Very good service by Ben who replaced a piece of glass for us that had a big crack down the front. He measured the window hen came back with replacement Such a nice guy, also very professional, he cleaned up after fitting the glass. No fuss no bother would definitely recommend Sheerwater Glass.

Our Velux blind broke and Velux recommended Sheerwater Glass to repair it. A repair was not possible so a new blind was ordered. This proved to be faulty and also had to be replaced. Throughout this whole process, the staff at Sheerwater Glass were unfailingly helpful and supportive. A special shout-out to their lead service engineer Ruslan who had made repeated calls to our house and worked really hard to understand the problems with the faulty blinds and to resolve them. Cannot recommend them highly enough.

This review is for the on site service we received from Ruslan, who works for Sheerwater Glass. He visited our home twice. The first time was to install a new Velux Motor and Transformer for one of our skylights and to do the groundwork for a quote for new blinds. The wrong model of Velux Motor and Transformer had been delivered to Sheerwater Glass so could not be fitted. Today, Ruslan returned with the correct part and fitted it very quickly. He arrived in the first 20 minutes of our two hour slot and was very polite, clean and tidy. Thank you, Ruslan, for such great service.

tldr; Mistakes were made with the clean-up, the fitting itself was as expected. I had a patio door glass replaced after it was hit by a stone. The job timelines were miscommunicated with me being told 2 weeks which turned into 4-5 weeks. The glass and job itself were done as you would expect. When they removed the patio door to replace it they shattered the glass, they then did an appalling job at cleaning up leaving glass around the door, in my grass, down my side passage also leaving screwbits on the floor. I have since had a few conversations with Sheerwater Glass and received an apology discount.

Sheerwater Glass were the only company we found who could replace our patterned sand blasted glass in our front door. And it looks amazing. Nick who installed it was friendly, quick tidy work. Would highly recommend.

Nick came to swap the lock on the back door and front door, alter the mechanism of the front door so you can close the door without it locking, and realign the door so it opened and closed properly as the hinges had sagged. Nick turned up when expected and did a great job repairing the PVC windows in both our daughters bedrooms. There was a big gap on both windows which meant the rooms were difficult to heat but the are now both completely draft free. We have used Sheerwater Glass several times, and this time had a new back door fitted, to match patio doors installed in 2012. Two initial visits to quote and measure, and email updates on progress, then the door was fitted in a professional way, and all was left tidily.

The Sheerwater Glass team recently replaced all the uPVC windows in our house with a modern aluminium equivalent. The process was smooth throughout and communication was clear and timely. We’re very happy with the quality of the windows and the installation service. We ordered a complete set on new windows plus a new back door for a small house. The service was excellent. We obtained quotes from 3 different companies and Sheerwater's was the most detailed one. Specified very clearly the materials and specifications for the windows and what they would like would look like. When I visited their office to discuss (and get a feel for the company) their salesman, Nick was excellent. He clearly knew their products and process inside out. Answered all my questions fluently and clearly. They kept me fully informed of the process as it proceeded and were always helpful and courteous. The installer, Paul, was clearly very competent and also answered my questions clearly and patiently. And the finished product looks very good. Would definitely use them again.

Without doubt the go to people in this area for anything Window related. We had 2 new Windows installed and some repairs done to other Windows. Both separate jobs were completed with the utmost care and professionalism, with Zero mess left at all. Even after the upstairs windows were changed complete you would never have known the guys had been here all day doing it (apart from the new windows themselves !). Cannot recommend highly enough , very easy and polite to deal with on the phone, and the fitters are just excellent at what they do.

My second job with Sheerwater Glass. They provided a very reasonably priced repair for large double-pane panel that had failed, so when we decided to replace our front door, they were our first stop. After reviewing the options, having a survey and placing the order, we changed our minds on the insert panel and they were great in assisting us and getting the order updated. The door was ready within the estimated delivery timelines, and was installed in a few hours. The door is exactly what we were hoping for - but I was really impressed with the quality of the fitting which is to a much higher standard than the original door. Very happy overall and would happily recommend.

The company who originally manufactured the doors no longer had any parts so it was a very tricky job. Ruslan went above and beyond in sourcing parts and fitting them in freezing, snowy conditions. I ahve used Sheerwater Glass several times for work and have had outstanding service and excellent results each time. I recommend them to all my friends and use them myself when necessary.

