Im really glad this is the end of my experience with leading electrical. I first booked for a quote and paid the invoice on July 8th. They weren't able to book me in to complete the work until August 4th. After they completed the work on August 4th, the issue seemed to be fixed and then broke again about 3 hours after the electrician left. It then took until August 7th for anyone to contact me back to get someone back out. This only came after me leaving calling 3 times and leaving 2 messages that no one responded too. I was booked back in on August 14th between 8-10am. I took time off work to let the electrician in. I then noticed on the website it said the electrician would not be due until between 11-1. I emailed the office and was told the electrician would be with me about 10:30. I couldn't take any further time off work so I had to cancel again. Again after a few days of being ignored the work was finally completed on August 18th. All of this time I was without lights in my bathroom, kitchen and one hallway. They offered to cover the fees for one of the additional call outs, which I'm very glad of because I absolutely wouldn't have been paying for it if they'd asked me to. Will absolutely not be using again. The two stars go directly to the two individual electricians that came out. The company and the way its run seem to be pretty poor.

I had this company out to install an outside security light, a few months later, the light tripped the house and the came out reasonably swiftly to repair it. They told me that the light let in water and so I needed a new light which I had to pay for. This week the light has again tripped the house. I’ve been calling and emailing about this all week and can’t get anyone to speak to me about it other than a receptionist who has no ability to do anything other than pass messages on for a mystery person to phone me back. And they haven’t phoned back. So despite my many calls, I have now spent the week and likely now the weekend with only partial power in my house. Terrible customer service - avoid this company at all costs.

Recently got in touch to quote for a light fixture installation, plug and switch socket replacement, new double socket, and new under cabinet lighting. LES responded very quickly same day and after a couple of queries the work was arranged to be done the following Monday (couple of days later). The guys doing the work were very professional and friendly, checking in regularly to make sure I was happy with everything and to confirm placements etc. The work was completed to a high standard and very quickly. Everything was just so smooth and effortless! If you're looking for an electrician this is an easy recommend.

All work was carried out with care, keeping damage to walls to a minimum where access was needed. Work proceeded quickly, with problems being solved as they came up. Once their work was completed, the guys left the place tidy. Quotes, invoicing and payments are all done through links to their own webpages, where everything is straightforward and can be done with a couple of clicks.

4/22/26 Johnny came to our flat at Quartermile Edinburgh and helped fix our refrigerator that had shut off and helped replace ceiling lights that I was told is no longer available. Johnny was offering to go to the wholesaler to find these rare lightbulbs. Johnny’s attitude was most reassuring and helpful. He made everything look easy even though the service he provided (according to me and my husband) was “far above the call of duty”. We would give Johnny six stars out of five, if that was possible. Also the coordination of our electrical job by Leading Electrical Solutions is far superior than any other similar company we have ever dealt with.

From start to finish I have been impressed by both the office staff and the young electrician who carried the work out. I had to postpone their visit twice, but nothing was too much trouble for them and any communications were consistently friendly and helpful. The electrician also was helpful, hardworking and very polite. Due to other work being carried out, his working conditions were not ideal but be worked on regardless.

Had electrical issues due to an ongoing leak, they sent out a guy within the hour and fixed in 30 minutes, would highly reccomend!

Job done (CAT6 cabling) reasonably satisfactory, but they tried to charge me for parking which they knew I could provide for free. Invoice was well over the "estimate" which was simply their hourly rate. No work was done for 30 minutes whilst one engineer was absent from the property & the second was just sitting but I was charged for this.

While I have yet to receive the full report, I must say that this company has been very good in all respects so far and they came recommended by a good friend. They were easy to contact and able to send someone out very quickly. They arrived at the time and place agreed and went through a full electrical assessment of the house for a quoted £180. They then did a verbal reporting on what the situation was and some options to proceed. After this, I received an invoice the same day, with an indication I could request a payment link if I preferred that to doing a bank transfer, which I did. I then received an email (without a payment link) offering a reduction on my bill if I posted a review (not specifying how much of a reduction, or whether the amount is dependent on the review. This lead to me downgrading the star rating to 4. I generally don't post reviews much, I would have preferred to be offered the reduction without being told it was in exchange for posting a review. It also really devalues all the positive reviews they have).

The service was excellent. The man who came out was very pleasant and thorough and spent time checking sockets and plugs. There has been a few times since though I have woken and no power and trip switch off.

Terrible customer service. I am still waiting on delivery of the paid for and agreed upon report. No answer to emails and phone calls not being followed up on. Payment requests made daily via SMS and emails and despite assurance that when I paid I would receive the report within 2 working days I have received nothing. Phone call goes through to a “reception” who are unable to give any assurances on when I can expect even a courtesy call. As per usual with these trade services no accountability and a rip off service to boot. Added to a large list of companies to avoid for any future work. Are there no honest tradespeople left?

