I stayed at a summer camp for two weeks. The campus was really nice and clean.
My daughter had her belongings STOLEN from inside her room while she was on a school trip. No one had access to the rooms other than the cleaning staff. We reported the incident immediately and were told that the security cameras would be reviewed, but we never received any response, explanation, or follow-up. A very disappointing and concerning experience.
My daughter was robbed in her room; only the cleaning staff had entered. All they said was that they would check the cameras, but they didn't actually check the cleaning staff—even though I provided the location of her AirPods Max, which showed up at the university up to 48 hours after they went missing. They didn't communicate with us further, and they simply told my daughter that there had been thefts in the past... so watch your belongings and don't bring anything valuable, or be aware that you're taking a risk.
During the graduation ceremonies over the past few days, everything went smoothly and the proceedings were joyful and orderly. However, there was one security guard—a rather stout, fair-skinned British man—who was extremely loud and quite rude while explaining something to the students' parents. In my view, working in an educational institution implies that one should naturally absorb and adopt the university's standards of conduct and courtesy. It is not a matter of being unable to handle the large crowds on campus; I am pointing this out so that things can improve, as such behavior reflects poorly on the institution.
The university has no student support or customer service. Been trying to reach them by phone and email with no response for the last ten days. After over 30k in fees, one would expect a timely response. Email responses quote 10 working days to even respond. 10 month later update: their is no staff to talk to in person. They all work from home and are unavailable and totally inflexible with request or support. Its a dying univeristy. Regretting putting my savings into this higher education scam.
Vorrei condividere la mia pessima esperienza in questo college per la mia vacanza-studio. Parto dalle pulizie quasi inesistenti, asciugamani e lenzuola cambiati una volta alla settimana, tra l'altro lenzuola che presentano macchie ed ho trovato qualche pelo/capello sul piumino. Mensa veramente pessima, qualche piatto buono ogni tanto c'era anche (il fritto) ma per la maggior delle volte il cibo non mi è proprio piaciuto. Tra l'altro all'interno della mensa non mancano mai piccioni, indice di sporcizia assoluta. Assolutamente non la consiglio e non ci tornerei
Horrible university. Always delay results do not give support tell you to use their online support system instead of letting you directly email. Only schedule rare therapy sessions for students literally on the verge of passing do not take misogyny or harassment concerns seriously. Try to knock final year results down from first to second so you have to pay appeal money for your results. Lecturers give barely any notice for exams and answer questions late not giving any feedback. Demonstrators have no clue what their own module content is. Only security is helpful.
Good selection of courses. Expensive location. Great place to study if you are living at home. Really liked seeing the number of courses backed with a year in industry

I have submitted a form of interest with questions for an LLM I wanted to do at Queen's Mary approximately 10 times over the last couple of weeks. No one is contacting me back and there is no telephone number to call to ask questions. Obviously University is not interested in me studying with them. At this point I give up and don't want to study there anymore and will contact other universities.

Shoddy standards for this "Top 100" university. Highly disappointed in the university’s handling of academic misconduct and student safety. I reported serious concerns regarding plagiarism and threats to my personal safety including from the student representative of their department of mathematical sciences, yet the administration failed to act. If you value an environment that upholds strict ethical standards and protects its students, you may want to look elsewhere.

My sister who is a disabled student had the most terrible experience at queen Mary University. They failed a disabled student from a lack of support. After the discrimination she received she couldn’t passed her exams. Instead of encouraging her they punished and penalised a disabled student over a very small amount of a late payment. The disability team did not help her at all. They are there just to be there, nothing more. They are careless and not genuine. We wish she never attend this university period! She is not only a failed student she is also struggling more than before mentally. Sad!
DO NOT DO A CAMPUS TOUR! I went on a tour today you aren’t taken into any part of the building, no classrooms, librarys or anything! They walk around outside the university with you and tell you about the statues and facts! Waste of time, but student ambassadors were amazing, positive and kind. (The Uni needs to start letting people inside the university).
They still conduct cruel and pointless sepsis Tests in mice.. Other Universities such as the University of Kent have ceased this experiment.

Acheived a first class degree in Theoretical Physics here. Was encouraged to apply for postgraduate study by my supervisor but there was no funding avaliable on account of my being White and British. 4 years on I am facing homelessness. If you're white and male you're better off killing yourself than attending this University or any other for that matter 0/10

As a South African, i enjoyed my time here. The lecturers were top tier. When you are applying please avoid shared kitchen and toilet for residence, you will regret it. Otherwise great university.
i went here for a summer school, the room that i stayed in was very okay, it was enough for a person and i liked the fact that i had my own private bathroom, however i'm giving this uni only 2 stars because, unfortunately the staff are very unorganised and slightly rude. The food isn't the worst but i can't say i enjoyed it, but i liked that we had both the food that you don't have to pay for and the one that you can. The campus isn't the best but it's alright. The teachers we had didn't really teach us anything. In the first day of my stay we took a test so they could put us in classes with teenagers who have the same level of english as us , but this test wasn't accurate me and my other 3 colleagues were put in different classes, and our new colleagues weren't the same level at all, some of them couldn't even speak english or maintain a proper conversation! What i can say i enjoyed the most is the fact that i was able to make new friends and have fun, but for sure they could be some improvements.

