Very happy with small jobs Steve has recently carried out for me. Involved supplying and fitting 4 ceiling pendants plus kitchen strip light and 2 light switches. All carried out exactly as agreed, cheerfully and efficiently. Have used Steve before and will be happy to use him again for any future electrical requirements.

I had a noise coming from my fuse box and needed this checking out. Steve was very prompt to reply to my message, and his communication was very efficient. Steve made time to come out to have a look at the fuse box the next day. He arrived exactly at the time he said he would and was very knowledgeable. Despite an initial delay between his quotation visit and receiving a quotation, once Steve arrived I knew we had made the right decision waiting for him to complete the work. He is polite, friendly and considerate - he always made sure the door was shut if going outside to make sure our house cat didn’t escape. He changed several plug sockets, light fittings, installed an outdoor socket and also moved plug sockets to a preferable location in our bedroom. He works to an extremely high standard and even hoovered up after himself! We will now be using Steve for all our electrical work.

Thorough investigation completed on all the electric wiring and sockets in the house with no stone left unturned in identyfing any possible faults. Full explanations given as the work was completed and all of oir questions were answered.

EICR Report not received 5 months after work done. I requested a domestic EICR report for my house and at the end of Jan Steve carried out a day’s testing. On the day Steve was prompt, professional, knowledgeable and friendly and changed a couple of faulty switches as part of the service. So far, so good. I was told the report would take a few days to write up but chased after a couple of weeks and got the response “not sure what has happened here, let me look into this and get back to you”, 6 weeks after the appointment. 2 chases later and the threat of refund request eventually led to “…sincere apologies… get this resolved for you as quickly as possible”, but 8 weeks further on and still nothing through, despite having my email, phone number and only being 5 minutes drive away. Maybe settling the invoice up-front as requested and in good faith left no incentive to follow up? FWIW I’d much rather have the report than leave a bad review but at no point has Steve proactively emailed or just picked up the phone with an update or explanation on why either the report never reached me, wasn’t completed, or why the pdf(?) can’t just be found and attached to an email.
An excellent service. Good, prompt communication throughout. Steve is extremely professional, polite and friendly. On this occasion we just needed a faulty socket replacing, but I would definitely use Steve again in the future.

Steve Palmer has done electrical work on my property several times and I can confirm his work is always to a high standard. Most recently, he helped me identify a fault on my plug socket circuit that has eluded 2 other electricians. This is in no small part due to his thoroughness and sheer determination. Steve always puts his customer’s needs first. I can’t recommend him highly enough.
Steve at JPS Electrical Services was just amazing. My dishwasher broke 3 weeks before I was due to move house. So time and money were issues for me. He took the time out of his working day to answer my questions and to explain (very much in laymen’s terms as I was clueless) a few things I could do to establish whether I did in fact need an electrician or an appliance engineer. He eventually was able to tell me it was an engineer that I needed and that he was happy I had been able to establish that without being charged. Very very kind, genuine and generous indeed and as a result I would absolutely use him in the future. I am very lucky it was Steve at JPS that I chose to contact and not someone who might have come out and charged me only to tell me I needed an engineer. Amazing service!! Thank you!!

We made an appointment for him to come and quote; he turned up on time, very quickly sent me a quote for 2 jobs (one of which he did the next morning as he said it was so quick) and had done the work within a couple of weeks. The other job was a light with a foreign fitting and he knew exactly what he was doing and did it really well. His work is great quality and his customer service is fantastic - with follow-up work and feedback - really, really helpful. Absolute dream to deal with. Responsive to email, had efficient systems for quoting, choosing a time, changing the time slot when needed and even a 30-minute notice message when Steve was on his way. Quick repair - had correct parts in the van - and talked me through what he'd done afterwards so I could fix it myself next time. If only all services were this efficient!

Steve has come out to our house twice now and we wouldn’t approach anyone else for future works. Recently Steve installed a number of extra double sockets in bedrooms, centralised the ceiling light fitting, installed a wireless switch for the light fitting, and installed new and efficient lights out in our garage. He worked efficiently and cleanly and we’re extremely pleased with the results! Steve is very approachable and was brilliant with our 4 yr old who was keen to see what was being done (but a bit shy!). Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend JPS Electrical to anyone.

I contacted Steve to fit some lights in our hallway including one complex light which needed rewiring hanging from a hook in the ceiling into our stairwell. Steve was super helpful from the minute I first contacted him. My knowledge of electrics is very limited so Steve came over to understand exactly what I wanted & to check the fittings I had ordered to make sure I had everything that was needed. On the day of fitting, Steve did a great job. He was really tidy & followed social distancing. We’ve been using JPS Electrical Services for the last two years since we moved into our new property. Steve is professional, honest and trustworthy. And manages to deliver services in a timely manner and at times has been able to accommodate in a short turnaround/ at the weekend when it’s been more urgent. We’ve had jobs such as cables being chased into walls, new sockets, cooker being wired in etc. Electrical safety certificate and report. As I’ve not always been present during the work being carried out he has sent me detailed photos to demonstrate the work he’s done and to show everything is working. JPS Electrical Services delivers great customer service every time and I appreciate the follow up emails with certificates (if necessary) and invoices with an easy to pay web link. I will continue to use Steve as my electrician and would highly recommend him to anyone else looking for one!
I’ve called Steve afew times for electrical issues. This time Steve was super helpful with my dodgy smoke alarms. He was quick to respond so I didn’t have to contend with that awful chirping sound. He is always friendly and professional. I won’t hesitate to call him again.

Steve totally saved us. We woke on a Friday morning to find all downstairs sockets not working. A frantic search later I was lucky enough to find Steve. First thing is Steve's top priority was to make sure my family and I could sort out the situation - which had taken out our kitchen and boiler (so no hot water). Throughout the work he did he was completely committed to sorting out the situation we found ourselves in and managed his work to allow us to get the boiler working so we could bathe our young kids. Next is that Steve was focused on helping solve the problem. Before he came around and did anything chargeable he took time to help me go through everything that I could do myself to try to get to the route of the issue and solve it. Ultimately I wasn't able to get to the bottom of the issue, but that meant Steve didn't have to go back over the simpler fixes and could get straight to the more involved work. The quality of Steve's work was top - he's obviously the type of person who takes pride in doing a good job and doing it properly. Finally - Steve's attitude was absolutely fantastic. Positive, friendly and committed to getting the job done. He was a great communicator, letting us know exactly what was going on and what he was doing. Thoroughly recommend if you have electrical work that needs doing. Thank you Steve!
I had an emergency (so I thought) issue with one of my circuit breakers not turning back on, which had left me with no hot water (boiler was connected to this circuit), no fridge and no upstairs lights. 20 minutes after calling, Steve was at my house checking possible problems. He identified the issue (a wet outdoor socket), capped it off and explained what he'd done. Honestly, I couldn't recommend Steve of JPS highly enough. Super efficient, knowledgable – very well-priced – and a genuinely nice guy to top it off! I'll only be using JPS for anything electrical moving forward. Thank you, Steve!
