Excellent service provided by APL. I phoned on a Friday afternoon needing urgent lock changed and repairs and they were out to me within an hour. The guy was really helpful and showed me the safety features of the locks he was installing and had them fitted in a jiffy! Would definitely use this business again and have recommended to many friends.

Helped fixed/replace parents old car with a worn down ignition with the physical key no longer fitting in. The car had to be abandoned mid heatwave when the key was blocked trying to reinsert into the ignition after shopping. A gentlemen from the AA had recommended APL for this particular job and they came out onsite to replace the ignition with a new cut key the following working day. Overall very happy and consider them reliable for future emergency's.

Very honest & professional tradesmen. I called them to look at a complicated bifold door problem that needed a bifold door specialist in the end. Dave from APL stayed for an hour to investigate the issue and refused payment saying that he "couldn't solve the problem, so there's no charge".

These guys are amazing! Both car keys stopped working & mazda were going to charge £350 plus needed a breakdown truck. APL had a look at both keys & fixed them. Charged me £7.50. All sorted within 10 minutes!

After originally ringing ‘emergencylocksmith24’ they told us over the phone it would be £49 call out fee and £35 for a new lock, they then turned up and said it would be £300+ on arrival. We sent these scammers away and got in touch with APL who were quick to arrive and managed to get us back in literally under 1 minute, with no drilling or new lock whatsoever. Great service I will always recommend these from now on ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

From initial contact with the boss Anthony by email, the guys in the shop Joe and Marc got me sorted. They suggested bringing in my second hand tool chest which was open but missing keys, even though the lock had a number stamped on it. I left it with them in the shop for a couple of hours and they emailed me when the keys were ready. I will recommend them to anyone within driving distance of Stockport over messing around with Timpsons.

A really excellent service from Tony! After numerous calls to soulless '24/7' locksmiths who were evasive on costs and sounded like they were out to take advantage of someone in a difficult situation (Timpsons included!), I was really happy to find a decent, local locksmith. Communication was excellent and Tony arranged a locksmith to attend my property within a couple of hours on a Saturday afternoon. The job was quick and easy (almost alarmingly so 👀), and I was back in my house within 10 minutes - no hassle at all. Further to this, I also used APL to have another spare key cut - the service was above and beyond, with the new key dropped off at my home in his own time. Amazing service this morning, car ignition wasn't starting. RAC told us we need a complete new key and barrel but APL we're able to fix it with a new key blade in 5 minutes!

I was recommended to phone APL to get a new ignition fitted and on phoning the company the man who I spoke to diagnosed it over the phone and asked me to call in to get the ignition switch replaced, the old one was a mess. He had it fixed in no time and starting like a new car, the price was very fair. They're a great company to deal with, the members of staff are very freindly and decent. I had heard some great remarks from several people over the years about the company and staff and I wasn't disappointed at all.

I rang my local garage to see if they could fix my dodgy ignition on my Ford Transit Custom van. They redirected me to APL locksmiths. Mark took my phone call and asked if I could drop my van off in a couple of days time, and if I took it at 8.30am it could be fixed in under 1 and a half hours. I did everything he asked, and my van was fixed within the hour. So happy with the results, thank you Mark. If I could give you 10 stars I would.

I booked Tony’s mobile car key cutting service, to make a spare ignition key for my BMW E46 320 CD SE (05) with the diamond key. He came at the arranged time, removed the immobiliser, read the chip, programmed the immobiliser in the new key. Cut the new key, tested it in the door, and ignition. Replaced the immobiliser in the car & re assembled it all. Excellent service

Excellent service! I recently bought a property in the area which had no window keys and all the windows were locked. I thought I would have to pay for a locksmith to come out and cut specific keys for me. Luckily, at APL they have a bundle of all the possible master keys for windows for every manufacturer and I found the correct key which I was then able to get cut. The prices are super affordable and I highly recommend!

Dont really leave reviews but this guy is a legend. My van got broken into over christmas. I was desperate for someone to secure my van as some little scumbags had snapped my lock. Tbh I could of been ripped right off as I was desperate with my van being open and unsecured. Absolutely superb service. We had a problem with the ignition barrel on our Note car and were about to go on a foreign driving holiday so were totally stressed out. We contacted APL and made an appointment for the next day and they did a wonderful repair on the ignition and the 2 car keys. We can now drive safely on the continent thanks to them. However they identified that there was no remnants of key remaining and the lock only needed lubricant which they did I was willing to pay but they made no charge. Decent and honest. APL provided an excellent service for my Mother. Her front door lock had broken and they managed to come the same day to fix it. Very pleased with the service. Two days later she had a problem with the back door lock, they came to look at it and found it was only a loose screw causing the problem. They sorted it for her with no charge. Called APL at midnight to sort, what we thought was a broken Yale lock, we had in fact been locked out by our comatosed uni kid. Dave was super friendly and very patient and got us in and changed 2 locks all for a very reasonable price. We don't often have to use locksmith's but we certainly won't be going anywhere else in the future. I would highly recommend APL to anyone.

