LABS Building Services Ltd

Some more work just done by LABS and they were as professionally excellent again.

This company is very good, very professional and very reliable. I needed advice and guidance concerning a problem with my cellar. Phil and work colleagues indeed identified the problem and provided expert guidance in how to rectify. Thank you Phil and Co.

Having just bought my first home, I was worried about contracting work as I am out of my comfort zone. LABS explained everything clearly, they provided helpful advice about several issues that they did not feel needed further work. They highlighted the damp problem in the living room as the main concern and set out a plan to fix it. The work has been completed to a high standard, they sent me regular updates and videos to explain how things were progressing. They have cleaned up afterwards and even replaced my curtain pole which was completely unexpected. Cannot recommend highly enough - thanks for everything :)

LABS converted our cellar into a beautiful habitable space and were very efficient and kept us informed of progress at all times. They went beyond the original quote and repaired damage to the pavement where the vent entered our property. They also repaired damage that they had not caused to paving stones in our garden as a gesture of goodwill. I highly recommend them and would certainly use their services again.

We had LABS waterproof our basement earlier in the year. Communication, starting from the initial quote to completion, has all been excellent, explaining everything clearly and answering any queries we had. The trades and management team were all really professional. The work has been done to a high standard, transforming our damp coal cellar into a really good utility and storage space. Would recommend!

We had a great job done for us by LABS. Phil explained the possible options in non-technical terms and there was no pressure for us to opt for the more expensive job. We have got exactly what we wanted and all the workers on the team were pleasant, friendly and very considerate including removing all the debris, which in our case had to go out through the kitchen. We’d definitely recommend them to others.

I highly recommend LABS for damp proofing work. They were extremely professional and polite from the very first contact through to project sign-off. I always received prompt replies to any questions I had. The entire team managed the job efficiently, even without my presence on-site. I was provided with daily updates and videos, which really helped reduce the stress of balancing this project with my own work commitments.

LABS have been a pleasure to work with. By far the most professional and helpful of contractors I've since having renovations done. I've been incredibly impressed with their communication and diligence, reviewing and coming back several times to ensure the work has been carried out to the standard they expect and correcting when not. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend and have already enquired about further work.

Highly recommend this company. Great skills and communication throughout the whole process. The team never skipped a beat and took care of everything. Made the whole process look clean and effortless 👍

I paid £60 for a quote from LABS a couple of months ago. The chap that gave the quote was friendly but was there for 5-10 minutes and used a damp meter to confirm that the damp I could see was in fact damp. It wasn't investigated further. I then had to chase the 'report' which was very basic and generic in nature. Because of this I don't go ahead with work so can't comment on the quality of that. Everybody I spoke to at the company was very friendly but I was very disappointed by the experience, especially as I paid £60 for it.

L.A.B.S has just finished tanking and damp proofing my cellar under the Storage Plus deal. The workers were excellent throughout, communication was great and I'm really pleased with the finished result.

LABS recently completed some damp proofing work for us and we were very pleased with the outcome. They were professional, competitively priced and even came back a few months after they had completed the works to do a tiny snag that got noticed. Great team doing it the way it should be done ✔

We didn't have any work done by LABS, but we did contact them for a quote. Based on that experience, I wouldn't recommend them: They charged us £60 for the in-person quotation, which we agreed to. They came round and - to their credit - came across as friendly and helpful. However, we had to chase them for the actual resulting quote. The said quote then did not reflect what had been discussed in-person: it was missing an element, and whilst we were told the quote would include 'cheaper' options and more expensive options - it only included the more expensive options. I queried this, and eventually received a revised quote that include the missing element (BUT - this was actually different to the solution discussed in person) and still no 'cheaper' options. This led us to not want to proceed with the work and a feeling we'd wasted £60. As stated, we didn't actually have any work done so can't comment on that aspect of their work.

LABS completed a full basement conversion on our property this Summer that we are very satisfied with. It has added so much value to our property and enabled us to make best use of the space. We have used LABS for damp surveys and smaller jobs over the years since 2018 and trust Brendan and the team to do a thorough, honest and exceptional job. Tradesmen and managers are always professional and dependable and complete the work to a high standard, including regular communication and inspections as the work is ongoing. I would highly recommend LABS to anyone looking to do any kind of basement conversion.

Really pleased with the work - everyone was friendly, professional and well organised, keeping me up to date at every stage.

We needed the concrete floor replacing in our living room and contacted LABS as we’d used them previously. We thoroughly recommend LABS, they provided a timetable of work which was useful to us and the work was carried out in a professional manner. The WhatsApp group provided helpful communication for all. Another successful outcome. Thanks to all the team.