Advertised CS + Maths undergraduate degree - ended up not having any facilities, and they ended up collapsing the entire course after 4 months. So glad I left in advance.
I did my undergraduate here and had an absolutely amazing three years. Their communication is superb with the students, but their pastoral support for students struggling to submit assignments or work effectively is very good. The teachers are happy to have one-to-one sessions with you to go over anything taught. There's also opportunities to carry out research within labs you're interested in on the side. The societies are varied and fun too. As well as this, QM really helps with giving students access to employment post graduation. They really do care for their students!
Unsupportive, average teaching at best. Had to chase a reference for over a month as they were dismissive and uninterested in any kind of support after graduation. Waste of money and time.
Graduation was successful, but there was no parking lots for guests .There is too much walking from a location to another , such as graduation area to photo shoots, etc, Overall, nice 👍

I was here for an open day and I am impressed with the campus and the way all the departments are close together, all the staff are very welcoming and helpful and the library / work spaces are amazing.
I left the university after my first year and transferred to UCL due to experiencing repeated antisemitic slurs. Reporting the issue to university staff was completely ineffective—both in direct conversations and when they attempted to address my situation. Another major issue was the frequent lecture cancellations, with at least two per month being called off. On top of that, the quality of teaching in the Economics department was shockingly poor. Many lecturers seemed unprepared, and none of the female lecturers could answer even the most basic questions, such as “What happens to inflation if interest rates increase?” As a paying student contributing £9,250 per year, this was an unacceptable experience. In contrast, the student experience at UCL is significantly better. I struggle to understand how this institution holds its Russell Group status—it simply does not deserve it. I'm not saying you shouldn't consider attending, but be mindful of your decision. University is a three-year investment, and for most people, there's no way to turn back the clock. Choose wisely.
One of 2 uni campuses within walking distance, feels quite homely, always full of students and staff walking around, good security and easy transport in the area to go further into or leave the city
Someone in one of the open day talks sat down for a one hour lecture on what the computer science department was like and what studying computer science and Queen Mary was like. And after that one hour, they asked what the admissions requirements are. Why were they there if they didn’t even check the website??????? Also someone else asked what contents they would be studying in year one and two, which is also on the website. Overall, this was not a good look for the computing department and for the quality of the students studying at the school. Terrible experience. Left a bad taste in my mouth. I’m not saying the university is bad or anything, I’ve never been there so I wouldn’t know, but the experience didn’t exactly inspire confidence. Thank you. On another note, all of the buildings on the campus looked great, the pavement was very good, which was a relief because I was trying to walk in high heels, it all looked super modern, bathrooms were super clean, toilet paper was good. Lecture theater was very nice and the seating was super comfortable and relatively spacious, the architect deserves a raise and honestly, it was a very nice experience.
For MSc Big Data Science, I would only give it one star. Waste of money and time. Easiest distinction in my life. Anyone thinking about coming to UK and spend all their money into this to rethink. You can do this far less expensive than this and more practical. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME... I wouldn't recommend Digital Media and Social Networks due to the disastrous group project experience. My mentor disappeared halfway through the project, and I had to work with two non-programmers who had no fundamental knowledge of Python. Also english is a massive barrier here. I was disappointed with Applied Statistics because it was no different from what I had already learned during my undergraduate studies at QMUL!. The only difference is you write in R programming, but hey, we just copy the code from the notes and just change the parameters to answer most the MCQ. Exams question were the same as the previous 5 years and identical. Big Data Processing was also a huge letdown. The server was down for weeks, which prevented us from accessing the file systems. It lacks practical skills, I wrote basic hadoop/pyspark commands for the MCQ and achieve 100% coursework that weigh 40% lol. Also, coursework was the same as previous cohort. I could go on about every module, but I would exceed my word limits. My perspective on pursuing a Master's degree has changed since completing my course at QMULI expected a master's level to be a bit more challenging than a normal undergraduate degree. This wasn't the case. This needs to change if they want to deliver high-quality candidates. The course seems to be tailor to international student. How can you be a data scientist from this rubbish?

