I’ve just witnessed one of their drivers almost kill a cyclist, collide with an oncoming car and stick a middle finger up at another road user. All within the space of 3 minutes. Note to driver: if you are going to engage in extremely dangerous driving and demonstrate aggressive road rage, it might be an idea to do so when you’re not driving a van with your employer’s name emblazoned on the side of your van…

boiler service and filter change

I seem to always see my previous comments when this feedback page arrives. So I have deleted Zak, as it was presumably Mark this time who resolved in seconds a problem caused by a British Gas engineer who came to service e the boiler (for the last time I should add) and, acting he said in instructions fro, BG, turned the temperature up to maximum, which cause the boiler to cease functioning and in his opinion, needing a spare part. An automated return date appeared for late June (!). I tortured my patience going through an interminable phone help system before finally reaching a human being who told me to get a plumber of my choice to fix the problem and send them to bill. Mark arrived and literally fixed it within seconds, there being a reset button which presumably was unknown the BG engineer.. Central heating restored just in time for the heatwave!!

Having located Spartan Mechanical ltd via Checkatrade with a request to fix a heating problem with my Airflow Heating system, they were quick to respond and emailed me within 48 hrs with an appointment to attend my home should i accept their service. Since communicating with Spartan i was kept informed of my appointment and even updated that their engineer could attend my home earlier than the appointed time if i was available, which i was. I found the engineer (Mark Thomas) to be very polite and professional and he fixed my problem quickly and efficiently. in addition, the engineer provided excellent advice with regards to my heating system which i found to be very helpful and informative. including the costs to rectify my heating problem, which i found to be reasonable, i consider that my dealings with the engineer and the company to be excellent and would highly recommend their services.

Have recently employed Spartan to renew/replace water tank/pipework in the loft of the bungalow my Mum moved into a couple of months ago. My son-in-law put me on to Ashley as he was very happy with work done by them last year. From the start they were really good! Easy to contact by phone and friendly and efficient ladies in the office. Very helpful, friendly and courteous. My Mum was very impressed, especially with the cleaning up afterwards. Ashley explained everything and took 'before' and 'after' photos which is useful if you don't want to climb up to take a look yourself! All in all, a job well done. I have called out Spartan to an intermittent hot water issue ( the heating did work fine) with our combi boiler in January. They were prompt and attended at the agreed time. However while the engineer was out and did make some tests on our boiler it did broke down. So we not just lost our hot water fully , but also our heating in the middle of the winter when possible was the coldest time of the year! I have been told the heat pump broke while the engineer did do his testing, but according to them that has nothing to do with my boiler to break down( which I do not believe, what is the chance your boiler accidentally breaks down just at the time when an engineer works on it …) And they kindly send me a bill of £270 for braking my boiler, they also quoted the pump to be replaced with the note saying this will not fix my intermittent hot water fault ( then why was it offered , not sure) for around £600 and a quote for a boiler replacement £2800, but of course even if I would decided to replace the boiler they still would add the extra £270 for basically leaving me with a broken boiler. Of course I have choose another company to fit a new boiler, but I was fighting for my right not to pay the £270, for leaving me with a broken boiler! However Spartan was adamant if I don’t pay they will go legal. To keep the peace with my girlfriend I ended up paying a “massively” discounted price of £205. But thought I will share my story as according to google, the company has great reviews which lead me to use them which I deeply regret. I definitely do not recommend them and will not used them again.

Very disappointed in the work and aftercare on phase two of our extension (bathroom installation and plumbing/heating installation in garage/utility area). Measurements were taken incorrectly for bathroom installation and corrections left a poor fix on the brand new plasterwork. Communication about expected timescales was lacking (poor response time) which resulted in the work taking far longer than expected. Pipes in the garage roof space were not lagged resulting in a burst pipe just before new year. A shame as we'd been very happy with work on phase one (different company name at the time).

I have used Spartan Plumbing & Heating for boiler services and to rectify two issues with a new build property in Camberley. First class service on all occasions. The engineers have always arrived on time. More recently, on return from 4 week vacation, I discovered an issue with my boiler and Spartan were able to send an engineer within 20mins of calling the office. The engineers are knowledgable, diligent, clearly record what has been checked and tested on each visit, and work very tidy in your home. Would recommend to anyone in the area.

We had Spartan install a new shower, conduct a boiler service and expansion vessel service. We also had a new thermostat installed for our under floor electric heating, which we wont be using due to the outrageous cost of energy, Id rather sit in the Dark and cold than prop up profits for a the energy companies that are feeling no financial pain at all whilst the consumer suffers and they post record profits. Spartan were very good and I have used them for multiple years for that reason. I would highly recommend them.

