We were very pleased to have woodworm treatment in the attic administered by Liam Thomas. He spoke with us about what he needed and reassured us about the safety of the product he was using. Sam Comer had thoroughly surveyed the property and ensured the treatment occurred after the bats had left the attic that they use as a nursery roost.

Worse service ever, they spent most of the day smoking cigs on the front! Walls still damp a month after! Texture is like sandpaper really bad cowboy job! Told it could take a year to dry out so cant decorate till at least 12 months! Making my mental health deteriorate daily! Would not recommend!!!

I had a problem with rising damp. Martin, the surveyor from Peter Cox advised the work that would remedy the problem. All work was carried out by Paul the engineer, who completed the job in one day. The process was explained fully and I am a very satisfied customer.

From the initial survey and follow up by Gareth Hayward, the communication and updates from Liam regarding dates for the work to be carried out and then the damp proof, re-pointing and thermotek application by David and Jack the experience was very easy. Everyone we dealt with was pleasant, courteous and explained exactly what they were doing and why. Highly recommended.

Yet again Peter Cox have come to the rescue with a minimal fuss solution in a professional and polite, efficient manner. The gents who visited, Paul and Dillon and the initial inspection by Carl were all punctual, informative and polite. The job of injecting an internal damp proof was done with no mess and the gents made sure that the floor was protected before walking through from outside. Excellent job and explanations of each stage. Thanks guys. Have now used Peter Cox 3 times on different houses and no doubt will use them again and will recommend them unreservedly.

Peter Cox started the work when promised. The work was undertaken professionally and finished to a good standard. The workmen left the site clean and tidy. Only hitch was a workman turning up to complete some work that had already been done. A full price for the work but can't fault the outcome.

My neighbour recommended using Peter Cox for some damp work and replastering I needed done and I'm so glad she did! Everyone that came out to do work was excellent and I was quoted a fair price too. We had an excellent service from Peter Cox from first contact right through to completion of our damp proof course. Surveyor Chris Fox was very professional and knowledgeable. Really nice, reassuring and ensured the work could be carried out with minimal disruption. Liam and the support team were extremely helpful, getting in touch and following things up with me to ensure we had the work completed as arranged (we needed chasing up, not the company). Cameron who undertook the work arrived on time, worked quickly and efficiently, continually cleaning up after himself. He even managed to work in our cluttered store room to access the brickwork so we didn't have to drag everything out into the garden. We are so pleased that we chose Peter Cox.

We were very pleased with all three stages of the damp and dry rot treatment work that Peter Cox Ltd did for us. They were very careful to eliminate all the problems and to give us assurances that the damp and dry rot has been properly treated.

Useless. Booked in to have a survey done with them in November which they done and quoted me, chased all of december and January to have the full service booked in and couldnt get through to them or get any response to email. Eventually got another company to quote me who actually charged me alot less, work came with a 30 year guarantee and they came back the next week. Peter cox got back to me after the work was completed. Pathetic.

Poor service, 24 phone calls to get through, then I had to contact the surveyor myself, I've now been waiting a further 2 weeks for a response to my email

