I needed some damp work doing and contacted Ian at Barrier, they did an excellent job on another property some years ago. Once again they provide an excellent service, it was another job well done. The work was done to a very good standard, they cleaned up after the work was done and left the room as they found it. I would highly recommend them as they are professional, efficient and very reliable.

My property needed pretty extensive work doing to the entire downstairs to remedy the damp that was penetrating. Ian and his team did a very efficient and impressive job insulating the walls, re-plastering and fitting a PIV in the loft space. Reasonably priced and would highly recommend to anyone.

Ian did a brilliant job plastering and resolving damp issues in our kitchen. We appreciated the swift communication and reliability, the job was completely quicker than expected and everywhere left tidy.

Ian and team were great from the start, from doing an initial damp survey on the property we were buying, through to the completion of the work. Arrived exactly on time, prepared the area and left clean and tidy with no mess. Really efficient, professional and reliable. Would really recommend.

Ian and the team were fantastic and have done a brilliant job in resolving damp issues and refurbishing our main bedroom. We found them reliable and trustworthy, which was a relief after having some bad experiences with other trades. Ian is knowledgeable and professional, and offered lots of advice before we'd even agreed to go ahead with the work. We had the bay window wall of our bedroom reconstructed and insulated due to penetrating damp + condensation damage, plus reopening the bedroom fireplace, skimming all walls and ceilings, and new skirting installed. The team had the wall back to brick within an hour, and swiftly removed all the rubble. We were impressed to see that each stage of the work was carried out by experienced professionals, e.g joiners (for the stud work), plasterers, and this is evident in the quality of the work. Everything was completed as agreed, and to a very high standard. I'd highly recommend them!

Ian and his team just finished damp proofing 3 areas of our house. Very professional, on time and very tidy. They did an amazing job . I Would highly recommend this company.

The team have completed a number of jobs across our properties. They are fast efficient & professional. Would highly recommend. Very easy with communication. All round brilliant company. Thank you

Barrier did work for my son a few months ago, it's his first house and he was very worried about damp in the property. Ian reassured him the issues could be resolved and he did a great job for him. When we found a problem in our kitchen Ian came out the same day and we found him professional and very knowledgeable. The work started mid January and we were very impressed with the team, all very friendly and polite and they did a great job cleaning up inside and outside. We were delighted they took all the rubble and rubbish away, as so many contractors don't do this. The job was more complex than we thought and, although it took longer to finish, Ian stuck to the original price, only charging for extra work we asked for. We would use Barrier again and recommend them to anyone having problems with damp.

Great responce from Barrier Property Care Ltd, came out to see me on a Saturday, great advice and great service. Thanks.

The property I have recently bought had a serious damp issue. Ian did a great job sorting it out - including replacing the joists and laying a new floor and new skirting boards. He also helped out with some replastering in some of the other rooms and fitted a PIV unit. Communication was great and I found Ian very reliable and trustworthy. Best of all, his quote was quite a bit cheaper than his competitor and the quality of his work very good. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ian and hope to use him again for some other jobs in future.

Had a house survey carried out which stated there was damp and timber issues. I contacted Ian who was able to visit the property within 2 days. Report written up and sent to me the same day. Brilliant service and Ian put my mind at rest that the issue could be resolved. Great service.

I'm a Chartered Building Surveyor and I can highly recommend Ian and his team. They recently completed a renovation project in an occupied terraced property. The work was needed to improve the thermal efficiency of the external wall in the bedroom to prevent condensation occurring. The work was done quickly and to a very good standard, no fuss, no hassle or complaints from the occupant's in-situ. Ian's team took 3 days as agreed and left the room spotless.

Ian and the team were fantastic, quick, efficient and really professional. I’d just bought a property and discovered rising damp, but they installed a new DPC, repointed, replaced air bricks, plastered and cleared all the waste within two days. They kept the place clean throughout, despite the messy nature of the work and were great at working around furniture and being accommodating. I’d happily use them again—though hopefully I won’t need to! 🤞🏻

Ian & has team have just finished a damp course in my house, can’t recommend them enough, they were professional, turned up when they said they would, clean & tidy & really reasonable on cost compared to others we had quotes from. Really high standard of work & lovely people to deal with! 10/10!

