Effective Home Ltd is reported by many reviewers to have poor communication and aftercare, with missed appointments, unanswered calls, long waits for repairs and unresolved faults after solar and boiler installations. Reviewers also report solar systems that stopped working, faulty batteries, damaged or cracked panels, missing paperwork and certificates, and unresolved problems over months; one reviewer reports missing EV equipment, and another reports loose cables and panels fitted differently from the survey plan. One reviewer reports a boiler installation that left no stop tap afterwards and a boiler dated 2015, and another reports exposed wires and Gas Safe defects after boiler work. Some reviewers report polite and professional work, helpful surveys, tidy work, clear communication during the sales process and quick installation of panels or boilers. One reviewer reports replacement panels after a formal complaint, another reports replaced roof tiles during installation, and another reports a leaking radiator fixed within two hours.
Recommended by Halifax bank as a Green Reward Scheme. Emailed on 3rd Feb and was promised a quote within two weeks. No quote within two weeks, so chased and was promised by end of Feb. As of today, another company has quoted, installed and commission our PV system and yet we have still not heard from Effective Home. Incredibly disappointing.
Had solar installed by effective home which were recommended via hive. Install was fine and hassle free. Unfortunately their after care is shocking and appalling. Reported over a month ago that cables were hanging loose from the panels and have had zero communication. The panels also weren’t installed according to the site survey plan, 3 panels should of been installed on the side of the house which only gets direct sunlight first thing in the morning and 5 on the rear which is south facing. They installed 3 on the south facing pitch and the rest on the side which gets little direct sunlight, so system was effectively missold. Have chased numerous times and been told their ops team will be in touch but never do so wondering if there even is an ops team. The cables clearly aren’t run or secured under the panels meaning they could become detached from any of the panels affecting the output. Never had access to sun sync which is the inverter and battery installed so can’t check the systems health other than on the hive app which is limited. Effective home really need to sort out after their care as I now have zero faith anything needed under warranty will ever be completed if required.
Solar panels installed in Dec2025 and stopped working in Feb2026. Called them to fix as under warranty. Customer care didn’t bother much for the first time. Don’t even take my details and said it’s not their job. Later called again in a day, someone was really good at her job asked for information but said I have wait for 7 days for a technician to call. Didn’t get anyone till now to call or fix my problem. Worst after sale service. I would never recommend them and if you wish to experience what I experienced please buy solar panels from them
Awful service, absolute joke Sent two lads that looked and acted like a pair of teens… The boiler we had fitted had the date in it 2015? Then after the job was completed we found we have no stop tap anymore? We have complained but now we have paid them they don’t reply! Cowboys!! We just had a proper plumber out and he told us it’s a classic rip out and fit job..😢😢😢
Garbage customer care. My Solar panel system was installed in July last year, they forgot to install the EV equipment. Eventually installed it about 8 weeks later. It doesn't work and has never worked. . Waited in all day waiting for eng to show up - nothing. No call, no txt nothing. I had to call the office to let them know. The Inverter recently packed in and a new one requested, It's been sat here for over a week waiting for someone to come and install it. No communication at all. Customer service ? don't make me laugh.
This company lies through its teeth. Never call you back, don’t turn up when they are meant to, no explanation or call to say they won’t be coming. I paid the company £28k for a system that no longer works after 2yrs. They don’t care about you once they have your money. Do not use this company!!
Great service from first contact no pressure sales team, clear communication of process and panels with batteries fitted within 3 weeks of initial call, already making great savings despite the current weather
Shocking service. Chose someone else would be my advice. Very quick with the process of sales but then when it comes to instillation they sub contract to bodge it and scarper. Scaffolding went up, installers arrived started work, then broke a roof tile and said the scaffolding was wrong. A roofer was promised to arrive the next day. They then just left. Rubbish left everywhere, dust and debris from drilling left where it fell, solar panels left on our decking. Now 10 days with no further contact, chased effective home for answers, no response, not returning e mails or calls.
Sadly it's been a disappointing experience with cracked and damaged panels on a 13 panel system installed last week, I always leave it to people to make a decision for themselves but attached photos so people can make their own mind up. UPDATE after some back and too over 3 weeks and a formal complaint effective home replaced 5 panels and put things right so changed to 3 stars, the guys who completed the remedial works were decent, courteous and resolved the issues
We have our solar PV and batteries installed in 2022. Initial service was good. However, there were some issues which to date, have not been resolved. Our batteries were meant to be mounted flush against the wall in the garage but on the day they were just put on the floor one in front of the other, no mount was supplied. Some time after that install we were contacted to see if we were happy with everything, I made them aware of the issues, sent photos and the person I spoke to said it was a "red flag" that they were placed on the floor. He was adamant it would be resolved. Alas, I never heard from Effective Home again. We were also supplied with a dongle in order to manage the Growatt inverter via the app but this was not set up for us. I've attempted to set this up several times following the instructions and seeking help online from various sources but we've never been able to get this working. So we've not been able to set up the system to charge the batteries at night when we get a lower rate of electricity. Finally the placement of the panels was not as hoped, crossing vertically and horizontally on one roof. Whilst they clearly work fine, aesthetically it doesn't look great. If the battery issue and the dongle/app issue has been resolved we would have been happy but I'm giving them 1/5 for aftercare. To me the mark of a good company is how they treat customers after they have collected their money and how they resolve problems. To me it felt like Effective Home are in the "collect money and run" camp.