Leading Electrical Solutions was quick to respond to my initial query about installing an EV charger. They came over for an inspection, and provided the quote quickly. Compared with two other companies, it was a reasonable quote and since they had already seen the site, I chose to work with them. There was a slight delay with the equipment arriving, but they were quick in re-booking another slot. On the day, they arrived earlier than expected (at least one person on the team), finished the job smoothly and cleanly. The team was approachable throughout and left us with the necessary instructions. Overall, I would recommend working with this company in the future.

Helped isolate a problem. I got a new fuse installed to bring the flat up to standard, but upon its installation the kitchen kept dropping off (the new system is more sensitive). The guy went through every single appliance in the kitchen and socket, working to eventually the boiler. The boiler was the culprit and is now being seen to. Really friendly and efficient service, overall the job was great and completed in full, professional outfit. I had an alarm installed and extra sockets done. With the sockets they made a bit of a mess with the walls, they did seal them back up and while common they cut a waste water pipe which had to be repaired, causing further damage to the wall, they got it all fixed though, a courtesy discount would have been a great touch. Booked an appointment for 8am, waited 30 minutes and gave the company a call to see when they’d be here - it went to answer phone. Then I waited until 8.50am and still noone had turned up and not even a phone call so I decided to leave as I was going to be late for work. Eventually got a call whilst I was driving home but this was an hour past the agreed appointment time and then an email saying there had been a scheduling error. Not great.

This was my second time using this company, because i was so impressed by them the first time. This time i had an electrical fault that was non urgent, but they were still willing to get someone out to me on the same day. They did a full investigation to find the source of the fault and i was confident they did a thorough job and took their time. Leading Electrical came recommended through our new shed manufacturers when we decided to add some lights, sockets and a small heater to make the shed usable as a home office. The electrical work had to be co-ordinated with the shed installers to allow a first fix for the power supply before the internal lining was fitted. The electrical team completed the power supply on the arranged day and returned to complete the work over the next couple of weeks, including some new lights and bathroom fans in the house. We were pleased with the electrical work undertaken and would be happy to recommend Leading Electrical to anyone looking to undertake a similar project.

They quickly identified the problem which left us with no heating or hot water for 8 days as a rare blowing of the main switch in a new fuse box installed by a another company (unwilling to come out). They dealt with the issue quickly and efficiently. we would certainly recommend and would sue them again.

I recently used Leading Electrical Solutions and, overall, had a positive experience. The team was extremely responsive and prompt, which is invaluable in urgent situations. They arrived on time for both visits, quickly assessed the issue, and resolved it effectively. Their professionalism and clear communication were much appreciated. The only downside was the cost, which I agreed to upfront due to the urgency of the job. They charge £130 per hour (inc vat) for fault finding, and this rate remained the same during a follow-up visit that required two electricians. Being billed the steep hourly rate for each electrician meant the costs added up very quickly. While the service was excellent, the pricing may not suit everyone’s budget. If you value speed and expertise, Leading Electrical Solutions is a reliable choice, but be prepared for a significant premium.

I had an issue 7 days ago and it took until today to get an email response. No phones were answered. I tried a different company who had my issue fixed in less than 1 hour after I first called them. Service from Leading was terrible.

Didn't turn up to carry out the landlord electric checks. I had received a quote, accepted this, made an appointment, my tenant stayed home to let them in. No one came, I've emailed the past few days and and no one has responded. Very very poor communication and awful customer service.

Leading Electrical Solutions did a large extension project for me but now won't provide me with an update or return my calls or messages. Last December the electric underfloor heating they installed blew a fuse because the mat area was too great a load for the control unit and fuse. In April they said the supplier was holding things up - the installation had been done within the stated parameters, but the supplier was involved and apparently the cause of the delays. Since then I have not been able to get an update through any of the ways they can be contacted. Giving two stars as other work has been fine.

I needed an EICR test. Leading quoted a very reasonable price, and when I wanted to go ahead they attended the next day. A verbal summary on the day, later confirmed in writing, was reassuring and only identified necessary work and was not 'padded out'. When I went ahead with the remedial works again (thanks to a cancellation) they attended the next day and completed all the works and were then able to certify my electrics as being up to standard. Excellent punctuality and promptness, and trustworthy.

I can honestly say in my 10 years as a home owner I have never had such brilliant service. I had an emergency situation after discovering my shower had been slowly leaking into the wall and down into the floor. Everything was soaked and my only option was to turn off the water and I thought I would be facing weeks without a water whilst waiting for bathroom installers. Leading Electrical Solutions were able to send someone within 2 days to replace the shower and get me up and running again.They were prompt, communicated well, assessed the job and immediately jumped online to look for shower options. They went out to buy the unit for me and got it installed and my water back on all before 10am! They also looked at my faulty outdoor light and got that replaced too. Absolute legends! I couldn't recommend them highly enough!

Just had a smoke alarm system put in this morning and the guys were super friendly, curteous and efficient. Showed me how to test them as well as how ofter to test them. Amazing work.