What a service! Buying a property at the moment and our level 2 survey turned up some damp concerns - worrying for a 1st time buyer! We contacted Ian at Barrier property care and without hesitation he took the details and the survey report, visited within 48 hours and sent me a report and quote the very same day! The price was far better than I ever expected and he really put our minds at ease. 100% taking him up on this repair when we have the keys. Thanks Ian 😊

The damp proofing course was completed to a really high standard at a reasonable price. The lads also kept the house clean and tidy for the duration. Would highly recommend to anyone requiring damp proofing! Thank you Ian and the team.

lan and his team did such a brilliant job on the house, they were professional and kind. They were fast and hardworking, making sure they finished on schedule. They have made our house into a home that we get to enjoy and make memories. Helped us finish our kennel to and got friendly with the dog. (Coco will miss you all). I can recommend this company to everyone if you are thinking of getting your home repaired. Thank you all again, will miss the good radio music.

Ian's team conducted a damp assessment on a property we were buying and turned around the damp proofing in the highlighted areas in a few days. Two months later during renovations, they took out our kitchen, damp proofed all the walls and replastered ready for our new kitchen to be fitted. Ian also recommended us a number of traders in the process who we've used and provided excellent services. High quality work, professional staff, with fast turnaround for a reasonable price - would recommend.

Reliable friendly guys who always do a good job, for a reasonable price. Would definitely recommend.

Barrier were recommended to me by my Mortgage Broker and Ian was extremely responsive and helpful from the moment I got in touch. He originally came to view the property I was purchasing to assess findings from my survey report. He was extremely thorough and reassuring when checking the property and gave me a very reasonable quote for work required, which helped me to continue with the purchase. Ian and the team then came and completed the work agreed, after I purchased the property. They were extremely professional and did an excellent job with the damp course and installation of air bricks, ensuring everywhere was thoroughly cleaned before they left. Would definitely recommend.

Great Plastering and Damp Proofing Work I recently hired this business to carry out plastering and damp proofing work on my living room, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results. From start to finish, the team was professional, punctual, and highly skilled. The team was also respectful of our home, keeping the area tidy and minimizing disruption. They completed the job on time, and the quote asked was very reasonable for the quality of work delivered. I highly recommend this company for anyone needing reliable and high-quality plastering or damp proofing services. A truly professional job – thank you! N&F

Ian and his team were very professional and polite. Communication before and after was excellent. They arrived promptly and took great care with covering of furniture etc. had a damp course and replastering done and the work was of a very high standard and carried out smoothly and efficiently. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again and would highly recommend to anyone requiring work done.

We had a problem with damp in house, we called Barrier Property Care, Ian responded promptly and we arranged a visit. Ian identified very quickly that we had rising damp both in our front lounge and hall areas on account of rain water pooling in front of our home due to the gradient of our driveway going towards these areas. Ian also identified penetrating damp in our kitchen area on account of the gable wall needing a re-mortar. Ian advised what needed to be done internally to address our issues and together with his work team worked tirelessly to remedy this. I am very thankful that I chose Barrier Property Care, excellent job 👍. Now we are addressing our outside issues recommended by Ian to have an Aco Drainage solution laid and fitted and re-grouting of our brickwork. Thank you.

Had barrier damp do a damp course on our Victorian terrace in 2020, they were honest, professional and the job came in a lot cheaper than other quotes we got. Had them survey our new property this year and again a very honest and less costly quote compared to others. Highly recommended. Would always choose barrier damp. Ian is a pleasure to work with.

Brilliant company. I found this company to be knowledgeable and professional. I bought a house which was full of damp - Ian put my mind and rest and assured me it could all be sorted. I found them really reasonable price wise as well. The work was completed quickly and the lads were really clean. Would strongly recommend.

Professional and clear from the very beginning. Arrived when they said they would for the initial appointment to give a quote and arrived on the day of the job and got stuck in straight away. Work was completed with minimal mess and fuss and left the property cleaned as if it was their own when finished. Would definitely recommend using their services.