I would recommend Sheerwater Glass. They recently supplied and fitted all the windows and doors for a total house renovation of my home in Surbiton. Damian the fitter was very courteous and happy to discuss any questions I asked and gave practical answers based on his experience with other customers. The few minor snagging issues which come with any project this scale were quickly addressed. The property was my original childhood home and I had requested some things like the original digits on the old door being set aside for me to keep and this was noted and actioned. Also Simon Sweet who was involved in the initial sales quotation was very responsive and understood my "vision" for the house. All the admin side of things was handled efficiently.

We have been using Sheerwater Glass for nearly twenty five years and their service has always been excellent. We had a door to be bricked up and three new windows to install. From the ever helpful Steve Smith, to Gary the builder and Damian the installer, we had great service. The installation and fitting was carried out with little mess or disruption. They may not be cheapest but you can guarantee an excellent product and first class service.

A couple of weeks ago, Sheerwater Glass came to do an installation of window shutters. The job was carried out very professionally (as always with this company). Paid £3,000 on new windows, and was told when I was first quoted that it would improve the buildup on condensation that I had on my windows (which was the primary reason I went ahead with the installation in the first place). Instead it is just as bad as it was before, in fact it has become worse. When I brought this up as part of their request for feedback, I was fobbed off and told to refer to their T&Cs. Needless to say won't be using them ever again.

Installation by Damian was excellent too and we was happy to return to make an adjustment to the door sill and to improve some minor pointing. I recently decided to renew the four windows and front door of my flat and contacted three local companies in the Woking area for quotes. A representative of each company visited the property while I was there and I received quotes by email a few days later. I found Sheerwater Glass stood out from the other two, in that their quote was more competitive and they also made you feel from their 50 years of experience in the industry you were not going to be disappointed with their work and any problems that might arise after the installation would not be ignored by them but resolved. There was one thing in particular that impressed me about Sheerwater Glass, as we were finalising the design of the windows for manufacture we encountered a problem with one of the windows. Making it difficult to meet my expectations and the latest Building Regulations regarding the Health & Safety. I must admit that I wasn’t entirely happy with the final design of one of the windows but accepted the window had to be designed in that way because of the Building Regulations. But they didn’t stop there and presented the problem to the window manufacturer to see if there was anything that could be done and they managed to overcome the problem and agree to produce the window how I originally wanted it. So a big thank you to Nicolas Clark (Sales) in going the extra mile to please the customer. The four windows and front door were installed within a day without any problems, the installation team were polite, friendly and conducted themselves in a professional manner throughout the day. They worked hard, quickly and efficiently, removing the old windows and door for disposal and cleaned the areas they worked in after. So a big thank you to Damian & Callum for their hard work in fitting the windows and door. We had our windows and doors replaced last week and can't recommend Sheerwater Glass highly enough. We were so impressed with George's initial visit and detailed quote that we decided to go ahead straight away. Our installers, Stuart and son John, were excellent. They explained what was to be done each day, minimised disruption, left the house really clean each evening and considering the state of our old windows and surrounds, did a miraculous job. We had Velux windows which wouldn't open. Sheerwater came out quickly and diagnosed we needed a new motor. This took 3 weeks to come from Velux and was fitted a couple of weeks later. We've used Sheerwater before for security doors, front doors, and windows, and they've always done a fantastic job with great aftercare. This definitely deserves a 5-star review. During some emergency travel plans, our old security door (installed before Sheerwater's time) wouldn't shut properly. We needed to lock up and leave, so I called Sheerwater and Phil promptly arranged for an engineer to come out later that day, and within a few hours, the problem was fixed. The door now works perfectly. Even though it was a small job, fitting us in last minute during a hectic time made such a huge impact to us. Sheerwater's customer service is top-notch, and there's always a personal touch when dealing with Phil or anyone on the team. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend anyone else and will continue to use Sheerwater for their services! Superstars!!!

For the excellent work Nick did in measuring up and fitting secondary glazing in difficult windows this would easily be a 5. A great guy who did a great job. BUT. The company let themselves down with a poor public interface. The telephone receptionist/planner struggled with finding records, understanding customer needs, with moving the order forward, with planning the fitter's day and with keeping us in touch. I dare to suggest that deficiencies in these areas need management attention.

One quick phone call and a visit to my property was arranged. I wanted a new door and there were many options. The salesman suggested a way in which they could make it safer to enter and leave. The door and framework were fitted by Damian and Ruslan in a few hours with little noise. It fits perfectly and looks impressive.