We asked the company to install solar panels and a battery. The sales side of the work went quick till the install. The contractor/electrician team who did the install and the electricity work was not really paying attention on their work. As a result they cracked/broke some tiles on the roof (as didn’t use ladder to step on), and inside the house the cabling got really messy and not nice at all. The surveyor person was really helpful before the install, but after (although he insisted on using him as main contact anytime) he was barely reacting on messages and calls. After several emails and an escalation the head office picked up our reported issues, they sent out the same contractor team to correct/fix the issues. As information is barely flowing inside the company, they could fixed the internal issues, as they needed scaffolding for the roof. We managed to have the internal issues fixed after several discussions with the team. Then we had to wait some weeks again for the roof, which finally happened after another escalation. The scaffolding happened after 1-2 days and a contractor arrived to replace the broken/cracked roof tiles. Of course the he was not able to provided the exact same roof titles, so as finally agreed with him, he put the darker coloured tiles under the solar panels, so they are not visible. As mentioned the install happened really fast after we contacted them and paid the instalments, but resolving the issues they caused during the install took much longer than expected. It is obvious that communication does not flow internally as it should, because when the first visit (for fixing issues) happened the contractor had no clue what they have to fix. They haven’t received any information, although we have sent several pictures about the damage they did. We didn’t get any support about the Tesla app itself, as when they installed the solar and the battery they quickly setup, but barely explained how it works. Luckily the Tesla Support team was really helpful and helped us a lot with all the questions and queries we had. The product itself is good, we are happy with that, but the underlying support is a bit unclear. We are giving a 3 star review as a favour from our end, as the install happened quickly to get the money, but then we’ve felt left in a limbo.
1st fault (battery dropped out of sync) was fixed within minutes - it took 3 months to acknowledge even with photos... Something was changed during repair: 2nd fault (solar charging) is still ongoing from April, as now only charging at about 980w with 2200w going to grid! Been two months without reply... VERY POOR CUSTOMER AFTER SERVICE Sunsynk advise getting in contact with installer (Effective Home) - delays. Sunsynk now advise contacting a local agent (£45 per hour, minimum 2h & no guarentee to fix fault) - more delays & proving the warentee is useless. LOST BATTERY STORAGE for 3 months & NOW LOSING STORED GENERATION for 2 months, this is costing me money in grid consumption at extrotonate grid prices. NOT HAPPY.
the salesman James was very helpful. Took my mothers details and postcode, did the relevant checks and booked us in for an assessment. We were asked to provide some confidential documents which i sent via watsap. 3 days later we get called by Lewis "sorry you don't qualify" this company has taken personal confidential information and then told us "sorry" These companies are getting government funding. Makes me wonder if they will claim using my mothers details and pocket the money. please avoid this company and don’t make the same mistake as my mum.
Completely useless, had a cavity insulation survey done nearly 2 months ago, have called them for a progress update twice, promised they will call back since their system hasn't been updated yet, but never receive any call from them. The latest update is they have no idea when I'll get an update, I can either wait or cancel the order. It's been 4 months since the initial instruction, frankly, if they can't handle the workload, they should inform the client from day one and not sell them a fantasy and wasting everyone's time.
Like many others I've been waiting weeks on end after my property was surveyed, for an install date for cavity wall insulation. Zero communication and have chased them multiple times. The last time I spoke to a rep I was promised a call back but that was also weeks ago. Shocking service, and makes us incredibly nervous about having this company put our insulation in, given the horror stories reported in the press.
Unfortunelty like many others a pretty bad experience. Looking to get cavity wall and loft insultaion. Nightmare with surveyor not able to send report to effective homes so stuck in limbo for months. Finally gets resolved and told the report is not the correct quality so now waiting to start the process agian. Nice way to waste 4 months and be no closer to moving forwards with the project. Poor communication with zero updates or information on what the hold up was. Shame as the staff I did speak with seemed to care and were helpful.
I was introduced by British Gas for cavity wall insulation. Four months of delays and still I have no date for install (survey was They rarely answer the phone and when they do, some of the service team are very short and passive aggressive. Apparently, I am still at the back of a 300-person queue. Clearly this company needs to hire more staff to process applications. I have ultimately ended up bypassing this company (which doesn't even install the cavity wall insulation themselves....) and going direct to the installers. Avoid!
Poor communication and service. I was introduced by Ovo for insulation. I continue to have to chase for updates of my order, the survey was in September and I haven’t had a response to 3 requests for an update.
Survey was due to be done at 10am, was called at 10.10 and advised they weren't going to be on time, said they would call back at 11am to rearrange, no apology or explanation. No call came at 11am. I had taken a morning off work for the surgery, waste of time.
Do not use this company. Turns out the broke at least 4 roof tiles and made others slip and they don’t think they need to offer any compensation because I have had it fixed independently as I don’t trust them. Do not use Effective home.
Fantastic company to deal with, knowledge, friendly and efficient. Would recommend!
Do not touch this company! complete cowboys. Had a battery system added to my existing solar in February it's now august i'm still waiting for my final paperwork. I've called been put on hold then they just hang up, they're quick enough to call you up and take your money.
John Smith: I contacted EDF who are my energy providers and they introduced me. I got 4 quotes from 4 installers. Of the 4 , 2 companies visited the house to see what was needed and 2 did it on Google Earth which I was not impressed by so I eliminated the Google Earth guys quotes from my thinking. Effective Homes were one of the companies who visited and they promised the Earth. Unfortunately their promises proved to be worthless. On the 26th May, their installers turned up to do the work as agreed but there was no scaffolding. I had told them 8 days earlier that I had no contact from their Scaffolders and urged them to get them to contact me as I needed to arrange time off work etc to be here. When the scaffolders didn’t turn up they told their installers to abort the installation ( I didn’t expect them to do it without scaffolding) but I had given Effective Homes ample notice this would happen. They then refused to put the matter right and cancelled (breached) the contract. I have only just got my money back today after involving HEIS and EDF and without their help I feel I would still have been waiting. They have been truly awful and don’t even start me about their “customer care” team.