Great work by Barrier property care. Dry rot treatment in our living room and hallway. Clean and tidy and we would use them again.

Great work by Barrier. We had penetrating damp in our bedroom, and some condensation to the bathroom. Clean and tidy and there work was excellent. I would highly recommend this company !

We had dry rot issues in our front lounge ian and the team done a great job it was immaculate when they left would highly recommend them

Ian and his team have been a joy to work with, had numerous other companies out who couldn’t identify where my damp issue was coming from but Ian was onto it straight away. Very professional from the outset. Would recommend them in a heart beat. A joy to work with.

Ian was recommended to me after being messed around quite a bit by previous tradesmen. I couldn’t be happier now that Ian has done the job. They arrived on time, did an excellent job and there was no mess left behind at all! A brilliant service. I fully recommend this company!

Ian and his team have just finished a week long job and they have been brilliant. From the point of first contacting Ian, to finishing the work, the team have been reliable, friendly and hard working. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a damp proofing service that you can rely on to complete high value work.

Ian, and his team turned up right on the dot at 8am to do a damp proof course in our home. Clean, tidy, and the team worked non stop, I even had to force them to stop for a cuppa, and sandwich. Very polite, hard working team, shout out to Athan the plasterer!!!! We are really pleased and would recommend to family & friends no problem. Thank you 🙂

We had Barrier Property Care over to put in a new damp course membrane in our living and dining room. Ian's team were really professional and turned up on time first thing in the morning. They always mopped and tidied up before leaving which was really helpful as we have a young child. The new plaster looks great and as soon as everything was finished and the plaster was dry, you could tell the scent of damp had gone. Really pleased and would highly recommend.

Thank you Ian, Steve and Jay for a great job from start to finish. Ian came round promptly to assess and quote for the damp in the hall and front room and sent the quote the next day. The team arrived when they said and they were very professional and efficient. Lovely team to have around, cheerful and helpful. They worked solidly all day and protected my furniture and carpets. The work and finish is excellent and all rubble and dust was removed and floors mopped. I would certainly recommend. Thanks again 👍

Had some damp work done in living room, hallway and kitchen. Fantastic service all round and all work was done to a very high standard. All waste was removed and they even mopped and cleaned up before they left. Would highly recommend to anyone !

Ian provided honest, professional and efficient service. He reviewed the damp issue and provide excellent advice about the issue. I would 100% recommend and would not hesitate to use his services again if needed in future.

Fantastic, bespoke, friendly service - completed all works whilst we were on holiday - brilliant job & house was spotless when we returned. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Ian has been out to our house on 3 separate occasions and provided valuable advice on damp coursing to our property which is over a hundred years old. He is always professional, friendly and helpful. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Ian and his team fixed some damp issues we were having in our porch and front reception room. Took a couple of days but the lads worked their socks off and did the job to a high standard. All waste materials removed and they even cleaned up before they left. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them in the future.

I recently bought a property where Damp was highlighted as a problem. Ian quoted for the issue during the conveyancing, and his quote was the most competitive and also covered more than just a DPC. The works themselves were completed in a timely manner and the property was left clean and tidy. Ian’s communication throughout the process was second to none and he is so patient with explaining the works and what is required. He provides warranty document and is happy to share knowledge about how to mitigate further issues. I would 100% recommend Ian and his team!

Ian tackled a whole wall which was really really bad with penetrating damp and mould. He is professional, no nonsense, straight to the point, and cares about what he does. The work was carried out swiftly and to an amazing standard. Him and his workers were really nice guys too. I am very pleased with his work and would recommend him fully. Thank you so much Ian. 11/10

I tried calling earlier today to enquire about a job I need to get done in my house in L6. The person that answered the phone said your company doesn't cover L6 and hang up. I thought Barrier Property was based in West Derby as per your website. Not great start or customer service...

We had damp in various places around the house, I found Ian on check-a-trade, he came to visit and provided me with a diagnosis of the issues and what was needed to be done to remedy them. Within a couple of hours Ian had sent us though a very competitive quote and due to his reviews, we were very happy to go with him. Him and his team arrived at the agreed time, we went through what was to be done and it was done over a day and a half. The lads were great, trustworthy and worked very hard and we're delighted with the results. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ian to friends and family.

