Failed to correctly diagnose fault or fully rectify issue, charge £180, exact same fault returned 2.5 weeks later and was told it would be a brand new job and another call out charge 12-Mar - Electrician attended to investigate and rectify why my hot water cylinder was not receiving power. When the electrician put their multimeter on the contactor to test it, the whole system started working again. Electrician stated they were not sure exactly why it started working again and if it happens again to call and they will comeback. On-site max 30 mins. 30-Mar - I returned from holiday to no hot water. Contacted Lloyd to see if the electrician can return to investigate why the exact same fault has returned and was told it will be a brand new job and another minimum call out charge despite it being only 2.5 weeks after they attended. I was told the original charge was not for full diagnosis nor to fix the issue

I recently had Lloyd to replace some light fittings for me. Lloyd is a fantastic electrician, very friendly, knowledgable and puts the customer first. I’ll be using him for all future electrical work I have planned. 10/10 from me.

I have recently used Lloyd Hallowell Electrics to complete 2 EICR inspections and carry out work to remediate items that are unsatisfactory. The process to request a quote is easy and quick to follow. The communication from Lloyd and the team is excellent, work carried out is to a high standard and the electricians who come on-site are friendly and professional. Prices are competitive and quotes provided show a clear breakdown of items. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I hired Lloyd Hallowell Electrics to rewire a ground-floor extension, install ten sockets and carry out additional electrical work, including changing bulbs and other related tasks. We had written agreements that set out the scope of work and price. The company missed two confirmed start dates without notice; when I chased them, the electrician’s attitude was unfriendly and dismissive. During the installation several items were damaged and, shortly after completion, multiple sockets were loose (plugs would fall out) and a ceiling light began flickering and failed—issues that, in my view, indicate substandard and potentially unsafe work. After issuing an invoice consistent with the original quote, the company presented a second invoice for work I understood to be included under our written agreement; when I queried this they indicated the guarantee would not apply and a completion certificate was not provided. I paid the amounts they demanded to try to resolve the matter, but the installation remained incomplete and defective, so I engaged an independent qualified electrician to complete and certify the work and to correct defects—at further expense. In my opinion, Lloyd Hallowell Electrics demonstrated a lack of professionalism and accountability.

We ended up not having to book the services of Lloyd hallowell in the end but even so they have hands down been the best customer service and consultation we’ve ever received from any trade services. Next time we have any electrical issues we will have no hestitation in booking them!

Hired Lloyd Hallowell Electrics for a full house electrical survey (£360). The electrician didn’t allow enough time and had to return. After receiving the report, I contacted Lloyd to book the remedial work—he was polite at first, but then stopped responding entirely, despite no price haggling. I eventually had to pay another company to re-inspect and do the work. Unreliable service with unreliable communication.

Lloyd Hallowell completed an EICR for our new home - the report was incredibly thorough, professional and we were impressed by the level of customer service and communication they provided throughout. From my first interaction, Lloyd and his team have been responsive and helpful. They were able to take on my job of replacing a kitchen strip light really quickly and offered a competitive rate for the repair. I needed an electrical timer on an immersion heater uograded, and a switch elsewhere replaced. I was on a tight deadline and they went out of their way to help me get it resolved in time. Communication was great from start to finish, Alfred who came to complete the work was very friendly, polite and helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend this company and will use them again in future.

Lloyd is key to the business - we had regular conversation with him to match our needs and really valued his communication and dialogue. When the remedial work came back he was reliable and honest in terms of working out a safe but affordable solution for us so we could proceed with the work sooner rather than later. He constantly replied within the hour when we had questions and his colleagues Alfred and Matthew were top professionals who were really clean, friendly and considerate. I will be going with these guys again when we have more comprehensive work done in the future!

Lloyd and his team did an absolutely fantastic job at our property. The booking system is extremely easy to use and you have full transparency on who is coming to do the work and how they are getting on with the journey. Communication with Lloyd was excellent throughout. He was very quick with responses at all hours of the day (including weekends) and always went out of his way to provide very detailed explanations of what kind of work needed to be done, why they were recommending it be done a certain way, etc. He gained our trust from the very first interaction and we were never disappointed. In terms of the actual work carried out, we first had an EIRC done which highlighted a lot of remedial work required, as the property we recently bought had been somewhat neglected in that respect. We discussed the results with Lloyd and got a very fair and practical recommendation on which items were important vs nice to have. In the end we decided to take him up on most of the work and that required multiple visits, but all was carried out seamlessly. The finished work is to a very high standard and we are overall very happy and would wholeheartedly recommend Lloyd and his team.

Job was done professionally to a standard better than I could have done. Friendly, courteous and respectful throughout, cleaning up well afterwards. The online booking system was really useful too.

My experience with Lloyd Hallowell Electrics left much to be desired. The technician faced difficulties locating the wire next to the hob, resulting in a four-hour process. Some unnecessary holes were made in the wall during the process. While these issues were eventually addressed, they impacted the overall appearance. Both of which did not meet our expectations regarding the level of expertise. Furthermore, the cleanup in the cupboard was overlooked, and there was a preference for cash payment. Some time was spent on casual conversations, and the total cost for a basic connecting hob job with a certificate seemed high, considering no rerouting needed to be done. Regrettably, there were communication issues, including an unpleasant phone exchange and a subsequent threat after leaving a review. I would approach their services with caution.
