I contacted HB electrical for a quote for additional plug socket installations in which they responded very promptly. Jasmine was absolutely lovely over the phone explaining how the work is completed and telling me about other services their company can provide. I had Harley come to do the job on the same day and he did everything I’d asked for within a couple of hours, and left everything very clean and tidy. From start to finish the comms with HB have been great. Very clear and friendly. Dave came today to move 2 light fixtures for me, in old lath and plaster ceilings so I was expecting a bit of a mess but everything was finished to a great standard and tidied up afterwards. We hit a couple of bumps in the road with beams being in the way but Dave talked me through the options so I still ended up with what I was after. Great job. Will certainly use for my next job

We originally contacted Harry for an EICR on a property we were purchasing. From the outset, he was responsive, professional and incredibly helpful. The house ultimately needed a full renovation, including a complete rewire, a knock through, ceiling plastering, new radiators, two bathroom refits, a kitchen install and wood flooring install. Harry and his team have worked incredibly hard, and carried out all of this work to a really high standard. Every single member of the team was polite and professional, and we were really happy to have them working in our house over the last few months. In particular, Colin and Baz were amazing - they worked so hard to install our kitchen and bathrooms to a quality finish, and were so easy to get on with we actually miss having them around now they've gone! Ultimately, HB Electrical made renovating this house a much less stressful process than it could have been. The work was completed exactly as requested, and in a really collaborative way so that any tweaks we wanted to make along the way were taken on board and implemented. Harry has been amazing at organising the various tasks, fitting everything in despite the team's busy schedule, and is so quick to respond and address any questions and concerns. Thanks to HB Electrical, we've got the house feeling like a proper home in time for Christmas, which we really weren't expecting given the timescales. And we'll definitely be using them again for the next phase of the renovation!

HB Electrical did the rewire of our new house. This was the first time we have had to do work to this scale on a property and Harry and his team were amazing throughout. Not only is the house now set up how we wanted, but they did a brilliant job at cleaning up afterwards and the plastering work is excellent. Excellent service, we got the team out to do an electrical safety certificate first and they found a number of problems. HB Electrical quickly quoted for remediation work and fitted us in the following week. They went above and beyond, even finding a replacement part instead of refitting a whole unit saving £100s! He talked everything through - making suggestions - and was clear overall with his pricing. He was very communicative throughout. His team were polite and tidy - and left the house in a good state. Full Rewire - I’ve used HB three times now, this time for a full rewire of the house including all new power, lighting, external sockets and relocating the consumer unit to the garage. Harry always has really good comms and is helpful with suggestions and detail, and is very clear with his quotes so you know exactly what is expected. After an initial quote, Harry came to the house to have a good look around before confirming exactly how it would all work. The team completed the job really quickly and I would definitely recommend them!
We used Harry and his team for our 1930s rewire earlier this year and were very happy with his work. Since then, we have had a few changes to some internal walls that required a couple of switches to be changed and wires extended. We knew there was only one person to call! Can’t fault the work and the price was reasonable too!

Had a bathroom extractor fan replaced with a new 12v SELV as had alot of damp issues. It was quick to get a quote and they came out within a few days and fitted it. Had a slight mix up with the model/supply but when it was discovered they were back within a day to rectify the issue. I will use again for any future works

I used this firm on two occasions this month, to fit four ceiling light fittings, two mains smoke alarms and to replace/upgrade light switches and sockets throughout the whole house. On both occasions the electrician was on time, friendly, professional and respectful (removing shoes without being asked). The work was completed quickly and to a high standard. Harry and his team recently rewired our house and we are really pleased with the work they did. We had concerns about the electrics in the house we had just bought and Harry came round to do an electrical safety test. He was very friendly and helpful. He talked through different options we could choose to sort out the issues. There was no pressure to go for a full rewire and he also expained cheaper/ less invasive options we could go for instead. Harry and his team rewired our first home – a mid-terrace Victorian property. It’s a refurbishment project and Harry was really helpful in explaining all the steps for us and coming round to plan where things would go. We wanted the option to add things later on, a heat pump, some solar panels and some bits in the kitchen and Harry was able to incorporate these elements so that they could be added later. Harry and the team were excellent. We decided to have a full rewire of our 1930s house and while we were there had a new kitchen circuit, extra sockets, lights and solar cabling installed. Harry was a great communicator and really accommodating to the fact we needed to keep costs down. We chased and filled all holes ourselves and harry was helped guide us on how to do it. The team were similarly great to work with, got the job done quickly and flexible to some of our last minute requests. If you take anything away from this review know that HB did a fantastic job, on time & budget, gave me a fair price, and the crew is really easy to work with. This is a rare combo when fishing from the sea of contractors, but I had the added stress of finding out mid reno project that I needed a complete redo of all home electrics! The other recommendations from friends had lengthy lead times. HB was also actively working on other projects, but after talking through my situation and details of the property, Harry was able to shift his crew around between local work to help me out on short notice. At every step the crew was friendly and always took time to explain what was happening. My next door neighbors commented that the crew was busy and on point all day. Harry gave great insight of options, and helped avoid some unnecessary costs for a few switch & lighting decisions that turned out weren't a high priority for us. Special shout to Harley who was on site each day from first chase to final switch, and I even spotted picking up cable waste around the house by hand before starting up the day's work. I was in a real pinch, a bit desperate, and an easy target to sock with a huge quote and "added" expenses. Instead I got really good work at a good price, with minimal impact on project timeline, and a very pleasant experience - HB made a stressful time a little easier. I also found a company I will call back next time I need pro sparky work and would recommend to anyone.

