Would give more stars if we could! Emma and Daniel were exceptional in every way. Me and my partner were under offer on a property (a potential first house) but high damp readings were identified in the HomeBuyers survey, so we found Damp Pro and commissioned a damp survey prior to contract. We really loved this house but Daniel had identified a number of issues that would’ve required significant long-term investment from us well into the tens of thousands of pounds. The reports are incredibly comprehensive and contain a lot of detail, but they’re written in plain English so non-experts (like me!) can make sense of them. Daniel was keen to make himself available for a phone call whenever we needed his advice or clarity on points within the survey. He talked us through the issues with a lot of care and clarity, knowing how much we loved and wanted the house, but not shying away from offering clear, honest advice about the level of risk and investment. Based on non-damp related issues flagged in the HomeBuyers survey, and the damp survey itself, we sadly took the decision not to purchase this property. Several months later, we found a slightly more modern house but, again, damp had been identified in an earlier survey, so we didn’t think twice about getting back in touch with Emma and Daniel. We commissioned another damp survey but far less issues were identified, and Daniel spent a lot of time talking us through how we tackle and prioritise the issues that had been flagged, considerate of the fact we’re a young couple with only so much money to put towards certain things. We bought the house and Daniel’s help and advice in relation to the damp was a huge factor in our feeling confident and secure in our buying decision. A big concern for us when researching damp surveyors was knowing that they wouldn't try and upsell us services, treatments or products. I can confirm that Damp Pro are truly 100% independent, they will never try to 'sell' you anything outside of the survey and advice itself. This was a big relief to us knowing that their advice was independent and neutral. From start to finish, Emma and Daniel provided an exceptional service offering tailored advice and guidance. Emma’s incredibly polite and helpful, and her communication is clear and punctual. Daniel has 20 years experience but is always careful to help explain terms or jargon in more common terms that anyone can understand. In short, we just couldn’t recommend Damp Pro more highly. Instructing a damp survey can be a daunting decision for prospective buyers, especially when money is tight, but you’re in safe hands with Damp Pro and it would be hard to regret the investment given the level of care, detail and attention Damp Pro gives to their clients. Avoid. We were about to complete on the sale of our house when the buyer requested a damp survey. The guy came round for 20 minutes and basically implied that the floors were at risk of collapse! He didn't actually inspect the subfloor area, it was all speculation and scaremongering. As a result our buyer pulled out. I need a second opinion so I paid for another company to do a damp survey. They took 2 hours and actually went into the subfloor area. It turns out that the timbers were like new and there was no damp or rot anywhere! I forwarded this new survey to the buyer but they still didn't want to proceed. They'd already been scared off by Damp Pro's ridiculous report. So this has impacted 4 families in the chain, and jeopardised our chances of getting the house we'd set our sights on. Great job. Update 30/10/2025: Further to the company's response below. I should clarify that I wasn't the client, the buyer was the client. However when the company rang me to arrange the date for the survey, I asked if they would inspect the subfloor area (which there is access to), but they said this wouldn't be possible for "health and safety reasons". Had they done so they would have seen that everything was in good condition (as the later damp surveyor confirmed). And their report would have been quite different. By the time I was able to prove with evidence that there were no issues, the damage had already been done. As a result, the buyer lost out on a perfectly good house, and so did we. Also their report indicated there was a leak in the kitchen. The second surveyor could find no evidence of any leak in the kitchen, just condensation staining.

Can highly recommend Damp Pro. I received a recommendation from my survey to go and get a deeper look into the moisture issues and came across Damp Pro. The reason I chose them is because they’re completely independent, won’t try and sell you anything and get to the root of the cause rather than just recommending to cover up the problem. Emma was super helpful explaining the process to me and Dan was amazing. He done such a thorough job and then talked me through it on the phone. Can’t recommend enough!

Wish I could give more than five stars! As a FTB needing additional surveys following a homebuyers report I did a lot of research into different damp surveyors before choosing one, and I'm so so glad that I went with Damp Pro! Daniel was professional throughout the process, and upon discovering serious issues in the property he called me immediately, and we a very open and honest discussion about what those findings meant, the potential costs, and his professional opinion. When pulling out of the purchase as a result of a number of surveys, I experienced some quite aggressive pushback from the sellers and the estate agents specifically regarding the damp. Even here, Daniel was more than happy to answer my questions and provide support regarding his findings, and was a great reassurance. After the work was completed, Dan was very helpful when I telephoned to talk about his findings (he'd flagged up some serious problems). Wow, what consummate professionals! From initial contact I felt reassured that they were good at what they do. Emma booked me in and even gave me detailed answers on what to expect from the damp survey. Then the Survey was carried out promptly by Daniel - I received the report and then spoke to him to get a better understanding of what it all meant.
