I needed to install a new Induction cooker after moving house. Yorkshire Electricians came over quickly, gave a quote, helped me understand my options, and kept in touch to organise installation when I ordered the appliance. The work involved installing a new higher amp circuit for the induction cooker, an isolation switch, and related work. On the initial phone call, they explained that the cost for such work would depend on my existing wiring and board. On their first visit they assessed the costs and discussed the layout. They worked with me for a solution that fit my needs. On the day they arrived promptly, planned the work, and carried it out to a high standard. During the work we identified a pair osockets dangerously located behind the cooker. They agreed to move this socket in addition to the rest of the work, costing the extra work resonably. The work was extremely clean, minimal to no dirt or damage. Very friendly and polite with both me and my partner. When an installed component was cracked, they worked to find a replacement immediately. Leaving the work at the end of the day in perfect order.

We had an electrical short and we figured we'd install a couple of dimmer switches while we're at it. Scheduling was easy and Simon quickly isolated and solved the short, He then replaced the switches in minutes. Highly recommended!

We are disappointed with Yorkshire Electricians Ltd. as they spent 6 hours at our home trying to find an electrical problem that was tripping our fuse but failed to identify the source of the issue. We brought in another company which systematically tested the 3 areas of our garden lighting and identified the problem by using a multi function tester which measures resistance. This seems to have been the best approach because it took 3 hours and the problem was solved. Yorkshire Electricians seemed to be at a loss throughout and were just employing a trial and error approach which of course was good for them as they were charging an hourly rate but very bad for me, the customer. I have refused to pay their bill and will never consider using them again.

Shaun and his team completed a full re-wire on my 1930s 5 bed house in 2 weeks. We couldn’t fault them. There was very limited plastering required, and no damage caused in a room with original oak wooden panels which was not a straightforward job. They did a stella job on time and left the house cleaner than when they started. I am arranging for them to come back to install outside lighting soon.

We had lights that did not work in our bedroom since we moved in. Had an engineer round from our insurance and basically tell us it was gonna be a huge job. Well it was a pretty big job in the end, lifting up carpets, underlay, chipboard flooring and insulation to get to the fittings from above, but despite arriving at 4:30, Simon stayed until the job was done and even offered look at something else afterwards for no extra charge. He was lovely, really helpful, explained everything he did, and wanted to charge us for 2 hours despite doing 2hrs 30mins labour but I insisted since he had been so good. Would use again, 5/5.

Yorkshire Electricians Ltd were absolutely fantastic when we had a fault on a Sunday afternoon which resulted in the freezer, other appliances and some lights not working when we were in the middle of cooking a large family meal. Shaun responded to our call immediately and gave us advice on the phone for things we could try ourselves . When we couldn’t resolve it, he came out less than an hour later on a Sunday evening and stayed until the fault was detected and fixed. We can’t thank him enough. I would highly recommend Yorkshire Electricians, they provided a fantastic service throughout. I had a long list of small bits of electricial work that needed sorting after moving house, and Shaun painstakingly went through the list (and offered advice) via WhatsApp before promptly providing a very reasonable quote. Simon carried out the work a week later, turning up on time and methodically working his way through the list (fixing sockets, changing light switches, fixing smoke alarms etc.) while minimising disruption and keeping things tidy. It really feels like the team take pride in their work and I was impressed by their professionalism throughout. I recently had Yorkshire Electricians out to install two extra sockets in a room for us. The worker was on time, polite, cleaned up after himself and - most importantly - was thorough in his checking of things which resulted in a referral to Northern Powergrid. Yorkshire Electricians also followed up with me to check that Northern Powergrid were doing what they were supposed to be doing, which was much appreciated. The minor works cert for the job was issued in a timely manner and the price was very reasonable for the work. Based on my experience, I would definitely recommend.

The service was great, with excellent communication before, during and after the visit. Shaun and Loren have great attitudes and are very professional, friendly, and helpful. Shaun explained the work needed in a clear but not patronising way, answered all my questions and gave sensible options and recommendations. Loren was a star. (A special call-out for running the cables through the really tight loft space!). Shaun and Loren are a fantastic team, highly professional and very polite and friendly, a pleasure to have around. Excellent, extremely high quality and competitive work, I couldn't recommend them more highly. They did an electricity installation check and then re-wired our 1880s terrace, and then a few weeks later took out an old electric shower. They were very clear and upfront with everything, providing itemised professional quotes (that in the end actually came in under budget as they managed to make some savings as they went) and clear advice - eg advising that we could wait to re-wire, and clearly going through the pros and cons to help us decide. Shaun went out of his way to fit us in, including working over the bank holiday weekend. We are not experts, but a friend who is an electrical engineer happened to stop by and said the work was exceptionally neat and done to a very high standard. They were very safety conscious and left everything very tidy afterwards. Shaun couldn't have been more helpful in talking us through the whole process and helping us to understand more about how our electrics work. He also gave some excellent recommendations for getting other work done. This made what could have been a really daunting process much easier to navigate. I was working alongside them on other things while they were doing the work, and always felt super comfortable - it was lovely to have the company! Especially for women living alone and LGBTQ+ customers they are a fabulous firm and a lovely and super respectful and friendly team.

Shaun installed four German electric radiators for us. Sounds simple but the key to this was the care and attention that Shaun took at the first step. When he came round to assess the job he really grasped the nature of the challenge: not just to fit the rads, but to do so in a way that made it look as though they really belonged in the room.