Harry and Dave installed the new Zappi Glo EV charger at my home. Was going to go with Octopus Energy but the lead time was 3 weeks, Harry and team came in a couple of days. Excellent service from HB Electrical. A fiddly complicated job involving two new dedicated electrical supplies to install a dual combination cooker and and an armoured 30m cable to provide light and power to an outside shed. Harry in charge was very responsive to my enquiries, willing to take time to talk through the work, and even made concessions within the cost to allow me to do basic preparations myself. On the day three engineers, Dave, Sam and Adam arrived early and were all very competent, polite and professional. The workmanship was of a high standard and with minimal disruption to the property. Harry was also able to co-ordinate an excellent gas registered plumber on the same day to complete the installation of the new cooker. I particularly liked the due care and attention taken in laying the armoured cable through the garden and with no damage to the plants or flowers. The installation of the lights and sockets in the shed area were top notch and as requested appliances were installed with more of an industrial feel. Really liked the retro metal consumer box. Excellent service from Dave who was super polite and did a great job. Always leave everything tidy. Extended the outside electrics which wasn’t easy as he had to get through some large bushes. He also as fitting a fuse panel, new lights and dimmer to one of the bedrooms which looks fabulous. Definitely recommend.

We chose HB electrical for our EICR when buying our house after a speedy response from Harry and competitive pricing. The positive experience led us to using HB electrical for our rewire in November which we were unsure we needed but so glad we did!! They were able to add additional sockets, data cabling, replace light fixtures and add in an Aircon power supply in our 4-bed property before we moved in. Harry put us at ease and was also flexible with the dates after a few hiccups with our completion date. During the rewire, the team were polite and professional and left the property in a clean state before we moved in. Harry came over and listened to my specifications and then worked up a quote, which was competitive and reasonable. Harry and the team carried out a full rewire on our newly purchased home. During the initial survey they identified some things that weren’t safe and made sure the house was safe before leaving. Following the survey it was determined a full rewire was needed. They completed the work in great time to a high standard and doing other bits of work whenever we had questions. Harry and team recently rewired our 1930s house. Within weeks of initial contact, Harry lined up a team to complete the majority of work prior to Christmas, with the remaining work completed in the 3 weeks following. The team were efficient and flexible in accommodating all our requests, and we are really pleased with the end result. Rough mix plastering from Colin and Charoz was completed shortly after electrical work had started. WOW! Harry and his fabulous team truly are amazing and I would recommend without hesitation. I cannot overstate how worried I was about having this work done (full rewire of a reasonably sized 1930s end terrace), especially after being ripped off in the past by a roofer. Harry was an absolute legend from step one, working with me to ensure I was totally comfortable with all steps of the process and going out of his way answering lots of random messages. The work was booked in really quickly, ensuring I am completely safe and sound for Xmas and boy what a team - a veritable army of electricians appeared at my house and they got the whole thing done in a smidge over half the anticipated time! Had a couple of new sockets replaced plus light switches and new shaver socket and bathroom cabinet wired. Harry and his team were amazing, they kept me updated all through the process, they also advised that my fuse box did not have any surge protection on the sockets, so I arranged with them to update it. I asked if they could help with taking out an old wired alarm system, they were able to book me in, I also arrange for my outdated under cabinet lighting in my kitchen to be replaced at the same time. I just bought a house and it needed to be completely rewired. Harry made the whole process incredibly easy. He was able to fit in the job at short notice and he and his team did a fantastic job. The online portal Harry uses for the paper work makes that part both transparent and straight-forward. Great! His company offers a standard package for the rewire which you can customise as you need. After talking through basics on the phone, Harry came round to do a thorough walk through of all rooms to make sure that we had thought of all the things that needed taking care of and he even threw in a few extras for free. He also answered all my questions very patiently and without talking down to me just because I am a woman (and yes, that happened...) Once Harry's team started the work, he updated me right away on everything that needed my input via text message. The team finished the job as scheduled and Joe did the hand-over at the end to make sure everything was as I had wanted it. The work also came with all the proper certifications and a 5 year guarantee. All in all: excellent workmanship and customer service, very well organised, very reliable AND a competitive price, too. I'd been encountering an issue with the electrics in my garden office and garage and had bought a cheap socket tester which had shown an issue with its earth/ground connection. I'd seen HB Electrical recommended by multiple people on the local Facebook group so gave them a call. They told me they'd try for the end of the next day after their existing jobs but otherwise it would be the day after that. As it happened they weren't able to get there on that first day, but they kept me updated via text messages without me having to chase at all so the communication was good. The next morning the electrician turned up (after texting me to tell how far out he was first) and got straight to work diagnosing two distinct issues that were both contributing to the issue I'd observed. He was able to fix both of them, as well as explain exactly what the problems were and what he was doing to solve them, and was all done within an hour, including the time it took him to meticulously test each socket in my garage and office individually. Very happy. Would absolutely use them again.