We engaged LABS to undertake work on interior damp on north facing walls. From first contact we found them to be helpful and professional. Detailed quotes were provided outlining different options. The work was finished to a high standard and in a timely manner. All employees we found to be conscientious and approachable. We were kept informed throughout of the various stages of the work and any queries we had were dealt with promptly. I can recommend them without hesitation.

Very prompt visit within a day or two to inspect our property, and then work started 10 days later. The tradesmen were knowledgeable, hard working and tidy, especially considering the cramped conditions they worked under. The work was finished on time as promised. We are very pleased with all aspects of the work, particularly the prompt attention we received. Would thoroughly recommend Brendan and his team.

Delighted with the work done by LABS on a cold, damp, north-facing wall in my house. They installed thermal insulation which has made a big difference. The room is much warmer now and the damp problem has gone. They worked fast and very efficiently and left the room looking spick and span when they finished, all at a very reasonable price.

Incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our project. The project hit hiccups (no fault of labs at all) and they managed to sort them all within the time frame for our kitchen fitters to start. The WhatsApp group to keep us informed each day was incredibly useful!

Professional set up who were easy to get hold of when needed. Appreciated the daily update and information shared in a whatsapp group so we knew who was coming on what days. Special mention to Trent who stayed late on the final day to make sure everything was back in place. Thanks

Thorough and professional, kept good communication with us throughout and always respectful of our property. We are very pleased with the end result and would fully recommend them.

Thank you to “everyone” at L.A.B.S. for converting our cold/damp cellar into what will be our dream and very dry/insulated cinema room! The communication with all the very friendly team was excellent with any questions answered quickly via a phone-call or the WhatsApp group. All work was of a very high standard from the initial digging to the finishing touches. I was amazed at how little disruption/mess the conversion made, every stage was carefully planned and the team ensured our home was clean at the end of every day. A special mention to Phil who explained all the available options for our conversion in a very friendly and personal manner. And we loved having Sol and Adam around doing all the hard graft. Thank you, it’s been an absolute pleasure working with you all.

Excellent work from L.A.B.S. for the storage conversion of our cellar ! Our cellar used to be very humid and it is know 100% damp proof. The communication with the team is perfect with a whatsapp group set between us and the workers, some video update sent for the achievment of each important milestone and a quick response time for all our questions. They also dealt on their own with our neighbors to resolve a problem and the whole process was stress free and clear from the beginning!

Very professional service with a great workforce.

Service: ***** Value: **** Quality: **** Cellar tanked in 2022 required minor remedial work to a wall fixture. Received prompt reply from the L-A-B-S team to arrange call out within a few working days. Team member arrived on time, resolved the issue very quickly, and was thorough enough to check whether I was happy with the resolution (I was). Great communication over dedicated WhatsApp chat. Recommend sharing photos with the L-A-B-S team when getting in contact about a project/remedial work to ensure that scope of the job is understood and completion expedited. Will give the team first refusal on future projects based on excellent service to date.

Great job completed as scheduled. The team were careful and paid attention to detail and left everything clean and tidy. Thank you LABS.

The team at LABS were responsive from the first call. Always professional, keeping my property clean and tidy. They did a great job damp proofing and replastering.

Lovely friendly shop but best to phone to see if they have what you need and their availability. Seems like they open mainly in the mornings

Superb customer service from Chantelle. She has gone the extra mile to ascertain running costs of the fan that LABS installed in my cellar and she has also procured spare filters for the fan.

We have worked professionally B2B with Labs Basements for over 2 years now and find them a great company and team to work with. Super organised friendly team that we would recommend to anyone needing damp proofing services.

Following a damp survey, which revealed significant issues, including plaster falling off the wall, I realised the urgent need for professional damp proofing services. I couldn't be happier with the choice I made. The team worked swiftly and professionally, tackling the problem expertly and transforming the condition of my home. They were so careful to maintain cleanliness throughout the process and even after completion, leaving my house in a remarkably good state, which I greatly appreciated. Moreover, their trustworthiness impressed me. It was a relief to be able to leave them with my house key while I was at work without a single worry. For anyone facing similar damp issues, I highly recommend their services.

I really can’t praise LABS enough because they’ve been a superb company to deal with from start to finish. LABS have turned a dark dingy hole of a cellar into a functional storage & utility room. For starters we found their fees to be extremely competitive and once they started the work they stayed with it and never left us in the lurch. Secondly I will always appreciate their flexibility and helpfulness. For instance we needed a window opening resizing fairly quickly which was nothing todo with the cellar job and they kindly took it on and turned it around for us at a very competitive rate. Then there were building materials that I needed that again were nothing todo with the work LABS were carrying out and they supplied them at cost which was brilliant of them and was a reflection of their helpful attitude towards us, the customer. Communication was second to none whether you phoned emailed or used the superb ‘WhatsApp’ grouping they allow you to join that keeps you uptodate with how the job's proceeding and to input any issues you may have. Being an ole-timer I’ve never come across this form of contact before and found it a great communication tool. All this meant they were always available to guide us over specifics and discuss options as the job progresses. Overall we have no hesitation in recommending LABS to any future customers wanting a basement refurb. Spot on!

