We have just had a new patio installed at our daughter's house. Johnathan and his amazing team did a fantastic job transforming an uneven, untidy, unattractive area into a beautiful patio which will be used all year round. Johnathan was a pleasure to work with, giving a detailed cost breakdown and a timetable for the delivery of materials. Everything was carried out as promised and on schedule. The team were professional, knowledgeable, dedicated, courteous and hard working. It was a pleasure to work with them and they have made a space that will be used by the family for many years to come. Thank you Jonathan & team.
What a nice bunch of blokes they seemed, always smiling and generally very personable. They agreed to do some landscaping for me and provide an on-going maintenance service. They set to work and installed sleepers and border edging to what seemed to be an, "OK" standard. They said that they could prune a field maple tree and when they did, they made a complete mess of it nearly, killing it. (So far it has cost £390 to save the tree.) Then, after payment, came more problems. They hardly ever replied to phone calls or e mails and it took them months to even part complete the job. My first invoice was on 3/12/24 and the last 24/4/25 together valued at £2892. Despite all my efforts to get them to fulfil their obligations the jobs remain unfinished. Much of their work proved to be of poor quality and will have to be re-done. Whatever you do, AVOID THIS BUNCH!
Impressive from start to finish. We would highly recommend Jonathan and are delighted with our patio. A very professional job, tailored to our requirements, delivered ahead of predicted completion date and with excellent communication throughout.
We were really pleased with the work that Jonathan and his team did. The fencing was not in the easiest of areas but they have made it look professional and we are thrilled with the patio. All rubbish was cleared away and they let us know exactly what was going on as it was over a couple of weeks. Would definitely use again.
Worse than unprofessional. Kept promising to get a quote to us and never delivered. Pathetic really. If you don't feel capable of doing a job just be honest.
J Cook landscaping provided a wonderful service. I contacted Jonathan, he came promptly and gave us a quote for what we required. We decided quickly, to give him the work because of his friendly and professional manner but also some very good recommendations from our friends, we then paid a deposit and was booked in. The company happened to be very busy at the time for obvious reasons, but gave us a date and stuck to it. The job was to clear our old patio and decking and replace this with a newer version. My wife and I are absolutely thrilled with the end product and was done very professionally and in a competent way. This has given us a lovely garden to enjoy this summer. Jonathan and his staff were punctual and pleasant, but also well mannered even in some dreadful English weather. Unprofessional and unreliable. In early February 2021 we agreed a price and time frame for work to be done by Jonathan which he would start in May 2021. The work was for a gravel drive, path, back patio, fencing, front step, and gate. We agreed a clear payment profile. Jonathan raised no concerns and agreed to the works, price, and payment schedule. Jonathan then delayed the work at the last minute and a few days before he was due to start the job, he tried to change the agreed payment profile. I was upfront an honest with him from the start about this payment schedule and he raised no concerns at the time or for the next 3 months. As such, I wanted to understand why he wanted to change it. If Jonathan was unhappy with payment terms, price, or work, he had 3 months in which to let me know but instead he left it until a few days before the work started this is unprofessional. I suggested a call or chat in person as I wanted to understand his concerns and come to a sensible position. However, instead of speaking about why he wanted to change the payment schedule he simply said he would not be able to do our job anymore due to the payment schedule. I said that I would be happy to discuss the payment schedule but he would not discuss it with me and said job was cancelled. We were not rude just wanting to understand why the last-minute change. The work was agreed months in advance, and we had spent £2,000 on materials (which we had at our property) and I had booked time off work. Jonathan was the one who changed the position last minute and then lets us down big time by cancelling job leaving us with thousands of pounds in materials and having to try and find someone new with little time. This is poor and not professional. Myself and my family feel very let down. I am really upset as we had a few quotes of which Jonathan was not the cheapest and we went with him as he seemed at the time friendly and trustworthy. I have now lost these other quotes and they are fully booked. I have had a lot of work undertaken at my property over the last years and have never had an issue with a job being cancelled like this and I have also been flexible and paid on time.
Fro the outset Jonathan was clear, responsive & attentive. His workforce, led by him were polite, helpful, great timekeeping & cheerful despite horrendous wet weather throughout the project. There is some small amount of snagging to do regarding this phase of the project but generally we are very pleased with the work completed. Phase two of the project will come in spring 2021 where the entire project will be completed. I can heartily recommend J. Cook landscaping for any gardening work you maybe considering.
I am so pleased I found J Cook Landscapes! Jonathan and his team were friendly and hardworking and did a great job - we are really pleased with the work completed. Will definitely use J Cook Landscapes in the future and would definitely recommend to others.