HB Electrical have just done a full rewire and all the making good for us in our new house. We initially got Harry and his team to do an EICR for us when we were buying the house, and Harry was more than willing to answer any questions we had about the work required. We then got in touch again to do the rewire once we had moved and Harry met up with us at the house to go over things and again was happy to answer any questions. We moved out for the work to be done but whenever we popped in the guys doing the work were always very polite and asked when they weren't sure where we wanted something (we also had a whatsapp chat set up for this purpose, which was really helpful). It was much easier being able to get all the making good (plastering etc) organised by the same team and not having to find our own plasterer. Having our kitchen done at the same time has meant that we needed some extra plastering done and a floor screed laid which Harry was able to organise for us too, and the guys made a few trips back to finish the electrics off as the kitchen fitting progressed. Overall, using HB Electrical to do the full job has definitely made our lives easier and we would recommend them to anyone looking to do a rewire.
Work completed quickly/efficiently. Engineer was professional and friendly as well as trustworthy. Two jobs needed completing including one that required some investigation. Bathroom light pull cord/switch and kitchen wall switch swapped out for new, to resolve issues with lack of light in bathroom and lack of electricity to washing machine. Harry came to solve an issue with our wiring that was causing the circuit to trip. He successfully narrowed the issue down to one of our appliances, and thoroughly tested the fix. 2 months on and it seems his repairs solved the problem.