Great experience with LABS, came out to look at a damp issue we were having. Once they'd established it was an issue with a leak in the roof they kindly offered to refund me the call out fee. Would highly recommend!

Never returned calls

Recently L-A-B-S completed work on damp proofing the bedroom and adding a preventative sealent on the outside walls. I would 100% recommend L-A-B-S, Brendan, Bill and the team. They did a great job to high standard. Throughout the whole process they clearly explained what they would do and answered my questions and concerns. They were flexible with the start date and the work was done efficiently with the fixtures and fittings which had to be removed to plaster the wall put back. Thank you Brendan, Bill.and the L-A-B-S team.

LABS undertook a cellar conversion to make it fully habitable. Excellent final result. Good value for money.

We booked to use LABS for our cellar conversion on the back of a recommendation from a friend who had worked with them and seen their finished cellars in the past. We went for the fully habitable bedroom option with light-well, the floor being dug out for more headroom and new staircase that both need to comply with current regulations. The new room is a really useful space finished to an high standard and will be ideal as a guest bedroom / play and cinema room once a lick of paint has gone on the walls and carpet has gone down. LABS customers service is good, efficient, prompt and reliable. The building team is friendly and approachable. What could have been improved was the communication between the team as sometimes we felt in the unknown regarding the upcoming work and whether anyone would be turning up on the day. Our job overran, which is fine as we’re not naive enough to know that builders don’t have more than one job on the go at a time. We put this down to about 3 weeks from late November where we only had a day or day and half’s work a week for those 3 weeks without much in the way of communication as to what was happening. However before Christmas the work really picked up, stairs went in and it was all hands to the pump. Overall we would absolutely recommend LABS, Brendan and his team.

L-A-B-S Used this company for my rising and penetrative damp they were excellent from assessment to carrying out all the work knocking off damaged plaster putting on an internal DPM and an external DPC plastering and replacing damaged wood work everyone was extremely professional cleaned up as they went along friendly and reliable. Communication was excellent with a dedicated what's app group for them to contact me and visa versa answered all my questions nothing was too much trouble thank you Brendan and his hard working team ...

Had a dreadful experience with this company. Every aspect of the work that was done was a disaster, with very poor workmanship, poor materials, and failure to carry out agreed instructions.

LABS was really responsive and gave me lots of reassurance. They explained what needed to be done really explicitly and I felt comfortable with the workers in the house and they got the job done well. I would definitely recommend them.

I had a damp problem half way up my house on an external wall..render in good condition. Walls above and below all good... several builders no explanation and no solution. Asked Labs for their opinion... they came and sorted it clad the inside wall. 10 year guarantee... 5 years in its as good as the day they worked on it... if only I could share photos?... Thanks Brendan and team.. Have recommended you several times

Our experience of using LABS for our basement conversion has, in the main, been a positive one. The quality of individual workmanship is very good and we feel we have received good value for money. We now have an additional room in our home that is impacting positively on family life and that has added value to our property. Something that doesn't seem to work as well as it could, is the communication and planning across the team. With so many different people involved, there has, at times, been a sense of no-one having a clear overview of tasks and timescales. It feels as if the project management, and communication to on-site operatives and us as the customer, hasn't always been as joined up as it could have been despite good intentions. Overall, we would recommend LABS. We are very happy with the finished result of our project.

Got to say thank you to everyone at labs, especially Phil, Simon & Carl - they fully tanked my cellar, putting a pump system in there and helping with plastering and more, and I can't recommend them highly enough - great communication, fast & efficient work that is of a consistently high standard, and any and all problems were solved in a stress free and professional manner. They also really helped me when some unforeseen problems arose and I'll be forever grateful for that their advice. I am very happy and satisfied with all the work and my cellar is great!! Thank you!!

Excellent advice and support. Very helpful and personable service. Would recommend.

LABs carry out a great service from start to finish. Really professional and would highly recommend to anyone! Keep up the good work

L.A.B.S have been really helpful in sorting the problems in the cellar of our Victorian house. Simon has worked hard to find a solution where other tradespeople from elsewhere weren't happy to get involved. Everyone we have spoken to has been helpful. We wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

We have engaged LABS on a number of projects. They have always been friendly, professional, knowledgeable and commercially astute. A highly competent, hardworking and trustworthy team.