If you’re planning for this university please don’t as they’re a joke. They don’t deserve that ranking. They owe me more than £2000 pounds. I have failed to see how bad the Uni is. Qmul has the worst student support services ever. You cannot contact anyone by phone but the Student Enquiry Centre, and when you do, they just tell you to send an email or state that they do not know how to help. I have never in my life come across such a careless academic institution, they do not care about their students wellbeing at all and most of the time leave you drowning in confusion. Do not go here unless you want to be chasing someone up every single day about your problems that have been unresolved for months due to emails that have been unread for months. All of these experiences have led me to believe that QMUL is a careless, disorganised, understaffed and an overall apalling university - especially for what you pay them. Long story short, if you respect yourself as a human being do not go to this university as the people here will not be respecting you or your time.
Attending QMUL is like doing a mediocre, extremely overpriced online course with a smattering of poor-quality contact time. Do not enrol here lightly.

The staff are completely incompetent at this university, in hindsight I would have chosen a different university. It takes weeks and weeks to get a simple matter resolved. I’m going into my final year (the most important one) and they have completely messed up my module registration it’s honestly embarrassing
I am highly disgusted, the hygiene is very bad: I found black hair ( not mine) put specifically in a towel supplied, the toilet seat open and the whole and the whole room full of dust, the completely encrusted cutlery and the smelly trays, I’m having a very bad hygiene experience. I hope things will change soon after my complaint. I’m appalled by the lack of hygiene in this college and the unprofessional cleaners.
Great University to study at, the teachers are specialists providing great knowledge, the facilities are superb and as a Masters student the Graduate Centre rooftop study area has some of the most amazing views across London, which is pretty cool whilst working on projects. One downside is the attitude from senior management towards lecturer's and teachers I've witnessed, which is unacceptable as strikes had to be continued throughout the academic year disrupting students experiences and the teachers welfare. The Uni does feel like it's being run as a corporate business too much, where students and staff have felt this continuously. This should not be the case as the Uni makes a great amount of money, so staff should feel appreciated and listened to. Overall, I've studied in a different London university previously and have experienced different campuses, however I must say QMUL is one of the best in London and would recommend to anyone as you do feel richer in knowledge from studying here.

We pay 9k a year for what? I do not recommend this university - the lack of respect they have for us (students) and for their own staff is disgusting and appalling.
Had an educational experience at masters level. Studies MS medical electronics and physics in year 2009 to 2011. Years of excellence of my life . Can't forget the campus , the teachers and colleagues . I love to be their back in past and enjoy again the days I spent in 🇬🇧. I still feel the romantic embiance of the country and my university. This is a beautiful ,magnificent university in the heart of Tower Hamlets, loads of eateries, plenty of transport for travelling back and forth to Queen Mary University of London.
Under NO circumstances should you apply to this uni - my experience has been beyond appalling. I attended QM as a part time MSc Mathematics student over 2 years, here as some of the awful highlights: - was not informed at all about when I should be choosing an MSc project, despite asking tutor for this information beforehand. Ended up starting my project 4 (!) months late through no fault of my own - my course decided to remove all extra-curricular modules on offer without telling students, and I only found out days before the term started due to a rejected module request - staff have very often completely ignored my emails, whether it's requesting for feedback on an exam, background textbooks for a module or asking whether I can do the MSc project they have on offer - admin charged me the wrong fees twice, and neglect to tell students important information - staff consistently messing up the recording of lecturers, resulting in no sound, no video, etc - zero social interaction between students in the course If you're not convinced of the above, look into the other underhanded tactics this uni is using to boost its rating - David Colquhoun has some good articles about it. Oh, plus all the conspiracy theorist anti-vaxxers in the School of Maths.
Some of the staff are amazing but there are some that won’t even respond to your emails regularly. I had to spend days just trying to fix a payment mess up on their end and I had to chase them to get it resolved while being threatened to be kicked from my program for “not paying”. The burden of proof was on my end, so had I not documented my previous payments I would have lost my money and been revoked entry into my program. Although the professors and tutors are mostly professional and kind, some of the professors are not.

Worst in supporting their students and they have done masters in ruining the career of their students. None of the departments support and gives a direct answer. Always a delay in their results. Despite knowing the fact that students have to face the Visa restrictions.

Terrible administration, student help desk is unavailable and they don't respond to emails. Lately they have eliminated the phone contact. Nobody cares about important issues such as students exam dates.
The two stars are for some of the teachers who deserve a much better university to share their talents. The value for the sheer money you pay to go there is just not worth it. The dorm rooms on campus are small like tiny boxes and in possibly the dirtiest area of London- most of all the good things there vanished during the pandemic. The only good thing about campus is the library- 5 floors and an extensive collection of books. Now onto the student support- of which there is none. The counseling department is a complete joke, the health services can only see you for one issue for appointment, and have them booked weeks out. The housing crisis in the UK right now has made it so students are forced to go home, there is no space available on campus for the next year. Save your time, money and tears- the quality of teaching can certainly be found at a different university that actually cares about students.