Worst experience, the company failed to communicate properly. Scaffolding randomly turned up to the property without booking any prior appointments. I have never told about any add ons i.e. Bird guard, after installation I had issues with pigeons and birds in the first couple of days. I called straight away but was told they usually they charge around £399 but will charge me £890+ since it's complete although it's their fault as new customers wouldn't know about pests issues. Honestly disappointed with the service, I have been trying to call Liam the sales person for over two weeks but no response. The team just mentions that Liam has moved teams but will ask him to email but I got no emails at all. I was recommended by one of my friend who had a good service but I'm utterly disappointed with the service. Looks like they have also left few scratches and damages to the solar panels as shown in the picture
I had Effective Home install a Solar system at my house last November (2022) and they installed a Sunsynk inverter and battery. During the first installation the engineers did not install a battery isolator switch between the inverter and the battery as per manufacturer's and code requirements, so I had to call them and get them to send someone to install them after the initial installation. Then during the December 2022 cold snap, the battery developed a fault where it would not hold any charge and the reported SOC (state of charge) would have big jumps of its readings in a short amount of time. The battery got progressively worse over time until it shut itself down and would not turn on at all. I got in touch with my plant manager from Effective Home and had to chase him for weeks to have a look or send someone to diagnose the problem, but he did not. The only thing he did after weeks of chasing is that he opened a case with Sunsynk about it and he only did that after I asked him to. Sunsynk were just as unhelpful as Effective Home and I have been chasing them for weeks for a site visit or to at least look at the battery remotely, which they have not done yet, so I am effectively without a battery for full 3 months now without a resolution in sight. I would not recommend using Effective Home for anything and I would not use Sunsynk again if I end up looking for a solar system again. Stay away from both companies if you have a choice!
Impossible to contact when you have a complaint about unfinished work and money charged for a non existant electrician, numerous calls and emails, absolute sham company
We have now had our solar panels and battery installed for just over a week and everything is working perfectly; despite the gloomy weather our set-up is already exceeding the predictions which we are delighted by. I did my research of a company to use some time ago and ended up with 7 estimates and many from charlatans and chancers - one quoted me double Effective Homes quote. Communication was excellent throughout, it was always easy getting through and people were friendly and knew what they were talking about - in the end they won my trust and I plumped for them. Then the wait for the various permissions and before I knew it the scaffolding was up and down within a week. Lee the electrician and Ed were excellent, they were friendly, funny hard working and clearly knew what they were doing, one or two hitches were overcome without drama - clearly everything was planned excellently by Georgia. The rubbish was collected within 24 hours and we were generating electricity immediately> We coudl not be happier, it was an excellent experience, a great price, we have quickly learned how it all works and Lee has responded to a couple of emails querying the technology within 24 hours. I would recommend them 100% without any qualms - I was worried before but needn't have been they completely surpassed my expectations. Thank you.
Solar PV fitted. We used Effective Homes for a solar installation, really pleased with the installation that happened this week. Had communication from them that works would commence w/c 28th Feb….a little bit more communication would have been good to fulfil a great customer journey, however the scaffolders arrived on Monday… they were efficient and polite. Thursday installers arrived as planned…..a very patient electrician happily answered the many questions I fired at him throughout the install (so I could learn) all works carried out in one day without problems. A couple of roof tiles broken, which were replaced as installation took place…not an issue! System is up and running, amazed with it…easy to track on the app. Producing plenty of electric for early March. Should have done this years ago. Really happy with the service we have received. Well done….one happy household producing our own energy. 😊
Hi! There, I would like to report company appointed to me (via Solar guide) for my Solar Panel System quotation and installation work. The Company is Effective Home and they are nothing but a disappointment. Since Oct 2022 until few weeks ago (10 Feb 2023), when I start the long-wasted process of trying to get my Solar panel system installed and they were just playing guessing game with me and NOT committed to getting the installation work done. They had problem with Scaffolding work on Jan 18 (they came and when off without any installation work), new date (Feb 11) was set and the Engineers did not show up. I have now collected all my money back to look for another supplier myself. Please, for the love of God, DO NOT direct any customer to Effective Home again, as they are NOT very Effective nor provide any good customer care. I will also be reporting them to HIES.
Update: This is an update actually. My system was installed in Nov - eventually (see my previous review). I ended up going to HIES about it due to Effective Home's lack of interest. After paying final invoice, we are 3 weeks later with no paperwork - which was a topic in my original complaint. After an unpleasent exchange with a very obtrusive call handler, They now say there's a backlog and don't know when it'll be issued. Couldn't make it up. Recommendation to still Avoid! Original I wish I could rate 0. As others about this company have said. Total cowboys 🤠 in that back office. Too many problems to list all. Communication is the worst, once your deposit is taken, you'll manage the install and resolve problems yourself. 2 last minute cancellations of install. Circus of delivery drivers. Install day the guys didn't bring ladders to get on the roof, fitted wrong roof brackets and all materials were not there. Electrician wired up wrong, they left after a few hours. Scaffolding and rubbish left outside house for month and half. Raised a complaint that they could care less about and breached the contract in several places. I'm going to MCS and HIES about them too. They eventually installed it but still can't answer about paperwork, as I'm worried they will get this wrong too. Avoid this firm.