Labs have been an absolute lifeline to us this past year. A sewer pipe burst next to our house, which subsequently contaminated the basement damproofing system that Labs installed as part of our original basement conversion. Within 10 minutes of me contacting him, Brendan (Labs boss) had video called me and then sent someone out to check out the problem. Many companies, upon realising the fault was nothing they had done and out of their hands, would've ended their involvement there, but not Labs. Instead, over the intervening 11 months of battles with insurance, surveyors and cowboy builders appointed by the insurance, Labs were with me every step of the way (led by the absolute example of excellence that is Simon). They were always there for phone calls, quick visits round, and advising me how to deal with the insurance. There was no reason for them to help me so much other than their absolutely unparalleled customer service ethics. It was only with their assistance that we have finally arrived at the point where the basement is finally being fixed (thankfully, the insurance finally agreed to just pay labs to fix it, which thanks to continued insurance incompetence now amounts to essentially starting the conversion all over again) and once again I cannot praise them enough. Super polite, punctual, get on with the work and always talking to me to keep me up to date with whats going on. Genuinley don't know what I would have done without Simons help the past year, could never have got this far without him and the rest of the Labs team. Hopefully, the next review I leave will be the final one after completion of the basement conversion for the second time in 4 years 😅 if you want quality customer service, excellent build quality and most importantly people who actually care about you and the work they do for you, then look no further than these guys.

We hired LABS to treat the timber in our basement space and install a PIV unit. The work was crucial to the sale of our property so were in desperate need to get the job done quickly. They were prompt and professional and would hire them again, should we need any more work done in the future. Thank you!

We had some work done recently by LABS and the team have been brilliant. Most recently, we suspected woodworm brought into the property by new reclaimed wooden furniture. LABS’ timber specialist came straight out at 7am the next morning to review the issue, offered us sound advice and even communicated to the furniture company on our behalf. Saved us a lots of sweat and worry!

All the team were wonderfully professional, knowledgeable and also caring. Thank you, we appreciate you!

Used LABS for our basement conversion. End product was fantastic. Really good quality and brilliant communication from Simon V throughout. Big that you to the team who have worked on it. Everyone very friendly and answer questions when asked. Looking forward to using the space as play area for our child. Thank you to the LABS team!

Would not reccomend at all...we approached L-A-B-S after purchasing our house in September where we had to wait 3 weeks for an assessment appointment (which is understandable) which we were then told it would be upto another 2 weeks for a quote. At this point we had a 2 month old baby and decided not to move into the house until the damp work was completed a further month went by where we had no contact so I called the office where I was told we would be sent out the quote, a further week went by where I was told the same. Then the guy who came out called me to discuss the matter and informed me again that he would send out the quote. I have phoned the office a further 2 times and keep being told the same. We have now had to move house and are still trying to sort the issue out whilst living in with our baby which we wanted to avoid. Unreliable, untrustworthy and nothing but time wasters! Update- Following my first review Brendan (company director) got in contact who was genuinely apologetic with the service we had received. We have now had a further assessment and work completed. We felt that we had an honest assessment to identify the work required and Thank you to Simon and his team we are happy with the work completed.

Simon and his team were fantastic. We experienced a really difficult cellar flooding situation in which water kept filling up until the ground saturation had subsided. LABS pumped out several times until we were able to have a pumping system installed. Everyone was professional and courteous and Simon coordinated the jobs perfectly along the way and was always reassuring about resolving the situation. He certainly went the extra mile. Would highly recommend LABS

L-A-B-S gave us a first class, professional service from start to finish. The assessor turned up on time and provided rapid feedback. The date was booked and adhered to, the people turned up on the correct day and time and we were kept informed about each stage by phone and text. The people who carried out the various stages were both pleasant and professional, so overall, I thought that they provided an excellent service.

Exceptional work on our house by LABS - Simon’s plasterwork is SO smooth, and Trent painstakingly replaced our tricky and unusual skirting board, matching it back into the existing skirting perfectly – great job!

We used LABS for a basement conversion. We found them very professional throughout. We were particularly impressed with the communication and were consistently kept up to date with developments and how the work would progress. Staff were all very friendly and the management were very responsive when issues were raised. Before work commenced, we set a deadline for completion and staff worked very hard to meet this deadline. Whilst I wouldn't describe them as cheap, the quality of the service was sufficient to justify the price paid. We would use them again.

Very efficient team for our storage basement. Good communication and versatile even with our change of plans. Professional work.

