Fantastic service from Barry, who undertook a hob installation, EICR and replacement of smoke and heat alarms. He kept in touch at all stages, checked any additional work before proceeding, and was polite, helpful and courteous. I was very pleased and would certainly use him again.

Cannot recommend Barry strongly enough. He went above and beyond to make sure the work would not only be done right but whilst also installing the complicated wiring with fantastic craftsmanship. Floorboards and installation had to be adjusted, holes drilled through walls and you would never know! Response and correspondence was punctual and the work was done quickly and efficiently. Barry completed a major amount of electrical work in our flat. He was extremely professional, reliable and properly qualified. He is not one to take short cuts like our previous electrician.

I was looking for a reliable, local electrician to replace our now defunct electric shower unit. Out of three quotes we chose Barry, who was not the cheapest, but who had done a detailed quote covering every aspect of the job. We arranged a date and time and he duly arrived on time and did an exemplary job for us. I would not hesitate to recommend him wholeheartedly.

Would highly recommend for your electrical needs. Barry did a EICR report, fitted a new fuse box and surge protection in my flat as well as lots of other smaller electrical jobs such as new switches, sockets, light fittings etc. All work done to an excellent standard and competitively priced. Barry is also really friendly and offers you great advice on your electrics, answering any questions you might have.

Barry did a fantastic job coverting all ~50 of our 12v downlights to 240v, installing a new consumer unit plus managed to fix a whole host of other issues without any trouble. We'll definitely have him back for any electrics work in the future!

We are delighted to find Barry. From the beginning (a survey of a Victorian conversion we were looking to buy) to the end (a complete re-wiring across 3 floors) Barry was amazing. Barry is great - I couldn't recommend him highly enough! Barry completed a full rewiring for a 3-bed house, which was a long and complicated project. Barry managed through multiple changes in brief from us and was able to work well with other (sometimes difficult) tradesman. Barry remained professional, helpful and friendly throughout the project, even when things weren't straightforward. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anybody looking for an electrician.

Barry was really helpful. He was thorough when explaining the work he was doing. The quotes he provided had a clear breakdown. When he completed the works in the flat everything was working well and it was tidy and clean.

I had a summerhouse installed in the garden as a sewing studio and needed appropriate electrics and lighting installed. Barry did a great job, all completed in the time agreed, to a good standard, with certs supplied for all the works. Working with the summer house installers Barry installed electrics in the cavity wall, including sockets and put in the lighting. We plan to use him again when we start work on our kitchen.

Very happy with service from Barry. Asked him to deal with a number of miscellaneous issues (installing additional sockets, dimmer switches, ethernet cable testing). All completed on time and to high standard, based on a clear agreement. Will use again if I have more electrical work!

We used Barry recently to fix a fault with our electrics, caused by a water leak. He responded quickly to our call and was able to fit us in around his busy schedule. Barry from Solv Electrics, recommended by my builder, was great! Whilst we initially thought I needed just to move a few plugs, it ended up that there were some significant electrical issues. Barry worked late nights and early mornings to resolve them and he did it with good grace and he didn’t leave me stranded (even though he had to move around some other jobs). Excellent job all round. Barry managed to fix a lot of complex electrical problems both interior and exterior. We had used two other electricians previously both failed to be able to diagnose the problem. He is a very skilled electrician but also very persistent and would not give up until he had resolved our issues. Barry is an absolute pleasure to deal with, very reliable and insisted on clearing up after him after some very long days. It is reassuring to know Barry and I would highly recommend him.

Both times they had to work around other building works and did so without fuss or delays.