Queen Mary University of London is a leading research university distinct for its student-centered learning and deep sense of purpose. The University's academic programs include: undergraduate, graduate and professional, schools and colleges, academic departments, centers and institutes, libraries and collections, global education, as well as non-degree programs.
They do not care for their students at all. To their staff and teachers you’re no more than a number. People not being able to enter a masters degree and losing one year of their lives because this bunch of lazy and pretentious people won’t do their job. They won’t even answer to emails. Don’t come here.
Not much positive experiences. The only good thing about the university is the friends I've made but Queen Mary gets zero credit on that front. They SUCK at responding to emails. It takes them weeks to answer a question so good luck if it is a time sensitive question. It takes them WEEKS approving loan requests so good luck on that front. Half my first year was strikes and protests and such so I wasted over 6,000 pounds for my second semester that year and when I applied for a refund for that semester I was denied even though I had no classes that semester. There are barely any class hours so it is a high price university for really no reason at all. I'm only continuing my education because otherwise my loan from last year would go into effect and I don't have money to start paying that back, otherwise I would stop attending. Five of my friends quit after their first year. Definitely do research into this university before you ever decide to go there.
Nous sommes le 21 août 2022. A ce jour ma fille qui était en L3 n’a toujours pas reçu ses notes du Queen Mary ! C’est inadmissible !!! De ce fait elle ne pourra pas continuer en master étant dans l’incapacité de donner ses notes malgré plusieurs réponses positives de différentes universités. Elle se retrouvera donc sur le marché du travail à cause d’une soit disant grève des examinateurs ! Honte à vous ! Honte à l’université du Quenn Mary !!!!
N’a jamais transmis l’entièreté des notes du dernier semestre de L3 de mon amie sous prétexte d’uNE GrÈVe : à cause de vous cette dernière n’a pas pu s’inscrire au master dans lequel elle avait été accepté et se retrouve sans rien pour la rentrée de septembre 2022-2023. C’est absolument intolérable de la part de l’administration et surtout des professeurs concernés qui sont prêts à mettre en péril l’avenir de leurs étudiants pour leurs petites personnes. L’état mental des étudiants empirent d’année en année et on se demande pourquoi. Faudra pas que les boomers s’étonnent que les jeunes aient plus envie de s’investir et de travailler vu comment vous les traiter.
Previamente a tu llegada, haz aprovisionamiento de toallas, sábanas, edredón, cojines, utensilios de cocina… Parece ser, que es una tónica entre las universidades sean de donde sean. Las calles están sucias porque la gente tira de todo al suelo. Si vas de Erasmus a esta Universidad no la recomiendo en absoluto. Sus profesores como medida de presión para mejorar sus condiciones laborales y/o salariales, dejan de corregir o subir tus notas con lo que, a fecha Agosto 2022, uno tiene que matricularse en España para el próximo año y todo está en el aire, tu expediente incompleto, tu pago resto beca en suspenso... La ORI y/o Universidad (nuestro caso UJI), NO HACEN NADAAAA. Facilidades para irte de intercambio 0. Y no te pienses que puedes elegir las asignaturas que quieras para convalidar, te dejarán escoger tal vez aquellas asignaturas poco demandadas o que sus estudiantes uriundos no quieran.
QMUL is definitely not worth the money, also career service and administration are so bad for MA students. Especially if you didn't do your undergraduate studies there, they won't help you with anything, but make it even more difficult to adjust. I did my master in International Relations and courses' materials were okay but lecturers awful: unprepared, superficial and, most concerning, completely uninterested in your career prospect.

The only two things this university gave me are depression and a huge student debt that I will probably never repay back in full. They completely hid from me the fact that you CAN CHANGE your major if you are struggling in Year 1 and not enjoying the course. They knew I disliked my course and yet forced me to stay. I graduated three years ago and am still recovering from the awful experience. If you decide to go there, you will only be seen as a number. Your emotional wellbeing won't matter to most people. Although I do have to mention that the Disability team that assigned me a mentor pretty much saved my life, they were the only ones who showed kindness (+Rosine from Extenuating Circumstances Team). They are the only reason I somehow managed to complete the course that I had so despised. Also, Matt Jacobsen is rather procrustean and ruthless man who has no empathy and should not be teaching vulnerable students. He was fully aware of my struggles with social anxiety, yet he picked on me and embarrassed me in front of the whole class. He also shouted at me when I came to his office (DURING HIS OFFICE HOURS) for not booking an appointment? He made me CRY and yet he kept on shouting at me... I never came back to his class and failed it as a result. I am not exaggerating when I say that this must have been one of the most humiliating moments of my entire life. I get severe anxiety every time I think about my experience with this university. I went to do my masters elsewhere and am extremely happy with my current university and my only regret is all the £££, tears and time wasted on QMUL. It might be a Russell Group uni, but I honestly can't name a single person that actually enjoyed studying there. Not worth it. plus, the area is not exactly safe. A lot of drugs and gang related crime. I even got followed by some man once when walking to campus from Whitechapel to Mile End. Yuk. So glad it's over.