This is my reply to your response. It's not five years ago, check your diary, please. Anyway, how long ago is irrelevant. I intend to expose my experience with LABS to other customers that can make an informed decision. How many employees work for the company is immaterial? In the end, the quality of the work that matters. Wrong foundation, wrong steel positioning, leaking roof, wrong tiles to the extension are a few that I can mention here. Introducing a workman as the company lawyer to intimidate the customer, using unreasonable accusations to discredit and provoke the customer were some of the tactics used to find a way to get away without completing the work. We were up to date with the payments, but a behaviour change made us think twice before making the payments. Still, after successfully receiving the payments and removing all the materials and tools when no one was at home, we were notified by the so-called lawyer over the phone that no one will come to complete the work. We received a fake invoice afterwards demanding more money. Unsurprisingly, no legal action was taken to recover it? We spent over £10000 to complete the project. We will not allow companies like this to have luxury at the expense of someone's hard-earned money.

LABS provided me with a dry cellar from what could best be described as a muddy cess pit. Work started on time. The lads were very professional, polite and good fun which when you're knee deep in mud has to be apauded. There was very little mess at all. The service is excellent and I am delighted with the end result. Pricing was very transparent and no hidden extras. Would highly recommend

Brendan is a first-class cheat. He did building extension work for us and ran away without completing the job after taking the full payment and removing all unused materials. The building inspector did not pass the building work as LABS used the wrong tiles to the extension. It cost us over £5000 to change the tiles and for other uncompleted work. Also, he terrorised us by bringing a guy and telling us that he was his lawyer. He used plenty of cheap labour from all nationalities

Booked a damp and timber survey (£299) for a pre-purchase property and the company took 7 working days to deliver the report, even though they promised to deliver it within 5 working days. When we received the report, we were astonished as we thought a report took that long to write should be professional and structured, but it’s not! First, they throw everything in to a paragraph or few sentences each page and then suddenly finished without any conclusion. I even thought that if this is an unfinished report? Second, the property has three bedrooms, but in the report it only mentioned two?! Third, issues found by home report surveyor not mentioned in the report, although we addressed those issues to LABS before they do the examination. This really make us worrying if they have checked the property thoroughly? We called several times to the company, every time the staff would say they would call us back but they NEVER!!! Such irresponsible and unprofessional company shouldn’t be considered by anyone anymore!

Bradley plumbing are one of the professional contractors that work alongside labs-we have a great relationship and work well together-labs have a great team that enable their jobs to run well -providing customer service that’s second to non-highly recommend using them for all your basement and damp proof needs

We had LABS to waterproof our cellar floor which suffered from water flowing through and covering the floor every year. They built in a sump with a pump to deal with water build up and damproofed the floor. LABS were very professional, efficient and always personal and courteous. Good workers who knew what they were doing Andrew believed in the product and the company. Good service. Would highly recommend LABS.

We are a local bespoke kitchen manufacturer and need a few components to tackle an install on a tanked wall in a rush. The people at L-A-B-S were very knowledageable and sorted me out with the bits we needed. Thanks guys.

We had the cellar converted into a storage plus room. After having a dark and dingy cellar that we put a trap door over to shut it away, we now have a wonderful useable space. The team at LABS were all amazing with a special shout out to Travis who is a credit to the company. We would highly recommend LABS to anyone.

Really quick and efficient job, couldn’t fault them. I’ve no idea what I would’ve done without their help! 5 star, absolutely recommend

LABS installed a Dampproofing course on a number of walls of the house. From the initial inspection through to the end of the work they were very professional and took great pains to explain each aspect of the work. All the team were friendly, open and very skilled in their particular fields. They did a first rate job and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to other people.

LABS have been amazing each and everyone of the team, professional, knowledgeable and above all really lovely folk. My basement has been updated with new pumps and systems. Nothing was too much trouble and all the work was carried out to the highest standard. I would have no hesitation recommending them to anyone. Thanks LABS

After being reccomded their service I initially had trouble getting a quote but the team soon got back to me and were really friendly and helpful.

Advice - I called for advice and comparative quote. They were great very helpful, honest and impartial. No pressure and gave me sound advice and made sure I made the right decision for me. I just wanted to leave feedback as their service was excellent professional, they didn’t need to go to so much effort but it was appreciated. Thanks again, if I reconsider I would definitely use this company.

Very professional and did a fantastic job of the rear rendering. Would recommend for future works.

L.A.B.S provided an excellent service to resolve the problems with damp in my newly bought house. They came and inspected the house and offered a solution immediately. L.A.B.S supplied the relevant products needed which I then installed myself. Even after the products were bought from them they offered technical advice and support. Would highly recommend for any issues with damp!

Very helpful visit and pragmatic advice from LABS. Highly recommended getting in touch with them for any damp issues/concerns.

