I’ve had a few bits of work done by Farthing and can comfortably say I can’t recommend James and Harry highly enough. Have had experience with a couple of different electricians over the years and they’ve been the best by a long way. Also love that they have a properly staffed office, which makes it so much easier to book in work than previous experiences of having to text someone while they’re busy with jobs and hope you get a reply. James helped us out recently with an EICR as part of a home move. Professional and courteous, he went out of his way to fit us in at short notice, and carried out a full and thorough check on the property, which highlighted a few issue to us that we would otherwise have been unaware of. We will absolutely be getting him back in to carry out the work once the sale goes through. We would also have no hesitation in using Farthing Electrical for any future work that we require.

Paid £1500 for replacement of around 30 lamps. When James and Matt attended they initially installed lamps of the wrong specifications. I had requested the lamps to have a temperature of 3000k rather than 4000k. They had to come back a different day and replace the lamps with the correct ones so wasted my time. Around 18 months down the line, one of the lamps fails. Despite the 24 month warranty, James refuses to send me a lamp replacement of the same specification. Ends up sending me one with higher wattage and wider beam angle, which is inconsistent with the others in the room. Room now looks awkward and brighter in just one part like a spotlight. James tells me I should contact the manufacturer Bell for a replacement lamp instead of him despite familiarising him with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 he has breached (https://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/regulation/consumer-rights-act-aKJYx8n5KiSl#who-should-you-claim-against). Disappointing that I've paid James £1500 for this fairly straightforward work and he has failed to honour his warranty and the Consumer Rights Act. A lamp costs around £5, clearly £1500 was not enough for James. Recommend people avoid if they want someone who will keep their word regarding the warranty

We received a written quotation that day and were booked in that week. Turned up on time and went above and beyond by replacing a light fitting too. Thoroughly recommend James and his team. Farthing Electrical installed a new mesh wi-fi system and access points in my home. The whole process was professional, from booking all the way to completed job. James and Harry were polite and friendly. Highly recommended.

I wanted to change from a gas built in oven to electric. After the disconnection by gas safe i contacted Farthing Electrical. The office booked me in for a video call the same day. From that call and doing a video tour we agreed James would visit to test oven circuit. Visit was a couple of days later when circuit tested, and location for main oven switch identified. James noted would also create spur for cooker hood. We then arranged installation date when James fitted main oven switch and installed cooker hood spur, then installed oven. James also changed a couple of electrical sockets from white to silver, and a light fitting. All done efficiently and professionally. Good communication throughout and James professional and nice guy - very happy with way job was done. Would recommend 100%

James and the team put a lot of time and effort into my 3 metre extension with complete new fuse board, lighting circuits and new kitchen appliances whilst having to deal with the Covid pandemic. Fabulous Service! I called James to ask him to install a Defibrillator at Box Trees Centre, he arrived the next day and installed it free of charge as a goodwill gesture. He was here for at least 2 hours and insisted that he wouldn't take payment for installing it as it might save a life. I have never met James before but will certainly recommend him and use him in the future.

I recently used farthing electrical to carry out some work. I need extra sockets to be installed and underfloor heating to be connectes up. Jim transformed our kitchen and bathroom by sorting the lighting out for us with minimal disruption despite having to re-do a previous electricians poor job. Couldnt reccomend enough, great service and great price and all done in a day.