Had them come out for a faulty shower line. They were quick in their responses and managed to fit us into a cancellation at short notice. Guys who came out were professional, seemed to know their stuff and put in a fair bit of effort where it was hard to trace the old shower line. They were great at picking up the phone too over the few times I had to call them. I'd say that they were a bit pricey but I don't know the normal cost of this type of work so it could be electricians in general are an expensive trade. For full transparency, I should also say that they offered me a reduction in bill for a review on here, though they didn't otherwise influence what the review should say or rating should be.

I called at around 3:30pm on a Friday as I needed something fixed urgently and by 5pm, someone had already been sent round to help. Really fast response times, great service and they kept in touch throughout. Really highly recommend

Friendly and punctual, unfortunately not trustworthy. Had an EICR done and they were just punting for work; listed things that didn't need doing, electrician demonstrated a surprising lack of knowledge of the regulations. And then they refused to communicate when I asked for a refund on these grounds.

Came to connect a wall fitting. Afterwards, one of the plugs didn't work, The workman didn't say anything. I tried it five mins later and the plug didn't work. I called up to complain, so they sent the engineer back out. He then said the wall socket was faulty. I just went in and opened the panel, one of the wires had come loose, this is clearly why it wasn't working. I reconnected it and now it works fine. I have been charged twice for this poor workmanship. They weren't willing to understand that they were in the wrong. They have lost a business and residential client through their greed.

The work was completed successfully, and I'm happy with the result, but before that, I had one unnecessary electrician visit, and they bought a part that was not needed. In the end, everything worked out, so 4 stars for that. I'm adding a 5th star though, because there were no issues whatsoever with agreeing upon the payment. I was not billed for the visit that was unnecessary, nor for the part that wasn't used. That's a good approach to business.

Prompt response to my initial query and easy to organise initial visit and follow-up despite it being over festive period. The fault-finding and minor re-wiring work was completed quicker than expected. Only some cosmetic damage to floorboards and walls after the fault-finding exercise (but the walls were fixed before finishing-up). The electrician turned up on time and replaced my fuse box to get my property up to current standards (required for any kind of letting in Edinburgh). Then he replaced my bathrooms' light fittings for the same reason. He was polite and friendly and completed the work quickly. That was a few days ago and everything is working perfectly. The company has 5 electricians and it's easy to get someone round at short notice which, in my experience, is rare in Edinburgh.

We asked about electrical safety certificate, as result we had to change our fire alarms that were out of date and update our electrical panel connection, to make it in line with new regulations, as was discovered during the inspection. The communication with the company was very good. Stacey was responsive, polite and respectful. Both electricians were courteous and very pleasant, punctual and professional. The price seemed a bit high, though we didn’t do any comparison, as the company was recommended, we assumed everyone has raised prices unfortunately.

Very pleasant and polite electrician came to visit. He thought there was too much load being used by my kitchen appliances which meant the fuse would go so he moved things over to another circuit to reduce the load on the problem circuit. I can now use other appliances when the oven is on without the fuse going however this is not a win as the oven still does not heat up, the electrician was unable to fix the problem and suggested I get an appliance person round to look at it. So, overall, I spent £90 for a problem which hasn’t really been remedied but it sounds like it might not be an electrical issue. Despite being frustrated at spending £90 and not getting a solution I would still recommend.

I used the company twice - one for my regular fuse box regular check and the second time for a recommended list of actions which resulted from the initial check. Technicians were professional, on time and gave me heads-up for how long they will need to turn electricity off and reminded me to switch to mobile hotspot, which is appreciated as I am working from home. I was also communicating which their customer service (Stacey), who was responding to my emails quite quickly and in plain jargon-free language. Their online booking / quote system is very user-friendly. Overall, a very good quality and professional service for a decent price. If I will need any other service from electricians, I will use them again.

I’ve used leading electrical a couple times now and they have been fantastic to deal with. So much so I’m actually leaving a review! The woman I spoke to was super friendly and quickly gave me some options for what I needed. The young bloke who did the work was happy and on time and did a great quick job and left the place spotless. Customer service 100%. The best part though was the price! For a recent job other companies were quoting between 4 and 7 times the price I paid at Leading and they didn’t try to add stuff I didn’t need or make it more complicated than it needed to be. Definitely give them a go!

We've been very satisfied with Leading Electrical Solutions (LES), having used their services several times. Today, Ryan from LES installed a Nest thermostat in our new home -- which required not only professionalism and expertise, but also some on the spot problem solving (which he did beautifully). I was grateful for the professional manner both in how they helped to organise an appointment, and in how they performed during the work itself. I was able to schedule a visit easily and quickly. The electricians were friend, competent, and efficient. However, there has been a delay in receiving my invoice and certificates from the visit. Their visit was 11 days ago and I still haven't received them.

They were generally good, although a little messy. It was a shame they did not have all of the equipment. They need it on the first day and they had to come back on the second day to be able to get everything done in a quick and efficient manner, but overall I would recommend.