Really professional advice given on some damp problems in our cellar. Friendly and turned up on time , spent a lot of time explaining everything. Wont hesitate to use in future. Thank you

Wasted my time, the inspector was rude and just walked off. No show on the first appointment, after an hour of waiting I called the company and they advised that they didn't show up as their secretary took my mobile number incorrectly, even though they had the address. This excuse didn't make a great deal of sense. The second time they showed up the inspector asked "what is the parking like in this area?" when it is clear that there are parking restrictions as there are parking signs everywhere (Broomhall). He advised that unless I was to pay for any fines he accrued then he would not do the job. I told him that of course I wouldn't and that anyone arranging a meeting in a parking restricted zone would make arrangements prior to attending. He was rude and just walked off. I advised him that he could park 2 minutes away and walk down but he wasn't having it. I've worked with many tradesman and consultants in the building industry and I rarely write reviews but in this case I am very annoyed. Don't waste your time or money. The owner has lied in his response which says a great deal about his character.

Brendan and his team converted my basement into a self contained apartment for my mum. The basement had been previously tanked and already had underfloor heating so it needed an expert team who understood the technical aspects. I had full confidence in Brendan from start to finish and he continues to provide support for the routine maintenance needed for a basement conversion (sump cleaning and filter changes on saniflos). I would highly recommend L.A.B.S. for any basement work - they really know what they are doing.

Having had an ongoing damp problem for a good few months & with many attempts by myself to cure the problem failing I was recommended L.A.B.S damp proofing . After contacting the company Gavin came out to access our problem . After plenty of head scratching by both of us we took the floor up & Gavin found the problem. A pin hole leak in a copper pipe that was underneath another copper pipe ! The company gave me a quote for the work but as I'm a furloughed joiner I have plenty of time to do the work myself . I've tried paying for there services but to no avail . I think it is a testament to to the integrity of the company although it's not my way of doing things . I wouldn't hesitate to recommend LABS & I'm hoping to drop off a few quid for a Christmas drink if the pubs ever open back up !

Great company, we develop lots of properties and would highly recommend LABS for all damp proofing/ basement works.

We used L-A-B-S to provide a damp assessment on a house we are in the process of purchasing. Brendan and Sam were friendly and professional to deal with. The report we received was thorough and very helpful for us. They identified what issues were present and quoted reasonable prices to resolve them.

I recently recommend Brendan,s company to come up with a damp proofing solution to a retaining wall that was part of an extension we were building. After an initial inspection he came up with a solution that worked and through the installation was on hand to answer any questions and advice. All materials arrived on site when he said they would. Iv worked with Brendan many times and will be again in the future. I would and have recommend his company to anyone who requires damp proofing solution,s his knowledge of what materials are available is second to none ,thanks again Brendan . Yours faithfully Dean

Very quick response from Brendan and his team. Gavin was extremely friendly and explained and showed me exactly what the issues were. I’ve left the review a few days so I can confirm everything is fixed perfectly well. Such a great team and would highly recommend them. Hope I don’t need their services soon but if I do I won’t hesitate to call.

Brendan and his team have helped me completely renovate my house, from damp proofing to revamping the bathroom and kitchen. They do a fantastic job, on time and efficiently - am a repeat customer several times over.

Excellent experience in every aspect. Strongly recommend.

Fantastic service! After a massive water leak flooding several rooms at our studio, Brendan got a couple of his guys to us to assist within half an hour of calling him. Very quick and efficient service.

Brenden and his team provided a top quality service on the house. They were friendly, knowledgeable and informative. Would 100% recommend to anyone

Brendan and the team have been to my property twice. First time for penetrating damp on an external wall. His team lined a wall with membrane and replastered for me. They were tidy, on time and I’ve had no damp problems there since. I asked him round again as I thought I had a similar problem with another wall. Brendan came round and explained that I hadn’t and that it was just condensation due to storing many things against the cold external wall with no breathing space. He could have took money off me as I wouldn’t have known but he was honest and just gave advice.i would highly recommend him.

Great to work with, punctual and brilliant final product. I would definitely recommend them.

We had a damp (wet) cellar. Brendan came, looked, and quoted a modest price. Another company came and quoted for a much more substantial (and costly) piece of work. On Brendan's second visit he noticed a pinhole leak in a lead pipe. His plumber colleague came and solved the problem quickly and economically. I shall watch as the cellar dries out to see whether a more ambitious project is needed. I'm entirely confident that this company will not sell me something I don't need. Pleasant and good to do business with.

I contacted L-A-B-S as I recently received a damp proof survey + proposed work for a newly purchased Victorian property but wanted to make sure that I received a second opinion in case I had been quoted for work that was in fact not needed. As it is such a cost and disruptive undertaking, I contacted L-A-B-S and was so pleasantly surprised when Brendan took the time to review the report (at no charge) and shared his feedback the same day! It's not often that companies offer support and advice without a financial purpose in mind, would definitely recommend contacting them for any damp proofing advice!