We called Harry when our electricity cut out, he came around that evening and provided a temporary fix to keep us going and to get the electricity back on as the issue was larger than expected. Harry then returned not long after with the rest of his team and within 2 hours had fixed the problem and we are now back to normal. We have a 7 month baby and the guys have been very accommodating around us, very professional and just generally good friendly guys. Harry has also provided us some advice on issues we need to get sorted in the future but has not put any pressure on us to get them done immediately which is really appreciated.
Hb Electrical came round to move a light switch. Simple job you would think, but no. The previous owners of the house had decided that the lighting circuit, and the switch we wanted to move, was the perfect place to power the garden electrics from, including a huge koi pond. Needless to say, the lights worked fine once the switch was moved, however all sorts of problems starting happening with the garden electrics which tripped the house out and left nothing working out there. Nothing to do with HB, but because the previous home owner had bodged the wires so well, even two trained electricians couldn't make head nor tail of wirey mess that was exposed once HB started trying to fix the problem. I myself have never seen so many cables in a single junction box that was under out kitchen sink! After a bit of out of the box thinking, power was again supplied to my ponds, this time the correct, safe way - not piggybacked off the back of my light switch, and all the lights were working fine with the 6 gang smart switch we had supplied. Thank you all for sorting my major mess out and not leaving me stranded without and power to pond when the problems were not yours to sort. Really appreciate the time and effort your boys put into this and thier dedication to make sure I was left in a suitable manner. Even suggested steps we take next to sort everything out properly after the mess the previous owners (who when we were buying provided sign offs that stated all electrical work was compliant....) left for us to find. See you all again soon when we start to tackle the rest of the electrical problems the previous bodger has left us to correct! We recently used HB Electrical to fit downlights in the living room and fit a few extra sockets. Harry replied extremely quickly over Christmas to my checkatrade request with a detailed estimate on price. He followed this up with a visit and the price quoted was similar. Harry was happy to book us in at very short notice and within about a week of requesting. There were a couple of hiccups with illnesses and previous jobs overrunning however Harry was great at communicating this at all times and kept us up to date. Sam and Adam did a great job over 2 days and we were very happy with the work performed and they were very polite. Harry quoted us the same day the job was finished for the make good work which was then booked in the next day for a very reasonable price. Again, Pete did an excellent job of the make good work and Harry was happy to follow up on this and come and check on the work. Final price paid was as quoted with no extras charged. Would definitely recommend and would use again.
Update on 02/02/2022 I thought I'd update this review now that HB Electrical have completed the work at my house. Per my original review, this was a huge job involving complete rewiring of my house, including installation of CAT 6 networking and CCTV points. Harry, Sam, Adam and others at HB Electrical have completed the job to a very high standard. There were a couple of outstanding bits in part due to other building works that were ongoing but Harry made sure everything was taken care of after the building works were done. It has been almost 3 months since the work was completed and everything just works. They've been as responsive to follow-on queries after the job and being paid as they were before. A+ all round for their workmanship and customer service. Book them for your jobs and you won't be disappointed. I couldn't be more happy with the service I have received from Harry and his team so far for a complete rewiring of my house! I had received much cheaper quotes from other companies for this job but decided to go with HB Electrical because of their professionalism and trustworthiness. Harry had helpfully visited the property to assess the electrical situation before I bought it, when other companies just messed me about. I'm super pleased that I made the right choice by sticking with HB Electrical. Sam, Reece, Harry Adam and others who've been working at the house have been great. I also found him and his team very professional. On all occasions Harry always messaged at the end of day to check if I was satisfied with the job carried out. Job was to get bathroom exhaust fan replacement and the driveway flash lights. The flood light which was installed turned faulty and stopped working within few weeks. Contacted HB Electrical to assess a kitchen light, they responded quickly and scheduled a visit. However, they discovered it was simply an issue with needing to use a different light bulb. They were very kind and didn’t charge for the visit! Thank you HB Electrical and I’ve now asked them to assist with another job.
I would highly recommend HB Electrical for their professionalism and great work standards. The price was agreed in advance and very reasonable. The work mainly consisted of installing new plugs, replacing light fittings and installing a new panel, all of which was carried out quickly and to a good standard. The guys were very friendly and polite and a pleasure to deal with. 5 stars!

After a couple of false starts on scheduling, Dave came round to do a diagnostic on an issue with boiler tripping the RCD. Thorough examination of the boiler and tank circuits and most probable issue identified. Now just need the plumber to do his bit !

Harry & his team have been enthusiastic, very efficient & hard working from the beginning. Not only have they been doing a great job from the start, neat & tidy wiring, they have given us some good & helpful ideas along the way to improve our project. Even with changes being made during the 1st fix schedule, they have been very accommodating in fitting us in at short notice for the adaptations we required & even working later into the evenings to get these works done, so as to not hold up other trades. Looking forward to having them back for the 2nd fix phase.

More great service from Harry and his team. After a rewire we had a problem with a socket, caused by another contractor. Harry sent a guy over the same day and got it fixed. Not only that but he tested every other socket upstairs and ensured they were working okay. Highly recommended!

Having fitted a couple of light fixtures myself, I encountered a fitting with multiple cables that just didn't make sense to me. After spending a couple of hours on Google trying to figure it out, I admitted defeat and picked up the phone to Harry. Harry was incredibly professional, prompt and polite and solved the problem quickly, correcting the less than adequate work left behind by the new build electrician who had appeared to wire things in a rather unorthodox way. Harry kindly offered to check my other fittings just to put my mind at ease and was extremely friendly throughout. My only frustration is that I didn't call Harry sooner!
Harry came and installed an extractor fan in my bathroom where there hadn't been one previously. Harry did a good job, was friendly and easy to talk too, and completed the work on relatively short notice. I would definitely recommend him to anyone else needing a similar job.

I would warn you to think twice before hiring this company to do any work on your home. They are very messy, careless-no regard for your home and most of all, they are unprofessional. I wish i had taken heed to the reviews on Checkatrade, i would've saved myself a lot of headache!
