made good on a sun damaged bay window and then prepared and painted windows and door. At his suggestion he painted the guttering and down pipes. He arrived on the arranged date and was always on time. His work is of a high professional standard going over and above. I am very satisfied and felt justified when a neighbour commented that it looked like a new house. Grateful thanks John.

John painted my newly plastered bathroom ceiling and did a fantastic job. Great communication from start to finish. John gave great advice and even painted the bathroom door frame which made a big difference to the overall look of the bathroom. Highly recommend, thank you so much.

John decorated my outside canopy and support beams. The work was long overdue, and required a lot of preparation. End result - fantastic, and really lifts the look of the front of the house. John is highly recommended, and I will be using his services in the future.

John is a very kind and honest gentleman. He couldn't come out to give me a quote for my house as he is very busy at this moment in time. However, he spent nearly an hour guiding me on my project, showing me how to source a good local painter and sharing many golden nuggets that he has picked up during his time in the profession. He went above and beyond even though couldn't take on the job.

John decorated my kitchen, utility, office ceiling and orangery after significant building works. He did a brilliant job joining old and new plaster, and painting a much lighter colour. His advice is top notch, the quality of his work excellent, reliable and very easy to get on with. I will not hesitate to use his services in future. Thanks

I have been in the building trade for 30 years and John is one of the very best decorators I have ever used I would highly recommend him

I got in touch with John as I was keen to have my front door and canope repainted. Upon contacting John he was efficient, friendly and informative. Despite his busy schedule, John came to do the job on the weekend and he did not disappoint. Upon meeting John he was punctual, which was fantastic and I knew instantly that he was going to be brilliant. John repainted my door from black to a beautiful Sage green (see photos - a colour recommended by himself - which I am so happy I was guided with as the results were beautiful) John’s natural ability, skills & attention to detail was 10/10, he treated my front door as if he was painting his own and added all the finishing touches. John definitely went the extra mile and I would definitely class him as a professional perfectionist who clearly takes pride in his work. If you are looking for someone fantastic at their job and really friendly - this is your man, me and my partner thought he was lovely and would not hesitate to use him again in the future. Thanks again John for the hard work we absolutely love the transformation of our front door ☺️☺️ Laura & Matt

I have used JC Decorators before, they are the quintessential professionals in all aspects of top quality domestic and commercial decorating. From the minute John Clinton entered my home I knew that, once again, I was in good hands. Pleasant to chat to about achieving exactly what I wanted. I am delighted with my bedroom from the erecting of new cove to the paintwork and the lovely gloss finish on the woodwork. I would stress that JC Decorators are the cleanest workers I have encountered. I would very strongly recommend this company.

JC Decorators have just painted our bathroom and kitchen and did an excellent job. Reliable, professional and high quality.

Excellent job. Very professional. Very pleased with standard of work

This is the third time I have used JC Decorators. Once again John did the job when he said he would and at the price quoted. The painting and decorating is always to a high standard and the finished work looks great. On top of that John did extra, smaller jobs - fitting a blind and a curtain rail - that saved me time. Highly recommended.

John decorated my lounge, which I didn't have the confidence to do myself as it's quite large. John did a professional, clean job and explained each stage along the way, passing on a few tips that has given me the confidence to tackle the small jobs elsewhere in my house on my own. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend JC Decorators to anyone who wants a friendly professional service. Excellent.

We were delighted with the work that JC decorators did at our school. It was a difficult job to decorate 4 of our classrooms which were desperately in need of some tlc. The rooms now look fresh and welcoming. Thank you.

JC Decorators always do a fantastic job. They have decorated all of our house. They always do an impeccable job with real attention to detail. John and his team are professional, friendly and very knowledgable. I would recommend them to anybody.

John and his team where excellent from start to finish. It was a large scale decoration project including walls, woodwork, doors and hanging feature wallcoverings for a large office refurbishment. John and his team were well mannered, consciencious of other trades on site as well as accommodating any requests given. Overall value for money was excellent and would have no hesitation recommending John and his team in the future and will certainly work with them again