I contacted APL locksmiths after the transponder in my car key stopped working and I was unable to drive my car with the original key. They told me to come down and they will have a look at it. My experience with APL Locksmiths was so good I almost hope to get locked out of my car again! After getting the run-around by various other auto locksmiths who said they would charge me £120 to break my window and maybe fix it, APL guaranteed a fix for far less with no broken window, and they kept that promise. Really helpful. Cheapest price I could find to replace a lost car key. There was an issue that meant he needed to order a new part, but he left me with a spare non-remote key until he could come back and threw it in for free once he got the remote one working.

A perfect response to an emergency today - on a Sunday lunchtime. My 97year old neighbour had fallen and we couldn't gain access with the keys we had as the lock had jammed. Tony came and helped my daughter fix her car ignition lock. Someone had tried to steal the car and all the wires and car lock were hanging out and not working. He was amazing and was able to fix the lock and charged a very fair price. Would definitly recommed.

Genuinely impressed with this service. Fair price, quick and no new lock needed. Having just been let into my house after a miscommunication with a tradesman saw me locked out, I now realise the last locksmith I used must have been a cowboy. He drilled the lock off, made loads of mess, took ages and charged about £260, including call out new lock and keys etc. APL got us in the house; with no mess, no fuss and and without needing a new lock, in about 5 minutes. It cost £120inc vat. He used a special device to unlock the door through the letter box. Also he was a super nice friendly guy

APL locksmiths went above and beyond to help today. I locked my keys in my boot!! Never done this felt so stupid deadlock everything mercedes so thought would cost me and arm and a leg and they was so reasonable and come out to me within the hour. I wouldn't have been able to get in my house spare key 500 miles away with my partner. I can not thank Tony enough. Really helpful guy who helped me and what seemed like 6 other people at the same time all without feeling like I was made to wait at all. The guy was friendly, very knowledgeable and really helpful. My previous experiences of key cutting here are all good. So I asked them to solve a sticking door problem. After a couple of diagnostic phone calls to define the problem he thought that door realignment was the most likely action required. He visited and sprayed a little WD40 on the door and it was fine. No door relignment was done. I consider that the charge of £78 to be excessive, even including the phone calls. When I pointed that out, given that the work had taken approximately 5 minutes , he said that some engineers travel from Stockport. I had to ask if the work was guaranteed, as he made to leave. He then replied that it was. I repeat, the service provided was satisfactory but £78 for a local visit of 5 minutes, even acknowledging his expertise and the preceeding phone calls which may have suggested to him that the door just needed oiling, does seem excessive.

I snapped the only key I had to my 28 year old Volvo. Half the the key ended up in the barrel of the glove box lock which I removed and took to APL. They got the broken key out of the lock without any damage and made me another set up the same day without any problems I’m happy to say my beloved car is back on my driveway. Thank you so much for all your help today, I really do appreciate everything you did to help me.

Wanted 3 Star Diamond Security locks for all doors. Phoned and arrived straight away. Fitted 3 locks in 15 mins - all great. Locksmith found some old damage to cover on keypoint on front door. Locksmith (at no extra charge) sourced some rare old screws, came back later in the week, fitted replacement for damaged screws. Locksmith called and texted me to confirm EVERYTHING. Sound as a pound! Very high standard.

Had a break-in at my home a couple weeks ago, & was left with unusable locks on the my french doors by a shoddy emergency locksmith sent out. So having read the other reviews here-I decided to call APL to see what I needed to do. Really nice guy on the phone, helpful & upfront about fee’s. Locksmith attended my home today, on time, really friendly & clearly knew what he was doing. My doors weren’t a quick fix (from the break-in & dodgy locksmith before him!) but he happily & willingly persevered, & even helped me fit an additional security measure (I have purchased separately) for the doors he was working on-which was hugely appreciated! He made sure I knew how to use it, get it off quickly etc. I haven’t stayed at home with my children in over 2 weeks due to fears of being vulnerable to another break in, or being trapped & unable to exit the house-so all the more grateful in knowing our home is now properly secured, & doors/exits functioning safely. Highly recommended local business.