I do not recommend Effective Home for PV Solar Installation. They are not at all organised, and make promises they don't keep. Too many problems to cover everything ... - Ordered in March 22, installation started on 08 June 22 and to this day 11 July 22 I'm still waiting for them to complete the installation. - Poor communication, once they have your deposit, you will be the one chasing them to manage your project. - No organisation, installers turned up without all of the required components. - Half of the solar panels are damaged due to careless handling and need to be replaced. - Damage to property from scaffolding. - What should have been a 1 day installation is now over a month on with no end in sight. - Complaint to MCS and HIES submitted due to non responsive communications from Effective Home Ltd. Eventually received over £1000 in compensation due to their incompetence. I recommend that you find a local MCS registered installer with an excellent reputation and make sure they visit your property and carry out a technical survey in person.
Had Solar Panels installed by them First two salesman/surveyors who came round were fantastic. Really pleasant and proffesional. After that the rest is shambolic. No communication. Just ring you up randomly asking for money. Scaffolders and installers show up at random times. During the installation they broke my boiler when messing around with the fuse board. been without heating or hot water for over 6 months now. Installation back in the June. They came out twice to fix the boiler but seemed unable to or didn’t want to solve the problem Currently pursuing action through court to settle damages around the installation Stay away from them!
I awoke on the day of the planned installation to a very confused delivery driver, who expected me to accept delivery for solar panels that were supposed to be accepted by the engineers from Effective Home, I ended up having to carry these into my house, not exactly a great start for having paid £9k. The install itself was more or less painless, however I was alarmed to find the battery wasn't delivered, and the electrician told me it wasn't the first time this has happened and that I may have to live without it for now due to shortages, again quite unreasonable for having paid £9k. The quality of the installation was also questionable, the panels themselves were scratched, and I was left with a rather unsightly DC power cable snaking into my garage that had been cut almost a meter too long and sloppily tacked in a place it was assumed I wouldn't notice, not exactly the end of the world, but what exactly am I paying £9k for. I have been left with all the rubbish from the installation littering my garden and the street because their waste carrier hasn't come to collect it yet, and their scaffolding is still up. But here comes the truly infuriating part, I have absolutely no documentation, I have been given absolutely no test certificates, no safety certificates, no MCS certificates, no building control certificates. Right now I have a rather large battery in my property which I don't even know is safe. Every time I call to chase this up I'm given radically different answers. "You'll get the certificates after you pay", "they'll be with you by the end of the day", "they'll be with you tomorrow", "they could take up to 6 months". I'm not entirely certain in what world it is considered acceptable to not provide a test certificate for 6 months, especially after paying £9k for a service that involves high capacity batteries. I would advise not using this company and spending a little bit more money on one that cares.
Pretty much identical problems to the other 1 star reviews. Solar panel Install took place 2 weeks ago, half finished job and not heard a thing from anyone since. Pile of rubbish on my drive, garage is a mess from the electrical install and damaged solar panels installed on my roof. Do not use this company, they are cowboys.
Their tag line says “with you every step of the way”. The moment the smallest of hurdles happened for our Solar panels, they cancelled the job, even knowing there was a solution. Seems Effective Home only want simple jobs whilst demand is high. Terrible service, apart from the salesman that first came round.
Solar PV Install Great service, panels went up very quickly and already noticing a difference to my energy bill!
All is great with this company until you pay your deposit. Then all communication stops. Still waiting for a solar installation and they are now holding onto £5k of my money with no installation date in sight. Avoid.
We tried to use this company to fit solar panels. Absolutely Appalling! Do yourself a favour and find another company. I have, reluctantly, given this company 1 star as it is not possible to give less. I have spent the last 5 months trying to get this company to install solar panels. They initially carried out an inspection and gave a quote to fit 16 panels to the roof. We accepted the quote, signed the contract and paid the deposit. There followed a period where they swopped and reduced the number of panels, but did not reduce the price. At various stages they reduced the number of panels to 9, then 12 and then 14. We insisted that they stuck to their original quote/ contract and fit 16 panels. Shortly afterwards, they increased the price by approximately £1,200.00. We were not happy but decided to go ahead with the second quote so we signed a 2nd contract and paid the 2nd instalment 1 week before they were due to fit the panels. We had agreed on a date when work could start (this was about 2 months later than the original timescale given). However, the scaffolders turned up three days before the scheduled date while we were away on holiday. The scaffolders could not gain access to the property but we were assured by Effective Homes that they would return on the mutually agreed date. Needless to say, they failed to turn up. Effective Homes then reassured us that they would turn up the day after (one day before panel installation was due to start). Again they failed to turn up. There was no communication about any of this with us and we were left to make all the phone calls to find out what was happening. Effective Homes then told us that the scaffolders would arrive the day after the panels were supposed to be fitted. When we queried how this would work, we were informed that the job would be moved to another date almost one month later. There then followed a lot of emails and telephone calls from ourselves with hardly a response from Effective Homes. We lodged an official complaint in line with their written policy. Again we did not receive a reply. Eventually, we received a phone call, but this was not to deal with the complaint or move the job forward. It was to inform us that they were no longer prepared to carry out any of the works and therefore were reneging on the contract. Having paid out 50% of the costs, we were not happy with this and demanded an immediate and full refund. We are now more than a week since the company reneged on the contract and no refund has been received. Luckily we paid on credit card so we have started a Section 75 claim with the credit card company. From earlier reviews the company often suggests that you should contact Simon Coyle. He must be very busy judging by some of the reviews that we have read and would explain why he has not replied to a single email that we have sent him.
