We had a boiler installation and new shower put in with sdp plumbing and heating and the boys did a fantastic job .they covered everything up and cleaned up so good .Dan came first day and worked all day and then Darren and a young apprentice plumber on the second day .fantastic job all of you . Darren and Daniel did the most excellent job changing my heating system from a 44 year old boiler and header tank in my loft to a new Worcester boiler and a pressure tank. Just want to leave a review for SDP plumbing. I called them out for a leak on my washing machine cold feed. I was very happy with the comprehensive repair carried out by Dylan. He did a very professional job soldering in new pipe work and replacing the isolation valve. He arrived on time and I was able to check arrival time with the office number, which was a bonus. They very kindly agreed to undertake 2 jobs from me. The heating engineer that came round replaced my main thermostat with a new one.(They also advised me on a suitable replacement as I was unsure and they advised to purchase one which). They also servised my Viesmann boiler in keeping with the 10 year boiler guarantee according to manufacturer specs. It is difficult to find Viesmann service engineers in the Canterbury area. They completed both jobs (at a competitive price too) and I am fully satisfied with their work and happy to recommend them to anyone in this area.

Recently I had an oil boiler installed by SDP. It was a good experience. The lead installer was Dan and he had an apprentice with him, Dillon. Good to see and good that SDP promotes it. Industry needs people to learn and I think apprenticeships are good. A totally painless experience. I would recommend SDP. One problem. Neither of the lads brought my Ridgeback any snacks!! Martin

Quick and efficient communication and service

SDP took 1 day to replace my old Worcester Bosch boiler with a WB Greenstar + update the pipework internally and externally to comply with regs. The engineers were friendly and worked all day. They were conscientious about leaving my property tidy so I felt very pleased about the installation. An engineer gave me advice about using the control unit. I received the WB 10 year guarantee within a week.

Excellent service except for contractor had been given the wrong spare part which was soon rectified and task completed in a timely manner

From start to finish the team at SDP we're friendly and approachable whilst remaining completely professional at all times. We had a new boiler and 2 radiators installed. They completed the job quickly and cleanly... you'd barely know they'd been there! Fully recommend for any related projects.

The response to email enquiries for quotes has been sadly very poor.

I honestly couldn’t rate these guys any higher. They go above and beyond! I’ve had a number of plumbers around to mine quoting me over £5000. I’m a single female and I think (now know) many took advantage of this. I asked for a quote from these guys, they came and had a look and fixed the problem there and then for just under £200. Amazing! These guys are genuine and I know where to turn to now. Polite, friendly and cleared up after. Thank you! I appreciate it more than you know.

Would highly recommend SDP. Jay has fixed multiple jobs both in my house & my holiday lets. He got to the bottom of a drain problem that had been going on since the house was built 8 years ago. Only thanks to his perseverance & determination to get the problem resolved he found a bit of wood that had been accidentally dropped down drain during build leading to continuous blockages over the years. Boiler service was all good, professional service

Really pleased with SDP. We had a triky boiler installation on the top floor of three storey building of flats which required scaffolding and the supervision of the building manager, and nothing was too difficult or too much trouble for all of the SDP staff that were involved. They were all polite, courteous, professional and very competent and sorted the scaffolding out for us so we didn't have to do anything except pay the bill and provide tea and snacks. There was also a slight issue with the low water pressure we have (third floor probs) which stopped the boiler working a few days after the install, but they sent an engineer out the next day who sorted it promptly and without fuss. Great company, very much recommended.

Good customer service starts with the person who answers your call, and listens to and hears your problem. I found this company to have excellent customer service. I had the issue of a newly installed boiler from a different company not working, and wasstuck in the middle between the company and the boiler warranty debating who's responsibility it was, during which time I had no heating or hot water. So I used checkatrade and SDP were the first to respond, the lady who I spoke with really understood the situation I was, and went out of her way to help. I felt very reassured. Long story short I got my boiler sorted by SDP. A good company starts with great customer service.

Had a quote on Monday and by Friday night we had a new oil boiler fitted and working perfectly. From Agnes in the office, Darren who quoted to the guys who did the install it was a very painless process. Interest free credit tipped the deal as boiler may have struggled until the summer but to have the peace of mind was worth going for it now. The fitter were friendly, courteous, efficient and left no mess. Won’t hesitate to take up a Service Contract with them.