Fantastic service from LABS 😊 I had a damp proof problem on my kitchen wall and dinning room wall the guys came and did an amazing job and the room walls looked like new! 👌 Really pleased with the work, I would definitely recommend 😀

Fantastic service. Came to them with a tight turnaround required and they not only quoted nearly immediately, but arranged to perform the work within a week. Utmost professionals and very good at what they do. Finished to a high quality. I would wholehearted recommend.

Took the time to investigate the problem thoroughly. The work started quickly and Brendon was easily contactable throughout to answer any queries/coordinate. The work was timed around my shift work and was flexible with start times in the morning. Very pleased with the end result- thanks.

After having many different basement conversion companies in to quote for the work LABs (and Brendan specifically) was the last company we saw. We came away from the meeting with no doubt at all that they were the right company for the job, far more knowledgeable than the others and offering a very reasonable price. The works consisted of converting an old semi-converted basement into a full habitable living area with a new window dug out the front, ventilation, water pump, insulation, electrics, plumbing etc. The first few weeks were simple excavation works where the workers caused the minimum of disruption and were incredibly polite and respectful of the property, going as far to scrub the kitchen floor clean after the excavation works had finished, meaning it ended up cleaner than it ever had been haha! After that it progressed onto the more visible areas of the construction process with a constant stream of specialists coming and going, all of whom were friendly, knowledgeable and happy to accommodate requests. Throughout the entire process Brendan kept us fully up to date with exactly what was happening and what the next steps were. The only problem faced was that the window company sent the wrong window by accident so we faced a slight delay due to that, but Brendan was very apologetic and it was completely out of their control so we were more than happy with the response. Finally all the work was finished and now have an incredibly impressive additional living room / guest room which feels much more spacious and light than we were anticipating. It's been done to such a high standard and the aftercare has been excellent with them returning to fix any small snags we have had. The addition of the basement has given us the room to expand our family on our own timescale rather than being limited by space, and has certainly added value above what we have paid for the works. I can't emphasise enough that Brendan and LABs are the exact right people if you want to make use of the space most of us Sheffield residents have beneath our house, they've been fantastic from start to finish and i want to personally thank Brendan for all the time and effort he has put in, and his patience dealing with my incessant questions! Couldn't give them higher praise than the fact I would happily contract them to do any further work in the future. Top job!

We appointed labs to provide tanking solutions for a new build property in rAnmoor. Sheffield. The brief was to provide a waterproofing solution to a 1800sqft Basment level to a luxury new build. Full living accommodation was throughout the basement. Brendam provided a solution to meet the requirements of British standards in relation to a new build property. An internal cavity drain system was combined with waterproof concrete retaining walls to provide the required 2 layers of protection to a new build and an insurance backed guarantee. Services provided from specification through to installation made the job simple and very efficient providing a fully water tight system to our luxury dwelling. The knowledge labs / Brendan have in waterproof systems is second to none.

Brendan and the team have done 2 separate projects for me, the main one being a full damp proofing of our lounge. Very responsive and speedy work done to a high standard

It has been a pleasure dealing with L-A-B-S damp proofing . They have talked me through how the system works and answerd any questions I had . I definitely recommend them . Once again many thanks Adnane .

Had an absolutely fantastic experience with LABS. Communication before and throughout the work was excellent, the rest of our home was undisturbed and kept clean and tidy and the work was completed within the timescale that was originally quoted but to such a high standard! Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Would highly recommend this company great job done

Would highly recommend Brendan & his team of builders. They are very reliable & do a thorough job without cutting any corners. Very happy with the work done, thanks all 😊

After waiting a long time for remedial work to be done by a local damp proof company (not l-a-b-s), I decided to sort it myself. I went to the guys at labs and after a few phone calls and some photos of the problem, they advised me on what materials I would need, ordered them for me and I picked them up at a very reasonable price! Thanks for all your help and advice, I'll let you know how it goes and if I need any more damp proofing done, you are my first call!

Great service - quick to come over for the quote and quick to book us in! Super tidy workmen who left the house in a better state than they found it! Would defs used again (although hopefully won’t need to!!)

Thank you for the thermal paint... I cannot believe what a difference it has made to the wall in my salon. It was always wet and cold and now it actually strangely feels warm and no damp!!! Tha is for recommending it Brendan. You've been an absolute pleasure to deal with Highly recommend LABS, Brendan definitely knows his stuff 😊

I have not used the services but when I popped into the shop for some advice Brendan was very helpful!

Excellent customer service, reliable and friendly, clean and efficient workmanship.

Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and gave us exactly what we needed - would definitely recommend!