Had some damp work done in the downstairs of our house. All work was done to high standard and very professionally. Ian kept us up to date with all what was happening. We have recently purchased another property with the intent to rent out and we have secured Barriers services for this project and will also recommend their services to family and friends..

Honesty is undervalued. Ian came and assessed our issue, rather than just giving a quote and taking on work, provided an opinion and alternative ideas. Incredibly nice guy and would highly recommend.

After many years of damp walls and being told ridiculous things by different people Ian and Barrier Property care were recommended to us. Ian came, checked our walls and confirmed that we had damp throughout our ground floor except for the lounge! We agreed a price and a date to get the work done. Ian and his workers have arrived every morning at 7.45 and have worked for 7 days til 4pm. Ian came every morning to check the work that had been done and tell us what would be done next. They have done all the walls that we knew of and others that we asked then to check. Nothing has been too much trouble at all for them. I have come home every night to the house tidy and the floors mopped. We can't thank Ian or his team enough and I would highly recommend them to anyone needing damp work done. Thanks Ian, you and your team are great!

Outstanding workmanship. Professional, efficient and all done very promptly. The tidiest guys on the planet at a very reasonable cost! Would highly recommend. My rising damp will rise no more.

Ian assessed our property and provided a damp proof course in our hallway. Ian was fantastic, provided a responsive and professional service at a fair price. Would recommend.

We had an issue with what we thought may be wet or dry rot and the first person we had out to check said we had both . He went around with a damp meter which showed red on almost all of our downstairs walls and then proceeded to give me an extortionate quote. I contacted Ian wanting a second opinion. He came round, checked all the walls with a damp meter which did not show red on all of the same walls that the other guy checked, told us we only had wet rot and then proceeded to give me a fantastic quote. Work date was agreed, Ian and team arrived promptly at 8am on such date and completed all of the work within one day. Everything was left incredibly tidy and clean after they had finished and they were nice folk to have around. Communication with Ian was amazing throughout, he reply’s to texts quickly and is happy to answer any queries. I would highly recommend and in fact have done so already to a friend. I would get Ian and team out again in a heart beat.

Had a damp course done by Barrier and was very pleased with the results. Their workers were friendly, professional and left everything clean and tidy. Would highly recommend!

I have used Barrier care company twice now and i can't reccommend them highly enough, totally first class in every department.

Found Ian through checkatrade, responsive to the advert, came out to see us promptly and assess the issue. The job was done efficiently and professionally, we were so impressed that they had cleaned up after themselves on the first day. Really great job, the shop looks amazing. Thank you so much - would defo recommend.

Ian and the boys did a damp course they did an amazing job and left the room spotless. I would strongly recommend this company I couldn't fault them

Ian and the team were amazing and fixed our mould/damp problems. Ian came for the initial assessment and was so friendly and explained what was causing the damp and mould, what work he would need to carry out and things we could do in the meantime. The team carried out the job in a day and did an amazing job. A bonus was they also throughly cleaned up after themselves which was a big peace of mind especially because we have a 4month old baby. Definitely recommend and would definitely use again should we need anything in the future.

Ian and his team recently transformed our 1980s bathroom to something far better than we could have ever imagined. Very professional, reasonably priced and an extremely high standard of finish. Highly recommend. Thank you!

So impressed with the work we recently had done. Full damp-proofing course and re-plastering completed ahead of schedule. Very friendly and professional workers who left the house spotless when they’d finished. Would definitely recommend!

Company states it covers all of Merseyside but when I contacted them they told me they did not cover north Liverpool??

We had damp in our kitchen pretty bad! Ian and his team were fantastic and very professional & punctual. Very responsive to any queries I had. Really happy with the service we received - would 100% recommend!!!