Had a new boiler and some radiators replaced yesterday. From the first point of contact to make the appointment to the installation I was kept updated. Had a rep come to discuss my needs. Very thorough and professional. Did a full survey. Was booked in next week. On day of installation the items arrived by a very helpful delivery driver. Nothing was too much trouble. Half an hour later the engineers arrived. 2 plumber and 1 electrician. They worked in harmony and professionally. They discussed what was being done and why. Cleaned up at the end of the job. Lovely to have heating and hot water again. I had a slight leak during the night from kitchen radiator. Phoned the office first thing. Within 2 hours an engineer came and replaced the faulty value. Again nothing too much trouble.
Fantastic service
One star is too many. The company is a shambles and can’t even carry out basic checks before an install. Constantly moving the dates about and it doesn’t seem like anybody talks to anybody else within the company. Beware of the scaffolding company they use, the operatives like to urinate on neighbours driveways
So far it took two weeks to get an answer but they have promised to get an engineer out to fix my boiler installation as soon as possible
On 11th May I paid a deposit for solar panels. So far we've had 5 different installation dates with two week gaps in between (including 2 where no one turned up and the company didn't bother to let us know until we called them), we've had 26 phone calls with this company in the last month to try to sort out various problems and we still don't have any solar panels fitted. I recommend avoiding this company at all costs if you want to keep your sanity.
Engineer turned up did service and left me with no hot water that t was in the morning and didn't get a engineer to fix it till 18.30 that evening
After 11 phone calls and a visit to the office it took 3 weeks before issues were finaly resolved. 84 year old parent left without heating due to very bad leak. Mum was in intensive care, Dad and I ill too. Added a lot of stress and caused deterioration in our health at a difficult time. Left with a bad leak (filled a half pint glass in 3 minutes on a solid wooden floor) which was reported at 4.30pm. Spoke to a woman on the phone who assurred me they would send a plumber and videos sent , no plumber was sent out to repair it. Had to call out emergency plumber to drain system..No heating that night and it was cold. Had to ring again the next day as still no plumber sent out Wrong size radiators fitted, which meant re decoration if not changed and really ugly pipework..3 phone calls to Barbara re that but she never sorted the problem. Turns out, they fitted 2 radiators in the wrong rooms 3 phone calls to get the electrician out to finish the job Took 3 weeks for rubbish to be collected. Still problems with radiators not getting warm, so Dad having to bleed them. Inspector finaly came out and found flaws with the work and recitified those problems. Dreadful communications, no care or consideration, shoddy work trying to fit wrong size radiators and no olive put into one of the radiators, which caused the leak. Also drain pipe cut too short Put us out and caused major stress and exaserbated illness...NOT GOOD ENOUGH!
I regret using this company would never recommend this company to anyone. Customer service there is none . They don’t turn up when they should and don’t even call to explain.
I had a new boiler fitted and the engineer (Andy Spencer) was so helpful professional and friendly. I had to be out late afternoon and he was so kind and worked hard to accommodate my day. Was very impressed and thankful for such a professional job
John came bang on time and got the job done without any drama, He’s a credit to Effective Homes! Can’t believe how toasty the house is now!!!
Adding comment as you replied saying I wasn't on the system. Bought and had boiler installed a year ago. It's been nothing but trouble. It wasn't installed correctly to begin with. Weve had Cadent out twice and the 2nd time they ended up quarantining the boiler and telling us not to use it as it was dangerous. Yes every time we complain you send someone out but we now have zero confidence in our boiler as we've had that many issues.
6 weeks after a very rushed boiler installation we are ‘enjoying’ a long bank holiday weekend without hot water. Worcester boilers are sending an engineer on Tuesday but I really didn’t expect to have to call someone out under the warranty so soon. I do hope there won’t be any cost to us? Not to mention the actual installation isn’t even finished yet as twice engineers have been sent without the correct parts. Perhaps when your next engineer attends to finish the installation you could ensure they have the right kit and it’s not someone who clearly resents being asked to work on a Friday! Should have read the reviews first!!
Cant believe how easy this company made my search for a new boiler. First I had a surveyor come to my home to check what I needed thank you Andrew for he explained everything and gave me my options.then I had Leah a customer journey specialist contact me to keep me updated on when I was to have my boiler fitted and to answer any question she as always at the end of the phone thank you . On the day of the boiler being fitted Nathan and Travis turned up to do this . They were very helpful and explained things. They made sure that they cleaned up and always asked to go in to any room they needed to go into . I would recommend this company for any work that u need.
Excellent service from start to the finish. Leah ( my customer service advisor) kept me informed all the way. From start till the finish, Andrew our surveyor very professional and helpful, through to Kieran and Edward who did the install, what can I say great guys who did a great job. House lovely and warm just in time for the winter. Thank you very much.
From the first contact to the installation of our new boiler the service we received was excellent, The man that came to carry out our home survey was friendly and explained everything in detail to us and once we placed the order we were contacted by Betheny who kept us informed with how our order was progressing and then to provide us with our install date. The boiler fitters turned up before 9am and had our install done within the day as specified, aswell going through all the functions of the boiler and controller leaving everything clean and tidy.
Applied for the government grant boiler. Told I had to have this with solar panels. They surveyed the house, helped me apply for the grants. Two months later when the grants were given they then surveyed the house again and decided the system would not fit. Numerous phone calls making, cancelling appointments. Very unprofessional, no customer care or service. Have requested copy of a telephone call 24th August - Criticism of your reply. I have not spoken to Robin, never heard of him. Where did you get the information that 8 was pleased Robin had organised a solution?Michelle sent me an email saying I had cancelled the contract and that I could have had the boiler without the solar. I asked for the recording - I cancelled the boiler surveyor because the solar engineer said it could not be done. At no point in this conversation or any of the numerous conversations beforehand was I offered this. Michelle has since emailed me to see if we could arrange something.
Great service, courteous hardworking installer. From start to finish very helpful, informative, and good quality work. Couldn't ask for more would definitely recommend.
