Absolute scam. Took a payment of £849 to do our drop kerb and not had a response since. I have been chasing them from August 2025 and no answer or reply. Avoid this company.

I paid for a drop kerb which was never carried out. After repeated attempts to resolve this directly, I received no response and no refund. I have since contacted Citizens Advice Bureau and Action Fraud, notified my bank of the scam, and escalated the matter formally with a recorded escalation letter/email sent. Despite all of this, there has been no response or communication whatsoever. Just after sending my stage 2 letter I got a reply from company. Extremely disappointed with the lack of accountability and professionalism Very miss-leading company this is. Massive waste of my time out of my life. Avoid these people.

Fantastic experience, the work carried out by Jonathan and his crew was outstanding, very courteous and polite lads that worked in absolutely hideous weather to finish the job on time, the work itself was outstanding and my wife and I are very pleased with both the dropped kerb and the parking area. Could not recommend them any more, brilliant company.

Jonathan is a thief! Do not use this company! They were very quick to offer competitive price and claimed to do the work in 1, max 2 days. Paid £300 deposit and haven’t heard back for a week! Have been calling company numbers, leaving messages, emails and finally Marc got back to me saying the person I spoke to originally has left the job and information I was given was incorrect. Eventually they agreed on a survey date but Jonathan cancelled 2 hours before! Another survey another week later but it was just to give me a catalogue ( he forgot his equipment so couldn’t measure ) and tell me to choose the samples I like and they were to be delivered next working day. Another 2 weeks has passed and still no samples. Chased and chased and finally Emailed Jonathan saying I want a refund and he is not the man for the job, he asked me to give him another chance which I did and oh boy I regret it. A month after I paid the deposit I had no samples and no date for the work to be done. I ordered free of charge samples directly from the catalogue they gave me but already knew this wasn’t the company I can trust or work with. Their samples eventually arrived and they have sent the quote for the ones I picked. I Asked for a refund and was told by Jonathan it’s not a problem it will take 14-28 days. On day 25 I texted him again asking for my money back as it’s 1 week before Xmas and I was patient enough. He then said he will send it on day 28 but only if I send his 9 samples I selected back. I told him I was never informed I needed to send it back, this was never mentioned in person, text or email and anyone can order them for free anyway, but he insisted. I said this experience with his company has been so terrible I will leave him a negative review, he replied he doesn’t respond to blackmail! I then told him to come and pick his 9 free samples up and give me my money but he said since I cancelled the project I need to return them to their office in Reading! Or they can take the cost of the samples off the refund and start a new 28 day refund process all over again! So I have contacted him 5 times asking for a time and date samples drop off and.. nothing, not a single reply. The entire experience is an absolute joke, the most unprofessional, dishonest, pitiful, embarrassing, childish and spiteful company I have ever dealt with and with the huge house renovation I had my fair share of tradesman. No communication, no follow up and then of course stealing my deposit!!!! So to sum up, trust me you don’t want the hassle, go to the people who know what they are doing both work wise and customer service wise. Do not employ Jonathan, he is a thief and a scammer.

On Friday at around 4 30 one of your drivers almost hit some pedestrians. He then proceeded to get aggressive. This was an area with children 2. I will provide more information if you want it. But this is not acceptable.

Effortless service, I contacted 3 companies for our drop curb, they provided quick response, quick visits for quote for our driveway. No pushy salesmanship… quote provided, easy payment via PayPal. They sorted all the council licences no fuss out side. All done as promised on dates given. No issues, great work and exactly what you pay for. Would recommend

From the first phone call with Jonathan I was blown away by how professional he was. Arrived on time to view our drive and knew what we needed from WB council. Today Adam and Lewis arrived and in one day they transformed our drive better than I could have imagined! Not only did they do an incredible job they were polite, friendly,professional and very hard working. Living on a very narrow road they never hesitated to move there van at least 20 times for our neighbours and with a smile. I will not hesitate to recommend Southern Driveways Ltd as they were professional from beginning to end and fairly priced for the job they did in one day. Incredible thank you so much 😁

Very pleased with the job, the drive looks excellent. Cannot fault the workmanship, Jonathan was on hand every step of the way, kept us informed of progress and even found an old well in the middle of the drive! We would thoroughly recommend them as a company, very reasonable price too ! We found a choice of bricks which were ordered especially at no extra cost. Thank you again to Jonathan and the team.