We had both penetrative and rising damp in our kitchen. Ian and team were prompt to provide a quote/timeline and were punctual to undertake the work providing regular updates. Would recommend

My friend recommended Barrier Property Care as they had previously sorted a problem with damp in the wall of her dining room and she was very happy with the work they did. I had a problem with what I thought was rising damp in the chimney breast so I called Ian for help. He asked me for my details and said he would come out to look the following week. Ian contacted me as promised on the Tuesday and came out that afternoon. He was able to see exactly what the problem was and explained to me that I needed a physical membrane at the back of my chimney breast. The quote Ian gave me for the job was very reasonable. Ian gave me a specific time and day he would be able to do the work. However he called me back the following day as he had a cancellation and could do the job the next morning. Ian was so professional and very highly skilled and knowledgeable, he worked quickly but efficiently, tidying and cleaning as he went along. He was cheerful and accommodating and made sure to leave the room spotless after replastering the chimney breast. I'm very grateful to Ian for the job he did. I hope I never get damp again, but if I do, Barrier Property Care will be the first place I call. I couldn't recommend Ian and his team highly enough.

Ian came round to look at a problem I had with what I thought was rising damp but he advised me to get my chimney stack checked before he took on any work. He was really honest as many firms I feel would have just accepted the work regardless. Really impressive and very much appreciated the honesty which otherwise could have cost me a lot of unnecessary work, highly recommended.

Came out quickly to review our current damp proof solution (electro-osmosis) and was able to analyse the issues and give practical solutions and advice.

Pleasant experience with the team

Sorted a problem I had with damp, installed a membrane and re plastered. Very professional, efficient, knowledgeable and easy to work with. Left the place tidy - no complaints.

I had what I thought was Damp across several places in the house. Barrier Property care came round on the same day. Ian gave me some very good advice re the cause. it was condensation and recommended several fixes including extractor fans and some roofing work. All this advice for free including it could take a year to dry the walls for painting. I cannot recommend this company enough for service, advice and saving me time and money. Paul

Can't rate Ian and his team highly enough absolute first class work, Will recommend !

I had damp in my downstairs cloakroom. Ian diagnosed the problem and his team did the work very efficiently, competently and cheerfully, leaving no mess. Ian responded quickly to texts and always arrived on time. The price for the work was very competitive and I would certainly recommend Barrier Property Services.

Many thanks to Ian and his team who recently did some work on an unused chimney breast for me. This was showing high damp readings on our survey. The area was treated, bricked up and an air vent put in and replastered. They kept the house as tidy as possible and completed the work in just two days. Ian kept to the agreed times, was prompt in responding to any questions and gave a fair price. Couldn't recommend him enough. Thanks again.

Excellent service from this company. Excellent communication, organised, friendly....these guys are so clean, packing up each night, and leaving my home organised and ready for the next day...I was very very impressed by this company...I have already passed their numbers on to a friend.

Barrier Property Care (Ian) addressed some damp around our fireplace a few weeks ago. He was always punctual when he said he would turn up, provided a competitive quote+did the job in the timeframe he said. He was very tidy and cleaned up really well afterwards. I would recommend using him again.

Fantastic service from start to finish. Promptly came out to provide a quote and kept us informed. Arrived promptly each day and carried out the work to an excellent standard. Would definitely recommend.

Ian came out to quote for a damp issue. I was expecting a costly quote, mainly because other comapnies have inspected and quoted to 'fix the damp.' But Ian was very honest and knowledgeable. He advised it wasn't damp but condensation and that ventilation was key. I was impressed and would trust and use Barrier Property Care again.

Professional, reliable and highly-recommended damp proof services. I just bought a house and following the initial survey where damp issues were identified, I contracted Barrier Property Care to do a tailored survey and follow up works. Ian was always extremelly professional, and answered all questions and booked in the job as soon as they had a chance. You can easily tell that this is a family-run business that will always put customer satisfaction as the main priority. On top of that, the lads are easy-going and hard-working, and their prices are very competitive. Would highly recommend their services to anyone with damp issues, as their are specialists and will get your problem fixed, and provide you with a warranty should something not go well. Very please and will not hesitate to hire them again in the future!

Came to my house to inspwct some damp and mould. Took time out of his busy schedule to give me some great advice and solutions to resolve my problem. Very knowledgeable and professional.