It’s already Week 3 now and most of our timetables are not complete yet. Students don’t know the exact time and location of some classes. We definitely have written a lot of emails asking for adjustments but in vain. WE ARE HELPLESS. I understand there are a lot of things to do for the staff, but hey…we paid 25k a year….we DO NOT deserve this quality of service at all.

After 7pm this is the only way in or out of the university. All gates are locked except for one, and security are supposed to always ask for student ID upon entry - however, students of colour often seem to be targeted more during these checks. The closing of the entire campus after this time restricts through access, and access to quiet space next to the canal for local residents. Recently, this barrier has restricted even delivery drivers (who are almost by nature working class) which in turn will decrease their earnings since they are paid by the number of deliveries they complete. A clear sign of gentrification by the university.
The university is by the canal and such a wonderful place to sit near the canal and spend some time with friends.
Underrated establishment. Good teaching and facilities, but does lack character. I don’t recommend petting the local ducks either. One of them stole my hairline and now it looks like the McDonald’s logo 😔 #ImNotLovingIt
Some of the lecturers were horrible, I got my 2:1 and was happy to be out of here. Been a few years since and I don't remember a thing from my degree. Universities create students who learn how to a swallow up a textbook and regurgitate it out on an exam paper. It's not an education, only a test of short term memory. Nowadays it's better off for a person to do an apprenticeship and start their career early, saving 27k of student loan and a few years of their life.
It has an excellent location; also plenty of courses are available for students.
I'll be honest, in my first year I developed an anxiety disorder back in 2014. I'm not blaming the faculty or my course mates necessarily, I'll keep this short, but the only thing that helped was avoiding unnecessary conflict, working hard, and my GP. I snagged a first, so not a completely wasted three years.
Student's feedback is not considered at all. Doing Master there in engineering. Teaching quality is so poor! Lecturers might be renowned researchers but teaching is not for them. It's so disappointing. They literally read off infinite presentation slides, no passion whatsoever. They will teach you the most basic concepts but then give complicated exam questions. Grade distribution makes no sense, they will keep you busy with meaninglessness coursework worth 3% then fail you with exams worth 80% or more. Feedback to courseworks are anything but meaningful. Seriously, if you wanna learn something and don't want to waste your money, don't go to this university.
Admission staff are stern with their entry policy for BTEC. Better uni than queen Mary accept Btec students for bio science related subjects. Such a shame this uni has no belief in BTEC students. It would be nice if they at least gave discretionary offers for some Btec students, but admission staff don’t want to hear what we have to say.

Spent the best three years of my life ❤️. I studied Biomedical Sciences and I subsequently started a PhD in AI in healthcare thanks to the connections, support and training offered by this university. Qmul has excellent teaching staff and great facilities! A very nice campus! Really a great university!
Overall study experience is so bad. Not worth the experience and money paid to be a student of UOLQM. Exam papers not sure mark by which cheap random marker. Comments on coursework are close to meaningless. You cannot learn anything from their mean and pointless comments. If you're a real professional, you will laugh at the naive comments they wrote at Turnitin.

I hard working, smart and incredibly passionate about biomedical science but this university would not accept me for my BTEC in science. I feel that this is unfair and that they MUST re-evaluate their entry requirements for the Bsc Biomedical science course.
This review is with regards to Queen Mary University of London QMUL “Aesthetic Medicine Postgraduate Diploma ( 2 years Part-time Online Learning )”. Previously labelled as "Distance Learning" instead of "Online Learning". With the reputation that QMUL holds, I was truly disappointed by the lack of quality in their aesthetic course. While the official site paints a robust curriculum that aims to equip their students with the relevant knowledge for aesthetic medicine, the fact of the matter is that the college does not meet its students’ expectations at all in providing first-tier education despite the exorbitant school fees. Unfortunately, there were no reviews available for students to make a discerning decision prior to matriculation. I have made this mistake to choose QMUL aesthetic medicine, but I hope my review will help students avoid making the same mistake, regretting their decision and wasting their hard-earned savings. To give QMUL aesthetic medicine (Blizard Institute) credit, the theoretical content they had intended to cover is decently structured and comprehensive. However, this is where the merit ends. The reading materials are riddled with factual errors; the tutors do not offer much guidance, and are in addition almost impossible to get in touch with. This is especially problematic when handing in term assignments as there is no clarity on what needs to be submitted, and feedback from previous assignments are often given so late you’re unable to learn from the mistakes of your previous assignment before the next is due. With QMUL's standing, there was a certain expectation in the quality of education. Not being able to receive prompt feedback which is crucial to improve the next assignment's grade was not what I had expected. If the previous years have been a success, the cohort of 2018/2019 has been truly let down by the department.
They need to re evaluate their BSc science entry requirements as I am very passionate for science and I have the potential, this is very rare for a university not to accept BTEC for biomedical science - even oxford university accepts BTEC!!! Please don’t waste your time here if you are studying btec, they are not considerate about us.