We had a boiler fitted by another company that was getting close to the end of its life. My daughter visited us from Australia coming from 40 degree to Freezing! The strain of keeping up with heating and giving them baths proved too much. I tried this company first as they put in my other daughters boiler. On her recommendation they had also installed boilers with a neighbour and another close relative. I had already decided that a new boiler would be needed. A phone call on Monday morning to SDP and they said they were very busy (a good sign!). Anyway they asked for photographs of the old boiler and based on that they gave me this quote:- Supply and fit:- Worcester 28CDI Compact Combination boiler Worcester Horizontal Flue Worcester system filter Comfort 2 programmable Thermostat Scale Reducer for cold main Shock Arrestor for cold main New condense pipe to existing. Gas safe and building control certificates. 10 Year Worcester Bosch guarantee on Boiler, filter and programmer Nice to see a detailed quote and it highlights how professional they are. I accepted the quote and were able to replace the boiler that Wednesday. I expected an early start so the 8am knock on the door was fine. My father and brother were plumbers so I have a fair bit of experience of watching and helping. The fitter was excellent and took pride in his work. By mid afternoon the boiler and heater were back on and everyone queuing for the bathroom. The boiler itself is not a quiet and make a good job of heating the water. I will have another job for them soon as my retirement bungalow has an old boiler that will need replacing. I have no hesitation in recommending this company. So much better than the people that originally fitted my old boiler. Their price was within the price range I expected and I am happy with the value for money.

Jay came round during the holidays to fix a leak that was coming through our ceiling and not allowing us to wash or put the heating on, he located it very quickly and remediated the leak fully within a couple of hours, great work again by Jay and the SDP team. Thank you!

The service I received was exceptional. I asked SDP to come as I thought I had one issue with my heating, but they quickly and expertly diagnosed that this was a symptom not a cause. Then they spent time and went to great lengths to ensure that everything was in full working order. Without their expertise and willingness to get the job done, I would not have been able to ensure my Christmas guests were warm and had plenty of hot water. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

We contacted SDP for a boiler service having purchased an older property with an extremely old, half working and noisy oil boiler. SDP were very efficient and able to attend within a few days of us moving in. Thankfully there is no more rocket like noise and all the radiators are working. After nearly thirty years of my central heating “just being not quite right” my boiler started to make horrible noises and cutting out as overheating. Looking at the good reviews SDP had, I called them in and Darren gave the boiler the once over and concluded it was in good nick so he took a look at the 3-way valve and pump. I couldn’t believe it when he said within moments that the pump was pushing the water the wrong way around the system. It looks likely that has always been the case in my 56-year old house but has been missed by two experienced plumbers who revamped my system in 1998 and again in 2014 when we had a new boiler. I’ve always had to bleed the system multiple times in the year and on colder times the boiler struggled to get the heat where we needed it. Darren told me these are symptoms of the wrong water flow where my vent pipe is actually sucking air into the system. Already my system has improved; the boiler sounds better and is working as it should, no air in the system and we’ve already taken the thermostat down 3 degrees as everything is warming as it should. Darren was in and out within the hour, is a thoroughly nice decent bloke and clearly just knows his stuff. Its like when you find a good trustworthy mechanic for your car, you hang onto them. I’d definitely return to Darren and SDP in the future and have already recommended them to numerous friends and relatives. If I could give more than five stars…. I would!

I called the plumber at 09.20 for a burst pipe in my bathroom, his office called me back at 09.30 made appointment for between 3 and 4 pm the same day. The plumber called me to say he had finished his current job early and could be with me in 15 minutes ,arrived at approximately 12.45 and left at approximately 1.50. Perfect job done and very reasonably priced. Will definitely use SDP Plumbing again and certainly recommend them for a prompt and professional service.

When my old plumber retired I needed someone to do a Gas Safety check and fix a fault with the boiler in the house which I rent out. I googled a few local firms and this one looked promising. After efficient communication by phone and email the work was quickly completed, all within a couple of days and at a reasonable price. I didn't deal face to face, but everything went very smoothly and my tenant seems happy with the service, so subject to the usual caveats I would recommend this company.

Excellent service on a tricky repositioning of tank and pump. Darren made sure they had all they needed before the day. The guys arrived on time, worked hard and with thought as to what they were doing, going the extra to get the layout right and future proofing. They finished on time leaving the works clean and tidy.