Had the conservatory refurbished. The team was very professional and completed the job within the given time frame. Would highly recommended and will be using The Damp Shop services again.

Excellent advice, very professional and efficient service. Would highly recommend as have done already

Couldn’t be more impressed with the service and workmanship. Brendan was very efficient at giving us a quote and the job went very smoothly, with the various trades people extremely well co-ordinated. Workman very clean and tidy and the job was priced very fairly. Would definitely recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to use again myself. Thank you Brendan and the team.

Brendan was very friendly and approachable, and took the time to speak in person and on the phone. Brendan and colleagues arranged to view the basement in a house we were planning to buy. We really valued his responsiveness and guidance about the basement structure and damp, and would highly recommend. Great to have someone reliable working locally.

Brendan conducted a damp survey as a 2nd opinion, and gave some very honest and useful feedback. A very friendly service, with clear and well explained advice. Highly recommend

From getting the quote through to final inspection and issuing the guarantee Brendan and his team have been professional, prompt and completely reliable. I had some cellar beams replaced and lined and the standard of work by Tony is excellent and the overall price was very reasonable. A really good service all round from LABS.

Brendan and the rest of the guys at LABS have done an excellent job! From the start Brendan was easily contactable, clearly knowledgeable about the damp issues we faced, and was friendly throughout. He gave us a fair quote and then got to work straight away. He was there to answer any questions and was very accommodating of a few changes that we wanted making midway through the work. I’ll definitely be using LABS for work in future and can’t recommend them enough!

Very friendly and professional guys. Gave me a good quote and got on with the work straight away, from me ringing up to it being completed was only a week. Left the place tidy after they'd finished, which not everyone does!

Thank you for the prompt attention and honest professional advice received from Brendan. He checked the room in question and gave frank and honest advice on simple actions for work we could carry out ourselves and for any future issues. We would have no hesitation in recommending this company for their professional services. R & J Pascoe. July 2018

I spent four years dreading dealing with the rising damp in my house and had finally booked in a builder to come and replace all the plaster in my downstairs. I called Brendan for a second opinion and was really grateful that I did! Brendan was quick to respond and arranged a prompt survey. He was really polite and friendly and took the time to thoroughly check the damp in my house. He also explained that it was just condensation and not rising damp at all, which was fantastic news. He recommended a really cost effective solution and saved me thousands of pounds of unnecessary work, mess and disruption. He really took a lot of time to explain the possible solutions that we could do ourselves, despite it meaning that there was not really any work in it for him. He also did a really prompt follow up. I feel really grateful that I contacted Brendan and I fully recommend contacting him to help you deal with any damp issues. I felt like he was extremely knowledgeable on the subject and had loads of experience with the many different ways of dealing with damp as well as a just being aa reall honest nice guy.

Very good service and a job well done. Areas of damp were identified and a damp proof membrane was inserted and replastered. Matching skirting boards could not be obtained so custom ones were made and matched very well. Overall I would highly recommend Brendan and his team.

The work was first class. Very prompt and polite

Fearing that we had a damp problem, I called into the shop to see what could be done for us. Brendan came to our home and diagnosed condensation rather than damp, suggesting what we could do to overcome the problems that we had and for preventing them in the future. The quote was very reasonable and work started quickly after us accepting. We had new double glazing put in and Brendan sent me photos and arranged for a sample window to be taken into the shop for me look at when I had concerns. All of Brendan's team were polite, friendly and trustworthy. Brendan kept us up to date throughout the project. We would use LABS again and would recommend.

We have had the privilege of working along side Brendan and the guys at LABS. There damp proofing systems they use is fsnstadtic and always an A1 job and it’s so easy for us to board and plaster to finish there systems. We will be using Brendan on more of our jobs to carry our damp proofing. Look forward to the future working together

Fast, efficient and friendly service. Very thorough investigations and follow up service. Thank you to the team at L.A.B.S

What a fantastic company! Genuine people and great workmanship. I am more than pleased . Would highly recommend.

Just want to say a huge thank you to Brendan and his team. We were in the process of buying a new house and the homebuyers report had flagged up some potential problems with damp. Brendan was able to assess the property in a very quick time frame and reassure us that nothing was wrong. All for free! He was also able to recommend some work that may need to be done in the future, should we decide, but no pressure at all. Really can’t recommend Brendan and his team enough. Very friendly, helpful and explained everything to us in detail and all with no pressure to purchase any services.

Excellent service from LABs. Brendan and his team did an brilliant job removing our chimney breast and a number of other jobs; plumbing, plastering etc. The work started quickly and efficiently, pricing was very reasonable. Brendan is easy to contact and is very trustworthy and genuine. I would highly recommend this company, and will use again for any other building jobs.