Very happy with the service today. Initially we were told that our bifold needed a replacement locking mechanism and realignment. On arrival for fitting Nick identified that the old lock was fine and didn't need replacing. Sheerwater Glass have promised a refund for the labour and parts not required. Sheerwater Glass arranged for glass replacement, with a cat flap hole, for our triple glazed window (Velfac 200). Several other companies declined to offer the service given the thickness of the glass. The team came out to do a detailed measuring, and once the quote was agreed ordered and installed the glass in a few weeks. Thank you very much to the team at Sheerwater Glass!

I contacted Sheerwater Glass with a view to having the gutterings, downpipes and fascia's replaced on my mid-terraced property. Russell came to visit in order to see the job and quote. He is very knowledgeable and advised reusing the hedgehog brushes in the gutterings, having black gutters that do not show the dirt and the soffits are hidden so they don’t attract the dirt either. The job was completed in a day by two very efficient young men. They worked efficiently and tidied up as they went. They were confident in their craft and in very hot weather only had one cup of tea. So grateful to you all and I now have gutters that will not leak this winter. Completely recommend this service.

I wish I had heard of them earlier. 'Cowboy Builders' fit our Double Glazing. We had our Composite Door with Sheerwater and are thrilled to bits, a neighbour even said it is the nicest on the street! Our downstairs window had big gaps either side, as an off chance I contacted Sheerwater, thinking they won't touch it, as they didn't install it. No problem! The staff are always friendly and helpful. Andy the Technician has done an excellent, immaculate job, we are very happy. Again, nice friendly 'gets on with the job Guy.

Sheerwater Glass did a great job repairing & extending the life of a upvc door for us today (5th July 2024). They've previously installed windows for us so we were confident calling them when the door started to stick. Ruslan was very efficient, rejuvenated an old upvc door that wouldn't lock easily in less than 30 minutes, saving us from replacing it, gave helpful advice and even adjusted another door on his way out when he spotted it was sticking slightly. I recently contacted Sheerwater Glass to request an engineer visit to assess some gaps in our french doors and also stiffness when locking them. Ruslan came over to check and adjust the french doors and kindly also checked our side single door. He was able to make adjustments to remove the gaps between the PVC and rubber seals and also reduced the stiffness when locking. He vigilanty spotted that the top shotbolt was missing and came back a few days later to replace which also improved the locking. He kindly explained the adjustments so that I could make any in future if necessary. Ruslan was very professional, helpful and friendly - if you require an engineer then I highly recommend him.

Nick did an incredible job from survey to fitting the splashbacks. His time taken to measure accurately paid off with a hitch-free, professional fitting. He was also very neat and tidy in his work and a nice guy. Now just the walls to paint to unite all parts of the kitchen into an overall perfect colour scheme. The Dulux-swatch-to-splashback-colour match is as close as you can expect when choosing a colour printed on a card swatch to translating it onto a glass surface. Great product, i’d recommend it and I have.irritatingly high standards!!

We recently noticed that our Patio doors,purchased about 6 years ago, had condensation between one of the panels. Sheerwater Glass provide a guarantee on workmanship, window frames and most glass units for 10yrs. We completed an online warranty request form, providing proof of the original purchase together with details of the problem and photographs as evidence. Sheerwater Glass responded immediately; just to check a couple of details. Once confirmed, the claim was agreed and a replacement panel was ordered. Within 2 weeks the panel was delivered and a booking arranged for fitting. The customer service from original contact to fitting was excellent. All contact with Sheerwater Glass was friendly and efficient. Happy customer.

I will most certainly be having Sheerwater to do my next window or door. We used GHI windows on our previous sliding door job in October 23 and I wish I’d found these guys sooner. GHI pretty much sent the local chimpanzees on day release to fit the door. Humanzees I think they were. Multiple returns for snagging and now leaking in a corner. Anyway very happy with SW Glass. Give those guys a hefty Xmas bonus. Steve at the beginning was also lovely.

We are delighted with our beautiful new windows. We had quotes from other UPVC window suppliers but each time it seemed that the frames would have to be much larger than the wood window frames we were replacing and would significantly reduce the light coming in. We were so happy to discover slimline UPVC windows from Sheerwater Glass. I am overjoyed to find that there is no reduction in glazing area vs the old wooden windows. They look great, let the light flood in, keep the heat in and will not need constant maintenance. The fitter was extremely professional, quick and tidy. What's more the quote was very competitive. Just wanted to send you a note to say again how happy we are that we chose Shearwater Glass for our front door. We have had a few problems over the last year, but each time we are visited promptly by a friendly member of the team. Most recently a few weeks ago, where our door lock was fixed. We had a replacement front door replaced. The quality of the door is great and the installation team were excellent. However, the sales team were not! We went to visit the store in person to confirm the extras that we wanted to order. The sales team did not update the order form correctly and as a result we did not get the details on the door we requested and were asked to pay extra later. I admit I did not treble check the details on the updated order form to check Sales did their job correctly, although they were confirmed in person and by email first. As a result we got a door with glass we did not want or the finish we asked for on the letterbox/knocker/key. We were asked to pay for these mistakes, and no ownership was taken by the Sales team. Anyone using this service, be sure that any conversation you have with Sales is written in the order form exactly, or you will get mistakes in the order as the two teams do not speak to each other! We were advised that the Sales team make this clear to check the order form, but we were told the opposite!