Great teaching staff, good administration, quiet area, uni close to the city centre. The campus itself has a lot of facilities, including a club, a gym, small shops and many green areas to study or chill. I graduated in 2018 with a BA in English and I didn't regret my decision. As an international student, I always felt welcome and I managed to learn a lot throughout the 3 year period. Positive experience overall. I definitely recommend this school :)
Beautiful university but the administration office is run by headless chickens. Course information, such as module choice/detail are not updated on the website, and I recommend potential students to call rather than solely look up certain information pertaining to the course online. Campus is clean and beautiful, especially the graduate center that boasts some of the best and most inspiring views for self study or group work. Timetables are often changing; certain academic staff are beginners and dissertation advisory meetings are changed a day before the intended meet. Extremely unprofessional. The MSc Marketing course (my course) had gone beyond the allocated number of students, ergo, certain module specific classrooms were too small to seat all the students.
"Russell Group" only by name because there are so many things wrong going on around here but will keep it simple. Let's call it the "student mind breaking alliance" instead. No flexible learning for PT MSc students with a "life" outside of uni, no after class support whatsoever hell they don't even check entry requirements and put you to a module where you don't meet the pre-requisites and it wasn't even mentioned on the site so by the end of year you are on your own or struggle to pass the module for sure. For the price of £9K+ students should be given a better level of professionalism, teaching level and lectures being thought well but I think even something like UEL would make your life easier. After entering this place I had to give up my recently found job because of their continuous time table changes, struggle to cope with the assessment methods CW + quiz + exams at end of the year with zero cares for special circumstances. Also they are very money focused and would slap you with a big chunk of money invoice as soon as you walk in to the place and expect you to come and pay or make arrangement within a week?? I wish I could revert my decision of enrolling for this uni and focused on taking better careers choices after my undergraduate degree (different uni) instead of wasting precious life time by going for a postgraduate course.
We visited my daughter and dropped off the goodies.The university is light and airy and surrounded by shrubs and trees which for the centre of London makes for a relaxed atmosphere for the students to study in.
As an MSc Astrophysics student, I am enjoying my time here at the moment. I think they have an excellent Physics faculty. Happy to be a student here. Hoping to graduate soon. Edit: I have now graduated! :)
Excellent university with amazing buildings and cafes to spend your whole day studying. I would've liked more outside places to sit and study other than just outside muccis. Teaching isn't the best but the professors are helpful and very professional. I am doing my masters here and am enjoying a lot.
In order to evaluate this place, you need to see other universities such as Windsor University in Ontario Canada! I believe it was students' ambitions killing machine! I believe they owe me, infront of God, > 10 milion US dollars valued back to 1977/79! I believe I should be able to teach most engineering mechanical' topics far better than those called "teachers" at the time!
In general this University is alright. But I have to say, I had several bad experiences from the information desks from the Queens' building. In specific, was the guy whom think he is so perfect and good looking. But he was awful, he was rude, arrogant, with extremely bad attitude which almost made me cry once. I don't understand, a such person like him should not work in the environment like this. He have patient of zero, how can this help to guide student? I mean not only me, all my classmate who have been served by him were totally had as bad experience as I had. I deeply hope the University management can do something about this.
I ended up here even though this was not my preferred University and it was not even my preferred degree course! Actually, I put this as my penultimate choice through UCAS, but it was my insurance choice. This was mostly because during my University search, I found people who were too harsh in their opinions and thoughts; thus, being influenced by third-parties, I misjudged this University. QUEEN MARY IS AMAZING! I love the campus, the people, my degree... and there is a whole list! For people with high expectations, I think you should appreciate the values and the skills that you gain through your university experience rather than the appearance or the streets of East London. Really, if you are still thinking about everything being shiny and perfect, forget University level education. You are meant to gain intellectual and personal strength, developing your full self. I think university should teach you how to become independent and solve your problems and challenges creatively. For me, Queen Mary did this and I am really happy being here. P.S. I'm studying BSc Biochemistry (Hons).
Honestly, the worst decision of my life. I was never meant for the city life, but this was absolutely atrocious. Firstly, don't expect the student enquiry centre to help you with anything across the phone or email. They are heavily overburdened by the copious amount of international students who can barely communicate with them. Secondly, the staff is mostly unprofessional - mostly students or recent graduates who have zero experience in the administration field and who are basically falling asleep on their keyboards. Now something from my own personal experience - on my first day at Queen Mary, I entered my lecture room and found it packed! My degree was Mechanical Engineering, but most students I communicated with were Chemical/Electrical. However, the university thought it was a brilliant idea (not!) to stuff the sheep, cows and horses into one stable. I remember sitting on the stairs with fifty other students and hearing one student remark 'Paying 9 grand to not even get a seat!' How true his words were! Finally, the location is ugly. The walk from Mile End or Stepney Green to the university is marred with ugly pavements and rude, hooting drivers. I never felt safe, but then again it is East London. Lastly, I am going to end this review with one final note to potential, starry-eyed applicants - Russel Group does not always mean it's going to be good. Best luck to all! :) Update:- I forgot to mention my lovely (not so lovely) lecturers. Some were grouchy and some were just speaking a completely different language. I have had so many lecturers in the past few years here that have basically made no sense. English is not their first language (and I respect that wholeheartedly), but when they can't explain to the student what the student is trying to ask - then we have a problem. I graduated from my degree by attending PASS classes where I would take my problems and where kind senior/PhD students would help out and most of the time explain better than the lecturer! You'd expect something more from a Russel Group uni, but honestly Queen Mary just seems like a desperate money-making business company. I'd say there are more international students here that can't even speak basic English studying for an undergraduate degree in English. How?
Terrible staff and service offered to PAYING students.. I was supposed to be starting my LLM course there next month but seriously reconsidering after the rude service I've received from staff at the university from hanging up phones to completely ignoring my queries making the whole enrolment process a nightmare, ashamed that a university that holds itself in such high regard treats its students that way ..AVOID!!