I needed some house keys cut and a new ignition key for my van. The man said it would be £60 for the car key and £4.50 for the house keys. I thought this was reasonable. When I got there there was a long line and the the man was tireless in his efforts to serve us in a timely fashion while adhering to social distancing rules. My van is an import and he tried one key before finding the solution. He found an ignition key that worked for only £10. Result. Had a takeaway with all the money I didn't spend. Thanks.

I rang APL at 8-30 this morning as I needed my front porch lock attending too, the guy I spoke to was extremely helpful. I asked if it could be done first thing and he said it would be done before 12-00, he gave me a price on a repair and or a new lock. After reading reviews online, I booked APL Locksmiths to come and change the locks on a property I purchased. Anthony was super helpful in providing quotations and arranging dates/times. They could be twins separated at birth but he's definitely a serial reviewer looking at his name card it's looks like he's trying to earn money off his reviews and we all know what money does to some people don't we???? APL are now my one stop shop for all my locks keys and security problems and I never hesitate in recommending them to any one. In fact my neighbour's were burgled over the weekend and their spare car keys were taken. Anthony came tonight and supplied a new spare remote and reprogrammed the car on site and cheaper than the main dealer quoted. Win win all round. Most of the work they do for me and for the people I send is high tech vehicle stuff that will cost much much at the main dealers but they've never ever said no to any of the jobs or work so that's 10 out of 10 service for me. I'd award them 10 star service based on all the customers I've sent and all my business I've done with them. Keep up the good work guys.

I had an actual nightmare and somehow locked my car with my baby inside. Tony from APL arrived really quickly and had the car open in seconds. He was absolutely lovely and as a bonus there was no damage to the car. My baby and I are both very grateful to this great guy. Thanks again.

I phoned earlier today, as my key had broken off in the lock and then when I put the rest of the key in, that stuck too and wouldn't come out! I spoke to Anne Marie who was incredibly accommodating and it turned out they had a locksmith in this area today, and so were able to send him to me without charging an emergency call out fee. The locksmith, John, couldn't have been more pleasant, professional and efficient and amazingly my lock has already been changed and all is well again. Couldn't recommend enough.

Great guys at apl, very reliable and keep in touch and let you know when they will be with you. Lost my transit key and came out to me and replaced it with a fob one which makes life so much easier. Even helped me start the van and noticed I had a problem due to been sat. Cant recommend enough especially after the bad service I had from another so called locksmith who couldn't do the job and charged a small fortune. Wonderful Locksmith! Arrived on time, fixed the issue quickly and told me what I needed to know. Needed a new BMW key, so purchased a replacement; its better than the original because you can change the battery, so no messing around when the time comes to recharge. Highly Recommended!

Can't thank APL locksmiths enough for what they did for me when I lost ( possibly stolen) my car key. I was recommended to call them by motor move who took my car in to storage and I am glad I did. my breakdown cover couldn't get my car sorted until 2 days later, these guys did it the next day and a better rate (but said had they known the night before when it happened they would have come straight round to do it there and then). As a single mother to a 20 month old they really helped me out and put my mind at ease. So so grateful. Thank you!

Friendly, experienced and capable locksmiths! After an initial hiccup regarding my appointment date & time (hence 4 stars), this issue was resolved to my satisfaction after some excellent customer service from John. John was also the one who came to remove a broken door security lock, replace 3 other security locks and replace a mortice lock. He did so efficiently and as quickly as possible (despite the broken lock proving problematic) and cleared up after he had finished. Overall very satisfied with the service that I received and would recommend highly.

Use no other. I was after a repair/replacement for my car key. The repair didn't work (no fault of APL,these things happen) leaving me with a key that wouldn't start the car. The gentleman at APL ,without hesitation, offered me a brand new key at no additional cost to myself over the very reasonable cost of the repair. I got the new key the next day. You couldn't ask for more,there's a reason this firm gets nothing but 5 star reviews.

Fantastic service! Recommended by my garage I went in to enquire about my car remote which stopped working. Ford quoted me around £140, saying it needed replacing. APL helped me out after another locksmith was going to seriously overcharge me for a part after one of my doors at the back of the house wouldn't lock. The APL locksmith knew exactly what was going on, made sure I was aware of the costs upfront and left only when he was finished.