Used the Sheerwater team to replace a couple of Velux windows in our converted loft. Really first class experience, great communication throughout, super professional and the installation was the best we've had in terms of fit and finish and (lack of) damage to surrounding areas. Will use again!

It is no wonder that Sheerwater Glass are one of the oldest and most trusted companies in the Woking area. From the 1st visit by the Estimator who listened to and wholly appreciated what I wanted to achieve, the Surveyor for the more precise measurements etc and the fitters who undertook the works, all were truly superb. On the day of the works I pointed the fitters in the right direction and left them to it. A few hours later it was as though my old rotten door had magically disappeared and a new one had grown in its place. I was subsequently given some incorrect information about the quality of the work and lodged a complaint but Sheerwater responded very quickly and talked me through the work that they did and I am pleased to be able to set the record straight.

We contacted the guys at Sheerwater glass looking for some help with a self cleaning shower screen - which I know sounds like a strange request! However the people at Sheerwater came up with the goods, understood exactly what I wanted, had the product we needed and came round very promptly to measure up. Shortly thereafter they came back to fetch part of the frame to bond the new glass in and returned soon thereafter with the finished item. In a time of a pandemic the team at Sheerwater Glass we just perfect. We had the men come round and measure up but then had to chase up for the quote 2 weeks later. If we hadn't phoned them we are not sure they would have come back to us as they didn't have an instant response when we did phone. The quote had increased, which wasn't an issue as it was more challenging job than first thought, but it came across like they didn't really want to take on the work. We have decided that we will shop around for other quotes.

Sheerwater Glass experts came and measured up making some very helpful comments at that time. They clearly know there trade and we had used them some years earlier. The designs and plans arrived on time and were correct we signed them off and paid the deposit. The technicians came and completed the installation within a day, everything was properly fitted, working and demonstrated to me. The technicians were very tidy and cleaned up after each piece of work. I would give them a great recommendation and would most certainly use them again.

The only local glass company who promptly gave a quote, sent out someone to measure up and arrange for the glass to be fitted without any issues. Pleasure to deal with. Highly recommend.

Sheerwater Glass have successfully completed a number of projects for us for the last 30 years and they have always done a great job. They do things when they say they will, the workmanship is of high quality, and the advice on what to do is exceptional.

We had a large window remove and brickwork below and French Doors fitted. Very professional job, fitters very neat and tidy, made a good clean job of removing the brick wall and overall finish is excellent. We have used Sheerwater Glass over the last 20 odd years and always got good service, highly recommend them.

This company lacks competence in the communications department - the entire process from start to finish was frustrating. After multiple site visits from them, we placed our order and paid the deposit. We were then left in the dark for many weeks, forgotten about. Understand that their were lead times in place however I received no updates along the way. When I did call up, I’d get a different response every time. They’d also claim to of sent emails during the process however this was also hard work. Once they had finally fitted the order, they began to pester for final payment. Understand that the payment was outstanding however I’d had to wait for ages for my order to be complete, with no follow ups or updates along the way. During the timeframe given for final payment, I was harassed by letter, email and phone... it’s funny how the communication picked up all of a sudden... They’d even call me at silly times in the day and would also call me on my emergency work phone! Their manner was rude and unprofessional - I certainly would NOT recommend this company. There’s other companies out there that value their customers and provide quality service from start to finish, without fail! Shop around people!

Expert advice from Steve saw us choose the exact right product for our needs. The Installation team turned up on time and set to work. Just a few short hours later our new door was fitted. I am sending this review on behalf of my 90 year old mother. Sheerwater Glass fitted her patio doors 30 years ago. The other day the lever which opens the door, which had been stiff for a while, broke off. She found the original paperwork and rang to see if they could help. Firstly, she was delighted Sheerwater glass were still in business and, despite apologising that they were really busy, but would do their best to call her back as soon as possible, someone turned up at her door less than 2 hours later, fixed the door mechanism and refused to take any money off her. She was stunned at their amazing customer service, efficiency and genuine kindness. She will be recommending them to everyone! And thank you from me too for your prompt assistance 👍

Just had a velux window installed by Sheerwater glass. Excellent all round; quick to respond to request to quote, gave us a few different quotes and happy to discuss various options, very tidy when erecting scaffolding and cutting through the roof, and a perfect window installed, with perfectly smooth plastering around. Everyone very helpful, cheerful and polite. Have used Sheerwater glass many times now: windows, front door, guttering and now the velux. Definitely fully recommend them.

