⭐ 1 Star – Confirmed Appointments Ignored After I Travelled Long Distance Twice This experience was so frustrating and disruptive that it needs to be documented. I booked this tradesman to fix a door lock and carry out a few minor repairs at my property. On both occasions I made it absolutely clear over the phone that I was travelling a considerable distance specifically to meet him. I politely explained my situation and asked for reliability because of the long journey involved. He acknowledged this and confirmed he understood. On the first day, he arrived late and, more concerningly, did not have the correct tools to complete the job. After inspecting the lock, it was clear that a drill and proper extraction equipment were required. He did not have them, so no work was completed. My entire trip that day was wasted due to lack of preparation. We rearranged for the following morning. Again, I explained that I was travelling far and needed a firm time commitment. He confirmed an arrival window of 10:45 to 11:00 and reassured me he would be there. On the morning of the appointment, while I was driving, I kept him updated on my ETA. He confirmed he was on his way. I arrived before the agreed time. He did not. I called several times. No answer. Messages were not returned. After repeated attempts, he finally answered and stated he was at another job and did not know when he would be able to attend. This was despite having confirmed earlier that he was on his way. He had clearly taken another job during a confirmed time slot. When I expressed my frustration — after travelling long distance for the second consecutive day — his response was dismissive. Instead of taking responsibility or offering a solution, he told me to go and find someone else and cancelled the job. The most disappointing part is that he was fully aware of my travel situation on both days. I communicated politely and clearly. He understood. Yet he still chose to be unprepared on the first visit and unreliable on the second. This resulted in two wasted journeys, significant inconvenience, and complete disruption to my schedule. Reliability and communication are basic professional standards. In this case, neither was demonstrated. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this tradesman to anyone who values their time.
