I used BCS Electrics to supply and install a home EV charger after struggling to find a contractor who could satisfy the landlord’s requirements. Very happy with the job done.

I’ve been a customer of BCS Electrics for nearly a decade now – introduced to them with a previous company. Always professional and great at making sure the public was safe and the site secure. When I moved to a Leeds based food manufacturer, I took them with me, and they became our provider of choice. The environment was equally challenging in different ways – hair-nets, over-clothing and counting every item in their toolboxes to ensure that no foreign bodies could enter the food lines. Were they the cheapest? No, absolutely not. But I’ve always stood by the credo of “buy cheap, buy twice”. They were fair though, and if you want decent service, you have to pay a decent price. So, when I purchased a new house a month or so ago, and we discovered we needed a full re-wire, then it was BCS I turned to. All the other trades, I got 3 quotes – but for the electrics, I just contacted BCS. We watched as the house was ripped to bits, and all the 1980s wiring replaced. We came in at the end of the work to check things out, and give it a final inspection… and found a number of issues. In fact, there was a list of them. I was pretty dismayed, finding a whole bunch of snags that I didn’t expect from any company, let alone one with the reputation of BCS. So I took pictures, documented what I felt wasn’t up to specifications, and fired off an email to. Well, I sent in my email Sunday evening… by Monday 7am, I had a response from Dean Towers, the MD of the company. He apologised for the situation, and told me that he agreed 100% and asked me to leave it with him. He didn’t argue, didn’t try to turn it around, didn’t blame me for anything… but he also didn’t make promises or say anything I didn’t believe. Within 48 hours I think all but two of the issues had been sorted out. In my eyes, this is what sets BCS apart from the rest. To make a mistake is human. We all do it at some point or another. But to own your mistakes, and to make them right? That’s what turns a good company into a great one. Someone at the company looked at the job, and admitted that they weren’t happy with the service they’d provided, and said sorry. And then they asked for time to fix it – and they did. They turned around a bad situation, into a shining example of how to treat a customer when it’s gone slightly sideways… Do I wish there hadn’t been a bunch of snags? Of course… I certainly didn’t want to have to complain. But, we’re all human, and I don’t believe there’s any business on earth that hasn’t dropped a clanger at some point. But it’s how they deal with them when it has gone wrong that’s important – and BCS couldn’t have done any better in my eyes. And that’s why, I’m to my new company or any of my friends in the area… that’s why I’ll still be recommending BCS, without hesitation. They’ll do the job, and they’ll do it right, 99.9% of the time, and if they make a mistake, they fix it.

On instructing BCS to conduct electrical work at our local cricket club the whole process has been simple. From the initial survey to the installation the team have been professional and reliable. The work carried out is to the highest standard with minimal disruption to the running of the club. I would highly recommend Dean and his team at BCS