Following a building survey on my home carried out by an independent surveyor, I was advised to have a damp & timber specialist survey the house I was buying. I contacted Peter Cox to send a surveyor, who decided the house would need a damp proof course (DPC) on most of the ground floor walls (internal and external). I instructed them to schedule the work, as per his advice: 1 day of applying the DPC and 2 days of re-plastering. There was a lead time of over a month so my partner and I opted to put off moving into our newly bought house until after the work was done. The day before the DPC I had received no calls or emails since my initial call to book the work. I called them to pay my deposit and make sure they were still coming. This will not be the first time that I have to chase them to give them money. The man who came to do the DPC immediately noted that some of our internal walls were coated in Artex which could potentially contain asbestos and as such he wouldn’t be able to disturb it and wouldn’t be able to carry out all of the work that the surveyor had suggested. Why didn’t the surveyor pay attention to what the walls were decorated with? Is his sole job not to inspect the walls? The Artex isn’t exactly subtle, I could have told him what it was but isn’t he the expert? The man guessed the name of the surveyor without any clues from me, meaning that there is a surveyor working for Peter Cox Liverpool who is known to be bad at his job. I wouldn’t expect him to put himself at risk, I accepted that his decision was based on safety concerns. But no solution was offered for treating this wall, no advice about how we could get the Artex tested for asbestos, no offer to come back at a later date and complete the work that I was paying them for. Just “we can’t touch that”. The next day my partner took the day off work to be at the house with the plasterers, who were supposed to arrive 8.30-9am. When it got to 9.30 and they hadn’t arrived I called the office and was told they were running late but that they’d be there by 11am. At 11.30 I called again, to be told they would be there by 1pm. At 1.30 I called them AGAIN and was told that they wouldn’t be coming at all. My partner lost a full day’s earnings waiting around for them; she could have gone in for a half day if they’d just told us in the first place that they had no intention of coming. At no point through any of this did they call me, it was always me chasing them - a real lack of customer care. This delay meant that the 2 days of re-plastering would now run later into the week and into the day that we were moving into the house. We had removal vans/men booked and couldn’t change it at such short notice. We ended up carrying furniture into a dusty house and working around the plasterers - far from ideal. I was promised a reduction on the price multiple times throughout the whole process. When it came to it, the reduction offered was a joke and I had to threaten them with legal action before we agreed a reduction that came close to making up for the completely unprofessional service, my partner’s loss of earnings and the huge inconvenience overall. The final insult was when I called them to make this payment, they tried to trick me into paying the original price - one last attempt to rip me off right at the end. In summary: Awful communication between contractors/office/customer Incompetent surveyor Impossible for them to do the work they themselves had described and charged me for Contractors didn’t show up when they’d been booked well in advance Office staff were unhelpful and untrustworthy throughout

It is very rare these days to find a company that goes above and beyond. Peter Cox is one of those companies. From start to finish their professionalism was first class. I have to say that Cameron Wright, who actually performed the damp proof course was a hard working individual and efficient leaving my home as clean and tidy as any home can be after such a procedure. Very pleasant nature. I would recommend this company to anyone needing reassurance about dampness in their property.

From the initial contact by phone to Karl the Surveyor who carried out the inspection, followed by Mark who carried out the repair, the whole process was slick, professional and pleasant. I have no background in building but had every confidence in the company as they explained the process at every step and gave clear options without any of the 'hard sell' Would highly recommend this firm to anyone who is unfortunate enough to experience problems with damp, they will defo' put your mind at ease

Fantastic service and work carried out efficiently and with due care for my carpets etc. Brian worked hard and with consideration when he carried out the 'dirty' work and earned his cups of tea. Alan, the sub contractor, carried out the best plastering work I've come across.

Awful experience and truly shocking customer service. Had damp proofing done all of downstairs. Not cheap (even one of the labourers said they'd overcharged us). Thank ok no notice of our request to be careful with our wooden floors, deep long scratches.. 3 months later damp patches reappered. Had to chase them for weeks until finally a surveyor came out, he said he wouldn't know why the patches are there but would send a builder. No builder arrived. Phones up and they said the builder is on holiday. Several weeks later still waiting to hear back. Avoid avoid avoid!

Cannot fault Peter Cox. From the moment their surveyor, Ashley, came round to carry out the assessment, and then when Dan undertook the work just a few days later, has proved Peter Cox to be an extremely professional company. Work was well explained and completed as tidily as possible given that there was an amount of plaster removal. Good steps taken to avoid damage to the rest of the house and rooms being treated. The finish achieved on the walls after the work was very good - the areas treated are indistinguishable from the rest of the walls. In some cases treatment was applied behind skirting boards, which were replaced looking like they had never come off the wall. We had a small problem with scheduling - Peter Cox was not fully prepared to start work on the agreed day, but they pulled out the stops to complete more quickly than planned and ended up finishing just 1 day later than planned. Great communication with the project office while they were sorting out what needed to be done to start the work. It's far too early to tell how effective the treatment is. For reference, our house is a mid-1800s sandstone cottage. So no damp course in the original build. Peter Cox's treatment is designed to block rising damp without a damp course.

First solution that I was offered and following discussions was told was 100% worthwhile cost about £500. Within the week the area was soaking again. Told further measures could be taken and another treatment organised. Charged £500 again which seemed unfair but I was desperate and went ahead. I decided to wait until it next rained to check if all was now water tight to pay, and intended to again raise the question of the useless treatment that I had originally been sold. To my horror the representative attended the following day asking for payment from my husband. He was at no time the customer. The contract was with me.He was embarrassed and paid. My double glazing has been covered with the product used. No attempt to protect it. I have been trying for hours to clean it now but the surface of the units are damaged.Looks a total mess. I totally regret having used this firm.