Two young engineers turned up on time and did a very good efficient job. They carried out the work professionally and without fuss. They arranged for an electrician to come the next day as they found something that wasn’t wired correctly. The old boiler that was replaced was collected along with boxes etc within the week as we were told would happen. Altogether we were very pleased with this firm who did an excellent job from the lady on the phone (Barbara) to the young men (Matthew and Sam) who carried out the work. We would highly recommend them.
Good person and good food
Fitted new boiler under government scheme, first class brilliant job
Take forever get back to you, only got 1 star coz I couldn't give zero, avoid these at all cost, will lie and let you down
We had 2 engineers that completed the work with efficiency second to none .Well done boys on a fantastic job we are so pleased
a very professional job from start to finish, the two guys that done my install were a credit to the company and too themselves
Effective home has recently supplied & fitted my new boiler an ideal LOGIC SYSTEM S18 From start to finish the whole process of obtaining a grant was very easy. The standard of work was completed in a very professional manner my installer was a man called Edward he was very polite & respectful of being in someone else’s property he worked nonstop and was thorough in all aspects of the installation the house was left neat & tidy removing all of the packaging, old boiler etc was taken out into the garage ready for the courier collection later in the week overall Effective Home are to be congratulated on the whole process & installation of the new boiler we cannot thank them enough & we are delighted, well done & thanks to all involved Mr & Mrs birchall Wigan
Don't entertain this company, caused so much damage fitting new boiler had to take them to court to get them to pay for repairs
Very pleased with the installation, well pleased with the workman he was clean and tidy and polite. Thank you Effective Home
Men turned up punctually, parts missing so left withou installing. Still awaiting further contact as to when boiler will be installed. Still waiting 2 weeks later. Boiler finally fitted, efficient install and working well. Had further problems with completing electrics but overall satisfied.
My hot water still not working correctly brand new Woster bosh Not happy ....still waiting
I chose this company after also having quotes from 2 others , they are extremely easy to contact, right from the first call I felt they had a high regard for the customer. The surveyor came out and explained where the boiler would be sited, other companies had asked me to take pictures inside and outside of my property and upload them to their office.... I didnt feel confident in doing that ...Lee and his team came as planned to take out the existing back boiler and replace it with a combi boiler ,they were friendly and polite , they were mindful of covid rules and I felt confident , they did a great job I was totally satisfied with the work they did so satisfied I recommended them to a family member who is in the process of having her heating system replaced this week. I can't praise them enough
I had a boiler replacement through the government scheme. Although I am now happy with the end job, I was not at all happy with how the first engineer left the electrics when the boiler was replaced. I was assured that this was a temporary fix and that an electrician would follow along later that day, but this did not happen. I feel that the electrics were left in a dangerous state overnight. The first engineer asked me whether I had a 3 point plug which I think indicated that he did not feel competent to install the boiler to the mains at the wall. The second engineer completed the job the next day and I am now happy with the overall job. I asked to make a formal complaint, but I have heard nothing back from the company.
The fitters were fairly professional. Being critical they could have been neater or used more protection for furniture and carpets etc. Also no thought whatsoever to covid: no masks, didn't ask, and closed open window ( closed for drilling but then left closed).
Very efficient. Kept me informed of dates and times re installation. Costs involved explained very well. The 2 installers were very pleasant, friendly and got on with job with no fuss. Left kitchen clean. Answered all my questions as installation progressed. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
We had new cavity wall insulation installed and a new more efficient boiler too, all for a nominal £140 contribution. the surveying engineer advised us of the scheme whilst he was surveying our neighbour’s home. He returned a week later to survey our home, and the cavity wall installation was completed in a fortnight, with the new boiler installed 3 weeks later. All throughout the process we were kept fully informed and all the work was done on schedule by fully qualified installers. the company also organised all the warranty registrations and we had nothing to do at all. Overall a very professional and well organised project.
very good to deal with and inform us of any details along the way
1st class inspection, and installation, By Knowledgeable and cheerfull tradesmen, ****** 6OUT OF ***** FIVE
Very good we are very pleased with the boiler the company plus the workmanship
Superb....start to finish .....no complaints, tried finding some as we do but no..... engineer five star
The survey went fine, and the actually boiler installation seemed to go ok. Although a day after the installation there was an issue and a leak from the boiler through my ceiling, because they had left a bag with parts in in one of the pipes causing a blockage. Was assured that their aim the first day would be to get us set up with heating and hot water. I have a young child and was left overnight with nothing (in January). Luckily when I contacted Effective Homes one helpful lady did arrange for me to go and pick up some electric heaters to use. Most annoyingly, four weeks on and I am still waiting for all the waste items left on my drive to be collected. I was told this would be done within a week of the work. I have contacted Effective Homes 6 times to ask but with no response. I have now requested to make a complaint, but once again, no response.
The team was professional and respectful whilst working in my mother in laws (Madge Scholes)house under the current covid situation, They where clean and efficient in there workmanship, Can't fault them.
New boiler from initial enquiry through to installation service was fantastic communication was excellent and the house is so safe cozy and warm I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them and I would most definitely use them again in the future Theres a lot of companies out there and I did my homework but this company did not disappoint at all
Terrible customer care. They contacted us to say that the installation wasn't up their usual standard. No one came on the appointed time. After 5 calls and numerous emails, still waiting have the problems fixed. Now we have mould growing under the boiler.