I can say that it was one of the best choices I made. When looking for a university to attend, as well as the obvious aspects to check like the quality of the courses available in your subject, or the background of your lecturers etc. it's also important to think about the campus life and whether it fits with what you're looking for as an individual. The main campus is located not far from Mile End station, which historically hasn't been that great of an area to live / work in, however with the increasing onset of international students to the university, Mile End and East London as a whole has experienced a huge amount of gentrification and is now one of the many "student hipster" locales that this part of London is now famous for. In terms of the campus itself, it offers a great library and conveniences, including a union bar, cafes and dining halls and a lot of the residency halls there overlook the canal that runs through the campus.
The good: The writing tutorials are incredibly helpful. Important for me as a masters student of Global health where most of my assessments were done as essays. I liked the concept of each student in my course being assigned a guardian(mentor). This was very helpful when you needed clarifications on academic or student life. I also like the culture of concessions being given to students who have personal challenges or disabilities. Not so good: With respect to academic goals and in retrospect, it would have been helpful to interact with alumni who could hopefully show one the ropes to succeed instead of going in 'blind'. Secondly, one needs to bear in mind that the various faculties differ and student experience will differ. People are also coming from different backgrounds and have varied expectations so experiences and perspective won't be the same for each person.
The Mile End Institute makes important contributions to current political debates.

I was here for a training to join the Robotics Challenge. The facility and some robot kits were given to Tomorrow's Engineers to help run the training. They had a jet engine cut in half vertically to display the inner workings of it, that was interesting.

Hands down the best place to study in London. Great people, amazing buildings with rich history. Within walking distance from Mile End and Stepney Green Underground station. Students' Union is actively involved in running the university so you get good representation on campus. on-site gym/sports centre with QMUL students having access to many university of london facilities including libraries, sports centres etc. Access to Olympic park for swimming and cycling. Also university is on the cycle highway 2 pathway so you can ride in to campus. Does not have parking on campus and not enough parking close by for students so its best to use public transport or cycle, however you get a 30% discount on travel passes with your student oyster card which only cost 10 pounds. Lots can be said about here but you should totally visit on one of their open days or campus visit day to experience it for yourself.

I finished mechanical engineering in 2011, once you put your name and pay the money you are on your own. The uni doesn't support if you not have good grade at the end of your study.

