I can't grumble at the politeness of office staff . However there is constant miscommunication and appointments made without prior warnings, on the few occasions that appointments have actually been made with me the contractor has either attended the wrong address, not turned up or got the date wrong. There is a serious lack of basic organisation and communication within this company.
Unfortunately, we had the misfortune of having TCL Group contractors involved in major works to install a disabled wet room in our home. The entire experience was extremely poor, from start to finish. The workmanship was messy and substandard, time management was terrible, and there was a clear lack of understanding or consideration for the needs of a disabled person. Even the official SNG Stage 2 complaint acknowledged this: “I want to acknowledge that aspects of TCL’s conduct fell short of the professional standards we expect from our contractors. More care and attention should have been taken to understand and accommodate individual needs, and I appreciate the impact this had on both of you. I also recognise the significant frustration caused by the prolonged delays in sourcing a suitable shower door, alongside the further complications created by the floor levels, which resulted in water escaping into the bedroom, and ultimately through the kitchen ceiling.” The problems went far beyond delays. TCL’s workers stood on our household bin to reach a wall, then fell through the floor, breaking the floorboards. Instead of accepting responsibility, they denied the incident and falsely claimed the damage existed beforehand—despite my own photographic evidence proving otherwise. Their attitude throughout was sloppy and unprofessional. They were consistently late, communicated poorly, and took no responsibility for their mistakes. The fittings were equally poor; they installed a hand basin so small you can barely fit two fingers into it—and even that leaked. In short, this company demonstrated complete incompetence, a lack of honesty, and zero respect for the needs of disabled clients or the homes they work in. Do not use this company under any circumstances. If you value quality, professionalism, and accountability, steer well clear of TCL Group contractors.
Zero stars. This company has slap happy cowboy operatives working for them. Cannot get a job correct in first place and then couldn't finish the rework on second visit. Then when their office advise he will return, he doesn't and their own office cannot get hold of him. They admit that information was incorrect and then now they cannot return until Tuesday. There staff and customer service are rubbish. Wish I could give them less that 1 star
Had a toilet/ bath blockage and two workmen came and assisted within 3 hours as a housing emergency, they cleared it within 20 minutes, very polite and great workmanship to what the housing association used work with 3 months ago.
Contractors very good general maintenance etc.
External Fire Door Replacement Works Topcoat Construction Ltd T/A TCL Group I found this organisation to be very professional. The contractors were proficient and their tradesmen skilled and competent. The Administration staff were extremely helpful and efficient, first class from start to finish. I have have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this Company.
Appointment booked for 8am Wednesday 29th January 2025 confirmed by email. Awaited till 9am contacted office told would chase and call back, At 10am called office again to be told would chase and call back again called office at 11am to be told they would attend by 1pm surprise surprise No one Turned up. DO NOT USE.....
Man turned up with 2 year baby and said he couldn't get baby sitter. Appalling holding his child in one hand whilst trying to fix windows with other hand. What happened to health and safety. I thought wates were terrible but tcl now take that title. Manager of TCL said he was sat outside my property & no 2 year old was present. The CCTV says your a lier TCL..

The site manager, Martin Willis is very rude. I've been waiting to get my door painted for almost a year now. He claims that he tried to contact me "numerous" times, but this is a complete lie as I have a video doorbell. Very unprofessional, very slow. I would would not recommend this company.
Really friendly but professional bunch. Our project was completed on time despite all the Covid/Brexit issues encountered. We are delighted with our house renovation. Thank-you TCL Group.
TCL Group recently completed a Health Centre refubishment project for my client in the Essex area - within budget and to a good standard of workmanship. Site users impressed by cleaniness of work areas once opertives finished for the day.
I have used this company many times over the years. I have had nothing but very professional dealings with very understanding management. All work carried out to a very high standard. Very satisfied with all aspects that's why I have used them many times.
I can only say that TCL are the best company that I’ve ever dealt with. Professional in every respect. I’ll be using them again, without a doubt.
I recently asked TCL Group to attend my home to replaster two rooms, decorate and for other general home repairs. They were on time and completed the job within a decent time frame and to a high standard. They came prepared with all the correct tools and decorating equipment, leaving me with only the stress of supplying paint. I was quite pleased that they cleaned up really well after themselves, saving me the hassle of a chore. All in all, great service for a decent price. I will be asking them to come back and work on my outbuilding!
Had the pleasure of using TCL on one of our projects The fitted 3 bathrooms They were very professional from our initial contact with their office to the friendly and knowledgeable surveyor (chris) who attended They were always keen to ensure we were kept informed of the process and program and completed the projects on time and within budgets agreed The tradesmen sent were friendly, polite and highly skilled and took good care of the project and cleaned up every night (special thanks to steve) We would definitely use TCL in the future
Contractor's sent by TCL group are extremely unprofessional they make appointment and do not turn up at all. When they turn up with the wrong colour they would lie and say you made this choice