Excellent professional team, highly recommend. Sorted my damp issue quicky and effectively and and cleaned up after themselves. I'm moving soon and I wouldn't hesitate to use Barrier again if needed in my new home.

Excellent job, they were always ready to answer all my doubts.

After logging a call I received a response the next day. Two days later Ian visited and inspected the dry rot I had discovered. On his inspection he also located it in an adjoining room. He provided a quote based on his initial findings. He contacted me several days later with a start date and time. Ian and Jay arrived at agreed time and immediately got to work. Fortunately the dry rot had not spread much beyond what could be seen so they set about removing it. Within two days the job had been completed. New floor boards and skirting, plastering and air bricks. The standard of work was top quality and attention was paid to detail. Throughout they were efficient, professional and knowledgable. Everywhere was left clean and tidy, they even finished by mopping up. A great job many thanks.

DO NOT USE! We had a damp course around the downstairs. When we called them out we pointed out parts that we could see were damp. They did their own survey and completed the work. However 2 years later we now have damp back! Apparently they didn’t treat the area that was damp even though we specifically told them it was damp as we had a survey done prior to their visit. Ian ignored our calls and messages until we called from an unknown number. Eventually came out and said they didn’t treat that area at all (when we had asked them to). We asked for a copy of our survey and guarantee which he said he didn’t have a copy of and after much arguing he managed to miraculously find a copy of our guarantee but not our survey which was convenient. We paid for all of the flooring to be replaced at the time and now have a newborn baby in a house with damp. They had been recommended to us but I would never use them again.

I really would like to thank Ian and his team. They did an amazing job on my damp wall and cleaned and mopped up afterwards. I would throughly recommend them and will use them again in the future. Thank you Ian. Lesley

Ian and his team came out to sort some damp on a wall, replastering and fitted a ventilation unit in our loft. All the guys were professional, friendly and cleaned up afterwards too. Really pleased with the job, would recommend!

We have just moved into our new house and were concerned about some wet patches on our wall. Ian came round and quickly reasurred us that it was just condensation, and we had nothing to worry about. I would completly trust his judgement and will keep his number to use in the future.

Ian came to inspect and gave me a full diagnosis of the source and treatment of my wet rot problem which meant replacement dpc, cutting out and replacing rotted wood and joists and rot treatment. He followed it up with a written schedule of costs. He wasn't my cheapest quote but I had full confidence in him from the start and knew I would get great value. I did. The team worked seamlessly with no mess! and after 2.5 days I have a great result. Couldn't be happier and would recommend him 100%

Ian and his team were amazing. I would highly recommend this company. Arrived on time and were very professional throughout. Amazing job and price. Cleaned up after themselves even mopped the floors which you never see. Dont hesitate to use them.

Ian and Frank provided damp treatment for two large areas downstairs, and I was impressed with the quality of work so I got them back to plaster the spare room. Very professional, helpful and on time! Thank you!

Barriers recently tanked our basement and made it into a useable room. I was quite anxious about the works but Ian always put my mind as rest with his professionalism. Ian had great communication throughout and clear pricing which was competitive with other quotes we received. Ian and his team were clean and tidy and got the work done on time as planned. Whenever there were any problems (as there inevitably are with any building work) Ian was quick to resolve these without complaint. Ian is friendly and kind and we would reccomend him for all aspects of building work and we will be asking Barriers to do any future work should we need it. Thanks guys!

Great job done by the team thanks to Ian frank and jay all done in a very professional manner and spotlessly clean would definitely recommend.

Contacted them for an urgent damp survey - was done within 24 hours with a good report. Subsequently work was carried out soon after at quoted price. An additional area of damp was noted (due to the presence of vendor furniture not seen beforehand). They kindly offered to do the work for free but we agreed on a reasonable price. Overall extremely professional and prompt work, easily contactable and professional. I would use their services again and recommend others to use it as well.

Delighted with the work done by the Barrier Property Care team. Was amazed at how much care was taken to clear up after each days work! Really reasonable price. I've already recommended to family and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone else!

And it was so reasonable, it was actually half the cost of another quote we received! They also treated a damp problem that was recurring in our lounge which had been treated previously but failed.