QMU has modern lecture halls and facilities making it perfect for educational events. If you aren't affiliated with the university, it's worth taking a look at QMU's Public Engagement events to see what might be of interest to you, as often these events are free or at a very low cost.
Greatest University I have attended and they work, cry and laugh with you. Student support is amazingly awesome. Most of the staffs are friendly, helpful and easy to talk with
I am class of 2010. It was good in many ways for example I liked the teaching methods to certain extent, but I would have preferred some practical along with the theory specially when i was studying engineering. but student welfare was terrible. Muslim student had no place to pray so they had to pray on open grass in the rain. I would have expected better from them.
Attended the QMUL School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science Showcase 2016 with a friend of mine who got his MSc from QMUL some years ago. Really interesting to see bright, keen academic minds at work and some of the concepts and inventions they come up with. Queen Mary's University of London is a great campus and this event was held in the Octagon library with it's magnificent dome which added some real sense of space to this event. A very good academic centre of excellence and it is extremely important we as taxpayer's get our priorities right and inject public funds in to such centres of learning and advancement.
I have to say that I am hugely disappointed by the university. The lack of security, the lack of support from some academics, poor career service and poor administration. I am a master degree student and was expecting to improve my skills and knowledge for the future career prospects, however, this is not the case. The school is not organised at all. Lectures are scheduled in the rooms that are already occupied, support staff members do not communicate with students or academics (the case when lecturer started questioning students why they are late, when everyone received an email that the lecture starts later). And do not worry, when you will have to speak to administration staff, they will never respond to your email, so you always have to go in person. Results and feedback on your assignments will be late, and no one will take responsibility for that. Throughout the year, there were no external speakers coming in, no career fair for postgraduate students, no panel discussion, no networking. My question remains, what the point of doing the degree? Also Queen Mary do not have any security on campus. The only building that accessed by card (the library) could be accessed by any external person from the street. My laptop was stolen in couple of minutes due to inadequate security (they did not notice the person who went though the barriers and left through them without swiping the card), so what is the point of that barriers? and PS. They haven't informed anyone about this incident so I guess it will happen again. My year is not over, I still have exams ahead of me, dissertation, and due to the "loss" of my computer (it is how it been addressed and not that it was stolen) I have to start my assignments all over again. I would strongly advise you not to go to study at Queen Mary University, but if you do, demand things, because it is the only way to deal with school. MSc Marketing Student, 2015-2016 year
The problem with Queen Mary is that they are a prisoner to their own reputation and now it is all about the pursuit of foreign students as this is where they can charge the highest fees.
I love my uni even though most of the buildings have a lot of distance. There are great eating options there. Plus we can eat in the labs even though they claim we can't.

Lots of really positive changes in the past year, investment in buildings and people with some highly motivated students making campus vibrant and exciting.
The university offers a variety of great courses however the administration side lets it down, especially the School of Engineering and Material Sciences. It is difficult to get any request dealt with and there are many internal issues affecting students negatively (grades and well being) which do not get dealt with. I find it hard to be believe that an institution which charges so much money can get away with providing such a poor service to it's students.
Amazing, I studied there in 1980, and recently needed a letter confirming my attendance for another course I am applying for. It took the office 2 days to retrieve my details and send me a certification letter, that's the first contact I've had with this Uni in 35 years. Their admin system both human and computerised is incredible.
Brilliant. Has everything you could ask for to be quite honest. Only problem is the air confidtioning which is a little too cold sometimes, but besides that, generally a clean quiet and spacious environment.
I studied there during 2011-2012 and loved every day at uni: nice, professional and helpful professors; good, comfortable studying premises and library, and generally nice vibe around the campus (I studied at Mile End campus).
I can proudly say that the University looks sparingly welcoming and sophisticated. The key strengths of the University is the politics department. Anyone who has much love and passion for politics, but doesn't want to decamp London, I strongly recommend studying here.
Really enjoyed my Engineering undergrad and recommend to everyone. The professors are mostly helpful throughout the learning experience and the TAs are always available to assist anyone.
A good uni, but very dependent on the course you study. Took a look round and the campus is pretty cool, lots of developments so they are clearly putting work in to it, however, arts needs more funding, and the facilities could do with some work.
Queen Mary university is jam-packed full of amazing resources = music rooms, science labs, lecture theatres and even places to screen films!! The Student Union in place is geared towards hearing the student voice and so there's always somewhere to go to express concern. In addition, they have amazing shops, cafes and gyms dotted around campus = mega useful. Societies are a plenty. Knitting, cheese, Turkish, Amnesty, Basketball to name a few. Worth your consideration if looking to study at University of London
After studying Mathematics for a semester here, I found the entire experience overwhelming. The subjects were too difficult for me to comprehend as a math major from the United States, and I felt there was very little I could do to receive help outside the classroom and lectures. Yet the study abroad office was extremely helpful during my time here, and this is why i give it a fair review.
The environment of this campus is very good. It existed for a long time. There are a lot of restaurants and bars in this campus