I called this company to do my Drop curb driveway and Patio as we needed a complete referral after our Property extension I must say dealing with Jonathan from start to finish was fantastic the work was agreed started on the agreed time kept to quotation and kept us up-to-date through the complete process even helped me with planning permission for Drop cab which was nice because I never had no understanding of the process. All of the team was very polite. On time project it was kept clean at the end of every day very pleasant experience. I cannot thank you all enough. Jonathan did a do curb for me in High Wycombe. He organised the relevant permits and kept me informed of what was happening. He turned up when he said and completed the job to a good standard.

After going through the red tape of getting permission for a drop Kerb..we chose Southern driveways as they..(Mark) came over to measure and tell us what they can do (very polite)..then about 6 weeks down the line Johnathan and his merry men turned up about 8.15am on the day and were finished by 12.15pm..heavy showers were forecast but it held of till they went when it throw it down which was a good thing as it cools the tarmac...Cant fault them worked away all the time and well pleased with the result would recommend Souuthern Driveways to anyone wanting drop Kerb work..10/10 from me

They were very professional, easy and clear. The only thing im not 100% happy is I didn’t have any warning about I was responsible for clearing the road the day before so I got an extra charge, but to be honest they work so well that I didn’t mind. Very happy.

We had Jonathan and his team do our dropped kerb for us today and we are really happy with the result. Jonathan and his team were really helpful and professional throughout the process and even filled out the licence application for us which we really appreciated. I would not hesitate in recommending him and would definitely use them again if I needed to.

Still waiting for job to be finished after 3 months (driveway and dropped kerb). Emails from us not being answered. Unfortunately I paid in November. Disappointed. Dec 2023 (10 months later) Southern Driveways have replied below. I would like to add to my review that we sent many emails asking for the dropped kerb to be completed as per the agreed job. We subsequently contacted a different company who got the permission easily and did the dropped kerb with no trouble.

They came, they did the dropped curb, and they went. And all looks great right now.

7 Year Guarantee worthless as company do not honour it!! Jonathan & his team paved our driveway and patio area along with re-laying our lawn in June 2019. Although initially happy with their work, the grout on the patio has crumbled and sunk (appears that the wrong mix was used), despite many emails & phone calls to Jonathan, he hasn't offered to visit us to address the issue! The 7 years guarantee is completely worthless if the company issuing it do not honour it!! VERY disappointed!

We had an old drive removed and the site prepared and then relaid with a perfect drive. Then the drop curb was tidied up and the whole thing is perfect:) Brilliant service from first contact to last brick laid! Very available for calls and advise. Needed a Patio completely relayed with Indian sandstone slabs . I am very particular when it comes to standard of work and attention to detail . And I must say the Jonathan and his team did everything that was asked of me . Really happy with end result.

From initial survey through to completion with the rectifying of defective sub-base and relaying of our Block Paving to our 30 vehicle Car Park we received an excellent professional service carried out with a polite and helpful workforce. We requested Southern Driveways Ltd to drop the kerb at our property in late 2019. Jonathan met us on site and was very polite, walking us through everything and explaining that it's usually around a few months to complete, depending on the council; which is entirely acceptable and understandable. We put down a cash deposit. Then the issues started. We have 3 of their contact numbers, and 2 email address. Getting in touch has been a nightmare from the get-go. Contacting all of these numbers has rarely got us anyway, which the other end only picking up on 2 occasions to this day. The emails are not much better, we typically have to send around 2-3 emails and a string of voicemails before we ever get a response. We were told in early 2020 that the council rejected some work and that they could re-apply, which we accepted. After months of no response, no work, no information, and countless attempts to reach out, we finally decided to just cancel the work. We were told that they can do the refund, minus the submission fees. That wasn't a problem with us, but naturally wanted to see evidence of the submissions and rejection information as evidence that progress was made. The second we asked for this, we have not received any contact at all. We have escalated this to a claim through the Money Claim Gov service, and they still won't response. Absolutely disgusted. It would appear that the plan from the start was to simply take our deposit, do none of the work, tell us it was rejected, then keeps as much as they can. Luckily we have a security system to capture the provision of cash payment, and a number of witnesses. Please do not be fooled by this companies positive reviews.

Jonathan, George and the team did a thorough and professional job for us and have transformed the area of the garden designated Phase 1. Their input and advice as regards the original design proved invaluable. Suffice to say that we have now commissioned Phase 2 from Southern Driveways.