Top man,
I wouldn't touch this firm with a bargepole again. Firstly, they fitted the wrong boiler, and dirtied the carpets whilst fitting 2 new radiators. Secondly, when the correct boiler had been fitted, there were a number of leaks that needed correcting. Thirdly, the control box was not left,so when the electrician came he could not do anything. Fourthly when the electrician came with the box, it transpired that he did not know he had to isolate downstairs heating from upstairs. Fifthly, it was only at the fifth attempt that the correct electricals were fitted and all the leaks were stopped. Pathetic!
We very recently had a new boiler fitted by John Mak. He worked single handedly for the 2 days it took to fit the boiler and we can’t praise him highly enough. He worked non stop, he was pleasant, helpful and very knowledgeable. The job was left clean and tidy and he worked long hours until the job was finished. Superb boiler and the house has never been as warm. Certainly recommend both the boiler, Worcester Bosch Greenstar 8000 life, and the Engineer John Mak!!!
Demanded money before the work was complete, not happy with the standard of work, avoid these cowboys!
Brilliant Company excellent workmanship highly recommended
The workmen were very good and polite and they a very good job and I am very happy with the results. Thank you very much. Yours sincerely Mrs Hilary Pearce.
There was a problem with the first install but they can straight out and resolved it to a professional standard. Thank you!
The customer service and speedy response from Effective Heating from my initial contact to have the boiler survey up to date has been excellent. One of the best companies that i have dealt with. Thank you to all the staff.
Desterate situation when I contacted this company, disabled with no heating or hot water. They were superb in helping , with considerable inconvenience to themselves in organizing help for me . The fitters installed the boiler yesterday and were so professional. When thy finished the y even washed the kitchen floor. My sincere thanks to all the office and works staff . Happy Christmas and continued successes in 2020
A SECOND TO NONE SERVICE.Had a new boiler installed approx 4 months ago, boiler installed within a few hrs.The good thing that impressed me was the follow up installation check. Can't fault this company.
Don't waste your time and or money on this company! The worst experience ever and to say the people who put in the new boiler actually put my electric cable straight back on top of the new gas pipe under the floor boards and when they nailed the floor board down ...guess what?? It pinched the cable and exposed the wires causing a dead short and blew the electrics!! Would they come out there and then to fix it...NO!! A few days later the sub-contractor who fitted the boiler in the first place came and sorted out this mess! When Effective Heating sent their own electrician out to replace the wiring damaged by the sub-contractor they wanted to repair it with a join or charge me for a new cable!! Effective Heating if you feel like replying to this then fine but it won't change the fact you sent out incompetent people to do this job. The ombudsman is my next step and hopefully nobody else will ever had to be put in the same position as I was...
Wish I had read some reviews before agreeing to the boiler and water pump installation. Boiler engineer was rude, wasn't sure what boiler he was installing, removed the cupboard after saying he'll do what he can not to damage anything. Then we have the water pump, which was changed, only to find the electricity was now compromised as there was an inch of water around the pump which they claim is nothing to do with them. Come on, your engineers do some work in the airing cupboard and then the pump gets damaged. It's definitely not a coincidence. Debris left under every radiator and then all the rubbish left on the drive with no info as to whom would be removing it, the two clowns who did the work were more concerned with hurrying up as it was Friday. The customer service team are equally as bad, the lady told me to get a local plumber to fix the damage they caused. Then upon reading the reviews I see the nigel Farr crop up, the engineer who inspected the damage and claimed it wasn't them. Is this a coincidence? It's happened before to others. I see a scam here. Trading standards need to be all over this lot or even rogue trader's.
Where do i start. So on Thursday Matt and Liam arried bang on time to fit my elderly parents a new boiler. On arriving i informed them that my dad had got dementia and he might follow them around and ask alot of questions on what they was doing. Matt and Liam was absolutely fantastic with him. The work they did and cleaning up was outstanding. Only 2 problems with the company got to wait until Monday for the electrician and theres an extension lead across mom and dads landing which they could trip over. Thank you Matt and Liam brilliant work
Thank you all at Effective Heating. We had our boiler replaced today and we are delighted with the standard of service we have received David and Josh arrived on time, they were efficient and pleasant. They carried out their work in a very professional manner, leaving our home clean and tidy. Our experience with all staff employed by Effective Heating has been positive throughout The surveyor and administration team were exemplary, following up all communication and updates via email. Thank you all very much
Just had my boiler fitted today. I'd just like to say a big thank you to Adam and the team for a professional service.Very impressed with how Adam persisted to find the fault and would not leave until he was satisfied he had done everything he could. Thank you Adam and the team. I would highly recommend this company to everyone.
Writing by N King updated 29/5/19 ... Gas safe register report has been done with 5 defects 'not to recommended standard' reported. Remedial works requested via gas safe. Terrible and dangerous installation.... I do NOT recommend. Original works done 15th march...still not finished. Smashed worktops, tiles, cemented the inside of my kitchen. Random holes hammered and chiselled into random walls not near the boiler. I Used a fire daily that they had left connected to a back boiler with no danger notice discussed or issued until 12th APRIL!!! I've open electrical components near water supplies pipes not connected, removed plug sockets not filled, repaired or left like for like so I've now 1 only power socket in my kitchen. I was Left without heating or hot water for far far too many days, 9..... numerous weekly multiple visits with no action and a director harder to contact than lord Lucan, if you want more men through your house than a magic mike show and disappear like harry potter than please do use this firm. Please see their Facebook page review for photos of the works up to date.
Fast survey after initial contact and installation of new boiler 2 days later. Time will tell with regards to after service.