The van drivers drive in to parked vehicles and then drive off. The driver of BG67SUX did this to a parked lorry and didn't bother to stop.

All our toilet mirrors, and couple of other decorative mirrors were fixed by Sheerwater. There were a few technical difficulties but it was fixed without compromising on quality. Very prompt response and genuinely easy people to deal with. Highly recommended.

Over priced and very poor customer service

I've used Sheerwater Glass for many years for my glass and glazing needs and have even used them to produce motorsport car mirrors to high engineering tolerances with outstanding results. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them and their sales approach is straightforward, which differentiates them from their competitors. Their after-sales service is also excellent. I have recommended them to several people and would have no hesitation in doing it again.

We have used Sheerwater Glass twice now. The first time was for a new GRP Front Door and the second time round for a new front door and bi-folds. Our salesman, Simon, was prompt and very courteous on both occasions and nothing was ever an issue when we wanted to something else added to our quote. He always made sure we were 100% happy with we what we ordered and was not pushy, like other salespersons from competing companies. From a sales perspective, I believe Sheerwater are the best out there. On our second installation, we had a few queries post installation and both Simon and Gordon both visited to address the queries, so they care about their reputation. Thanks Sheerwater for a job well done on all counts!

I also contacted Sheerwater Glass as their products were precisely what I was looking for. Simon was supposed to visit to discuss my requirements but called to say his daughter's car had been involved in an accident and so I suggested that it was better to abandon the appointment so he could deal with this. Another appointment was made for Simon to visit. On this occasion (one of the hot summer evenings) Simon called (but didn't keep to time); I showed him plans of our proposed extension and he did an envelope calculation of what this would cost and he left. I had to chase Simon for a written quote which didn't materialise. I gave Simon the benefit of the doubt believing the hot weather had some bearing and he may not have written down the window sizes. Another visit from Simon - again later than scheduled. I do now have a quote but do not want to have any further contact with Simon. Thank you for contacting me Mark regarding my review. I would like to update this review by saying that my extension went ahead and we had Sheerwater slimline windows and doors installed; they look lovely as well as being practical. Sheerwater were most helpful when my project needed some modifications to the glazing, so I would recommend them. Several friends have commented on the quality of the glazing and I would now give them a 5 star review.

I first contacted Sheerwater glass online and booked in an appointment for a quote for a new door. There was no callback confirmation, so I decided to phone them. A friendly man apologised that Simon had not contacted me and said he would give him the message and if Simon couldn't call me back he would. No-one contacted me. The appointment date came and passed and still no contact. I decided to leave it. A month or so later I came across their website again and decided to try and make another appointment online, this time Simon did phone to confirm. The appointment did go ahead, (although he was late), and he even said he would email the quotation over that evening. I didnt receive anything and it's now a month or so later. What a shame. I'm not sure whether this is how they usually do business, not judging by the reviews; but based on this experience, I wont be using them, or recommending them in the future.

We used Sheerwater Glass for our recent kitchen remodelling and could not have been more pleased. The staff at their showroom were helpful and professional, without being in any way pushy, and they took time to talk us through their range and help us decide on the best windows and doors for our budget. They arrived on time for the measuring, which was carried out without any fuss. We received our quote very quickly and were happy with the price so decided to go ahead. The fitting took place exactly to schedule and their fitters were able to work around all of the other builders we had on site on the day, without any complaint. All in all, we were delighted that we chose Sheerwater Glass, and would not hesitate to recommend them to others. We have other doors and windows to replace in our house soon and will certainly use them again.

Sheerwater Glass replaced 5 failed double glazed window units for us today that were originally installed by another company. They were professional throughout and did a great job with the installation not leaving any mess behind. Would recommend to anybody else requiring this service.

We had two sets of bi-fold doors fitted from Sheerwater Glass in December. We've had a seamless experience starting with our visit to the showroom which gave us the chance to see the product we were buying and the staff answered all the questions we had happily. The day of installation went without a hitch, with two friendly fitters arriving promptly, working efficiently and tidying up after themselves.