Arrived promptly after initial contact to assess my boiler issue. Managed to source the part same day. An engineer returned the following day to for the part and ensure the boiler was working again. Both engineers I met were polite and friendly. Thank you for sorting my issue quickly.

Plumbers came out quickly to identify the cause of our leak. They were able to answer all of my questions and checked other pipes in the area of the leak to ensure no other repairs were needed.

SDP are simply brilliant. Can’t recommend them highly enough! They’ve done various work for me and my family members over the last 4 years (since I moved to Canterbury). They have skills to sort out all types of plumbing needs (water, gas, central heating, extractor fan vents and waste pipe/sewage pipes and soil stacks. I first got them in to replace my ancient boiler and following that they are my ‘go to’ people for anything relating to plumbing. They have, fitted new radiators in different places, replaced existing radiators, plumbed in bathrooms (moved toilets and waste pipes) moved external drain and fixed old long standing leaks. Great friendly service would recommend to friends and family

Came home after a week away and turned on the heating on Monday evening. There was a strong smell and the carbon monoxide detector went off in the night, so I turned off the oil boiler and opened all the windows. Tuesday morning, I called the plumbers that usually service our oil boiler and they were not available for over 2 weeks, we have 2 children under 4yo and it was freezing. I started calling everyone I could on the OFTEC website. Most on the list couldn’t come any sooner. Left messages to a lot of them including SDP plumbing. P&V Quenby answered and told me they would send someone the following morning. Just after, SDP called me back but I told them that someone was already coming. The guy came and told us that it needs to be replaced, but they don’t do installation, only repairs and maintenance. He said he knew several that he could recommend and would call around and see if anyone can help. The same day (Wednesday), Darren from SDP came by, had a look and agreed with P&V Quenby’s diagnosis. He said he could try to fit us in on Saturday but might not be able to finish and next availability would be the following Thursday. 2 of his guys, Joe and Dylan, came on Saturday and managed to get the new boiler working by the end of the day and came back the following Thursday to finish up. Thank you so much Darren, Joe and Dylan from SDP(and also Patrick and Val from P&V Quenby) for managing to get us heating again so quickly at such a busy time!

From initial consultation to installation, was really pleased with the work carried out by the team from SDP Plumbing & Heating Ltd. The scope of work involved the removal of an existing microbore heating system (1975 installation) and the cold/hot water tanks that fed the bathroom/kitchen, to connect instead direct to a gas combi boiler. The quality of the work was excellent and the friendly team of installers worked fast, removing the old system and installing a new boiler, new pipe work and new radiators, including chasing in the pipe work to the lounge radiators (due to it having a solid floor and I didn’t want the pipes exposed). Communication was easy (including itemised options on the initial quotation), all very much a friendly team of people and all the paperwork (certification and guarantees) was managed very efficiently. I would highly recommend this company for installations and I’m planning to use them for all future services.

Darren and his team installed a new heating system for us a few years ago. It was a big undertaking as I was inexperienced, and the project involved taking out an old warm air heating system, installing new pipe work and new radiators, and installing a new boiler in the loft. I was happy I chose SDP and felt I was in a safe pair of hands throughout the process. I particularly appreciated Darren’s responsiveness to requests and his willingness to answer my naive layman questions :)

Annual Gas Boiler Service - Excellent and Trustworthy

Water leak above the kitchen ceiling, got into the power lines and tripped all our electric off - so we needed help quickly. Darren attended promptly and calmly, identified the area of leak ; and as soon as a builder cut the relevant section of ceiling out, Darren was able to repair the joint and stop the leak - all within 24 hours of it starting and 3 visits. Excellent support and problem solving.

I used this company for a boiler service last week. The engineer was professional and relatively quick (I hope thorough, but goodness I know nothing about boilers). A positive was that as a city centre property they had their own council parking cover for trade, which cuts out all of the hassle having someone come to your house for work. Thank you.

I called SDP with a leaking pipe issue that had left us with no hot water or heating in the house after finding their number online and they arranged to send one of the guys out to take a look. He arrived exactly when we were told he would, drained a tank to stop the leak and worked out a longer term solution to the problem that would involve coming back the next day. He did just that and within half an hour had fitted an isolation valve and restored our hot water and heating. Overall the service we recieved was prompt, professional, courteous and very good value. 10/10