We was granted the a boiler under the eco 3 scheme so effective heating explained that to comply we will need a energy assessment done on the property and it was found we will need a large 36kw as a minimum for a replacement, and the accesor agreed this and this was no surprise as I had 2 previous heating engineers state it will require a 40kw unit, so ok But that's when it started to go wrong On the day of the install the installers turned up with the very bottom of the range boiler with a maximum output of 35kw boiler which is less then needed for the property as stated by there own assessor and all others who have inspected the property so I immediately contacted the office and I was met with flim flam and false information At this point the installers became very abrupt and rude as I was waiting there time contacting there manager, and not letting them install the under size under specification boiler. But I had no choice but to let them carry on seeing as my old one had been removed So I'm left with a boiler that is not suitable for the property size Also I was astonished to see that the company refused to clean out the system prior to a new install so I said on your website you have your effective heating promise which states a clean and flush on all boilers, Which after my email they removed and denied this, good job I saved a copy of the webpage to prove there deception and breach of contract. So if you want a below industry standard install these are for you
I would recommend anyone looking forward to buy a new boiler not to hesitate for VIESSMANN boiler through Effective Heating. It's the best boiler.
Was recomended to these guys to replace my mother's outdated boiler the whole team from the first phone call to vans pulling away were polite and professional.I would not hesitate in recommending them myself.
Efficient work and very professional ,the engineer who came to install was very good and answered all the questions regarding how to work the thermostat. I would recommend any one wanting to install the boiler to use effective heating Ltd .
Great service, boiler supplied and installed as stated. Installation team very good and conscientious in undertaking the installation of the boiler. After care very good and liasing with company before and after boiler supplied was very good. Would recommend company and did a lot of checking up before accepting quote and pleased to say 'Which' recommendation helped in me selecting the company in the first place. The company representative when visiting my house was professional, he could answer my questions and most importantly advised what his company could do without being pushy. Not being pushy is very important to me and I was left to choose who I wanted to supply the boiler with out any hard selling from the company representative. I looked at 3 other suppliers at the same time but their guarantees and servicing costs were better. Very pleased with the boiler and company service.
Excellent knowledge, polite, friendly & a professional service all round with great after care
Great company ,their trademens were excellent very polite and nothing was too much trouble for them .they explained everything that they were doing and left everything clean when they had finished . Would highly recommend this company.
Very helpful staff from sales to the installation guys. More than happy with the price and products (boiler & radiators). I speak very highly of the device to friends and family. So once again thank you. Kind Regards Mark
Very fast from asking for a quote to full 1 day installation of new boiler, 1 replacement radiator and 1 new radiator being installed. 2 Courteous staff who worked late into the afternoon to finish the job in 1 day! Highly recommended!
Left numerous VMs about boiler. Never got a response. Have been sold the wrong boiler. We have a 4 bedroom house and can only have one tap going at a time. Takes ages for the water to heat up. Installers left mess and didn’t clean up. They moved loft installation and didn’t replace it back.
Arranged installation and guys turned up to then inform me they wouldn’t be able to install as the boiler we had picked, was too big, so nothing got done! After having a visit later that week from a technical engineer, he confirmed the boiler would fit, however we had to go back on the list and wait another month before we could have the installation! Eventually the boiler was installed and so far so good!
Fantastic work on installing my new central heating boiler Very pleased with the work Great set of guys that installed the system and very professional Would recommend and thanks!
Very professional company, no new boiler is without it's issues but any problems were resolved efficiently and diligently with a prompt install date and wonderful staff from the initial survey through to help with boiler controls. Ten year warranty on my new boiler and 0% finance. Will happily recommend!
My sister got this company to put in her new boiler, she payed them nearly £3000 and now a month later she still has no heating or hot water. Like £3000 was not enough they keep asking her to pay more and more for them to return and finish there work. All they care about is money!! Would never gire this company. Avoid at all costs. Please dont be fooled by the person tht comes out to do the survey acting all nice! All lies they speak. Didnt even take her water to be tested. *** AVOID.. AVOID... AVOID ***
On doing the survey the gentlemen was very nice and explained everything how they would fix the new boiler and take a water sample to get it tested and how on the day they would keep me updated on what they are doing etc. So I chose to go with this company, I then had to wait for 2 weeks for them to come out and install the new boiler, after me having to ring again n again for them come. When they did finally show up, the 2 guys I found soo rude they were walking around the house doing there own thing, I found myself having to walk around after them and constantly ask them what they will be doing and what are there plans to which there response was very little. Whilst fixing the new boiler they found that a pipe was leaking,so apparently they had to come out another day to finish of the work which I was told would be free of charge. Now I've got the pipe fixed and they want me to pay them more for them to come and finish off there job!!! A month later now after paying nearly £3000 I still have no hot water or heating!! I've got 2 young kids, what am I suppose to do. This company will non stop ripping you off, and asking you to pay more and more. I will never be using this company ever again, and will be spreading my experience with everyone.
I had a new boiler fitted in March 2018, after numerous visits to try to repair, I still have no working central heating system (it’s now nearly October 2018). Whilst everyone I have dealt with is very polite and helpful, albeit they are very slow at actually coming out to repair, the proof of the pudding is that I still don’t have a working central heating system 6 months after installation. I do live in North Wales which is along way from their base and this may have an impact in the delays, that said, I would have hoped that they would prioritise my case after such a long time but I get emails (phone calls are not returned) saying things like ‘we are very busy, it could be a couple of weeks before we can get to you’. My experience has not been great, the fact that the system is still not working 6 months after installation means that I have to give a one star. Hopefully it will get fixed before winter.
Terrible
Had an appointment but No one showed. Waited in all day. Very poor professionalism.
Effective Heating did a marvellous job. They were pleasant and got on with the job, never stopping until it was completed. We are totally satisfied in every aspect.
Thank you for the service. I will use again in future.
These guys spam with phone calls all day everyday scam company