Excellent service to repair our faulty boiler. Came out within two hours of contacting them on a Saturday. Quickly diagnosed the problem and required parts. Communication from office was superb, kept in contact every step of the way. Engineer came out first thing Monday morning and repaired the boiler and carried out a service. Clean, tidy and courteous. Provided a quote for the job in advance and total price was at the lower end of the quote due to the engineer working quickly and efficiently. Excellent service

Booking the plumber and dealing with the office staff was painless and very efficient. The plumber very quickly fixed the plumbing issues, he had to remove some boxing around the toilet to do so. Despite promising to fix it "so you wouldn't even know it had been removed" the job he did on my boxing was incredibly shoddy. In fairness to Spartan, they sent him back the next day and he made it a little better but far from perfect. I had to spent the rest of the day making it good myself. On top of that they charged me £50 + VAT for a toilet connector that couldn't have been any more than £20 from Screwfix. I expect them to add a markup, but over double is very steep. If you have a simple plumbing job with no woodwork / plasterwork then Spartan would be fantastic - just be mindful they won't be able to do any extra bits as well as the plumbing work. Also if you can avoid them buying your parts, make sure you do so!

Having used the services of a number of plumbers over the years I have had some bad experiences. This was the first time I used Spartan and I was very happy with the service. Good communication and proper information about the charges before work. £80 for first hour and £50 next hours for plumbing sounds reasonable but I paid £96 including tax for just 10 minutes inspection for a possible water leak which wasn't even identified or rectified. That's why I feel the rates are bit high if we need to do a small repair or check.

Spartan came out to do some investigatory works on our water tanks. They sorted the problem efficiently and patiently answered all my questions. When I needed further clarification via email they were very prompt and happy to help.

My mother is 95 and fragile. Her kitchen cold water tap stopped working, thus depriving her of drinking water. In answer to my email, Spartan came out same day and replaced the ceramic washers in both cold and hot taps as a precaution. Job done. Polite, knowledgable service and not for the first time. An engineer was at our house 3 hours after phoning for an appointment to fix our hot water system. He was professional and courteous, isolated the issue almost immediately and had it fixed within 30 minutes. Great service. We called them at 13.30, very friendly staff who arranged for an engineer to be with us by 17.00. They stayed until job was done (nearly 3 hours). Reasonable rates, reliable. Very pleased.

Very friendly staff. Professional and helpful. Zak attended our call out and was very helpful. He repaired the toilet and carried out other checks before leaving just to make sure everything was working OK. Would definatley use this service again and recommend.

Very much satisfied with the service and the repair works carried out. They were able to sort out the heating at the property in a prompt and orderly manner. Staff that came over were also polite and kindly accomodated our query to sort out a radiator that wasn’t heating up.

Complete new bathroom installed. All different workers arrived when booked and everything was done efficiently. We were kept informed of progress and changes all the way and our input was listened to. We would recommend them to anyone needing these kind of services and have booked them again to replace our cloakroom downstairs.

From start to finish I was really impressed with all aspects of service from Spartan. After the boiler had been installed a plumber returned a week later for a courtesy check up, and they took care of submitting the guarantee forms too, which was helpful.

Spartan Plumbing were very efficient in all email communications , whilst providing a complete estimate/ quotation. Once I had agreed to move forward the engineers were all very respectful, polite and professional. All wore PPE and took their shoes off as it was obvious that the house had been recently redecorated. Spartan team took their time in explaining the works to be carried out, advised on what would look good and really took their time to acheive a professional finish. At no point did I feel they rushed the job and took their time to achieve a high end look on the mastic and sealant work. All 3 thanked me for the tea & coffee and were a credit to the company. Will definitely use Spartan and their team for my plumbing needs in the future.

I called Spartan to come and review/fix a job which unfortunately was not completed properly by another plumber. We tried to save money, but as with most things you get what you pay for. We needed 2 new radiators and our shower fixed with a new door. From quoting (which was extremely reasonable) to fitting, there were professional, on time and always wanting to advise and support where ever possible. The work they have done to complete this job was better than I could have wished for. I will not be going any where else relating to heating, plumbing and bathrooms. Very rare to find a team that you all fully trust and deliver on everything that was promised. Would recommend their services in a heart beat. Thanks Spartan

I've used Spartan for a few years now to fix heating issues that arise and perform annual boiler services. I think the thing I like most about them is how respectful they are of their customers. One example of this is the boot covers they wear when they enter your home.

I used Spartan Plumbing & Heating Ltd due to having no hot water or heating, having two young children it was imperative I had this looked at asap.
