Finding this locksmith was great, they were so helpful but also very experienced and knowledgeable. My lock was broken and they ordered in one for me to fit to my door, rather than insisting they come and do it themselves so I could save money. My previous locksmith fitted a cool looking handle which had a massive keyhole and looks awful. I wish I had used Abbey then. I'll only use them from now on. I highly recommend!

From the initial visit to the work being carried out, Abbey Gate provided an efficient and professional service. Excellent. I was informed of the arrival time. Spot on! The issue was a UPVc living room door that would not open with the key. Perry assessed the problem not to be the lock but the set up of the adjustable door hinges. He adjusted the hinges and afterwards treated the mechanism with penetrating/lubricating fluid. Once done he then cleaned up everything leaving it spotless. A job well done. Conscientious, hard working, professional and very personable. Should I need a locksmith again the Perry will be my first choice.

I love collecting vintage items that are rich in history.I have a 2 lever padlock that belonged to my husband's grandfather.The only information I had on it was that it was made in Britain.I spent many hours searching the internet for information on it ( how old it is etc) but found nothing.In my search I came across Abbey Gate Locksmiths.I live in South Africa so I thought I would give it a try and email them.Steve responded to my email timeously and gave his opinion that it was most likely from the 1st World War which is amazing considering it still works.I was so impressed that Steve had taken the time to respond to my email.Really appreciate the great service. I called Abbey Gate a month or so ago for an issue with the locking mechanism on the back door. They came out within 15 minutes to take a look. Perry was very helpful and polite, he gave me a run down of where the issue might be, took the mechanism apart and gave me two options on how to fix it. He went back to the warehouse, got the part and the door was fixed the same day. Also Perry advised due to where the door is, if it is left open the door can drop so I should be careful leaving it open for a long period. Great service and friendly. Would use again.

Really impressed with the service. It wasn’t an emergency but they still came out the next day with the right parts and changed the lock quickly. Left spare keys too. I would recommend sending a photo of the lock when you contact them to make it easier.

I contacted Abbey Gate yesterday very worried as I had lost my house keys. They were knowledgeable, professional, friendly and put me at ease straight away. They also gave me helpful advice on checking with my insurer as to what type of lock they required to ensure my policy would stay valid. My brother and I were visiting our retired mum this morning. My oaf of a brother somehow managed to hulk the door closed despite it being on the latch - destroying the lock in the door and leaving us locked out!! Door handle was spinning around and multipoint lock wasn't working. Luckily I was inside the house and could open the door. Chap came out in no time. Diagnosed the problem. Fixed it there and then. Door lock absolutely sound and working perfectly. Glad I chose a proper approved locksmith. Honest, fair pricing (not a rip-off merchant). Will 100% definitely use them again in the future. Steve delt with our emergency with a broken garage door in a speedy, professional manner. He was extremely helpful, calm and managed to complete the job quickly, and we would wholeheartedly recommend the company, and use the company again. Absolutely brilliant!

I had a problem with my uPVC door lock. Thought I could fix it myself by changing the barrel, but no. Time to stop messing with it - don't want to break something! I called these guys, and they gave me an idea what the fault might be and quoted their rates (very reasonable). The guy turned up when he said, wearing facemask etc etc, and had it sorted in half an hour, with no parts required. I chose Abbey Gate as they are members of the Master Locksmiths Association - there's a lot of cowboys out there, so it's worth looking for someone reputable who won't 'build the job up' or rip you off. I'd recommend these people to anybody.

Great service, reasonable pricing. They even cared enough to go back to the office to pickup a lock that matches my door. Would definitely recommend. UPDATE: I had an issue with lock, it wasn't broken it just needed some tlc, I got in contact with them explaining my issue. They replied quickly, with an easy solution which worked a treat. A year on from purchase and they still give great customer service.

Excellent service. We used Abbey Gate Locksmiths to replace a very old and insecure lock on our wooden front door. We were after a similar sized lock that would be up to insurance standards and cause minimal redecoration. I would say our expectations were exceeded with the lock replaced within 1 hour this morning and no holes to fill in. I would not hesitate to recommend this company. We contacted Abbey Gate Locksmiths for advice and help with a quote following an extortionate bill and terrible encounter with rapid-locksmiths.co.uk. Abbey Gate were very responsive and kind and gave us a quotation and sound advice. Abbey Gate have shown that we were overcharged by a phenomenal amount by rapid-locksmiths.co.uk (who are in fact NOT Rapid Locksmiths in Sheffield). Rapid Locksmiths charged us £440 for a job which was at max chargeable at £106 plus vat !!! Thanks to Abbey Gate and other MLA registered locksmiths for helping us to put a stop to rapid-locksmiths.co.uk who threatened us in our own home to make us pay. We will definitely be using Abbey Gate in the future.

6.45pm get locked out . 6.50pm call Steve Underwood of Abbey Gate Locksmiths 6.59pm IN ! !!!! This man is a LEGEND !!! On the night of the England World Cup Game too. Steve has also fitted a security back door to my garage exit at home. I feel so much more safer knowing I have this and I can now leave my house from the rear without having to open the garage . As with all new doors and locks sometimes they take a few weeks to “settle in” and Steve has been back to make the necessary adjustment when this happened with my door so it opens and shuts with a perfect fit to the frame . Nothing is too much trouble for Steve, He always has a smile on his face and has a cracking sense of humour . Steve is awesome . I wouldn’t go anywhere else .

If Carlsberg sent out locksmiths, they would send out Steve exclusively. Not just a locksmith, but a true engineer. The skill this guy possesses is outstanding. He brings a complete workshop with him, not only did he get us back into our conservatory , he improved the locking mechanism, where it is MORE secure.
