British Gas capped off my boiler during their service visit saying it was unsafe and I needed a new one (followed up two hours later by a salesman recommending a £4.5k replacement) - I found Billy via Google as he was local to me - asked him to check things out - he visited very promptly and advised that the boiler was fine and reconnected it, supplying a gas safety certificate. He easily could have sold me a new boiler so I found very refreshing that he gave me the all clear - will definitely be keeping his number and cancelling my British Gas Service contract. Only my wife was in at time of visit, she said he was polite and respectful, explaining things fully.

Bill and his colleague replaced a faulty kitchen tap for us. It turned out it wasn't a straightforward job as it seemed because of the design of the sink. I appreciated their hard work and excellent workmanship, getting it done quickly. They even made an effort to hoover the under sink before they left. My review below is for the SCAMMERS using this business' name incorrectly! I chose this company due to the high rating and recommendations in the local area (now I realise it isn't local to me, but they confirmed they covered my area). Firstly, once I had booked, I received no confirmation via text or email, so had to rely on verbal confirmation over the phone upon booking. Then, on the day, after booking a 3-4pm appointment, I had no contact whatsoever, and come 4pm, after having no one turn up, I rung up, to be told the engineer was late and they couldn't get ahold of them. The lady on the phone said she'd ring me back once she'd managed to get ahold of the engineer (which she didn't). If it wasn't for me calling, I would not have known, as I received zero contact from the company themselves. The engineer never turned up. I rang about 5 times, and only by 6:15pm did I have a definite answer that the engineer had a personal emergency, after I suggested I find another company to help me. I was also promised a callback from a manager, which never happened. Then, at 6:30pm I had a call back to ask if I still needed my engineer today??? After being told they couldn't come out and I have rebooked for the following day?? (Also, the rebook for the following day did not arrive either, after many promises from the lady on the phone that they would be here!!!) it was only after cancelling at 10:30am the following day that I got a call back my the engineer to explain the circumstances. The phone number linked to 'Comfy Heating' also answered with the name '24hr heating Services' which just added to my confusion. I have also tried to call other 'local' companies, but it is the same people who answer, so it seems like a lot of 'local' companies are using a centralised call centre? I could be wrong, but the service from them was appalling. I appreciate that some things are out of certain control, but my expectations was extremely poor!!

Contacted comfy plumbing for somebody yo repair a leaking mains water supply pipe. Leak being adjacent to water meter and in driveway. Told they had people loxal to me and price for callout with first hour labour. Also said that somebody would be at my house in 1 hour. 2.1/2 hours later, no show, no call to advise. Phoned to cancel.

Billy is the best plumber we've finally been able to find - and we've tried a few ! Billy was knowledgable even during first contact over the phone. We had multiple issues including the shower hot water not working and the cold taps upstairs not working but being ok downstairs. Billy methodically problem solved sharing his 30+ yrs experience along the way giving us confidence that proved well founded. Problem was fixed and at a very reasonable price. He also diagnosed some boiler issues we'd been having while he was here. We know who we're calling next time we need any kind of plumbing work done.

Great service as usual. Found a leak on our water cylinder on Sunday night and Bill and Si were round the next day to have a look. Cylinder needed replacing and it was all sourced and completed by Wednesday afternoon. Price was reasonable and work was carried out to the usual high standard. Can also confirm that Comfy Heating & Plumbing is indeed a family business and having done business with them over the last 5 years there has never been a call centre in sight!

Great service overall! I initially wanted a standard boiler service but luckily Billy detected a small leak I hadn’t noticed and probably wouldn’t have done for a while. Earlier in the year the manufacturer had supplied a faulty replacement part for our boiler. We were delighted with how thoroughly, and quickly, Billy obtained a replacement part and fitted it in the boiler under his 12 months guarantee. Despite our offering to contribute to his costs, he refused to take any money.
